Powers/Abilities: Some Rigellians have various psychic powers, including the ability to control minds or to overpower another being's musculature/motor control ("mind-thrust"), communicate via telepathy and mentally alter their physical density to increase their strength and durability and then return to their normal density at will. 

    Some Rigellians can also use their psychic power telekinetically, and a group of Rigellians were able to combine their power to form a shield to block a strike from the Asgardian thunder god Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. They can further increase their power to "cremation level" to destroy most objects or beings, although they could not damage Mjolnir.

         Mentacle is apparently a mutant with a unique appearance some unique abilities, although it is unrevealed whether she is a true mutant or genetically-engineered like the race of "mutants."

         If Sacino is indeed a Rigellian, then she is presumably a mutant or using technology or something to appear differently.

Technology: Rigellian science is extraordinarily advanced.

    Weaponry / Defense

    Rigellians have numerous advanced weapons and other technology, most notably the Sun Shredder, which can tear apart the core of a star.

    The Null-Bomb can cause a super-implosion, allegedly powerful enough to eradicate all life within the Black Galaxy.

Additional weapons, include the Compellor Beam, able to force the compliance of those under its effects; the molecular rearranger;
manipulation of subatomic particles for various purposes:  Photon Blocks, Proton Coagulant Ray / Proton Cages to capture opponents;

    Although it seems likely, it is not confirmed that the experimental Molecular Disruptor used by Zygo was of Rigellian design.

    At least one Rigellian-Badoon rifle was created, combining Rigellian precision and Badoon lethality.

     Rigel-3 formerly had a field shielding them from detection by Galactus, but this weakened and eventually failed.--Thor I#160

    Starships

    They possess advanced, warp-drive, interstellar starships. Amongst these are the Man-Of-War; the Inspectors' ship; the ship that departed Sky-Station 14-R; the space cruiser destroyed by Ego; the ship piloted by Recorder 211 into the Black Galaxy (encountering Ego); Colonizer Sentry Ship; the translucent ship used by Colonizers to return Thor to Earth and to retrieve Tana Nile; the ship Tana Nile used to travel to Earth and bring Thor back to Rigel; another ship Recorder 211 piloted into the Black Galaxy (encountering Ego vs. Galactus); the ship Tana Nile used to travel to the Black Galaxy/Ego and then to Blackworld; the exodus fleet from Rigel-3; Arcturus' command ship and its associated fleet; the outer defense ships of New Rigel-3; Deep Space Survey Vessel KJ31227; the massive fleet that evacuated Rigel-3 prior to its destruction by the Rhunians - over seven hundred such ships were part of this fleet, with each ship having 5000 chambers, each of which held thousands of Rigellians.

    Satellites

    Transport/teleport systems

    Rigellians also have hyperspace teleportation devices used to relay individual Rigellians from one outpost to another.
    Their Matter Transmitter utilizes a structural dissembler from the the location of origin and a structural restorer at the destination site. This notably occurs from Rigel Control Central to the Power Planetoid (and presumably vice-versa).
    The Transport Egg sends objects and/or beings across interstellar distances to the Transport Chamber aboard the command ship in Arcturus' fleet.
    One of the key resources of the Rigel-3 destroyed by the Rhunians was the Space Lock, a satellite-like device in Rigellian space that could project a powerful tractor beam to capture colonized worlds and transport them through hyperspace to a new location. The space lock has also proved useful in relocating Rigellian colonies to conceal their locations;
    It was presumably similar and/or related to the Planet-Lock and Planetary Defense System;
    Tractor beams pulled Thor away from the Space Lock as he approached it, bringing him down to the power planetoid--Thor I#132;
     the Mesa Beams, seem to have a similar function

    The Ion Bridge, produced a habitable tunnel between two nearby spaceships;

    The time-warp escape drive, faciliated rapid escape from an imediately life-threatening danger.

    While it likely had many other uses, the Gravity-Nullifier; was used to effortly transport objects too heavy to carry, such as Thor within a photon block.

    Scanning and communication technology

ionic probe-scopes, which detect (presumably) energy pulsations from the other end of the universe;

Psyche-Search Gauge, which could locate a being based on their life force aura;

Seismograph, which measured seismic tremors (earthquakes);

Spectro-Scanner, which analyzed energies of objects, etc. in space;

Viso-scanners - (referenced, but not pictured);

the Viviscan Probe, which analyzed both the nature and memories of subjects;

and Communication Plaques, tablets used to relay data and imagery gathered from Viso-Scanners.

    Robotics

Recorders are humanoid robots built for the purpose of information gathering and analysis.

Other significant examples of Rigellian technology include the Visi-Rod, able to render objects the size of small spaceships invisible and visible again; magnetic shoes, used to securely attack someon walking on the external surface of a craft in space; and the Restrainer Rays, used to contain subjects during use of the Visi-Scanner, at least.

    Examples of their other scientific skills include genetic engineering, such as their "mutant race."

Traits:
    The Rigellians are governed by a technocracy whose officials are chosen for their high intelligence. The leader of the Rigellian government is known as the Grand Commissioner and is the Rigellian judged to have the highest level of intelligence in the entire race.

    Rigellian culture ideally prided itself on transcending "outdated" emotions.

    Although they are primarily peaceful, they pursue an aggressive imperial agenda, constantly sending out agents titled Colonizers to find new worlds to settle.

    An individual Colonizer may lay claim to any habitable planet that he or she discovers that is not previously registered within the Rigellian Division of Claims. The first task of every colonizer is to learn all that could be learned about conditions on a target planet. If the Colonizer official's claim is approved, he or she becomes emperor or empress of the new colony, and its absolute ruler, in the eyes of the Rigellians

    The Rigellians were given to racial prejudice for most of their history, giving little consideration to the rights of the sentient beings whose planets they chose to colonize. The Rigellians would use their advanced technology to force the inhabitants into submission, such as relocating a planet via their spacelock, utilizing the change in orbit to cause extreme effects on a planet's climate.

    Even within their own race, the Rigellians were prejudiced against "mutant" members of their species (including those that they had genetically engineered), prohibiting them from living within their most advanced cities.

    The Rigellians specifically considered the New Men of Wundagore II as little more than beasts.

    However, the Rigellians are also members of the Intergalactic Council (and subsequent iterations) and the Charter.

History:
(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - The Rigellians originated on the planet Rigel-3, the third planet from the star Rigel, in the Milky Way Galaxy (see comments).

(Iron Man I#111 (fb)) - Rigel-3, the Rigellians' homeworld, was huge beyond measure, but as the Rigellians had an extended lifespan, new generations sprung forth far apace of death.

(Thor I#218 (fb) - BTS / Iron Man I#111 (fb) / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - As the Rigellians' own numbers threatened to crush them, which was exacerbated by their own distate for dwelling closely together, they took to space, colonizing other worlds in various galaxies.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - The Rigellians took care to not intrude on the spheres of influence of powerful galactic empires, such as the Kree, Shi'ar and Skrulls.

(Iron Man I#111 (fb)) - Nonetheless, Rigel-3 continued to hold the great mass of the Rigellians. 

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - The Rigellians tended to seek worlds that had an environment comparable to their homeworld.

(Thanos#2 (fb) - BTS / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Update#3: Rigellians entry (fb) - BTS) - "Long ago," the Rigellians colonized the world of a race of analytical think-tanks who became like clerics in the Rigellian regime. This species ultimately went extinct under unrevealed circumstances but inspired the creation of Recorders, humanoid robots designed to probe uncharted areas of space for information gathering and analysis.

   The Recorders began to be used as the official Rigellian archivists.

(Iron Man V#7 (fb)) - Created "eons ago" by Rigellians along with a batch of other Recorders, Recorder 451 was sent out to gather data, with the plan of returning to the Rigellians, sharing its recordings, having its mind wiped and then sent out again.

(Iron Man V#7 (fb) - BTS) - However, 451 had a bug in its system that allowed him to resist his programming to return and be mind-wiped, and so he accumulated massive amounts of data and knowledge over the eons. Eventually, it concluded that it was not enough to watch, but that it had to act as well. Going rogue, it disguised itself to prevent its masters from discovering and recovering it. It then began traveling the universe and helping people the best it could.

(Hulk II#45 (fb)) <48,000 B.C.> - In an early attempt at conquest of Earth and presumably prior to the development of faster-than-lightspeed travel, the Rigellians sent a Cosmoreceptor pod that contained the compressed knowledge of Rigel and power cells to maintain generation. The pod's purpose was to prepare a subterranean chamber for the arrival of the stage two cosmo-ligand, which contained 10 million blastocysts chosen for colonization.

    This process was initiated for over 100 compatible planets throughout the Edzar Galaxy

    On Earth, the second stage was damaged by cosmic ray activity. Before this receptor could extend the membrane probe, primitive hominids found the transport and consumed the 10 million potentials.

    After 5000 cycles passed with no attempt of contact from a colony to the mother system, another stage two is designated. Ten such intervals (50,000 years) passed with no arrival.

(Annihilation Conquest#6 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, presumably time-traveling Rigellians encountered an impenetrable barrier at the end of timespace. The matter was generally not discussed for reasons unrevealed.

(Thor I#218 (fb) - BTS) - Some Rigellian children (including Tana Nile) were told the legend of the Black Stars, although many considered it only a legend to frighten children.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile) - The Colonizers of Rigel selected planets for absorption into the technocratic Rigellian Empire, whose member-worlds spanned the Milky Way, Andromeda, and other galaxies.

(Thor I#130 (fb) - BTS / Thor I#134 (fb) - BTS) - Rigellian culture ideally prided itself on transcending "outdated" emotions.

(Thor I#160 (fb) - BTS) - Rigel-3 possessed a shield that protected them from detection by the likes of Galactus.

(Guardians of Infinity#2 (fb) - BTS) <circa 1000 A.D> - Tua Zon joined the Guardians of the Galaxy (Aerolite, Astrolabe, Hightower, Stella Nega).

    Circa 1016 A.D., the Guardians established a temporary base on Earth at the settlement of Tal Edra in Iraq to study a mysterious trans-temporal sky structure.

(Guardians of Infinity#1-8) - When members of the Guardians of the Galaxy of the 21^st (Drax, Rocket (Raccoon) and Groot) and 31^st Century (Vance Astro/Major Victory, Martinex and Nikki) emerged from the Structure into their era, Tua Zon and his Guardians briefly battled them before joining forces to defeat the threat of Hermetikus and liberate the Newcomers/Highbreed he had converted.

(Thor I#400) - Catapulted across time and space streams by their battle, Thor and Surtur encountered Rigel-3. One of the Rigellians reported, "According to our instant computer analysis, those two giants were being catapulted across the space and time streams by an unknown force, which was almost completely exhausted." As they vanished, another Rigellian wondered where and when they would reappear.

(Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile) - Rigellian colonizers had avoided Earth due to its size and relative unimportance.
    Given various retcons, it would seem likely that the Rigellians pretended that Earth was unimportant to gloss over their embarassing failures of colonization in the past...and perhaps, over the succeeding millions of years, that this assertion came to be assumed as fact.

(Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS) - The Rigellians on Rigel-3 were threatened by the menace (Ego the Living Planet) within the Black Galaxy (actually a bioverse, rather than a galaxy).

(Thor I#133 (fb) - BTS) - For ages, Ego the Living Planet tested the smallest portion of his power by destroying any Colonizer ship from Rigel that ventured too close to him. Ego soon realized that the Colonizers were helpless to defy him.

(Deadpool IV#34 (fb)) - While Ego fended off discovery by Rigellian explorers for millennia, its moon Id wanted to socialize. Bored, Id struck out on his own in search of excitement.

(Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS) - Allegedly, the only being to have ever resisted the Rigellian mind-thrust was the being within the Black Galaxy, although the Rigellians did not know Ego's identity at that time. Many Rigellians lived in dire fear of this being.

(Thor I#132 - BTS) - Although the Rigellians could accurately chart the Black Galaxy, no Rigellian who entered the Black Galaxy survived to tell of it.

(Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile) - Neophyte Colonizer Tana Nile considered that Earth would be the perfect stepping stone for her.

(Thor I#129 (fb) - BTS / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile) - Seeking to better familiarize herself with humanity, Tana Nile adopted human form, answered a personal ad for a roommate, and moved in with nurse Jane Foster in an apartment in Manhattan, New York.

(Thor I#129) - After Thor visited Jane, Tana considered that Thor should not return to Earth again as it would spoil her carefully laid plans.

(Thor I#130) - Tana commanded Jane Foster to take a long journey and to never return. This journey eventually took her to Transia and led to Thor's involvement with the High Evolutionary and the New Men.

(Thor I#131) - Reverting to her true form, Tana contacted Command Planet Rigel-3, reaching the Division of Claims and registering her claim to Earth. While Tana noted that Earth (on "the perimeter of sector five") was unregistered and she wanted to claim full colonization rights, the Division representative told her that they must check their file of "fringe area galaxies," and they instructed her to maintain contact.

    After a computerized survey lasting but a brief micro-second, the Division confirmed that there were no claims in that space sector, that all was in order, and that they would dispatch an official inspection team at once: As soon as this team would transmit their report, their claim would be approved.

    Tana countered that they must send no inspection team, as if they were observed, it might lead to battle. However, the Division representative told her that Colonizers were invincible and that nothing could affect them, except the menace of the Black Galaxy, of course. He then notified her that inspectors had been dispatched and that she should await their arrival. As the Division representative ended the transmission, the inspectors ship departed, noting their star drive to be operational and that their destination was Earth.

(Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS) - The inspectors arrived on Earth, parking their ship on top of the Town Tower, Jane Foster's apartment building, rendering it invisible (presumably with their Visi-Rod), after which they convened with Tana Nile. 

(Thor I#131) - As Thor approached Jane Foster's apartment, one of the inspectors blasted him away. Recovering, Thor smashed his way into the apartment, at which point Tana used a Mind-Thrust to force him to his knees. After Tana revealed her plans for Earth, Thor began to force his way back to his feet. One of the inspectors then instructed Tana to remove her mind-thrust, and he used a Proton Coagulant Beam at maximum intensity, sealing Thor in a proton cage.

    The inspectors then prepared to take Thor back to Rigel-3, hoping that by studying him (as he had resisted the mind-thrust), they could find a way to defeat the one within the Black Galaxy (Ego). After adjusting Tana's wrist-control so that she could activate the Space Lock at will, the inspectors used their Gravity Nullifier to transport the Proton Cage down the hallway. When they encountered other resident(s), they caused the human(s)' memory to fade within five "earth-time" seconds. After they reached the roof top, one of the inspectors used the Visi-Rod to make their craft visible, while the other guided the proton cage into their ship via the gravity nullifier; noting that they did not receive compensation for overtime, the latter inspector assured the other that he would not waste a single moment. 

    They then set their ship on a robot control trajectory back to Rigel-3, during which time Thor -- having played along to learn more of the Rigellians -- shattered the proton cage.

    Meanwhile, Tana Nile contacted "Power Planet 4, Constellation Rigel," and requested a Space Lock be energized. The Space Lock was indeed energized, and it sent a beam across space, containing Earth within its grip.

    Thor subsequently engaged the Rigellian inspectors, who mentally adjusted their density to enable them to resist any physical force. After Thor crashed futilely against them, one of inspectors explained the situation while another another delivered a punch with the force of a "cosmic tornado." Nonetheless, Thor pummeled the inspectors into submission, and he resolved to remain a passenger on the ship as only on the home planet of Rigel could the fight to save mankind be truly won. 

(Thor I#132) - As Thor approached Rigel, the Rigellians aboard Sky-Station 14-R ordered the approaching craft's pilot to identify himself and his spacecraft. Though Thor did not respond, the Rigellians observed him via viewscreen on the ship, and they determined that he was not one of the Colonizers and must therefore be an enemy. Introducing himself and describing his titles, Thor noted that he was neither friend nor foe but demanded they remove the spacelock from Earth or suffer his wrath. 

    In response, a ship containing a group of Rigellians, who vowed that none threatened the Colonizers, departed the Sky-Station and confronted the approaching ship. Via a bridge of ion-packed atoms, they gained entrance to the invader's ship, and when Thor confronted them from the other-side of the "bridge," their leader tried a mind-thrust, which -- presumably due to his previous experience -- he easily resisted. As they prepared their anti-personnel blasters, Thor hurled Mjolnir at them, and they blocked its strike with a group mind defense. They then intensified their force to "cremation level," but they found that they could not destroy it, even at peak intensity, after which Mjolnir broke away from their power and struck them. When Thor challenged them anew, the Rigellians agreed to his demands to bring him forthwith to Rigel.

    From Rigel, the Colonizers sent an Indestructible to deal with the powerful approaching threat, but Thor incapacitated the Indestructible by turning its own immobilizer beam back on it. 

    Meanwhile, a deadly beam from within the Black Galaxy (presumably from Ego) destroyed a Rigellian space cruiser. 

(Thor I#132) - Observing this space cruiser's destruction within Control Central from Rigel-3, the Grand Commissioner was concerned of the dual threats of the Black Galaxy and the invader from Earth's solar system; however, he conceived of a way to solve them both. The Grand Commissioner then had an attendant activate the matter transmitter to send him to their Power Planetoid; stepping into the structural dissembler, he emerged in the structural restorer on the closely-guarded Power Planetoid.

    Swiftly arriving there, the Grand Commissioner confirmed that their observo-lenses were still tracking the invader's approach, after which he noted that they must protect the Space Lock at all costs. Tractor beams pulled Thor away from the Space Lock as he approached it, bringing him down to the planetoid where he overpowered Rigellians seeking to stop him. When Thor turned anew to the Space Lock, the Grand Commissioner bade him halt, introduced himself, and told him of the threat of the Black Galaxy. 

    Taking Thor to the Tower of Telescopes, the Grand Commissioner showed Thor the Black Galaxy and promised to release Earth from the Space Lock if he could stop the the menace that threatened to break out of its shadowy confines and which would presumably destroy Earth and eventually the universe. 

    After Thor agreed to enter the Black Galaxy, the Grand Commissioner had Recorder#211 accompany him and record whatever he learned in case he never returned. 

(Thor I#132 - BTS) - Aboard a Rigellian starship, Thor and the Recorder entered the Black Galaxy, finding it instead to be a Bio-Verse, composed of living biological matter.  Therein, they were confronted by Ego the Living Planet.

(Thor I#133) - As local police assumed her to be crazy, Tana Nile contacted her superiors "via direct solar beam" to prove her point and requested that the space lock pull Earth out of orbit at a more rapid rate; however, they informed her, by order of the Grand Commissioner, that Earth was to be freed of the space lock and that she was ordered to end her colonization and return to Rigel. 

    Though Tana asked for further explanation, the transmission was closed.

(Thor I#133 - BTS) - Thor defeated Ego, who vowed to seal itself off in his bio-verse and to never again attack Rigel or other galaxies. 

(Thor I#134 (fb) - BTS) - While waiting for the return of Thor and the Recorder, the Rigellians tracked a "bright mass of energy" (Galactus, although this was not known to them at the time), noting with concern as the mysterious object leaped across countless light years of space with unbelievable speed and streaking toward them. At first they thought it to be a gigantic star, but their Specto-Scanner revealed it to be instead smaller than a star, though with even greater energy. 

(Thor I#134) - As Thor and the Recorder approached the periphery of Rigel, a previously-programmed Colonizer Sentry Ship fired a mesa beam that drew them into the ship. The Rigellians praised Thor's success, and they assured him they had already given the order to declare Earth's solar system off-limits to the Colonizers. 

    When the Recorder sensed a rapidly approaching massive power source and noted that it was on a collision course with their ship, the Rigellians ordered "time warp escape drive -- mach thrust," and they rapidly departed. 

    The Rigellians informed Tana Nile that the Space Lock on Earth had been removed and that Earth was not to be colonized. They subsequently returned with Thor to Earth and collected Tana, using a compellor beam to force her to enter the ship that awaited them on the roof. One of the other Rigellians then gave Thor a Psyche-Search gauge, which would allow Thor to locate Jane Foster via her life force aura. 

    Once they entered the ship, the other Rigellians told Tana that since Rigel had been saved from the threat of the Black Galaxy, she would receive the highest reward for her part in their good fortune: The High Commissioner had chosen her to be his wife, and she would rule a galaxy alongside him. Having loved the Commissioner from afar for years, Tana was happy to return to Rigel.

(Thor I#155) - On the world of the Colonizers, the Grand Commissioner noted to his associate (possibly the Scientist Supreme) that their ionic probe-scopes were detecting deadly pulsations from the other end of the universe that were so powerful they "could only mean the end of all of life is near at hand."

    Suspecting that the menace lied within the Black Galaxy, the Grand Commissioner's associate ordered Recorder#211 to investigate that realm.

(Thor I#155 - BTS) - Investigating the Black Galaxy and Ego itself, the Recorder observed that all was as it had ever been, and it concluded that the answer to the "greatest threat of all time" must be found elsewhere.

(Thor I#160 (fb) - BTS) - To address the threat of the immensely powerful Galactus and the weakening shield that had hidden the Rigellians from Galactus' detection (which threatened not only the worlds of Rigel but its neighboring star clusters, and potentially the universe itself), Tana was sent to recruit Thor's aid via Rigellian spacecraft.

(Thor I#160) - Tana informed Thor of a threat to many worlds (and galaxies). After Thor agreed to help, she led him aboard her ship, and they departed Earth; en route, she detailed the threat of Galactus, and they observed a number of ships and beings fleeing Galactus-ravaged worlds.

    At Rigel-3's Control Central (per the Thor Index), Tana and Thor soon after met with the Grand Commissioner who told Thor that his people had hidden from Galactus in the past via a shield that was growing weaker over time. The Grand Commissioner sent the Recorder to join Thor against Galactus, and the two boarded a craft that would take them to Galactus.

(Thor I#160 - BTS) - The craft carried Thor and Recorder#211 into the Black Galaxy where Galactus was confronting Ego. The energies released between the two cosmic combatants destroyed their craft.

(Thor I#162) - Having saved Ego from Galactus, Thor and the Recorder were returned by Ego to Rigel, and Thor noted that Rigel's ever-orbiting satellites of defense seemed truly endless in number. Eventually, a gleaming multi-purpose space station, poised above the heart or Rigel, drew them to its center, and the Recorder asked the Rigellians who met them to bring them to the Grand Commissioner. 

    Via the Grand Commissioner's porta-communiscreen, Thor's success was electronically flashed throughout the galaxy, and the Grand Commissioner praised Thor 's strength and valor before instructing the removal of the Recorder's memory bank and the Recorder's subsequent deactivation. However, at Thor's insistence, the Recorder's memories were instead transcribed (by Tana Nile), and the Recorder was allowed to remain active and retain his memories. Thor then departed via Mjolnir, returning to Asgard.

(Thor I#201 (fb)) - The Grand Commissioner summoned Tana, telling her that while they could not colonize Earth, they needed an Earth-type world for unspecified reasons. With only primitive planets of that type available, the Grand Commissioner sent Tana on a mission into the Bioverse/Black Galaxy.

(Thor I#201 (fb) - BTS) - Tana landed on the surface of Ego, blasting free a living slab of stone and placing it within a special isotope container on her ship. 

    Tana then sped to the the galaxy's "eastern rim" and landed on a planet (which was somewhere in the stone age, with Neanderthal like people being present) called Blackworld by humanity while being nameless to the Rigellians.

    While Blackworld was rapidly terraformed using the portion of Ego, the portion of Ego itself evolved into Ego-Prime.

(Thor I#201 - BTS) - Ego-Prime ultimately destroyed Blackworld.

(Thor I#216) - In a Rigellian city, Rigellian music could be heard in the distance.

    Ignoring this, the Grand Commissioner -- curious as to why Tana Nile had not reported back since being sent to terraform Blackworld -- demanded to see a report of Tana's current activities. One of his men showed him a tablet with imagery and told him that Tana and several Asgardians were involved with Xorr the God-Jewel. Interested that Xorr had at last awakened, he noted that they must observe the situation carefully in case Xorr became a threat.

(Thor I#216 (fb) - BTS) - Monitor 12 received an image...

(Thor I#217 (fb) - BTS) - ...of the Black Stars approaching Rigel...

(Thor I#216 (fb) - BTS) - ...via the viso-scanners, and he rushed to show it to the Grand Commissioner.

(Thor I#216) - Monitor 12 then rushed in and delivered the report to the Grand Commissioner. Appreciating a calamity the likes of which Rigel had never seen, the Grand Commissioner ordered the readying of the transport ships so they could flee the planet at once.

(Thor I#217 (fb) - BTS) - For six days, the Grand Commissioner watched the multitudes board the giant vessels of the Rigellian fleet, each day praying that the threat might turn aside.

(Thor I#217) - As the Rigellians continued to board the giant ships, the Grand Commissioner spoke to an aide, considering that perhaps they should face their foes and die with honor. However, he ultimately resolved that it was his duty to preserve their race and that leaving their homeworld was not so terrible as they were the Colonizers and that it was their destiny to wander, colonize, and rule. When an aide reported the the Black Stars would reach Rigel within a fortnight, the Grand Commissioner dismissed him, aware of what he must do and wishing to hear no more.

(Thor I#217 - BTS) - In Asgard, Tana listened as Odin announced a threat that would first destroy the world of the Colonizers and then the worlds of men.

(Thor I#218 - BTS) - Tana joined Balder, Silas, Sif, and Thor aboard the Starjammer in an Odin-directed mission to investigate the menace to the Rigel.

(Thor I#218 / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians (see comments) - As the deadly Black Stars (led by the Rhunians) approached, the nine billion Rigellians still living on Rigel-3 escaped aboard a fleet of gigantic starships via the plan of the Grand Commissioner. 

    Over seven hundred such ships were part of this fleet, with each ship having 5000 chambers, each of which held thousands of Rigellians.

(Thor I#218) - Colonizer 12 reported to the Grand Commissioner as the last of the ships had taken off and the command planet was deserted. While Colonizer 12 praised this as a miracle, the Grand Commissioner lamented that they should not boast of their cowardice and that there was no honor in what they had done, merely expedience. Nonetheless, the Grand Commissioner agreed that there was no hope to withstand the Black Stars and that there would not have been honor in facing them.

    The Grand Commissioner further noted that this flight was only a temporary solution as the Black Stars would eventually reach them wherever they went.

(Thor I#218) - Asgardians Thor, Sif, and Balder, accompanied by Tana Nile and Blackworld's Silas Grant traveled to Rigel-3 and encountered the Rigellian mutants Bolaa, Gerr, Jukka, and Tryx soon assaulted them.After a brief conflict, the mutants accepted Thor's offer to join them in locating the Rigellians. 

(Thor I#218 - BTS) - Shortly after the Starjammer's departure, the Black Stars arrived and destroyed Rigel-3.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - Virtually all of the mutant worker race were left behind and destroyed along with Rigel-3.

(Thor I#218 - BTS) - Guided by Jukka's knowledge of Rigellian navigation charts he had glimpsed, the Starjammer caught up to the Rigellian fleet.

(Thor I#218) - When the Colonizer ship nearest them fired on the strange craft approaching (as the Grand Commissioner had ordered that none may impede their journey) with its space cannnon

    After the blast struck the Starjammer, Thor flew to the attack, and the Rigellian mutants donned their spacesuits to join him in battle. 

(Thor I#218) - Soon after Thor's allies joined the battle, the Grand Commissioner ordered an end to hostilities and invited the Asgardians, Tana Nile, and Silas Grant aboard; however, they insisted that the mutants remain aboard the docked Starjammer.

    The Grand Commissioner explained that the mutants could not come aboard because if his people learned of their presence aboard the woefully-overcrowded flagship, they would rebel. Acknowledging that it was a barbaric custom, the Grand Commissioner noted that these were barbaric times and that the danger of a potential riot was inconceivable. The Grand Commissioner then related the immense threat of the Black Stars.

(Thor I#219) - Encouraged by Sif, Thor and his allies resolved to end the threat of the Black Stars.

(Thor I#219-220 - BTS) - The Rigellian mutants joined with Thor and his other allies to confront the Rhunians and peaceably end their threat.

(Thor I#221 (fb) - BTS) - The Asgardians brought Tana and Silas Grant to the Colonizers' fleet, where the Starjammer/Spacejammer was repaired.

(Thor I#221 (fb)) - The Grand Commissioner thanked Thor, noting that they owed them more than they could ever repay, a sentiment that Silas echoed, adding that he had become good friends with Tana and had decided to stay with her.

(Thor I#221 (fb) - BTS) - The Rigellians were sublty changed -- more tolerant, more understanding -- better for the nightmare they had suffered.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Update#3: Rigellians) - With the shake-up following Rigel-3's destruction, a small number of Rigellians became mercenaries, committing crimes on an intergalactic scale. These included Gunthar, a lieutenant of Nebula, and Cordon of Sandorr's Hunters.

(Captain Marvel I#27 / Captain Marvel I#31) - At least one Rigellian was among the "intergalactic hordes" serving Thanos as his "Thanos-thralls."

(Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS / Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - A group of Rigellians were seemingly/allegedly separated from the main fleet by a cosmic storm. They were apparently uncertain whether the main fleet had survived.

(Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - In actuality, the power-hungry Arcturus had deliberately separated his group from the main fleet, as he felt that he had stood too long in the shadow of the Grand Commissioner and now sought to colonize and conquer under his own name and to build a galactic empire under his rule. 

(Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - Although Earth had been declared off-limits to the Colonizers of Rigel, Arcturus' fleet set an egg-shaped observation base in the inhabitable Blue Area of Earth's moon. 

(Avengers I#69 - BTS; Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Finding an abandoned ship of the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror (Nathaniel Richards), Arcturus' group claimed the Growing Man to serve as their emissary in their sector, planning to send him on a scouting mission.

(Iron Man I#109 (fb) - BTS / Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Under unrevealed circumstances and for unrevealed reasons, the Growing Man was briefly stationed at the Rigellian observation base in the Blue Area of the Moon before being relocated to Stark International.

(Fantastic Four I#175 - BTS/  Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Finding Galactus' abandoned ship (after his seeming death following the consumption of the planet Poppup) circling Earth's sun, Arcturus fleet confiscated Galactus' Punisher robot and then transported it with them when they traveled in search of a new homeworld.

(Thor I#256 (fb) - BTS) - The main Rigellian fleet subsequently colonized a new homeworld, which they also named Rigel-3.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians) - This world, also within the Milky Way Galaxy, had an environment that was virtually identical to the previous Rigel-3's, which served as the new throneworld for the Rigellian Empire.

(Thor I#423 (fb) - BTS) - This homeworld was so developed and covered with technology that not a square foot of barren earth existed.

(Thor I#256 - BTS) - The Recorder informed Thor that the Colonizers of Rigel had sent him for aid from their new homeworld.

(Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Thor told Iron Man that the Rigellians had found a new homeworld.

(Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - The Rigellians serving Arcturus believed themselves to have found a new home when one of their space probes discovered Wundagore II. Not knowing the world's history, they considered it to be huge, alive, and lacking a sentient race. 

     The Rigellians found traces of a once-thriving civilization, but they saw only wild beasts foraging in its cities. The Rigellians were overjoyed, and they considered that this world would be New Rigel.

    When the Rigellians' exploratory craft landed, the wild beasts fled, but cosmic radiation born by the ship from its journeys through space somehow caused the beasts to re-evolve back into the forms of the New Men, bereft of the savagery that had previously afflicted them. Speaking and clothing themselves, the New Men returned to their cities to see if they could recall what had caused them to devolve. 

    Whether they learned what had happened to them, they recalled that they were the Knights of Wundagore and that they had returned to their home. 

(Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - From space, the Rigellians watched in horror as they saw "New Rigel" slipping from their grasp.

     Although there was plenty of room on the planet for them all, the Rigellians were unwilling to live with beasts, and the Knights of Wundagore were willing to fight to keep their world and drive off the invaders. 

(Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - Prior to any actual war being declared, the Rigellians allegedly attacked and wounded a number of the New Men. The Rigellians also allegedly tortured some of the New Men for information.

(Iron Man I#108 - BTS / Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Stark International agents unwittingly activated the Growing Man before its programming completed, and it sought a power source to help it locate Kang. Iron Man ultimately subdued the Growing Man.

(Iron Man I#109 - BTS) - After Jack of Hearts and S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists determined that the Growing Man had been on Earth's moon before its arrival at Stark International, Jack and Iron Man traveled to the Blue Area of the Moon via an Avengers Quinjet. 

(Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - After Russian forces detected energy transmissions on the moon, Crimson Dynamo, Darkstar, and Vanguard were sent to investigate via a Russian ship.

(Iron Man I#109 - BTS) - Both the American and Russian heroes' ships were struck by a sonic attack and crashed near the egg-like observation base. After the heroes discovered the "egg" to have caused their crashes, the egg activated again, and a portal opened. Iron Man and Jack of Hearts entered the portal, which closed behind them. 

(Iron Man I#109 - BTS / Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Earth heroes Iron Man and Jack of Hearts were transported to Arcturus' command ship. The Rigellians assaulted the intruders, who broke free of their Proton Cage and swiftly took down their blaster-wielding soldiers. The Punisher was then summoned, and it subdued the pair.

(Iron Man I#110) - Arcturus then appeared and introduced himself to terran heroes, explaining how he had acquired both the Punisher and the Growing Man. Paralyzing them with a mind-thrust until he could learn why they had arrived there, Arcturus had them taken prisoner while noting that they were preparing for the final battle in the war of colonization with the resisting inhabitants of Wundagore II. While held by restrainer rays, the two were subjected to a Viviscan Probe under the direction of Observer XJ-17

    Arcturus subsequently received a report from one of his agents  (the Rigellians in this story are all virtually identical, except for the goatee-wearing Arcturus) on how Iron Man's power was derived from his life-sustaining encasement while Jack of Hearts was essentially pure energy and that his armor was containing that. The same Rigellian then noted that while the terrans were very powerful, they meant no harm but had merely traced them to their observation base via the Growing Man, who had been prematurely activated.

    Arcturus considered that, given time, they could duplicate Iron Man's armor, but that they had neither the time nor the need, as the Wundagorians were too primitive to resist them for long. However, the ship was then rocked by an assault from the Knights of Wundagore, causing Arcturus to exclaim, "Prayers of our forefathers...What?" and also incapacitating the restrainer ray, freeing Iron Man and Jack of Hearts. 

    The Rigellians were shocked to find the Wundagorians as having progressed from their previously savage states: Wearing space suits and astride their atomic steeds as well as dragonfly-like ships, the Knights of Wundagore -- including Sir Lepard, Sir Lyan, Sir Ossilot, another Sir Ram and many others -- assaulted Arcturus' fleet. 

(Iron Man I#111) - The Rigellians in the command ship called an alert to battle stations as their space shields had been breached. When a blast from the Knights hit a fuel storage cell, the explosion hurled Iron Man from the Rigellian ship into the middle of the attacking Wundagorians. 

(Iron Man I#111 - BTS) - After witnessing the Rigellian ship's' blasts killing a pair of Knights (Sir Lepard and Sir Ossilot), Iron Man resolved that Wundagore II belonged to the New Men, and he assaulted the Rigellian ship, taking out its main gun. Nonetheless, he was eventually struck by power-lance bursts from the Knights (who assumed he had caused Lepard and Ossilot's death) and photon torpedoes from the Rigellians and crashed on the surface of Wundagore II. The Knights then retreated back to their mother ship, 

    Meeting with Sir Lyan and learning his people's history, Iron Man further resolved to join the Knights against their attackers. Meanwhile, Observer YJ-18 told Jack of the Rigellians' history, and Jack appreciated that the colonizers considered the New Men to be inferior beings. 

(Iron Man I#111) - Arcturus subsequently told Jack that they could find no trace of Iron Man and that the New Men must have slain him. Jack requested to search for Iron Man on his own, but Arcturus denied him, noting that this was war and not a scouting party. Arcturus asked Jack to aid the Rigellians in defeating "these animal scum," but Jack told him to fight his own colonial wars. Jack further told Arcturus that he was sympathetic to the natives, but that his primary concern was recovering Iron Man and returning to Earth. Arcturus then admitted that he had arranged for his fleet's having lost contact with the rest of the Colonizer, as he wanted to colonize and conquer in his own name. He then stated -- despite the objections of YJ-18, who reminded him of the oath sworn to Thor -- that if Jack refused to help him take Wundagore II, he would take Earth in its stead.

(Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - Atop an atomic steed and wielding an energy sword, Iron Man led a charge of Knights from out of their mother ship. 

(Iron Man I#112) - Jack refused to aid Arcturus, who further considered that he might use Earth to settle at least some of his enormous fleet and use it as a power base from which to challenge the Grand Commissioner. After Arcturus threatened to send the Punisher to Earth, YJ-18 told him that he had not the authority to countermand the Grand Commissioner. In response, Arcturus announced that his authority was absolute while imprisoning YJ-18 in a Proton Cage, and then denouncing him as a traitor.

    Jack threatened to inform Arcturus' crew that he had intentionally led them away from the rest of the Colonizers, but he was interrupted as the Knights assaulted the ship 

(Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - With the Rigellians' space screens weakened from the earlier attack, Iron Man led the Knights to breach and board the command ship, although he warned the Knights that the Rigellians' weaponry still exceeded their own. 

    The battle swiftly spread to the entire Colonizer fleet, and blasters cracked and defense shields fell as New Men and Rigellians locked in deadly hand-to-hand combat. 

(Iron Man I#112) - When Iron Man and Jack of Hearts confronted Arcturus, the Rigellian commander -- protected by his force field -- considered that the heavily armed re-evolved Knights, joined by the terran super-humans, actually posed a threat to his fleet, and that he needed to create a diversion. He sent the Punisher robot under his control to attack Earth via the transport chamber back to the observation base on Earth's moon. Iron Man pursued the Punisher while telling Jack to stay and assist the New Men. 

(Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - Iron Man followed the Punisher to Earth and eventually subdued him. 

(Iron Man I#112) - Realizing the battle was going against him, Arcturus offered to allow the New Men to keep Wundagore II if they helped the Colonizers take over Earth, commenting on how humanity had made the New Men outcasts, Rigellian Recorder#211 then arrived, having tracked Arcturus via the transport egg's signal beam. The Recorder related that the Rigellians had since found a new homeworld, and it stated that Arcturus' deliberately breaking contact with the fleet, his attempting to colonize without authority, and his threatening the restricted Earth had all broken Rigellian law. The Recorder then noted that it had been authorized to strip Arcturus of his rank and title.

    Denouncing Arcturus as a traitor, the Rigellians then arrested him.

    Declaring the war against the New Men to have been illegal and to now be over, the Recorder then used the Transport Egg to return the Knights of Wundagore back to the Arcturus' fleet's command ship, from which they could return to Wundagore II. 

(Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - The rest of Arcturus' fleet was subsequently reunited with the rest of the Rigellians on this new Rigel-3, while the Recorder vowed to destroy the transport egg after Iron Man, Jack of Hearts, and the Soviet Super-Soldiers returned to Earth in the spacecraft the Recorder provided.

(Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - Arcturus was presumably taken to Rigel-3, although his fate is unrevealed.

(Avengers I#255, 257-260) - Gunthar served in Nebula's Freebooters, stealing Thanos' Sanctuary II ship and assaulting a Skrull fleet until being transported away by a confused Beyonder.

(Secret Wars II#5 - BTS) - The Beyonder traveled to Worldcomplex Headquarters of the Celestials. In the boardwalk tourist section, he ordered a beer. The server asked if he wanted Rigellian, Skrull, or...and the Beyonder clarified that he wanted an Earth beer...good stuff...and the server poured him a a glass of Iron City.

(Avengers West Coast I#48, Avengers I#311, 314, 316-318) - Gunthar served Nebula in her efforts to obtain the Infinity Union.

(Force Works I#14 (fb) - BTS) - An unidentified Rigellian Delegate was amongst the many extraterrestrials aboard the massive, two-mile-long Skrull Tribunal ship, the inhabitants of which -- including the Quo Modari and a number of unidentified refugee races -- sought to bring the members of the Kree Starstealth to justice for their crimes against various other worlds and races.

(Force Works I#14) - The Rigellian delegate examined but was subsequently slain by a renegade Recorder, which had been reprogrammed (presumably by the Supreme Intelligence) to serve the Starstealth and to manipulate events to provoke dangerous actions that it could witness.

(Force Works I#14 - BTS) - Scarlet Witch destroyed the renegade Recorder.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#2/3 (fb) - BTS) - Rigellian Colony World#827, which included an unidentified Recorder unit, was assaulted -- and the energies of their central computer network drained -- by the enigmatic exttraterrestrial race known as the Dance.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#2/3) - As the Rigellians considered flight, their Recorder unit transmitted "a stellar call for help on all frequencies."

    Receiving the distress call, Sundragon traveled to Rigellian Colony World#827. When communication proved unfruitful and was met with assault by the Dance, Sundragon -- having learned all she could about the Dance via the Recorders' memory banks -- drained the power of every energy output device on the Colony World#827. With nothing left to gain from the colony world and facing the threat of Sundragon if they failed to depart, the Dance indeed departed.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#2/3 - BTS) - The Dance subsequently attempted to protect an unidentified alien world from a comet. Appreciating that the Dance ship -- having failed to gain the power they needed from Rigellian Colony World#827 --  would fail to save the world and perish in the process, Sundragon destroyed the comet and saved both the planet and the Dance ship.

(Starmasters#1 (fb) - BTS / Starmasters#3 (fb) - BTS / FF: 50 Fantastic Years) - Axi-Tun leader Votan's agents stole a Rigellian Planet-Lock device, which they used to transport and launch immense planetoids to cause extinction-level events on target worlds.

(Starmasters#1 - BTS) - Votan's agent's Ramrog's ship used the Planet-Lock to transport their Planetoid Bomb device to slay the inhabitants of Arcturus IV.

(Starmasters#1 - BTS) - When the Charter approached Earth to establish peaceful relations, Axi-Tun leader Votan's agents released their "hybrid cosmic plague" into the Hub base, headquarters of the Charter, which killed everyone aboard -- all 10,451 Charter delegates aboard the Hub-- with the exception of the visiting Quasar.

(Starmasters#3 (fb) - BTS) - Three Rigellians were on the Hub and perished in this attack.

(Starmasters#1) - The Axi-Tun framed Protector of the Universe Quasar for the slaughter via altered video footage. Tana received the broadcast, noting the impertinence and wondering how Earth had changed since last she visited it.

(Starmasters#1 - BTS) - Votan's agent's Ramrog's ship used the Planet-Lock device to send a planetoid to destroy Earth. The planetoid was ultimately destroyed by the combined efforts of Beta Ray Bill, Quasar, and the Silver Surfer.

(Starmasters#3) - Prime Administrator Tana Nile led a group of three organic beings and 24 Recorders to the Hub to investigate the cause of the deaths of the Charter delegates. She ordered Recorders 501-507 to perform autopsies on seven delegates of different species and Recorders 403-405 to go to the life support generator and take a chromographic reading. When Recorder#901 reported that the Hub's telemetric system recorded a disturbance by Earth, Tana instructed 901 to contact Rigellian High Command and determine if any of their Planet-Lock devices had been reported stolen or missing.

    Receiving a summons from Trimeth at freight dock 149-Q, Tana Nile had Recorder 901-E accompany her to document the findings of the Mneena search party. Arriving at the freight dock, they found Trimeth and the other two organics in the custody of a group of Axi-Tun warriors led by Dampyre and Throk. When Dampyre ordered Tana to surrender or they would kill their captives, Tana surrendered.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#4) - Within the chambers of the Rigellian High Command, the ruling council gathered to view a holographic message sent by Recorder 901-E discussing the slaughter aboard the Hub, Quasar (Wendell Vaughn)'s having claimed responsibility, the investigation parties' capture, and its detection of an "as yet unidentifiable chemical compound" within the ventilation system that it hypothesized to have something to do with the Charter members' deaths.

     The Rigellian High Command planned to begin proceedings to have the Axi-Tun investigated and, if found guilty, expelled from the Charter. Additionally, they considered that they must bargain for the return of Tana Nile as any rescue attempt would undoubtedly fail as long as the Silver Surfer stood with Quasar.

    Quasar, Morfex, and Xenith subsequently freed Tana and her associates from their detention cell. Via mind-thrusts, Tana confirmed Quasar's innocence and the Axi-Tun's guilt and goal of eliminating all other races in the cosmos.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#4 (fb) - BTS) - Days later, newly elected representatives from the member worlds gathered at the Hub to finalize sanctions against the Axi-Tun.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#5) - Tana joined the Star Masters in traveling to Tun to take Votan into custody at the Charters' request. Despite Votan briefly taking mental control of Tana and forcing her to dampen the will of the others, Tana ultimately facilitated the defeat of Votan and those Axi-Tun loyal to him. The Star Master's enforced Tana's decree to have Votan taken to be tried by the Charter.

(Daydreamers#2 (fb) - BTS / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile entry) - Back among the Rigellians following the Axi-Tun conflict, Tana perhaps came to perceive the Rigellian Empire's forced colonization practices as a possible precursor to the Axi-Tun's willingness to slaughter other races. No longer able to abide their "warped sense of manifest destiny," Tana, via  logical discourse and passive resistance,  took her message to the powers that be. However, her fiance', the Grand Commissioner, branded her a traitor and disavowed Tana to the Control Panel.

    Tana fled Rigel and returned to Earth, hoping to again find sanctuary with the Avengers.

(Generation X I#20, 23, 25, Daydreamers#1-3) - Tana Nile instead crashed in the Massachusetts Academy and was subsequently drawn into a number of pocket realities created by Franklin Richards' subconscious as part of his means of coping with the seeming death of his Fantastic Four family at the hands of Onslaught.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#11: Tana Nile (fb) - BTS) - Tana returned to the Rigellian Empire and was reconciled with her people.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb) / Thanos I#1 (fb) - BTS) - The ship of "Thanos" (actually one of the Thanos-duplicates known as the Thanosi, but unknown to any involved at the time) entered the atmosphere of "Rigel" without warning, effectively evading (per one of the Recorders) "the most sensitive and precise detection devices ever invented" and then sent the Mangog to devastate that world.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb)) - Despite their scientific accomplishments, the Colonizers could offer little in the way of adequate defenses. Within moments of the battle's start, the Rigellians realized the need for the ultimate counter-measure. The Grand Commissioner authorized the use of the Sun Shredder, willingly obliterating 422 square blocks of their capital city in an effort to save the greatest number of lives on their world. However, the Mangog was unharmed and continued its relentless rampage.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, the Thanosi duplicate entered the Rigellians' defense bunker in preparation of confronting the Rigellians there.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb) - BTS) - After over nine hours of continued assault by the Mangog, Rigellian losses were so catastrophic that an evacuation order was issued. The Rigellians scurried into immense space arks, although one of these succumbed to the Mangog's brutal assault, and 12, 216 Rigellian passengers perished.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb)) - Fearing the end was near, the High Commissioner Emeritus and his staff fled into a massive defense bunker built to withstand any attack conceivable. However, they encountered the already present "Thanos" who demanded they give him the Fire Jewel, which he would use via the Map of the All-Ending to locate the true path to the Designate (Tarene). 

    The High Commissioner Emeritus refused this request, after which the ship of "Thanos" let loose a searing radiation burst that ripped across the planet's surface with indescribable speed: In 11.7 seconds, the planet's remaining population was cut by 50%; in 24.2 seconds, only 12% of the people remained alive. 

    Feeling that he had no choice, the High Commissioner surrendered the location of Fire Jewel that Thanos sought -- despite the protestations of Tana Nile and others -- in order to save the remaining population.

    The ship of "Thanos" then ripped the protective vault out of its locks, taking the invaluable Fire Jewel.

(Thor 2000/2 (fb) / Thanos I#1 (fb) - BTS) - More than 5 million Rigellians during an assault on this Rigel-3 (by some accounts, 88% of the population was wiped out, which would have almost certainly been much more than 5 million).

(Thanos I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Rigel-3 was so badly damaged that the Rigellians abandoned it and established New Rigel-3.

(Thanos I#1 (fb) - BTS) - On a regular basis, the Rigellians used their planetary teleportational defense technology to discipline any unruly planets they had colonized.

(Avengers Infinity#1 (fb) - BTS / Avengers Infinity#2 (fb) - BTS / Avengers Infinity#4 (fb) - BTS) - As part of a plot to improve galactic energy function and the balance of the Multiverse, the Infinites sent their Servitors to Rigel-76, where they destroyed virtually every surface structure and slew all Rigellians and other lifeforms on the planet.

(Avengers Infinity#1-4) - Jack of Hearts arrived on Rigel-76, was overwhelmed by Servitors and sent a distress call that was answered by Quasar, Moondragon, Photon, Starfox, Thor and Tigra, but they were unable to prevent the Servitors breaking down everything on the planet's surface, burrowing down through the bedrock, and unleashing the fiery magma core. A Walker reshaped the molten remains of Rigel-76 into a metallic arc. Aided by the cosmic entity Eternity, the Avengers shared with the Infinites the diversity of life on a single planet, they realized they should not extinguishing such life. They abandoned their quest, and one of their number sacrificed its life to restore the various planets they had destroyed, including Rigel-76, which was restored as a verdant world, although animal life would only follow in time. No Rigellians or any other living beings present on the world were restored.

(Maximum Security: Dangerous Planet#1) - Nelet Pa and at least two other unidentified Rigellians as well as an unidentified Recorder were present with the Intergalactic Council during the discussions of humanity's threat to other worlds, during the introduction of the Ruul and the monitoring of the conflicts with Ego. Nelet Pa spoke out against humanity, blaming Earth-based hero Thor's entering the Black Galaxy for drawing Ego out of that realm, despite knowing that the Grand Commissioner had sent Thor into the Black Galaxy. Nelet Pa +/- the others participated in the M'Ndavian Justice decision to try to quarantine humanity on Earth.

(Maximum Security#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Council voted that that the human race was to be contained on their homeworld, and Earth's stellar system was quarantined. To distract humanity from freeing itself, the Council also decided to use Earth as a prison planet where the lawless, the unwanted and the untameable of the galaxies would be sent.

    Gunthar, along with Kehl, Levan and Skunge, were among those transmatted to Earth.

(Maximum Security#1 (fb)) - Once on Gunthar and his allies battled the Punisher (Frank Castle) and ended up imprisoned S.T.A.R.S. headquarters in Washington, D.C.

(Maximum Security#3 - BTS) - Nelet Pa -- as well as his associates and the Recorder -- was presumably still on Selandiar when the Kree Supreme Intelligence appeared to the Intergalactic Council in the Council Chamber and revealed how it and the Kree (as the Ruul) had manipulated them and had already begun to take back their interstellar empire.

(Thor II#41) - As Thor burned the Odinring during Odin's funeral, Rigellians were among those across the cosmos who noted Odin's passing.

(Fantastic Four III#51 (fb) - BTS) - Cordon was recruited by the bounty hunter Sandorr into his Hunters. Sandorr's Hunters were hired by the Shi'ar to kill the royal family of the Inhumans (Black Bolt, Gorgon, Karnak, Medusa, Triton).

(Fantastic Four III#51) - Cordon teleported himself and the rest of Sandorr's Hunters down from their ship to the Baxter Building, to which they had tracked the targeted Inhumans. Karnak tried shattering Cordon's armor, but there were no flaws so the blow hurt Karnak's hand. However, the Fantastic Four's presence/involvement led Cordon to teleport himself and the others back to their ship. However, Cordon allegedly died when an anti-alien defense satellite prototype shot and destroyed their spaceship as the group was fleeing Earth.

(Captain Marvel V#15) - A pair of Rigellians were involved with the Council (of Aligned Worlds?) who gathered to discuss the threat of Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell). Genis confronted and threatened the group, and even an assault in open space by many of the race's most powerful ships proved unable to harm Genis.

    After giving the Council a glimpse of the future of Earth-98120, in which the Council's members truly united to conquer the galaxy, Genis gave them a week to get their affairs in order, after which he would squish them like bugs.

(Captain Marvel V#16 - BTS) - The Rigellians were still present when Genis eventually departed, informing the Council that his previous warning/instruction remained. Lilandra subsequently warned Elysius that if she was not able to bring Genis under control, the Council would then target both Genis and her with extreme prejudice.

(Thanos I#3 (fb) - BTS / Thanos I#4 (fb) - BTS) - Requring an entrance from within Universe-616 to access that reality, the interdimensional universe-devouring parasite Hunger manipulated Galactus to this end by making him believe the energy patterns of the Infinity Gems matched the biospheric energy Galactus derived from consuming planets. His systems of logic manipulated, Galactus believed he could use the gems to end his planet-devouring needs.

(Thanos I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Galactus acquired four of the Infinity Gems (most likely the Mind, Power, Reality, and Time Gems; definitely not including the Soul Gem; see comments).

(Thanos I#3 (fb) - BTS / Thanos I#4 (fb) - BTS) - To acquire the fifth Infinity Gem (presumably the Space Gem; see comments), which was located in Reality-93060 (the "Ultraverse"), Galactus plotted to utilize the power of star 1857-C, the sun of Rigel-18.

(Thanos I#1 - BTS) - Thanos visited the devastated Rigel-3, contemplating the effects of his desire (and consequently, the doppelganger's desire and subsequent actions) and what his new role in the universe might be. He resolved to make amends for such consequences, and -- joined by Adam Warlock -- he traveled to New Rigel-3 within one of his dreadnought ships (which looked much like his Sanctuary ships).

(Thanos I#1) - As Sanctuary approached New Rigel-3, it and Thanos were detected, and the Rigellians -- justly thinking Thanos had returned to do them ill -- deployed their outer defenses; Thanos considered that if truly wished to harm them, he could do without ever coming into range of their sensors.

    Knowing that his dreadnought's defensive screens were more than capable of weathering any Rigellian attack, Thanos told Warlock that the trick to visiting New Rigel-3 was making the approach so rapidly that the Rigellians did not have time to exploit their planetary teleportational defense system.

    Thanos then teleported himself and Warlock directly to the Grand Commissioner's royal palace. A number of unmanned drones were then sent to attack Thanos, ignoring Warlock. After Thanos had switfly taken out these drones, a number of ground troops were dispatched.

    Withstanding repeated ray blasts, Thanos surprised all present by surrendering, even dropping to a knee as he noted that he had perpetrated heinous crimes against their world and population. Expressing his desire to aid the Rigellians in their adjustments to living on New Rigel-3, Thanos asked them how he may be of service.

(Thanos I#2 (fb) - BTS) - While Adam Warlock met with the Grand Commissioner to convince him of Thanos' sincerity, General Zygo and his troops led Thanos into the palace. Thanos allowed General Zygo to imprison him within a photon block.

(Thanos I#2) - With the conference witnessed by an unidentifed Rigellian Recorder, the Grand Commissioner agreed to Warlock's advice that he accept whatever Thanos would do for them with the goal of not enraging him by refusing his aid, but hoping to expedite Thanos' departure without conflict. 

     A coup was initiated against the Grand Commissioner by the Rigellian military led by Zygo, determined to relieve him of his duties due to perceived incompetence, notably due to the Grand Commissioner's handling of the encounter with the Thanosi doppelganger (although the Rigellians did not know that that was not Thanos himself); for his inaction concerning the crisis on Rigel-18; and for his willingness to consider dealing with Thanos.

(Thanos I#2 (fb) - BTS) - When Zygo's troops prepared to crush Thanos within the photon block, Thanos instead broke free and slew the 12 Rigellian troopers present with a brief, high-level gamma radiation burst.

    Thanos subsequently entered the adjoining chamber, bypassed security measures and accessed the central data bank. He subsequently built in new safeguards to better ensure the system's security.

    Analyzing New Rigel-3's current geopolitcal status, Thanos devised several means to improve the Rigellian's situation. He evaluated the genetic problem limiting beta-soy production, and he determined the solution to be adding "a couple of rungs to the plant's genetic ladder."

    Thanos also adjusted their planetary teleportational defense such that it would now come on line in half the time previously required, and he also added file 370VSHS-H0773, containing designs that would vastly improve the propulsion systems of their star fleet.

(Thanos I#2) - When Zygo and his forces attempted to imprison Warlock, Adam easily evaded and then subdued the soldiers -- the elite of their armed forces -- despite their technologically increasing their mass so that they were physically stronger than Warlock and their possession of blaster weapons capable of subduing him.

    Warlock noted their martial skills to be lacking, their offensive tactics to be basic, their defense to be pathetic and their marked lacking in fighting spirit. Warlock further stated that they lacked the brutal drive of the Skrulls, the disciplined tenacity of the Kree and/or the detached ruthlessness of the Shi'ar.

    After Warlock, the Grand Commissioner and the Recorder found the guards dead, Thanos detailed all of the improvements he had determined from a brief evaluation of their systems. As Zygo prepared to use a molecular disruptor weapon on Thanos, Thanos instead slew Zygo with an eyeblast, ending the coup.

    Offering his gratitude, the Grand Commissioner noted that Rigel-18 desperately needed Thanos generosity and that his resolving this matter would more than make up for any injury Thanos had done to his people in the past. 

(Thanos I#2) - After the Grand Commissioner provided the coordinates, Thanos opened a teleportational window, though which he, Warlock, the Grand Commissioner and the unidentified Recorder passed, arriving on Rigel-18.

    Observing Galactus' presence, Thanos noted that Galactus did not typically wait days before consuming a planet's life energies. Despite the magnitude of the threat, Thanos noted that he would honor his pledge to the Rigellians. He resolved that if they could determine Galactus' intentions, they might be able to induce him to relocate his operation; failing that, they might have to slay Galactus.

(Thanos I#3 - BTS) - Via assistance from Moondragon (Heather Douglas), Thanos met with Galactus on a psychic plane, seeking to learn the purpose of his actions and his plans for Rigel-18. When Galactus resisted divulging this information, Thanos tried to psychically overwhelm him, but Galactus cast him out.

(Thanos I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Thanos' meeting with Galactus at least delayed Galactus sufficiently that the Rigellians could be evacuated from Rigel-18.

    Additionally, Thanos had Pip the Troll, who retained teleportational powers from his previous possession of the Space Gem, plant a number of recording devices on Galactus' ship.

(Thanos I#3) - The Grand Commissioner confirmed that the Rigel-18 had been evacuated.

(Thanos I#3 - BTS) - Thanos' involvement caused Galactus to hasten his course of actions, and he activated his array, which tapped into Rigel-18's molten core, releasing and directing unidentifiable energies into his orbiting parabolic transmitter. This subsequently transformed the energies and directed them into the heart of Rigel-18's sun, causing it to go nova. Entering the core of the exploding star, Galactus opened an interdimensional portal, through which he reached into Reality-93060 and retrieved the skeleton of Rune, with an Infinity Gem (apparently the Space Gem) on its sternum, after which Galactus teleported back into his ship.

    Frustrated that Galactus' swift actions had prevented him from saving Rigel-18, Thanos nonetheless resolved to determine what Galactus was seeking to accomplish..

(Thanos I#4 - BTS) - After Thanos deciphered Galactus' files, he discovered Galactus' goal of acquiring the Infinity Gems as well as how Galactus had been duped.

    Galactus' Punishers then assaulted Thanos' ship and ultimately stole the Soul Gem from Adam Warlock -- both leaving Warlock incapacitated and giving Galactus the sixth and final Infinity Gem -- and destroying Thanos' ship (and the Recorder). Thanos, Pip, and Warlock escaped this destruction. 

    On the barren Rigel-18, Galactus had the Soul Gem placed in its proper position on the Focusing Crux.

(Thanos I#6 (fb) - BTS) - Thanos placed a "sizable nuclear arsenal" on the previous Rigel-3.

(Thanos I#5 - BTS) - Realizing the magnitude of whatever had led someone to manipulate Galactus, Thanos had Pip transport them both aboard Galactus' ship, where Pip planted strategic explosive charges while Thanos sought out Galactus via his ship's scanners.

(Thanos I#6 (fb) - BTS) - Thanos arranged a timed cut-off of Galactus' craft's power.

(Thanos I#5 - BTS) - Thanos futilely sought to convince Galactus to shut down his Focusing Crux. His logic affected by Hunger's manipulation, Galactus forced a confrontation, and Thanos was unable to stop him. Ultimately, Hunger began to emerge through the portal opened by Galactus. Taking control of Galactus' ship, Hunger prevented Galactus from shutting down his craft. 

(Thanos I#5 - BTS) - The charges placed by Pip then devastated Galactus' ship, causing it, Thanos, Galactus, and Hunger, to crash on Rigel-18. Hunger placed a force field around the Crux, preventing Thanos or Galactus from destroying it, and continued to pour into Universe-616.

(Thanos I#6) - Thanos had Pip transport Galactus some distance away from Hunger, but still on Rigel-18. Thanos's prearranged timed cut-off of Galactus' ship's power then took effect, deactivating the Crux and preventing Hunger from continuing to bring his full self into Universe-616. Thanos then used the Rigellian planetary defense system to transport the devastated Rigel-3 into close proximity with Rigel-18).

    Having placed the nuclear arsenal at Rigel-3's point of impact, Thanos allowed the gravitational pull to cause the two planets to crash together, and the nuclear explosion seemingly destroyed Hunger (although a small remnant survived unseen). Galactus survived this explosion, after which Thanos lectured him on acting rashly.

    Noting the presence of several suitable unihabited planets nearby with which Galactus could replenish his spent energies, Thanos asked him to please refrain from approaching any Rigellian planets.

(Thanos I#6 (fb) - BTS) - Thanos received the gratitude of the Rigellians, who assured him that any debt owed them was thoroughly discharged. They subsequently urged that he carry on with his travels.

(Annihilation: Ronan#1 (fb) - BTS) - Tana Nile became an infiltration agent on a Skrull hubworld, the planet Ak'sklo. There she was approached by a Kree representing the Kree Empire's ruling House of Fiyero, who claimed that Rigel-3's destruction years before, far from the presumed randomness of the Black Stars' travel, had been manipulated by an unidentified party.

(Annihilation: Ronan#1 (fb)) - In exchange for information on this person's whereabouts, Tana, in Kree court, provided false testimony incriminating Ronan the Accuser, formerly a hero of the Kree, of meeting with Skrull Baron S'Bak in a supposed Skrull/Kree plot to overthrow the Fiyeros.

(Annihilation: Ronan#2 (fb) - BTS) - Convicted of treason, Ronan was stripped of his Accuser rank and exiled.

(Annihilation: Ronan#3 (fb) - BTS) - The reality-altering Glorian, former apprentice to the Shaper of Worlds, took up residence on the planet Godthab Omega and began drawing beings of power and conflict there, intending to use the energies of their conflicts to transform the relatively barren and harsh Godthab Omega into a paradise.

(Annihilation: Ronan#1 (fb) - BTS / Annihilation: Ronan#2 (fb) - BTS) - Tana Nile traveled to Godthab Omega, presumably drawn there by Glorian, and she joined forces with Gamora's Graces.

(Annihilation: Ronan#2-3 - BTS) - Ronan pursued Tana to Godthab Omega, and as he battled Gamora, the Annihilation Wave arrived on Godthab Omega.

(Annihilation: Ronan#4 - BTS) - Tana was mortally wounded by the Annihilation Wave, dying before she could tell Ronan who had specifically arranged her betrayal.

(Annihilation#1 (fb) - BTS / 1-3 / Annihilation Saga) <Annihilation Day plus 183-212> - The United Front, a collection of forces opposing the Annihilation Wave, established a base on Daedalus 5 on the periphery of the Kree system. Mari, a Rigellian physician, became part of the medical support staff for the United Front. (Annihilation#3) - While futilely trying to fight off Ravenous, Mari was knocked into the seeming dead Super-Skrull (Kl'rt), knocking his slab into the inert Firelord, reviving both of them.     As Annihilus used the weaponized Galactus to destroy Daedalus 5, Phyla-Vell subsequently helped Mari into an escape starship. . (Annihilation Conquest#6 (fb) - BTS) - After the Kree Empire fell silent and was surrounded by a force wall by Ultron-led Phalanx, ships from the Rigellan colonies joined ships from "Imperial Sparta, the Galadorian Initiative...and even the Badoon Expulgence" in investigating. In nearly a month, however, all attempts at communication or penetration through the barrier failed. (Annihilation Conquest#6) - After the Badoon reported a ninth failure to breach the barrier with their continuum ram, one of the three Rigellian females -- aboard a Spartoi ship containing the Spartoi commander, and unidentified Galadorian Spaceknight and Kree Major Chell-Tek -- echoed concern that such a powerful weapon had failed, stating that the Rigellians had never encountered an artificial barrier of this magnitude. Another of the Rigellians noted the exception of what Rigellians had encountered "...at the end of time, obviously . But we never talk about that."     The Rigellians observed silently as one of the Spartoi noted the nearby creation of a gravimetric stargate, which turned out to be generated by Nova (Richard Rider), who brought with him fellow Guardians Drax and Gamora, as well as the Technarchy Warlock and Tyro. With other Guardians on Hala having damaged the Phalanx spire, Nova led his allies through the briefly weakened barrier.

(Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3 - BTS) - To locate Black Bolt, who was a captive of the Skrulls, Karnak determined that three items could be used to breech Skrull decryption security: (1) On Earth, a Skrull commander held prisoner by Thundra and her tribe of Femizons; (2) On "Rigel 3" (presumably New Rigel-3), a Rigellian Recorder that had cracked the Skrull communications algorithm; (3) On Pelagia, a Skrull beacon buried in the deepest trenches. (Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3) - With Lockjaw's teleportational range enhanced by Kree technology, he teleported himself, Gorgon and Karnak to the surface of Rigel-3. With Lockjaw presumably teleporting away again and awaiting a summoning, Karnak entered a library to access its database to dicern which Recorder they needed, while Gorgon went to the lower level storing the Recorders. Karnak was discovered by a Rigellian sentry, while Gorgon was surrounded by a group of large robots. (Secret Invasion: Inhumans#4) - Subduing the Rigellian sentry, Karnak subsequently advised Gorgon that the robots could be incapacitated by disabling their heads, allowing Gorgon to fight them off while he obtained the Recorder serial number, 236A67. After Gorgon located and claimed the needed Recorder, Karnak had Lockjaw teleport Gorgon and himself back to the Inhuman Royal Family's ship. . . (Secret Invasion: Inhumans#4) - With Triton having uplinked the Skrull communications hub on Pellagia, Karnak synched that with the Recorder, and then Crystal forced the Skrull commander they had recovered to reveal the password. They thusly accessed the Skrull database and then located and freed Black Bolt and Ahura.

(Nova IV#19 (fb) - BTS) - Irani Rael was one of my beings chosen as new Nova Centurions by the Xandarian Worldmind, alongside the Kakarantharan female Fraktur, Mephitisoid male Morrow, Manufactured Harmonite Qubit and Shi'ar Malik Tarcel.

(Nova IV#15 - BTS / Nova IV#19 (fb) - BTS) - When the Worldmind was damaged by Galactus, it alerted its newest Centurions to assist it.

(Nova IV#19 (fb) - BTS) - Following the Worldmind's trail, they finally located it on Earth's Project: PEGASUS (in which it had been re-housed), which was then under siege by Skrulls serving Veranke as the culmination of her Secret Invasion.

(Nova IV#18) - Irani and her fellow Nova Centurions arrived on Earth in time to destroy a Skrull ship preparing to destroy Project: PEGASUS.

(Nova IV#19 (fb) - BTS) - In the two days before the main story, Rider led the five Nova Centurions in four missions.

(Nova IV#19) - Alongside Rich Rider, Irani and the other new Nova Centurions took down the Serpent Society and Taboo, the Thing from the Murky Swamp.

(Nova IV#19) - Irani and the others returned with Rider to Project: PEGASUS where Rider was shocked to find several dozen new Nova Corps members, including Rich's younger brother, Robbie (and presumably other members of Project: PEGASUS).

(Nova IV#20 (fb)) - Irani and the others listened to Richard Rider's discussion with Robert on the appropriateness of his and the others becoming Novas until Richard yelled at them, at which point they departed.

(Nova IV#20) - Irani and the other Novas took down a rampaging Dragon Man.

(Nova IV#21) - The Worldmind uploaded itself into and took over Ego the Living Planet, transforming the planet into Nu-Xandar, which Irani and the rest of the Nova Corps subsequently inhabited. The Worldmind also manipulated the minds and hormones of the rest of the Corps to accept and be happy with these new plans. Under this influence, she also battled Rider.

(Nova IV#22 - BTS) - Richard Rider subsequently arranged to have Evelyn Necker summon Robert to Project: PEGASUS in order to determine if he was being mentally influenced by the Worldmind.

(Nova IV#22 (fb) - BTS) - Irani and Robert Rider at least partially blew out a hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico.

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#1) - After devastating attacks from Annihilus' Negative Zone forces and the Phalanx, the depleted ranks of the Galactic Council convened on Ovar. After the Kree ambassador argued that the authority of the Galactic Council could have prevented the recent catastrophes, the Rigellian representative replied that the Kree had not suffered alone during the Annihilation Wave; at his instruction, his Recorder noted that 3.279 trillion lives (perhaps Rigellian vs. all races) were lost. The Kree ambassador interrupted, stating that Ronan had taken steps to ensure the Kree's survival and then asking if Rigel or any other empire could say the same.

    The Rigellian ambassador replied that Rigel agreed with him that the Galactic Council must be re-formed, although the withdrawal of the Shi'ar was most troublesome, and their lack of aid during the Annihilation Wave and the recent conquest of KRee space was even more so.

    An Ovoid ambassador agreed, adding that Ovoid scanners had intercepted a distress call from the Z'Nox, who had been invaded by Shi'ar forces; he further clarified that this was outside of the Shi'ar galaxy and that Lilandra Neramini had renounced expansion after the Kree/Shi'ar War. The Ovoid ambassador continued that if there were to be order, the Shi'ar must be involved, as they were too powerful to ignore, and that they would get an answer to this incursion from the Shi'ar Imperium, whoever may be running it.

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#2) - On the Shi'ar throneworld, Chandilar, the Rigellian ambassaor and his Recorder joined two Ovoid ambassadors, the Kree ambassador and two unidentified others in meeting with Emperor Vulcan. After one of the Ovoid ambassadors voiced the concerns of the Shi'ar's lack of support against the Annihilation Wave and/or the Phalanx conquest of the Kree. The Rigellian ambassador continued that the Shi'ar's recent expansions went against Lilandra Neramani's agreements with the previous Council, and he expressed that they had come to give him the opportunity to explain himself.

    After Deathbird informed Vulcan that the robot was a Recorder unit, Vulcan expressed his view of the Shi'ar role in universal affairs with an energy blast that left the entire group of ambassadors mostly skeletal. While the Recorder stated that it was in jeopardy, Vulcan advised it that he was not going to destroy it because he needed it to deliver a message: "Go back and tell the Council that it is officially dissolved. Any interference or resistance to Shi'ar action will be met with similar clarity."

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#3 - BTS) - Aboard the Ovoid ship Mindlight, the Recorder approached the Hala defense shield, and the Ovoids requested an audience with Ronan, noting that there was something that he had to see.

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#4) - On Hala, at least a pair of Rigellians and Ovoids were present as the Recorder showed Ronan the footage of Vulcan slaughtering the Galactic Council.

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#4 - BTS) - Ronan subsequently met with the Inhumans Royal Family, who had conquered the Kree, preparing to inform them of Vulcan's actions.

(Nova IV#23 - BTS) - The Worldmind reported and then accessed a stargate, transporting Nu-Xandar and all of its inhabitants to Shi'ar space to deal with violent transgressions of Emperor Vulcan of the Shi'ar Emperium against the Kree

(Nova IV#23 - BTS) - Irani Rael was assigned to strategic command.

(Nova IV#24) - Within Nu-Xandar's system of operations, Irani worked alongside Robbie Rider and Qubit, advising the Corps as they attempted to defend the Kree world Nil-Rast as Shi'ar forces attempted to annex it.

(Nova IV#25) - Under the Ego-corrupted Worldmind's control, Irani attacked Rich Rider until Rider incapacitated Ego.

(Nova IV#26) - Irani and Morrow accompanied Rich Rider to Nil-Rast in search of Rob Rider.

(Nova IV#27) - Irani and Morrow accompanied Rich to Kree-Lar in search of Rob Rider, encountering Blastaar, Negative Zone insectoids and the Strontian in the process.

(Nova IV#28) - As Rich defeated the Strontian, Iran incapacitated her Praetorian teammate Pn'zo and then joined with Rich in subduing the symbiote Zzxz and its unwilling host, Raza Longknife. Irani and the others subsequently happily accepted Rich's recommendation that they start with this group and build the Nova Corps from there. Nu-Xandar later exited a stargate in the vicinity of the Vault, from which they received a distress signal from the Xandarian Resolute Duty ship.

(Nova IV#31 (fb) - BTS) - The rebuilding process demoted Irani and her original teammates down to Millennians, while Robbie Rider, Lindy Nolan and Tre Owens became Corpsmen.

(Nova IV#29) - Irani joined Rich, Fraktur and Morrow as they flew to investigate the Resolute Duty, within which they encountered bounty hunter Monark Starstalker, having traveled from Reality-7463 via the Fault, whose use of nanotech against the Worldmind allowed Ego's mind to surface. The ship was further assaulted by the Black Hole Sons (a group of perhaps Reality-7463 Mindless Ones serving the Mind(ed One).

(Nova IV#30) - Rich took Philo Zan and Morrow with him as he flew to confront the Black Hole Sons, leaving Irani behind to watch over Starstalker, whose injuries by the Black Hole Sons revealed him to be a nannite construct. Via stargate, Rich transported the Black Hole Sons into Ego, forcing the latter to transport away.

(Nova IV#30 - BTS) - Rich convinced Philo Zan to take over in training the newer Novas.

(Nova IV#31) - The Worldmind reported to Irani and the others the loss of Nova Prime's life trace as the planet Shard shattered.

(Nova IV#32 (fb) - BTS) - The Sphinx (Anathna-Mut) transported Richard and Darkhawk across time and space.

(War of Kings: Warriors#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - At least one rifle was made, combining Rigellian precision and Badoon lethality.

(War of Kings: Warriors#1/1 - BTS) - After Vulcan had conquered the plant Thrnn, he delivered a speech, during which a native -- stationed across the city on a distant building attempted to assassinate Vulcan with a Rigellian-Badoon rifle. However, Gladiator spotted him, caught the bullet and then slew the assassin with his eyebeams.

(Realm of Kings: Imperial Guard#3) - On the planet Ovar, at least three Rigellians attended a meeting at the former seat of the Galactic Council (also attended by Ovoids, Kree (with Karnak of the Inhumans speaking for them, with Lockjaw at his side), and the Shi'ar (with the female Araki and Admiral Ka'ardum standing behind Gladiator (Kallark)).

    Karnak proposed rededication of the Galactic Council, as formalized authority in the quadrant had been lacking since Vulcan's murder of the Council members who had met with him. As backed by Inhuman Queen Medusa, Karnak advised that, in the wake of war, the senior races of the galaxy resolved to offer external governance to the collected races of this stellar neighborhood.

    One of the Rigellian representatives interrupted, noting that that was all very well but that the Rigellians wished to know what safeguards were in place against further Shi'ar aggression (as had been demonstrated by Vulcan). Although briefly imaging fatally blasting that Rigellian in the face (as he did in Reality-33160), when called upon for a response, Gladiator asked if they could adjourn for a short break.

(Nova IV#36 (fb)) - Irani and the other younger Novas stayed with Philo and watched over the Fault while Rich and Darkhawk traveled to Project: PEGASUS to deal with the Cancerverse (Reality-10011)'s Quasar and associates. 

(Thanos Imperative#1) - Irani and the others aboard the Resolute Duty at the mouth of the Fault battled Cancerverse natives.

(Thanos Imperative#6) - A Nova-empowered Quasar led Irani and the rest of the Nova Corps to assist Galactus against the Cancerverse's Galactus Engine.

(Thanos Imperative#6 - BTS) - In order to combat the Revengers, Nova called on the Worldmind to give him every bit of power it could, which he acknowledged would strip power from all known Nova Corps members (including Irani).

    As the rest of the heroes beamed out of the Cancerverse, Rich Rider and Star-Lord stayed behind to ensure Thanos remained within as the entire reality collapsed.

(Thanos Imperative#6 - BTS) - Irani and the rest of the Nova Corps attended a ceremony in Attilan to honor those who had fallen, including Rich Rider.

(Hulk II#45 (fb) - BTS) - With 50,000 years having passed with no arrival of a stage two cosmo-ligand pod, physical colonization was abandoned, and a secondary goal was accepted. To spread Rigellian culture, the homing signal was activated again, and a man, near death in the desert, heard it and contacted the receptacle. The man was brought to the chamber containing the Cosmoreceptor and was joined to it. The power and potential within were released into the man, who used his new power to revive his wounded tribe and then activated the bio-lab modules, unwittingly using ones that gathered and studied local fauna: This resulted in hybridization of humans and local fauna.

    Overwriting the native host for Rigellian indoctrination failed, and subsequent attempts to undo the merge also failed, and the native, Dagan Shah, aka Sultan Magus.

    Shah subsequently used the Rigellian resources to manipulate hydrogen, creating a new water supply and terraforming the desert while harnessing geothermal power to run the city of Sharzhad and protect it with an impassable dome.

(Hulk II#43 - BTS) - Investigating the power from Sharzhad, Aaron Stack (aka X-51/Machine Man) identified the energies as non-Terran, specifically Rigellian.

(Hulk II#43) - The Red Hulk (Thaddeus Ross) and Stack contacted the Rigellian cosmoreceptor, which detailed the Rigellian's technology's activities and the empowerment of Dagan Shah, the Sultan Magus.

    Ross reasoned that the Rigellian technology -- made to work with a bunch of clean slates -- was unable to imprint on the mind of a warrior who had gone through hell for years to stay alive.

(Wolverine & the X-Men#7) - Professor Xanto Starblood was the head of the Intergalactic Anthropology Department at the University of Rigel-3.

(Guardians of the Galaxy: Infinite Comic#1: Drax the Destroyer#1) - As a bored Drax the Destroyer drank himself into a stupor in the top floor of some sort of bar, Sacino (of the Rigel Tribe of Fire) and her allies confronted him and attacked him. Smashing their way down to the ground floor, Drax incapacitated if not slew his attackers and then departed with Star-Lord (Peter Quill) on a mission.
  

(Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - An unidentified Rigellian programmed Recorder 451. (Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - After Iron Man brought the brain-dead Recorder 451 to Stark Mansion in hopes of salvaging its database. Recorder 451 leaked an energy/transmission on a frequency not detected by Tony or Arno Stark that affected the rings of the Mandarin via a quarantined Makluan/Kakaranatharan artificial intelligence weapon for use when the rings were separated from their wielders. The program guided the rings to analyze the situation of a planet and try to push it toward something more favorable to general cosmic principles, such as an empire or monarchy.     Long-term contact with the Mandarin also left a psychic imprint that left a residual animosity toward Iron Man (Tony Stark). (Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - After recapturing the Mandarin's rings and/or subduing their users, Tony and Arno Stark contacted S.W.O.R.D.'s diplomatic division to communicate with the Rigellians. (Iron Man V#28) - Accompanied by at least five conventional Recorders, the Rigellians who had programmed Recorder 451 traveled to Earth to claim Recorder 451, arriving in under 24 hours.     As the conventional Recorders transported 451's containment vessel through the air, possibly via a gravity nullifier, 451's programmer explained how he had created 451 and how 451 had affected the rings. He apologized for 451 and his affect upon Earth and assured Stark that he was not to blame for bringing 451 back to Earth.      Noting it was a pleasure meeting Stark of Earth, the Rigellian departed with his Recorders and 451 in a containment device aboard their ship.

(Guardians of the Galaxy IV#19) - After the Guardians of the Galaxy and a coalition of Earth heroes subdued Thanos, Irani and other members of the Nova Corps arrived to take custody of Thanos, saluting Star-Lord or someone in the process. (Avengers VI#687 (fb) / Avengers VI#681 (fb) - When the Elders of the Universe Grandmaster and Challenger decided to play a game of champions against one another, the Grandmaster chose the Rigellian alien Mentacle to join his "Lethal Legion."       Mentacle was summoned alongside the various other aliens chosen by Grandmaster and tasked with defeating the Challenger's champions, the Black Order, warning that if they failed, they would be returned to certain death. Grandmaster also told Mentacle and the Lethal Legion that they would defeat the Black Order by obtaining cosmic pyramoids for game points. (Avengers VI#676 / Black Panther & the Agents of Wakanda I#3 (fb), Avengers VI#677-678, 681-684) - Mentacle and her Lethal Legion teammates battled and were ultimately thwarted by the Avengers and the Black Order. (Avengers VI#690) - Following the defeat of both Grandmaster and the Challenger, Mentacle joined her Lethal Legion teammates at Ala's Bar in Knowhere, where she asked her teammate Ferene if she was leaving the group.      Ferene replied in the affirmative, claiming her time with the Lethal Legion had reached its end but Captain Glory suggested Mentacle and the others should remain together. (S.W.O.R.D. II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Mentacle was apparently recaptured by the Rigellians and convicted with a sentence of two years of diplomatic service. (Black Panther VII#7, 8-10 - BTS, 10-11, 12, 14-16, 20-22) - Taku and the Maroons aided T'Challa against the Empire of Wakanda, eventually slaying its corrupt leader, N'Jadaka.

(Guardians of the Galaxy VII#7 (fb) - BTS) - Conscripted into diplomatic services, Mentacle was the Rigellian delegate at a "meeting of the Galactic Powers" aboard the Proscenium in the unaffiliated space at the Galactic Rim, alongside Kymellian ambassador Nymbis Sternhoof, Zn'rx Emperor Stote, Kree Captain Val-Lorr (subaltern to Kl'rt, second diplomate for the Kree/Skrull Alliance), Shi'ar representative Oracle-2, Nova Prime (Richard Rider, acting ambassador extraordinary for Earth), Zoralis Gupa (native of Silnius, representing the Galactic Rim Collective), Empress Victoria (Queen of Spartax), Chitauri diplomat-drone Peacebringer, Noh-Varr (aka Marvel Boy, diplomat for the Utopian Kree of Reality-), Kl'rt (aka Super-Skrull, first diplomat of the Kree/Skrull Alliance) and the Profiteer (who was secretly posing as the Badoon Sisterhood''s Lani Ko Ako and sought to prevent an alliance in order to be able to sell more weapons).      When Emperor Stote departed to use the bathroom, Mentacle telepathically confirmed his intent.      Changing form, the Profiteer mortally wounded Emperor Stote in the bathroom. (Guardians of the Galaxy VII#7) - After Nova, Noh-Varr and "Lani Ko Ako" arrived. Nymbis questioned the absence of Stote, and Mentacle confirmed his intent, leading to objections on the use "aggressive telepathy." (Guardians of the Galaxy VII#7 - BTS / (Guardians of the Galaxy VII#8 (fb) - BTS) - Noh-Varr discovered Stote seconds before he died, noting that one of the delegates was a shapechanger. Assuming Noh-Varr to be the murderer, Val-Lorr fired on him and was slain by his own weapon (which had been designed and distributed by the Profiteer so that it would slay the wielder if he or she fired on a Utopian Kree). (Guardians of the Galaxy VII#7) - The sound of the gunshot drew Kl'rt and then the other representatives, and Noh-Varr was accused of murdering both parties. Rocket (Raccoon) was designated as an impartial party to investigate the double murder. (Guardians of the Galaxy VII#8) - During the investigation, Mentacle telepathically confirmed that Oracle, Noh-Varr, Kl'rt and Zoralis Gupa were all innocent. After Peacebringer set off a countdown on its explosives, intending to offer peace in the form of quick and merciful death, Rocket corrected identified "Lani Ko Ako" as an impostor and as the Profiteer, having masked her thoughts from all of the telepaths in the room. Reports of assaults by Knull strippling multiple planets of life in moments convinced the Profiteer to abandon the idea of causing war as recent events could bankrupt the galactic economy and make the various races unable to afford the Profiteer's weapons. She therefore teleported away with the Peacebringer, saving all of those present in the Proscenium. (Wakanda I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Based on an idea of M'Baku, Taku worked with Vibraxis (N'Kano) of Wakanda Prime to design a phase platform such that when N'Kano's vibrational powers matched the encrypted frequency, anything inside the dome was phased instantly to another platform on another world. (Wakanda I#2) - Taku aided the Empire of Wakanda in thwarting efforts of the Pride of Ghekre to destroy the Turkana's Triump co-op. Despite the capture of the pride's leader, L'Krah, his followers continued to target former slaves seeking to turn former slave mines into worker-owned co-ops. Nonetheless, Taku advised M'Baku that L'Krah's defeat was sent to his acolytes, stewards and Ghekres, inspiring them to target the empowered throughout the Empire. (S.W.O.R.D. II#6 / / Wakanda I#2 (fb)) - ) - Mentacle was present at a meeting of Galactic Council on S.W.O.R.D.'s Peak's Diplomatic Suite One "The Stranger Room," which also Noh-Varr, Nova (Richard Rider), Nymbis Sternhoof, included Orbis Stellaris (representing the Galactic Rim Collective), , Empress Kuga of the Zn'rx, Riitho of the "Intergalactic" Empire of Wakanda, Paibok of the Kree/Skrull Alliance, Smasher (Izzy Kane, a human Superguardian, representing the Shi'ar Empire) and Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord, representing Spartax). Additionally, Frenzy (Joanna Cargill) was present, representing Krakoa. Abigail Brand discussed the mutants terraforming Mars into Arakko.      When Nymbis commented, starting with "I don't mean to be rude," Mentacle interrupted noting that she had telepathically confirmed that he did in fact mean to be rude. After various members discussed the limited significance of this terraforming, Brand then introduced Wiz Kid (Takashi Matsuya) and Manifold (Eden Fesi), and the former of them impressed the representatives with the revelation of the meta-material Mysterium, which only mutants could create. They further donated one hundred tons of Mysterium to each of the races present. In return, they asked that the galactic races choose Arakko as the primary planet in the Sol system with which they would deal in the future (instead of Earth).     The meeting was interrupted by Dr. Doom, who demanded to know who ruled Arrako (and by extension the Sol system), and Storm (Ororo Munroe) arrived and announced that she was. (Phoenix I#4) - Aboard the New Proscenium, Mentacle again represented the "House of Rigel" in the Galactic Council alongside Nymbis Sternhoof, the Skrull Paibok (representing the Kree/Skrull Alliance), Smasher and Empress Kuga of the Zn'rx Empire. Gladiator (Kallark) spoke to the group, asserting that the Phoenix (Jean Grey) was a danger that they must control. Mentacle argued that she had so posed no threat and that they could not charge her for crimes not yet committed, but Gladiator insisted that the Phoenix had lost control in the past and that many, many lives were lost because of it. He asserted that the Galactic Council was responsible for doing everything in their power to protect their peoples. He then introduced the Dark God Perrikus, who showed them as Phoenix battled Gorr the God-Butcher. (Phoenix I#5) - After Phoenix resurrected from death and transformed Gorr into a star to nourish an entire ecosystem of planets, Mentacle agreed with Gladiator, asking what was their purpose if the Phoenix was dispensing her justice at will, and that there should be a process. Phoenix spoke to the Council, explaining that All-Black had replaced Gorr's heart and that she had to divest him of this weapon, which would have been fatal, and so she made something good come from his death. Gladiator terminated the communication, and Perrikus promised to deal with the Phoenix in exchange for Thanos taling over leadership of the Galactic Council. (Imperial I#1) - Mentacle was present with the Galactic Council and numerous representatives of extraterrestrial races when Emperor J'son revealed the murder of Spartax's Empress Victoria and proclaimed one of the aliens present to be the murderer. Shocked at the accusation, Mentacle questioned several other Rigellians near her as to what J'son had just said. (Imperial I#2) - The Rigellian ship Man-of-War was invaded by the Black Panther and his Hatut Zeraze who swiftly subdued the guards intending to prevent them from reaching the command deck.      However, the Wakandans were then confronted by the Hulk and Brawn (Amadeus Cho), and they briefly battled before they were assaulted by Skrulls loyal to the legacy of Veranke. (Imperial I#2 - BTS) - Shi'ar Hobgoblins and other Superguardians loyal to the current incarnation of Electron captured Deathbird and Magestrix Xandra and then detonated the stargate, trapping the other factions on the other side. (Imperial War: Black Panther#1) - As the Hulk smashed the Skrulls, Brawn noted that some of the Skrulls were wearing Rigellian or Hatut Zeraze uniforms, and he correctly suspected that the Skrulls were manipulating events. Meanwhile, the Black Panther escaped the Man-of-War. (Imperial War: Black Panther#1) - With over half of the other empires' ships being without power and otherwise being greatly outnumbered by the Interstellar Empire of Wakanda, the Black Panther arranged a meeting with Kree, Kymellian, Rigellian, Shi'ar and Spartax representatives.     Meeting aboard the Shi'ar ship K'lyon after an agreement of honor with Gladiator (Kallark), the representatives confronted the Skrull captives. When the Kymellian representative noted the matter to be holy war, the Rigellian representative replied, "That is a reductive description of what the prisoners have stated. If we have the time, I can share the full transcript." The Black Panther simply replied, "We do not," and the Skrull voiced their loyalty to Veranke. (Imperial I#3 - BTS) - Trapped within a mystic bubble on an asteroid, Hulking told Wiccan that while they had heard a message from Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord), that no one could here them because the only ship that had come close enough to them for them to message was "that Rigellian frigate. But they probably ignored us on purpose." (Nova Centurion#1) - An unidentified Rigellian was aboard the Barathi pleasure, which became trapped in the gravity well of a black hole and was saved by Nova (Rich Rider). Although Nova exhausted 64% of the Worldmind's reserves in accomplishing this, no one aboard the Barathi was willing to pay him any compensation.

   

(Black Panther: Intergalactic#3) - An apparent Black Panther duplicate (cyborg copy?) addressed the "Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda" (appropriate if you include Earth in the Milky Way and whatever galaxy Wakanda's interstellar empire is in), noting his desire to replace T'Challa as a more perfect and immortal emperor.      Amongst those hearing the message (and thus "Wakandan") were at least 1-3 beings with enlarged craniums who may have been Rigellian and who were wearing some sort of Wakandan headdress.

    WHERE:

• Stan Lee originally described Rigel-3 in Thor I#131 as "a planet so large, in a galaxy so distant that it beggars our poor mortal power of description."
• Thor I#155 noted it to be a thousand galaxies away (although an editorial note stated that to be an approximation, noting that they'd have to check Thor I#131 to be sure).
• Thor I#162 (also Stan) referred to the "Rigel Galaxy."
  
• The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#8: Appendix to Alien Races: Rigellians entry noted the Rigellians to dwell on Rigel-3, Rigel System, Milky Way Galaxy. At the time of that entry, the Rigellians were on this Rigel-3 (the one they occupied after the previous Rigel-3's destruction at the hands of the Rhunians, which was later abandoned after being devastated by one of the Thanosi and then destroyed by being crashed into Rigel-18 by the real Thanos to thwart Hunger).
• The climate, gravity and atmosphere referenced in that entry were subsequently given as the stats for the original Rigel-3, but the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians entry noted that the Rigellians had found a new planet within the Milky Way Galaxy whose environment was virtually identical to their previous homeworld.
  
• Given the Rigellians' nature, it seems quite likely that they either sought a world with conditions matching their original homeworld
• Additionally, they have demonstrated terraforming abilities, and so they may have terraformed their new homeworld to match that original homeworld's conditions.
  
• The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe II (Deluxe Edition)#11: Rigellians entry noted that the Rigellians originated on the planet Rigel-3, the third planet from the star Rigel, which is in the Milky Way Galaxy. That would refer to this Rigel-3 (the one that was eventually destroyed by the Rhunians).
• That entry noted that previous sources referring to Rigel as being from another galaxy were in error.
  
• That source incorrectly specified the number as nine million Rigellians who escaped Rigel-3 before its destruction.
  
• The correct number as per the original story is nine BILLION.
• New Rigel-3 (which became the Rigellian homeworld after they abandoned the Rigel-3 destroyed by one of the Thanosi) was noted to be in the Rigel System, Milky Way Galaxy in Guardians of the Galaxy Infinity Comic#1: Drax the Destroyer (2013).
• I think we can be reasonably confident that their homeworlds were not all within the same star system, especially as they searched extensively for a new homeworld across space after the Rhunians destroyed Rigel-3.
  
• While it was not explicitly stated, I think it makes the most sense that when they found and named a new homeworld "Rigel-3," they also renamed their new homeworld's star "Rigel."
  
• I'm not positive that New Rigel-3 was not in the same star system as the previous Rigel-3, but I believe it was more than a trip within the same star system when Thanos and Adam Warlock traveled between the two worlds in Thanos I#1.
  
• Anyway, that presumably means that there are presumably at least these two to three stars named Rigel in different locations within the Milky Way Galaxy
• It has been speculated that New Rigel-3 was transported to the previous location of the Rigel-3 destroyed by the Rhunians.
  
• We do know that both Rigel-3 (destroyed by the Rhunians) and Rigel-3 (devastated by one of the Thanosi) were in proximity to the Black Galaxy and were menaced by it.
•     Why would the Rigellians have chosen another world so close to the Black Galaxy after their previous problems with it?
• In Iron Man I#110, Earth's moon was referred to as "star sector five"

RELIGION and CULTURE

Very little is known of Rigellian religion and culture, just a few vague references:

In Thor I#218, the Grand Commissioner noted that the Rigellians were colonizers because they "hate the stink of bodies around us," and they sought other worlds to relieve the overcrowding on their own world.

Per Imperial Guardsmen#2, Nanoquants may be comparable to Terran/Earth minutes.

Carol "Captain Marvel" Danvers: "Christopher (Powell/Darkhawk) wanted you to know that's twenty-eight Earth minutes."
Amadeus "Brawn" Cho:  "What, uh, other kind of minutes are there?"
Carol: "You know, just in case you thought we were using Skrullian Klrbs or Rigellian Nanoquants."

    Reading the full scene in context, it's possible that Nanoquants aren't a real thing, Carol only paraphrased Chris, as he'd not known any alien units of time, and after she relayed the message he asked her if Klrbs were a real thing and she says no - so it's possible Nanoquants are similarly specious. 

For what it's worth, if the equivalent of minutes is NANOquants, and given that Rigellians are very logical, that likely means they go up with microquants being a thousand nanoquants, millquants being a thousand microquants, and a quant being a thousand milliquants. Of course, the writer Dan Abnett may or may not be mathematically inclined to that degree, and so have only picked nano because it sounds cool and scientific rather than having thought through the mathematical implications.

Other comments:

    In Thor I#131, it was noted that Rigellian colonizers had avoided Earth due to its size and relative unimportance.
    Given various retcons, it would seem likely that the Rigellians pretended that Earth was unimportant to gloss over their embarassing failures of colonization in the past...and perhaps, over the succeeding millions of years, that this assertion came to be assumed as fact.

    In the Thor I#400 appearance, the Rigellians did not seem to recognize Thor. I would think that given his saving of their world, he would have been known to them following Thor I#134, which makes me think that the appearance may take place prior to that issue (and likely prior to #129).

In Nevernevernarnozbia -- which was apparently a pocket/false realm created by Franklin Richards as part of his efforts to avoid dealing with the seeming deaths of his family -- Tana Nile introduced herself to Strange (a seeming counterpart to Dr. Stephen Strange) as a "warrior of Rigel-Z." --Daydreamers#1-BTS Note: Rigel-Z was included in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Update#3: Rigellians entry, and when I started this profile, no one remembered where the reference for Rigel-Z came from. I finally found it while profiling Nevernevernarnozbia's Strange.      Tana was never really a warrior, although she has certainly used her mind-thrust and density manipulation in combat on occasion. She was a colonizer and later a diplomat.      And what is Rigel-Z, and why/how was she "of it"? She had been present on the Rigel-3 destroyed by the Rhunians and the Rigel-3 destroyed by the Thanosi duplicate. I had initially speculated that they meant Rigel-2 (and that someone had just misinterpretted a "2" as a "Z," and that by that name, they were trying to refer to the second Rigel homeworld, even they both the first and second known homeworlds were both called Rigel-3. However, that is a pretty damn Z-like "2" if that was meant in that story.      I believe the best way to make sense of this without errata -- the NO-PRIZE solution -- would be that after the Grand Commissioner disavowed her, Tana Nile relocated to Rigel-Z, where she served as a warrior before fleeing to Earth...

(Thor I#132) - From Rigel-3's Control Central, the Grand Commissioner instructed an attendant to activate the matter transmitter to send him to their Power Planetoid; stepping into the structural dissembler, he emerged in the structural restorer on the closely-guarded Power Planetoid. --Thor I#132 Note: If he escaped the destruction of Rigel-3 at the hands of the Rhunians, he could have been the same attendant that operated the matter transmitter in Thor I#406.

(Thor I#218) - Colonizer 12 reported to the Grand Commissioner as the last of the ships had taken off and the command planet was deserted.      While Colonizer 12 praised this as a miracle, the Grand Commissioner lamented that they should not boast of their cowardice and that there was no honor in what they had done, merely expedience.      Nonetheless, the Grand Commissioner agreed that there was no hope to withstand the Black Stars and that there would not have been honor in facing them.      The Grand Commissioner further noted that this flight was only a temporary solution as the Black Stars would eventually reach them wherever they went.     When the Asgardian Starjammer caught up the fleet, the Rigellians, following the Grand Commissioner's orders that none may impede their journey, the ensuing conflict caused some of the Rigellians magnetic shoes to lose contact with the ship's hull. As they floated into space, the Rigellians called to Colonizer 12 to aid them.      Other Rigellians called for a rescue squad, and soon a Rigellian (possibly Colonizer 12) emerged from the ship and called an end to the fighting. Noting that the Asgardians may aid them in their coming struggle, the Rigellian first ordered that they retrieve their helpless compatriots and then brought the Asgardians and Rigellians into the ship. --Thor I#218 Note: Colonizer 12 is the figure in profile in the upper right of the image on the left. The figure in the foreground is the Grand Commissioner (in his atypical appearance featured in Thor I#216-219 and #221).      The Rigellian in the image on the right has a helmet symbol similar to Colonizer 12's, and he noted that the Grand Commissioner commanded a end to the fighting...but maybe it actually is the Grand Commissioner. His helmet symbol is different than the Grand Commissioner's, as seen in the foreground on the image to the left, but perhaps he put on a space helmet with a different symbol. He does not seem to have the mustache seen on Colonizer 12, but the Grand Commissioner in these issues looks like any other Rigellian, instead of his different colored uniform, more elderly features and beard, etc. The more I think about it, the more I think the image on the right is the Grand Commissioner.      Colonizer 12 may have appeared in other issues, but I don't think he was ever identified elsewhere. He was presumably behind-the-scenes in Thor I#219.      Despite the name similarities and appearances in the same story arc by the same creators, I don't think Colonizer 12 is the same character as Monitor 12, as the latter seemed to be working monitor duty and reporting to the Grand Commissioner when finding something of note, as opposed to ctively working with the Grand Commissioner and participating in conflict rather than . But, who knows?

. (X-Men: Kingbreaker#1) - After devastating attacks from Annihilus' Negative Zone forces and the Phalanx, the depleted ranks of the Galactic Council convened on Ovar.      After the Kree ambassador argued that the authority of the Galactic Council could have prevented the recent catastrophes, the Rigellian representative replied that the Kree had not suffered alone during the Annihilation Wave; at his instruction, his Recorder noted that 3.279 trillion lives (perhaps Rigellian vs. all races) were lost.      The Rigellian ambassador replied that Rigel agreed with the Kree ambassador that the Galactic Council must be re-formed, although the withdrawal of the Shi'ar was most troublesome, and their lack of aid during the Annihilation Wave and the recent conquest of Kree space was even more so.     An Ovoid ambassador agreed, adding that Ovoid scanners had intercepted a distress call from the Z'Nox, who had been invaded by Shi'ar forces; he further clarified that this was outside of the Shi'ar galaxy and that Lilandra Neramini had renounced expansion after the Kree/Shi'ar War.     The Ovoid ambassador continued that if there were to be order, the Shi'ar must be involved, as they were too powerful to ignore, and that they would get an answer to this incursion from the Shi'ar Imperium, whoever may be running it.

(X-Men: Kingbreaker#2) - On the Shi'ar throneworld, Chandilar, the Rigellian ambassaor and his Recorder joined two Ovoid ambassadors, the Kree ambassador and two unidentified others in meeting with Emperor Vulcan. After one of the Ovoid ambassadors voiced the concerns of the Shi'ar's lack of support against the Annihilation Wave and/or the Phalanx conquest of the Kree. The Rigellian ambassador continued that the Shi'ar's recent expansions went against Lilandra Neramani's agreements with the previous Council, and he expressed that they had come to give him the opportunity to explain himself.

. .     After Deathbird informed Vulcan that the robot was a Recorder unit, Vulcan expressed his view of the Shi'ar role in universal affairs with an energy blast that left the entire group of ambassadors mostly skeletal. While the Recorder stated that it was in jeopardy, Vulcan advised it that he was not going to destroy it because he needed it to deliver a message: "Go back and tell the Council that it is officially dissolved. (Thor I#406 (fb) - BTS) - The Rigellian homeworld was plagued by earthquakes. (Thor I#406) - An aide reported to the Grand Commissioner a recurrence of the earthquakes on their homeworld, noting that the seismograph indicated that the tremors grew more violent with each new assault.      Considering that their entire command planet would soon be in jeopardy and feeling that he needed to preserve their world at any cost, the Grand Commissioner traveled via the Rigellian matter transmitter to the Scientist Supreme's private laboratory in a planetoid in the asteroid belt.  --Thor I#406

(Thor I#131 - BTS) - In response to Tana Nile's registering her claim to Earth, the Division of Claims dispatched a pair of inspectors and informed Tana that she should await their arrival.  (Thor I#131) - The inspectors ship departed, noting their star drive to be operational and that their destination was Earth. (Thor I#131 (fb) - BTS) - The inspectors arrived on Earth, parking their ship on top of Manhattan's Town Tower, Jane Foster's apartment building, rendering it invisible (presumably with their Visi-Rod), after which they convened with Tana Nile.  (Thor I#131) - After approving Tana's claim and capturing Thor, the inspectors used their Gravity Nullifier to transport the Proton Cage to their ship.      After they reached the roof top, one of the inspectors used the Visi-Rod to make their craft visible, while the other guided the proton cage into their ship via the gravity nullifier; noting that they did not receive compensation for overtime, the latter inspector assured the other that he would not waste a single moment.      They then set their ship on a robot control trajectory back to Rigel-3, during which time Thor -- having played along to learn more of the Rigellians -- shattered the proton cage.     Thor subsequently engaged the Rigellian inspectors, who mentally adjusted their density to enable them to resist any physical force. After Thor crashed futilely against them, one of inspectors explained the situation while the other delivered a punch with the force of a "cosmic tornado." Nonetheless, Thor pummeled the inspectors into submission, and he resolved to remain a passenger on the ship as only on the home planet of Rigel could the fight to save mankind be truly won.  --Thor I#131 Note: The ship is also shown in profile atop Jane Foster's apartment in the Visi-Rod profile.

(Thor I#132) - From Rigel-3's Control Central, Observer 3B-Y reported to the Grand Commissioner that a being from Earth (actually Thor, from Asgard) had destroyed the Indestructible and now sped toward their space lock sector.      Aware of this via his own monitoring, the Grand Commissioner commanded 3B-Y "Begone!" --Thor I#132 Note: The Thor: Official Index of the Marvel Universe entry for Thor I#132 identifies this character as Observer 38-Y.       I thought it was 38-Y, too, when I started the profile, but when I zoomed in for a screenshot, I found that it looks more like 3B-Y to me.      The left side of the letter really looks like a straight-line, and it looks just like the "B" in the text box above and the dialog balloons.

(Iron Man I#110) - Observer XJ-17 supervised the Viviscan Probe of Iron Man and Jack of Hearts. When a technician noted Iron Man to be a normal Terran, XJ-17 instructed the others to scan his armor, which must be the source of his power.      XJ-17 or another reported to Arcturus the veritable armory in Iron Man's life-sustaining armor and that Jack of Hearts was essentially pure biologic energy in human form.      After the scan's conclusion, the Knights of Wundagore II attacked Arcturus' command ship. --Iron Man I#110 Note: Hmmm...in re-re-reviewing this, it's finally clear to me that Rigellian pictured in this profile is not the Rigellian who replies to a notation addressed to XJ-17.      See the image in the restrainer rays sub-profile...the guy in this picture gives the order to begin the scan and log all data.      Then another Rigellian addresses XJ-17, noting that the armored one was a standard terran life-form...but it is another Rigellian, the one at the bottom right of the panel who replies to that comment, telling him to scan the armor.      I think the guy in the bottom right is actually XJ-17...although we'll probably never know for certain. . . .

(Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3 - BTS) - As part of a mission to locate Black Bolt, who was a captive of the Skrulls, Lockjaw transported himself, Gorgon and Karnak to Rigel 3" (presumably New Rigel-3), to obtain a Recorder that had cracked the Skrull communications algorithm.      While Karnak entered a library to access its database to discern which Recorder they needed, Gorgon went to the lower level storing the Recorders. Karnak was discovered by a Rigellian sentry, while Gorgon was surrounded by a group of large robots. (Secret Invasion: Inhumans#4) - The sentry had Karnak covered with his laser pistol at point-blank range, but Karnak distracted the sentry, asking if he had ever killed a man, correctly gambling that he may not have. The sentry paused just for a second to reflect on the question, and Karnak took advantage, knocking the weapon out of the sentry's hands, recovering it himself, and then use it to cover the sentry in turn.      Now free to act and speak, Karnak advised Gorgon that the robots could be incapacitated by disabling their heads, allowing Gorgon to fight them off while he obtained the Recorder serial number, 236A67.      After Gorgon located and claimed the needed Recorder, Karnak had Lockjaw teleport Gorgon and himself back to the Inhuman Royal Family's ship. --Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3 (4

(Thor II#41) - As Thor burned the Odinring during Odin's funeral, Rigellian were among those across the cosmos who noted Odin's passing. --Thor II#41 Note: Of course, Odin was eventually returned to life, but it was supposed to be big deal at the time...      I don't believe any of the three Rigellians seen are identifiable...they may or may not be any that we have seen before and/or would see later.

(Annihilation Conquest#6 (fb) - BTS) - After the Kree Empire fell silent and was surrounded by a force wall by Ultron-led Phalanx, ships from the Rigellan colonies joined ships from "Imperial Sparta, the Galadorian Initiative...and even the Badoon Expulgence" in investigating. In nearly a month, however, all attempts at communication or penetration through the barrier failed. (Annihilation Conquest#6) - After the Badoon reported a ninth failure to breach the barrier with their continuum ram, one of the three Rigellian females -- aboard a Spartoi ship containing the Spartoi commander, and unidentified Galadorian Spaceknight and Kree Major Chell-Tek -- echoed concern that such a powerful weapon had failed, stating that the Rigellians had never encountered an artificial barrier of this magnitude. Another of the Rigellians noted the exception of what Rigellians had encountered "...at the end of time, obviously . But we never talk about that."     The Rigellians observed silently as one of the Spartoi noted the nearby creation of a gravimetric stargate, which turned out to be generated by Nova (Richard Rider), who brought with him fellow Guardians Drax and Gamora, as well as the Technarchy Warlock and Tyro. With other Guardians on Hala having damaged the Phalanx spire, Nova led his allies through the briefly weakened barrier.

(Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - An unidentified Rigellian programmed Recorder 451. (Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - After Iron Man brought the brain-dead Recorder 451 to Stark Mansion in hopes of salvaging its database. Recorder 451 leaked an energy/transmission on a frequency not detected by Tony or Arno Stark that affected the rings of the Mandarin via a quarantined Makluan/Kakaranatharan artificial intelligence weapon for use when the rings were separated from their wielders. The program guided the rings to analyze the situation of a planet and try to push it toward something more favorable to general cosmic principles, such as an empire or monarchy.     Long-term contact with the Mandarin also left a psychic imprint that left a residual animosity toward Iron Man (Tony Stark). (Iron Man V#28 (fb) - BTS) - After recapturing the Mandarin's rings and/or subduing their users, Tony and Arno Stark contacted S.W.O.R.D.'s diplomatic division to communicate with the Rigellians. (Iron Man V#28) - Accompanied by at least five conventional Recorders, the Rigellians who had programmed Recorder 451 traveled to Earth to claim Recorder 451, arriving within 24 hours of Stark's communication.     As the conventional Recorders transported 451's containment vessel through the air, possibly via a gravity nullifier, 451's programmer explained how he had created 451 and how 451 had affected the rings.     He apologized for 451 and his affect upon Earth and assured Stark that he was not to blame for bringing 451 back to Earth.      Noting it was a pleasure meeting Stark of Earth, the Rigellian departed with his Recorders and 451 in a containment device aboard their ship. --Iron Man V#28 Note: This Rigellian has more human body proportions and orange/pink skin (similar to a human Caucasian), as opposed to the very slight body and over-sized head with yellow skin traditionally seen with Rigellians.      It may just be artistic license, but as some Rigellians have the ability to project mind-thrusts and to alter their densities, it is not much of a stretch to consider that some of them may be able to project an illusion of a more physically imposing form and/or one that is more familiar/less "alien" when encounters others with more human forms.      However, that is merely speculation at this point.      The Rigellian ship, which may or may not have departed from New Rigel-3, reached Earth within 24 hours, presumably indicating that it utilized faster-than-light technology, such as accessing hyperspace and/or utilizing stargates, etc.      The front part of the ship can be seen more fully in the fuller version of the image to the right, seen here.       An image of the interior of the ship is seen opposite the above linked image.

    Are they native to the Rigel-3 destroyed by the Rhunians and/or other Rigellian worlds?

Apparently part of the planet Rigel-3 (prior to its destruction by the Rhunians), it was the base from which the ruler of the Rigellians, the Grand Commissioner, observed via electroscopic viso-scanners, and gave commands. He also gained information from radarscopic symbols.      If needed to deal with something directly, he could use the matter transmitter, entering the structural dissembler and being transmitted in energy form to his target location, where he was reconstituted via the structural restorer. Presumably there was also a structural restorer in Control Central so that he could swiftly and easily return there as well. (Thor I#132) - Observing this space cruiser's destruction within Control Central from Rigel-3, the Grand Commissioner was concerned of the dual threats of the Black Galaxy and the invader from Earth's solar system; however, he conceived of a way to solve them both. The Grand Commissioner then had an attendant activate the matter transmitter to send him to their Power Planetoid; stepping into the structural dissembler, he emerged in the structural restorer on the closely-guarded Power Planetoid. (Thor I#155) - On the world of the Colonizers, presumably from Control Central, the Grand Commissioner noted to the Scientist Supreme that their ionic probe-scopes were detecting deadly pulsations from the other end of the universe that were so powerful they "could only mean the end of all of life is near at hand."     Suspecting that the menace lied within the Black Galaxy, another Rigellian (possbly the Scientist Supreme?) ordered Recorder#211 to investigate that realm. (Thor I#160) - Presumably within Control Cental, Tana and Thor soon after met with the Grand Commissioner, who told Thor that his people had hidden from Galactus in the past via a shield that was growing weaker over time. After the Commissioner noted that if Galactus was not checked, Asgard itself might fall, Thor agreed to help. The Grand Commissioner assigned the Recorder to join Thor against Galactus, and when the two greeted each other warmly, the Commissioner noted that while machines could not feel, even those who had created the Recorders did sometimes wonder. The Commissioner gave them a craft set on automatic, designed to sense Galactus and bear them to him, and they departed Rigel. --Thor I#132 Note: In reading Thor I#162, I started to wonder if the space station on which Thor and the Recorder landed was the one that contained the Grand Commissioner's Control Central. However, it is not clearly stated, and as there is the matter transmitter from the Control Central to the Power Planetoid (and possibly other occasions), it is certainly possible that the Grand Commissioner transported to meet them or vice-versa      I would think it likely that the site from which the Grand Commissioner worked from the replacement Rigel-3 was a new version of Control Central, but it was not called that.     The Official Marvel Index to Thor entry for #406 called it the "Command Center"

The Division of Claims is responsible for approving claims to colonize worlds. This group shown was active on an apparent satellite around Rigel-3 (the one that would be destroyed by the Rhunians).

(Thor I#131) - Reverting to her true form, Tana contacted Command Planet Rigel-3, reaching the Division of Claims and registering her claim to Earth.       While Tana noted that Earth (on "the perimeter of sector five") was unregistered and she wanted to claim full colonization rights, the Division representative told her that they must check their file of "fringe area galaxies," and they instructed her to maintain contact.     After a computerized survey lasting but a brief micro-second, the Division confirmed that there were no claims in that space sector, that all was in order, and that they would dispatch an official inspection team at once: As soon as they would transmit their report, their claim would be approved.       Tana countered that they must send no inspection team, as if they were observed, it might lead to battle. However, the Division representative told her that Colonizers were invincible and that nothing could affect them, except the menace of the Black Galaxy, of course. He then notified her that inspectors had been dispatched and that she should await their arrival.       As the Division representative ended the transmission, the inspectors ship departed, noting their star drive to be operational and that their destination was Earth. --Thor I#131

Presumably part of the Division of Claims (Thor I#133) - As local police in Manhattan, New York, USA, Earth assumed her to be crazy, Tana Nile contacted her superiors "via direct solar beam" to prove her point and requested that the space lock pull Earth out of orbit at a more rapid rate; however, they informed her, by order of the Grand Commissioner, that Earth was to be freed of the space lock and that she was ordered to end her colonization and return to Rigel.      Though Tana asked for further explanation, the transmission was closed. --Thor I#131

The Power Planetoid was orbitted by the Space Lock(s). (Thor I#132) - Via the matter transmitter, the Grand Commissioner traveled from Control Central to the Power Planetoid, where their observo-lenses tracked the invader (Thor). Confirming that the invader was targeting thier Space Lock, the Grand Commissions ordered the use of a tractor beam that caught Thor as he exited his ship and pulled him to the planet below.      Landing, Thor overpowered the Rigellians seeking to stop him. When he turned anew to the Space Lock, the Grand Commissioner bade him halt, introduced himself, and told him of the threat of the Black Galaxy. The Grand Commissioner promised to release Earth from the Space Lock if Thor could stop the the menace within, and Thor accepted. --Thor I#132

To illustrate the threat of the Black Galaxy, the Grand Commissioner brought Thor to the Tower of Telescopes. The complex, ever-revolving structure allowed them to visualize distant stars, galaxies, etc. --Thor I#132

The sentry ship was used by the Colonizers. It could be pre-programmed to deal with those approaching it. For those beings and/or objects they wished to be brought aboard, the ship could fire a Mesa Beam (see left image) to accomplish this. The ship also held a Spectro-Scanner and could effect a "time-warp escape drive" to avoid imminent collisions.      The Mesa Beam was composed of contracting mesons, which woudl draw them safely within the ship, at least as long as they remained motionless. (Thor I#134 (fb) - BTS) - While waiting for the return of Thor and the Recorder, the Rigellians aboard the sentry ship tracked a "bright mass of energy" (Galactus, although this was not known to them at the time), noting with concern as the mysterious object leaped across countless light years of space with unbelievable speed and streaking toward them. .  (Thor I#134 (fb) - BTS) - As Thor and the Recorder returned from the Bioverse (aka "Black Galaxy") and approached the periphery of Rigel, a previously-programmed Colonizer sentry ship fired a mesa beam that drew them into the ship.      The Recorder explained to Thor the nature and purpose of the beam. Accepting the word of his trusted ally, Thor did not resist.     When the Recorder sensed a rapidly approaching massive power source and noted that it was on a collision course with their ship, the Rigellians ordered "time warp escape drive -- mach thrust," and they rapidly departed.  --Thor I#134 Note: Definitions for mesons from basic dictionary sources include:      A subatomic particle which is intermediate in mass between an electron and a proton and transmits the strong interaction that binds nucleons together in the atomic nucleus.      Any of a group of fundamental particles (such as the pion and kaon) made up of a quark and an antiquark that are subject to the strong force and have zero or an integer number of quantum units of spin      You can get a lot more extensive information via various websites or texts...it's way outside of my area of expertise, so I can't effectively evaluate whether the information is correct or not.      The term "time-warp escape drive" implies that it accessed tachyons or otherwise actually used time travel to move out of place so rapidly. However, the term is used once, not clearly described, and not referenced again.      Perhaps it was akin to "Ludicrous Speed"

Somewhere distant from the ship on which Thor had defeated the Indestructible, which was somewhere in the proximity of Sky-Station 14-R, presumably between that structure and Rigel-3, a gigantic, heavily-armed Rigellian Space Cruiser was attacked and destroyed by a deadly beam from the Black Galaxy (presumably fired by Ego. --Thor I#132

(Thor I#155) - On the world of the Colonizers, the Grand Commissioner noted to the Scientist Supreme that their ionic probe-scopes were detecting deadly pulsations from the other end of the universe that were so powerful they "could only mean the end of all of life is near at hand." --Thor I#155 Note: The person speaking with the Grand Commissioner seems to speak with authority, not just obeying orders as do most others conversing with him. I wonder if this is an early appearance of the Scientist Suprme I'm not sure whether the image to the right is supposed to be the scope(s), or whether it was just a review of Rigel or its associated Sky-Station 14-R or Power Planetoid

(Thor I#160 (fb) - BTS) - To address the threat of the immensely powerful Galactus and the weakening shield that had hidden the Rigellians from Galactus' detection (which threatened not only the worlds of Rigel but its neighboring star clusters, and potentially the universe itself), Tana was sent to recruit Thor's aid via Rigellian spacecraft. (Thor I#160) - Tana informed Thor of a threat to many worlds (and galaxies). After Thor agreed to help, she led him aboard her ship, and they departed Earth; en route, she detailed the threat of Galactus, and they observed a number of ships and beings fleeing Galactus-ravaged worlds. (Thor I#160 (fb) - BTS) - Tana and Thor arrived at Control Central. --Thor I#160 Note: It occurs to me at this time that we never saw how Tana first came to Earth in her initial story circa Thor I#129. She was picked up in another craft by other Rigellians, and I would think it very unlikely that if Tana had a ship there that it would have been left behind...so perhaps she was just dropped off or otherwise transported to Earth and didn't have a ship of her own, or it was transported back to Rigel unseen. Or somethin?

multi-purpose space station (Thor I#162) - Having saved Ego from Galactus, Thor and the Recorder were returned by Ego to Rigel, and Thor noted that Rigel's ever-orbiting satellites of defense seemed truly endless in number.      Eventually, a gleaming multi-purpose space station, poised above the heart or Rigel, drew them to its center, and the Recorder asked the Rigellians who met them to bring them to the Grand Commissioner.      Via the Grand Commissioner's porta-communiscreen, Thor's success was electronically flashed throughout the galaxy, and the Grand Commissioner praised Thor 's strength and valor before instructing the removal of the Recorder's memory bank and the Recorder's subsequent deactivation.      However, at Thor's insistence, the Recorder's memories were instead transcribed (by Tana Nile), and the Recorder was allowed to remain active and retain his memories. Thor then departed via Mjolnir, returning to Asgard. --Thor I#162 Note: In reading Thor I#162, I started to wonder if the space station on which Thor and the Recorder landed was the one that contained the Grand Commissioner's Control Central.      However, it is not clearly stated, and as there is the matter transmitter from the Control Central to the Power Planetoid (and possibly other occasions), it is certainly possible that the Grand Commissioner transported to meet them or vice-versa      A very similar structure is seen in Thor I#419, and it seems to be orbiting the command planet as well as the base of the Scientist Supreme (from the interior view, it seems to be the same location as the Scientist Supreme's distant planetoid base seen in Thor I#406).     The  multi-purpose space station from Thor I#162 is very similar to the structure seen in Thor I#419, which seems to be orbiting the command planet as well as the base of the Scientist Supreme (from the interior view, it seems to be the same location as the Scientist Supreme's distant planetoid base seen in Thor I#406).     I'm working through all of the Rigellians' appearances, and at some point in the coming months, I will profile that structure.     Obviously, the two structures were associated with two different Rigel-3's, and it is unrevealed whether it was the same structure, a re-creation, etc.

(Thor I#201 (fb)) - The Grand Commissioner summoned Tana, telling her that while they could not colonize Earth, they needed an Earth-type world for unspecified reasons.      With only primitive planets of that type available, the Grand Commissioner sent Tana on a mission into the Bioverse/Black Galaxy.

Tana landed on the surface of Ego, blasting free a living slab of stone and placing it within a special isotope container on her ship.      Tana then sped to the the galaxy's "eastern rim" and landed on a planet (which was somewhere in the stone age, with Neanderthal like people being present) called Blackworld by humanity while being nameless to the Rigellians.     While Blackworld was rapidly terraformed using the portion of Ego, the portion of Ego itself evolved into Ego-Prime. --Thor I#201 Note: This looked to be a small, single person craft. It must have had the capacity for faster-than-light travel to rapidly traverse interstellar systems and the "Black Galaxy."      The ship was presumably destroyed on Blackworld.

Rigellian warriors' spacesuits included magnetic shoes that helped them walk on the metallic surface of their ships. If knocked away from the ship, they floated away into space, apparently lacking any means of propulsion. --Thor I#218

Arcturus' command ship notably contained the transport chamber that sent and received beings to and from the Transport Egg.      It also had a Proton Coagulant Ray, utilized restrainer rays, and had the Viviscan Probe device. (Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS / Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - Following the exodus from Rigel-3, a fleet of Rigellians serving Arcturus were seemingly/allegedly separated from the main fleet by a cosmic storm. They were apparently uncertain whether the main fleet had survived. (Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - In actuality, the power-hungry Arcturus had deliberately separated his group from the main fleet, as he felt that he had stood too long in the shadow of the Grand Commissioner and now sought to colonize and conquer under his own name and to build a galactic empire under his rule.  (Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - Although Earth had been declared off-limits to the Colonizers of Rigel, Arcturus' fleet set the ellipsoid Transport Egg/observation base in the inhabitable Blue Area of Earth's moon.  (Fantastic Four I#175 - BTS/  Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Finding Galactus' abandoned ship (after his seeming death following the consumption of the planet Poppup) circling Earth's sun, Arcturus fleet confiscated Galactus' Punisher robot and then transported it with them aboard Arcturus' ship when they traveled in search of a new homeworld. (Iron Man I#111 (fb) - BTS) - The Rigellians serving Arcturus believed themselves to have found a new home when one of their space probes discovered Wundagore II. Not knowing the world's history, they considered it to be huge, alive, and lacking a sentient race. However, after their ships landed on the world, their radiation catalyzed the local fauna's reversion into New Men who reorganized as the Knights of Wundagore and fought against the Rigellians attempting to colonize their world. (Iron Man I#109 - BTS / Iron Man I#110 (fb) - BTS) - Earth heroes Iron Man and Jack of Hearts were transported to Arcturus' command ship via investigating the Transport Egg. (Iron Man I#110) - The Rigellians assaulted the intruders, who broke free of their Proton Cage and swiftly took down their blaster-wielding soldiers. The Punisher was then summoned, and it subdued the pair. Arcturus then paralyzed the Terrans with a mind-thrust, after which they were immobilized with restrainer rays and subjected to a Viviscan Probe. The ship was then rocked by an assault from the Knights of Wundagore,incapacitating the restrainer ray, freeing Iron Man and Jack of Hearts.  (Iron Man I#111) - The Rigellians in the command ship called an alert to battle stations as their space shields had been breached. When a blast from the Knights hit a fuel storage cell, the explosion hurled Iron Man from the Rigellian ship into the middle of the attacking Wundagorians.       After witnessing the Rigellian ship's' blasts killing a pair of Knights (Sir Lepard and Sir Ossilot), Iron Man took out its main gun. Nonetheless, he was eventually struck by power-lance bursts from the Knights and photon torpedoes from the Rigellians and crashed on the surface of Wundagore II. The Knights then retreated back to their mother ship.     Meeting with Sir Lyan and learning his people's history, Iron Man further resolved to join the Knights against their attackers. Meanwhile, Observer YJ-18 told Jack of the Rigellians' history, and Jack appreciated that the colonizers considered the New Men to be inferior beings.  (Iron Man I#111) - Arcturus subsequently Jack of Hearts that if he refused to help him take Wundagore II, the Rigellians would take Earth in its stead. (Iron Man I#112) - With the Rigellians' space screens weakened from the earlier attack, Iron Man led the Knights to breach and board the command ship, although he warned the Knights that the Rigellians' weaponry still exceeded their own.      The battle swiftly spread to the entire Colonizer fleet, and blasters cracked and defense shields fell as New Men and Rigellians locked in deadly hand-to-hand combat.  (Iron Man I#112) - When Iron Man and Jack of Hearts confronted Arcturus, the Rigellian commander sent the Punisher robot to attack Earth via the transport chamber back to the Transport Egg on Earth's moon. Iron Man pursued the Punisher while telling Jack to stay and assist the New Men.       The Rigellians battling Jack of Hearts pulled him with them through the transport chamber, and an army of Rigellians and the New Men fighting them soon emerged from the Transport Egg. (Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - Rigellian Recorder#211 arrived in the Blue Area of the Moon, having tracked Arcturus via the Transport Egg's signal beam. The Recorder related that the Rigellians had since found a new homeworld, and it stated that Arcturus' deliberately breaking contact with the fleet, his attempting to colonize without authority, and his threatening the restricted Earth had all broken Rigellian law. The Recorder then noted that it had been authorized to strip Arcturus of his rank and title.     Declaring the war against the New Men to have been illegal and to now be over, the Recorder then used the Transport Egg to return the Knights of Wundagore to the transport chamber on the command ship, from which they could return to Wundagore II.  (Iron Man I#112 - BTS) - The rest of Arcturus' fleet was subsequently reunited with the rest of the Rigellians on this new Rigel-3, while the Recorder vowed to destroy the Transport Egg after Iron Man, Jack of Hearts, and the Soviet Super-Soldiers returned to Earth in the spacecraft the Recorder provided. --Iron Man I#110

On Rigel-3, aboard a hover platform, a Rigellian observed the giant Surtur and Thor who briefly materialized there. --Thor I#400 Note: Due to the time travel nature of this story, it is not 100% certain which Rigel-3 is represented in this story.

(Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3 - BTS) - As part of a mission to locate Black Bolt, who was a captive of the Skrulls, Lockjaw transported himself, Gorgon and Karnak to Rigel 3" (presumably New Rigel-3), to obtain a Recorder that had cracked the Skrull communications algorithm.      While Karnak entered a library to access its database to dicern which Recorder they needed, Gorgon went to the lower level storing the Recorders. Karnak was discovered by a Rigellian sentry, while Gorgon was surrounded by a group (perhaps a trio) of large robots.

(Secret Invasion: Inhumans#4) - Subduing the Rigellian sentry, Karnak subsequently advised Gorgon that -- as the Rigellians were proud of their big brains -- the robots' function should be controlled by the cranial areas, and they could be incapacitated by disabling their heads.      Tearing of at least one of the units' heads, llowing Gorgon to fight them off while he obtained the Recorder serial number, 236A67.      After Gorgon located and claimed the needed Recorder, Karnak had Lockjaw teleport Gorgon and himself back to the Inhuman Royal Family's ship. (Secret Invasion: Inhumans#4) - With Triton having uplinked the Skrull communications hub on Pellagia, Karnak synched that with the Recorder, and then Crystal forced the Skrull commander they had recovered to reveal the password. They thusly accessed the Skrull database and then located and freed Black Bolt and Ahura. --Secret Invasion: Inhumans#3 (4

During the war between interstellar empires in which the Grandmaster (En Dwi Gast) -- acting as part of a challenge by the Inhuman Maximus Boltagon -- framed Wakanda for assassinating various rulers... (Imperial I#2) - The Rigellian ship Man-of-War was invaded by the Black Panther and his Hatut Zeraze who swiftly subdued the guards who intended to prevent them from reaching the command deck.      However, the Wakandans were then confronted by the Hulk and Brawn (Amadeus Cho), and they briefly battled before they were assaulted by Skrulls loyal to the legacy of Veranke. (Imperial I#2 - BTS) - Shi'ar Hobgoblins and other Superguardians loyal to the current incarnation of Electron captured Deathbird and Magestrix Xandra and then detonated the stargate, trapping the other factions on the other side. (Imperial War: Black Panther#1) - As the Hulk smashed the Skrulls, Brawn noted that some of the Skrulls were wearing Rigellian or Hatut Zeraze uniforms, and he correctly suspected that the Skrulls were manipulating events. Meanwhile, the Black Panther escaped the Man-of-War. --Imperial#2 (Imperial War: Black Panther#1 Note: As discussed above, at least some of the "Rigellians" on the Man-of-War were Skrulls posing as Rigellians.

(Nova Centurion#1) - An unidentified Rigellian was aboard the Barathi pleasure, which became trapped in the gravity well of a black hole and was saved by Nova (Rich Rider).      Although Nova exhausted 64% of the Worldmind's reserves in accomplishing this, no one aboard the Barathi was willing to pay him any compensation. --Nova Centurion#1
