MATTER TRANSMITTER

Classification: Extraterrestrial (Rigellian) technology

Creator: Unidentified Rigellian

Possessors: Rigellians (notably the Grand Commissioner and the Scientist Supreme)

First Appearance: Thor I#132 (September, 1966)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Rigellian Matter Transmitter hyperspace teleportation devices used to relay individual Rigellians from one outpost to another.

The Matter Transmitter utilizes a Structural Dissembler from the the location of origin, and a structural restorer at the destination site.

This notably occurs from Rigel-3's Control Center to the Power Planetoid (and presumably vice-versa).

History:

(Thor I#132) - Aided by an attendant, the Grand Commissioner of Rigel traveled via the Mastter Transmitter from the Command Center to the Power Planetoid.

(Thor I#406) - Considering the threat of progressively more powerful earthquakes on the command planet Rigel-3, the Grand Commissioner traveled via the matter transmitter to the Scientist Supreme's private laboratory in a planetoid in the asteroid belt.

(Thor I#407) - Per the Scientist Supreme's advice and the Grand Commissioner's order, the Null-Bomb was transported via the Matter Transmitter into the Black Galaxy.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby , and Vince Colletta.

Based on the virtually identical structures on Thor I#132 and #406 -- which occur in association with two different Rigellian homeworlds, although they both had the same name (Rigel-3 (destroyed by Rhunians) and Rigel-3 (destroyed by one of the Thanosi) -- it would seem that the structures were either part of the transport/evacuation from the Rhunians or that they were otherwise rebuilt in virtually identical fashion.

Presumably, similar technology was used for the Transport Egg and the Transport Chamber, which also transported objects and/or beings between two specific locations
