History:
(Guardians of
Infinity#2 (fb) - BTS) - Tua and the rest of the Guardians made a
temporary base on Earth at the settlement of Tal Edra in Iraq to study
a mysterious trans-temporal sky
structure. From this base emerged the "Newcomers" who attacked them and
(presumably) the humans nearby, converting captives into Newcomers as
well.
(Guardians of Infinity#1) - When members of the Guardians of the Galaxy of the 21st (Drax, Rocket (Raccoon) and Groot) and 31st
Century (Vance Astro/Major Victory, Martinex and Nikki) emerged from
the Structure into their era, Tua Zon stood by (on his hover disc)
Stella Nega and his teammates as Stella mistakenly assessed them to be
another batch of newcomers and ordered her fellow Guardians of the
Galaxy to attack. The Guardians from the future were surprised to hear
their group's name.
(Guardians
of Infinity#2) - Tua Zon joined his teammates in assaulting the
newly-arrived beings from the future. He vocalized his identification
of Nikki's projectile weapons and steel cases and his use of
concentrating a static charge against her, after which Rocket blasted
his hover disc, knocking him off it (to which he reacted with, "Bleeeeeeeg!"
Rocket then called for a halt to the conflict of
mistaken identities, and the new arrivals revealed that they were all
Guardians of the Galaxy incarnations and had also been battling the
newcomers. The three groups then gathered at the Tal Edra base, where
Stella Nega introduced her team's members. Tua Zon clarified that the
newcomers had either built or were using the sky structure and that the
newcomer Highbreed were woven from genetic stock harvested from the
populations they had removed, recycling sentients to swell their host.
That information made the 31st
Century Guardians realize that their teammate Charlie-27 who had been
captured by the newcomers had likely been converted into one of them.
Just after their detection by Drax and Astrolabe,
the newcomer Highbreed blew open their base's roof and attacked the
group, and as Astrolabe summoned the power from the sentient star in
his mind to destroy their attackers. However, after Martinex insisted
they not use lethal force as Charlie-27 might be among the group,
Astrolabe was stunned by the effort to contain the power he had
summoned. After Hightower had fallen and was immediately converted as
well, Astrolabe recovered consciousness, but although Vance Astro
psionically reinforced his mind, his efforts to contain his power
failed, and the power exploded out from him.
(Guardians
of Infinity#3 (fb) - BTS) - Before apparently being destroyed by his
own power, Astrolabe used his power to protect the various Guardians
from the blast.
(Guardians
of Infinity#3) - Tua Zon noted that the Highbreed's teleportal was
still open and they could enter the structure, and Vance considered
that doing so might give them more answers, after which the Guardians
collectively entered the structure. Therein, Tua informed the others
that the writing covering the walls was from many different languages,
some of which were unknown to him; however, they all seemed to be
comparative texts declaring the same information, including names of
conqueror gods or redeemers from different cultures. He concluded that
the structure may be dedicated to a divine concept woven from the
mythologies of many planets. Tua ultimately noted that the name
Hermetikus appeared most of all, in many scripts.
(Guardians
of Infinity#3 - BTS) - After one of the Highbreed noted Stella Nega to
amongst the invaders within the structure, Hermetikus had him send an
army of Highbreeds to assault them.
(Guardians
of Infinity#3) - Tua fired a wrist blast as he and the other Guardians
battled the Highbreed, and he calculated that 4600 Highbreed warriors
were converging on them.
(Guardians
of Infinity#4) - As Tua generated electro-shock spheres around him, he
advised the Guardians that there were now 5200 Highbreed warrirors
converging on them. Vance Astro asked Tua and Martinex to find another
teleport door close by so they could escape.
While the heroes felt that they would soon be
overwhelmed, they were instead rescued by Astrolabe, who had taken the
time to recover by returning and teleporting them away to the quantum
space of his star.
Having communed with the structure itself, Astrolabe
concluded that they could begin peaceful negotiation with the Highbreed.
(Guardians
of Infinity#4 (fb) - BTS) - However, upon returning to the structure, all three groups of Guardians were captured
(Guardians
of Infinity#4) - Tua and the rest of the Guardians were trapped in transparent cages while Hermetikus questioned Rocket.
(Guardians
of Infinity#5) - At Hermetikus's orders, Rocket and Stella Nega remained behind as the Highbreeds took Astrolabe was sent to a special chamber and Tua and the others to another room where they were imprisoned within separate chambers.
(Guardians
of Infinity#5 - BTS) - Hermetikus discussed Stella and his pasts and goals, and he eventually teleported Rocket's brain into his armor for his use.
(Guardians
of Infinity#5) - While
Vance Astro set up a telepathic network amongst the imprisoned group
(excluding Drax, who was being disruptive), Tua determined that the
lock mechanism within the door of the cells was controlled by a complex
thirty-integer code, and he believed that the could calculate the
precise numerical sequence, although it would take awhile. Tua did so,
and then he shared the code with Vance Astro, who used his telekinesis
to apply the sequence to the lock mechanism; however, Vance unwittingly
opened Nikki's cell rather than his own.
(Guardians
of Infinity#6 - BTS) - Tua Zon and the others remained imprisoned while
Hermetikus incorporated Rocket's brain into his armor and punished his
own General Korz for failures by putting his brain into Rocket's body,
after which Stella convinced Korz that he would never get back into
Hermetikus' good graces and convinced him to free her so they could
thwart Hermetikus. Additionally, while Nikki sought the master control
to free the others still imprisoned, she instead located the powerful
Astrolabe.
(Guardians
of Infinity#7 - BTS) - While Nikki freed Astrolab, Korz-in-Rocket's
body prevented the Highbreeds from alerting Hermetikus of this
occurrence. Korz-Rocket then released the locks on the remaining
Guardians' cells and again silenced the Highbreed.
(Guardians
of Infinity#7) - Tua joined the other released Guardians in seeking out their allies and Hermetikus.
(Guardians
of Infinity#7 - BTS) - Nonetheless realizing that the Guardians had
been freed, Hermetikus deployed his warhosts to conquer worlds across
time and space.
(Guardians
of Infinity#8 - BTS) - Controlling Hermetikus' systems, Rocket did not
open the exit shields, causing the warhosts to crash into the shields,
destoying the ships and those aboard it. Rocket subsequently forced
Hermetikus to batter himself before Rocket's brain was dislodged from
his system.
(Guardians
of Infinity#8) - Tua and the other Guardians arrived to join the fight
against Hermetikus and the Highbreed, after which Rocket accessed
Hermetikus' wi-fi to to deactivate the Highbreed system, returning them
all to their pre-conversion states. The subsequently freed Charlie-27
then punched out Hermetikus.
Tua Zon advised the others that with access to the
cross-time structure that could access all time fields, it would be
much simpler than expected to return the former Highbreeds to their
native worlds.
(Guardians
of Infinity#8 (fb) - BTS) - Rocket and General Korg were returned to
their rightful bodies, while Hermetikus' brain was kept isolated within
one of receptacles. Korg assured Rocket that he would supervise getting
everyone home and fixing everything with which Hermetikus had messed.
(Guardians
of Infinity#8) - Tua was present as both the 21st and 31st
Century Guardians bade them farewell and headed back to their own times.
Comments: Created by Dan Abnett and Carlo Barberi.
Having Tua Zon active on Earth
circa 1016 A.D. somewhat spoils Tana Nile first discovering Earth in
the modern era (21st century). Perhaps the resolution would
be that Tua Zon had long since severed ties with the Colonizers before
going to Earth and he never reported back to them.
I think the first Guardians of
the Galaxy chronologically would be this group, more appropriately
known as the Chosen Eight of Fate:
GUARDIANS of the GALAXY (Ajesthe, Badoon, Shi'ar,
Skrull, 4 others) - eight beings evolved/empowered by a series of
stones empowered by the Alpha and Omega Stones to maintain peace
between the inhabited worlds, granted powers of earth + air + fire +
water +life + death + anima + gravity. Four died in battle, two died of old age, one retired--Thunderbolts I#45
