New York, USA
First Appearance: New Warriors III#4 (November, 2005)
Powers/Abilities: Debrii is a low-level
telekinetic magnet, allowing her to attract and move small objects
within her limited range. While the range of her power and size of the
objects moved are limited, she is capable of utilizing this ability for
a variety of powerful uses including moving the objects around at high
speed to create storms and/or clouds of debris that she can then force
into an enemy, forming the objects into an armored "body" for added
durability and strength sufficient to break through a concrete wall or
even moving non-loose objects such as crushing the ground in her
vicinity to break apart and utilize for more debris to manipulate.
She can also use her powers on
herself to allow for short distance levitation.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
History:
(All-New
Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z I#3 - Debrii entry - BTS)
- The low level telekinetic Debrii was born in New York City, New York,
a citizen of the United States.
(New Warriors III#4 (fb) - BTS) - Debrii
remained in New York, which she considered her home. When the heroic
New Warriors filmed a traveling
reality show in which they would handle small-time criminal cases, the
television executives secretly decided the show needed "new blood" and
producer Ashley Brothers arranged for Debrii to join the team, albeit
without telling the other New Warriors.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#12 (fb) - BTS) - Debrii agreed to join the New Warriors in an effort to get famous.
(New Warriors III#4) - During a mission to Nuponder, Minnesota, the New
Warriors planted a trap for their enemy Terrax (secretly a robot
facsimile), who had seemingly been abducting local pets, and when the
Terrax robot was lured out into the open by the cat Mr. Tickles, Debrii
chimed into the New Warriors' communications by suggesting they spring
the trap. While the confused New Warriors struggled to figure out who
had compromised their communications, Debrii publicly revealed her
presence by summoning forth clouds of debris that she covered the
Terrax robot with. Despite the storm of flying debris in the air, the
Terrax robot managed to capture Mr. Tickles and flee, leaving Night
Thrasher to question who Debrii was. Upon being asked, Debrii responded
by demanding to know who the #@%! Night Thrasher was and the
conversation was interrupted by Ashley Brothers, who introduced Debrii
as the newest New Warrior. The New Warriors became angry that they were
not consulted about any new members and Ashley tried to smooth things
over by explaining how the television executives wanted new blood. Most
of the Warriors argued with Ashley but Namorita angrily suggested
Debrii stop referring to herself in the third person, as Debrii did
little more than move trash around. Antagonistically getting in
Namorita's face, Debrii argued that she could move much more than just
trash. Nova eventually told everyone to shut up and reminded them that
they were being filmed before Microbe interrupted to reveal that his
germs could not affect Terrax because he was not an organic being.
Realizing Terrax must be some sort of facsimile and learning from
Microbe that the other residents of Nuponder seemed to also be
inorganic, Nova ordered Debrii and Microbe to stay there while the rest
of the New Warriors went to the Nucar automotive plant to investigate.
Ashley Brothers argued that the
New Warriors didn't have the "power" to decide who went where so Nova
suggested Debrii and Microbe figure out their own way to the plant
since they couldn't fly. Debrii argued that Namorita, who was carrying
one of the show's cameramen, had a free arm and Namorita still declined
to carry Debrii, claiming the camera man was really heavy. The New
Warriors departed for the Nucar plant and Ashley commended Debrii on
stirring things up. Ashley then suggested they just needed to find a
way to better explain Debrii's powers on cameras but the still-angry
Debrii demanded to know how long Microbe had been on the team. When
Microbe replied that he'd been there for four episodes of the reality
show, Debrii exclaimed that she would not be treated unfairly and
suggested that she and Microbe prove themselves by showing what they
could do. She then walked towards the Nucar plant with Microbe in tow.
(New Warriors III#5) - Tracking
the New Warriors' bacteria to the
Nucar plant, Microbe led Debrii to the entrance and confirmed they were
in the right place, noting that he could hear Namorita's Atlantean
bacteria bickering with everyone else's. Remarking that even Namorita's
bacteria had an attitude, Debrii ventured inside with Microbe covering
the rear. Microbe was soon shocked by a security robot and in his
panic, he fell atop Debrii. The two then made their way into a dark
room, where they hid out until the security lost them. Debrii then
found a light switch and flipped it, revealing that they had stumbled
into a machine parts room. Using her powers to telekinetically armor
herself in machine parts, Debrii then punched her way to the other New
Warriors, arriving just in time to punch an Albert Einstein robot (of
the Mad Thinker's Intellectual Robots) into the ground, rescuing
Speedball with Microbe following closely behind her. A surprised
Speedball wondered what the giant armored robot-looking thing was, at
which point Debrii revealed that she was inside the armor and noted
that she was rescuing the New Warriors again before continuing on to
save the others while Microbe tended to Speedball's injuries. She soon
located Night Thrasher and pounded the Leonardo da Vinci robot into the
ground, much as she had done with the Albert Einstein robot. Speedball
soon rescued Nova and Debrii followed shortly behind, pounding the
Sigmund Freud robot into the ground as well. The regrouped New Warriors
then made their way to Namorita, who was battling the Virginia Woolf
robot. Moments after a repentant Woolf destroyed herself by walking
into
molten metal, Namorita asked about the other robots, to which Debrii
happily replied that she had smashed them all. Namorita quickly got
into Debrii's face, angrily noting that Debrii wasn't even supposed to
be there. She then attacked Debrii for killing the Intellectual Robots
but the rest of the Warriors soon calmed the hostilities. As the group
then walked from the Nucar plant back in town, Nova reminded Namorita
that the robots were never truly alive. Debrii then discarded her
machine part armor in the street, unaware of robot bystanders who had
been gathering data on the New Warriors.
(New Warriors III#6) - While on the way to Smyrna, Delaware, where the villainous Corruptor had been exposed as the town mayor, Debrii was sandwiched in the backseat next to Microbe and she grumbled that the New Warriors should get into town and get the mission over with before asking Nova what she needed to know about the Corruptor. Nova then explained the Corruptor's powers to Debrii, bragging about his time with the intergalactic Nova Corps, before he accidentally crashed the winnebago into elderly couple Willard and Edith. Feeling like the New Warriors had the light, an angry Debrii got out and stomped over towards the couple but Namorita held Debrii back, noting that her "unique interpersonal skills" might not be productive in this situation. Eventually, the Warriors escaped Willard and Edith and met up with Ashley Brothers, with whom they deduced that the Corruptor seemed to somehow be affecting the entire town of Smyrna. Making their way into the mayoral mansion, the New Warriors learned that the Corruptor was harvesting his sweat to water plants that then exuded his negativity-inducing chemicals and while in the mayor's greenhouse, Debrii and the other New Warriors became affected by the Corruptor's chemicals as well. Debrii and most of the other New Warriors then erupted into fights as Microbe, retaining his clear mind but sickened due to the germs he communicated with turning against him due to the Corruptor's influence, tackled the Corruptor with a large hug. The sheer weight of the sickened Microbe knocked the Corruptor through one of the greenhouse's glass windows and the fresh air cleared the New Warriors' minds. The Corruptor was then taken into custody and when an EMT tried to detox Debrii, she angrily told the EMT she was fine, leading the EMT to think Debrii was still affected by the Corruptor's influence until the other New Warriors vouched that Debrii was always like that. As the New Warriors recovered, Ashley Brothers informed them that their reality show had been put on hiatus. Shortly after, Nova agreed to take Debrii home.
(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z HC Vol. 3 - Debrii
entry - BTS) - Debrii chose not to rejoin the New Warriors when their
reality show was picked up by a different network.
(She-Hulk II#8 (fb) - BTS) -
Following the restarted New Warriors
accidentally caused an explosion in Stamford, Connecticut while
battling the explosive Nitro, a New Warriors hate site publicly outed
Debrii's
real name and her car was overturned and torched. Escaping the
wreckage, Debrii cursed as her car went up in flames. The website also
monitored the living status on each active and former New Warrior,
noting in their online dead pool that Debrii was still alive.
(Civil War I#4 (fb) - BTS) -
After the passage of the Superhuman Registration Act,
Debrii joined up with Captain America's Secret Avengers resisting the
SHRA.
(Civil War I#4) - Following a devastating battle at the Geffen-Meyer
chemical plant against Iron Man's pro-SHRA forces, Debrii was present
in the Secret Avengers' headquarters as the injured Captain America
discussed the opinion of Nighthawk that the Secret Avengers seek
amnesty.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Debrii reluctantly registered following Captain America's eventual surrender, joining the newly-created Initiative training program.
(Mighty Avengers I#1 (fb) - BTS) - While subsequently working to
form a new Avengers team in the wake of
the superhuman civil war over the SHRA, Iron Man met with Carol
Danvers and projected images of numerous registered heroes including
Debrii to pick from for a new Avengers roster.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#1) -
As a trainee in the Initiative
program at Camp Hammond in Stamford, Connecticut, Debrii witnessed,
alongside several other Initiative recruits, new recruit MVP ace all of
physical training courses.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#6 (fb)) - Debrii participated in an
obstacle course drill alongside Thor Girl and other Initiative trainees
during which she noticed Justice speaking with Initiative drill
instructor Gauntlet. When Justice and Gauntlet soon got into a physical
altercation, Debrii and Thor Girl attempted to hold back Gauntlet while
Ultragirl tried to hold back Justice.|
(Avengers: The Initiative I#6) -
Days later, Debrii participated in
a training drill session during which Gauntlet berated six of the
Initiative trainees that had recently went rogue during a battle
against the Hulk. When Gauntlet was later severely beaten, Debrii and
other Initiative trainees who were formerly New Warriors were placed in
the Camp Hammond Brig. While there, she waited quietly as the others
discussed the severity of the attack on Gauntlet and how one of them
had to be the culprit. Not long after former New Warrior and Initiative
instructor Justice was also placed in the Brig, Debrii was called in
for interrogation regarding the attack on Gauntlet. During her
interrogation, Debrii informed the armored officers that Justice had a
run-in with Gauntlet a few days earlier.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#10 (fb)) - Debrii met with other former
New Warriors Initiative trainees to discuss the possibility that
Justice had gone rogue. As Debrii commented on how it was not a good
time to be an ex-New Warrior, Slapstick began struggling to say
something and eventually, Debrii suggested Slapstick be allowed to
speak his mind. Slapstick nearly admitted that he had beaten up
Gauntlet but he was interrupted when his old New Warriors communicator
went off. Debrii and the other former New Warriors then watched as
Slapstick searched his infinite pocket space until he found the
communicator. They all then watched as the communicator played a
message from Justice mentioning some secrets about MVP and asking them
all to quietly go AWOL from the Initiative to meet him in Tennessee.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#10) -
Meeting Justice in Bull's Gap,
Tennessee, Debrii and the other former New Warriors ventured to the Van
Patrick home, where they arrived just in time to stop a small group of
other Initiative recruits from using a mind-overriding device on a MVP
clone that resided there with the original MVP's father.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#11) - Debrii was present as Slapstick
tied up the Initiative trainees and listened as the trainees warned of
the impending arrival of a murderous MVP clone called KIA. As the
Initiative trainees attempted to explain how their mind-overriding
device would download the clone's memories and transmit them into KIA,
effectively rebooting his mind, KIA destroyed the Van Patrick home,
surprising both the former New Warriors and the Initiative trainees.
Debrii and the former New Warriors then engaged KIA but he easily
defeated both Justice and Slapstick. KIA then poisoned Initiative
trainee Komodo, prompting Debrii and Rage to attack but their attacks
reflected off of the energy shield generated by KIA. As the fight
progressed, the Avengers arrived to join in the battle and Cloud 9
ruthlessly projected her clouds into KIA via a kiss, surprising Debrii
and the other heroes. The MVP clone eventually used the mind-overriding
device to wipe KIA's mind and Debrii joined the other heroes in
recovering from the fierce battle.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#12 (fb)) - Following the battle, Debrii
stood by Justice's side as he informed Iron Man that he and the other
former New Warriors would not be returning to the Initiative and
instead, would be forming a group called Counter Force to keep an eye
on and actively oppose the secret dealings of the Initiative program.
Iron Man agreed to give Counter Force a headstart and warned them
against doing anything illegal. Justice assured Iron Man they would
turn themselves in if anything illegal occurred and he then turned to
the other former New Warriors including Debrii and assured them that no
one was forcing them to leave the Initiative. Admitting that she had
originally only joined the New Warriors to get famous, Debrii remarked
on how she now found herself going underground with a bunch of
vigilante fugitives. She then decided to join Counter Force,
sarcastically commenting that the Initiative's camouflage pants made
her butt look big.
(New Warriors IV#14 (fb) - BTS) - When a new New Warriors team
emerged led by a new Night Thrasher, Counter Force, unaware that this
new Night Thrasher was not the original, began keeping tabs on one of
the original Night Thrasher's old Appalachian safe houses in case the
new Night Thrasher showed up there.
(New Warriors IV#11) - Debrii
and the rest of Counter Force (as well
as former New Warrior Ultragirl) were summoned back to Camp Hammond for
an interview with reporter Sally Floyd, who was curious to learn what
the former New Warriors thought about Donyell Taylor's recent New
Warriors team. When Sally began asking hard-hitting questions, claiming
the people wanted to know, Justice interjected that it was none of the
people's business and Debrii interrupted to remark that, if the recent
New Warriors were honorable, they would register with the government
but they were instead acting like rats in a gutter that no one cared
about. Sally responded by reminding Debrii that the recent New Warriors
had quite the fan following among the younger crowd, to which Debrii
commented that there was no accounting for taste.

(New Warriors IV#14) - When the new Night Thrasher
ventured to the
original Night Thrasher's Appalachian safe house as predicted, a silent
alarm planted in the floorboards by Counter Force alerted them to his
presence and Debrii accompanied Counter Force to confront Night
Thrasher. After the new Night Thrasher refused to answer whether he was
or was not the original Night Thrasher, Dwayne Taylor, Justice admitted
his suspicions that, as alien Skrulls were invading Earth, the new
Night Thrasher was a Skrull and Debrii remarked on the possibility
making sense, as it was a good way to upset Earth's superhuman forces
by posing as outlaw heroes to gain public support. Night Thrasher
insisted he was not a Skrull but when he readied himself for an attack,
Slapstick attacked first, leading to a brief fight against Night
Thrasher before the rest of Thrasher's New Warriors arrived on the
scene.
(New Warriors IV#15) - Counter Force and Night Thrasher's New
Warriors team battled one another, with Debrii using her powers to move
rocks to attack the New Warrior Tempest. The battle was soon ended when
the new Night Thrasher unmasked, revealing his identity as Donyell
Taylor to both Counter Force and his own team of New Warriors for the
first time. When Donyell admitted he was trying to uncover whether the
Night Thrasher that had been killed in Stamford, Connecticut was an
undercover alien Skrull, Justice agreed to help Night Thrasher uncover
the truth and Debrii soon accompanied Counter Force and the New
Warriors on a mission to inspect the corpses of the deceased New
Warriors that had been killed in Stamford. Arriving at the S.H.I.E.L.D.
forensics Helicarrier where the corpses were being held, Justice and
Night Thrasher had Counter Force and the New Warriors keep S.H.I.E.L.D.
and the attacking alien Skrulls busy while they ventured further inside
the Helicarrier. Debrii and the other heroes aided S.H.I.E.L.D. against
the invading Skrulls and when a Super-Skrull arrived on the scene,
Debrii helped the others battle it by hurling debris at it. She then
used her powers to collapse the floors beneath two groups of attacking
Skrulls and the Super-Skrull was soon defeated by a combined effort
from both teams. S.H.I.E.L.D. reinforcements arrived soon after and the
injured S.H.I.E.L.D. agents suggested the New Warriors leave the scene,
a suggestion seconded by Debrii, who reminded the New Warriors that
they were still considered outlaws. Both teams then left the
Helicarrier, followed shortly after by Justice and Night Thrasher, who
had confirmed the deceased New Warriors were not Skrulls and taken the
New Warrior corpses with them. The next day, Debrii attended a funeral
service alongside the rest of Counter Force and Donyell's New Warriors
for the original Night Thrasher, Microbe and Namorita.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#21
(fb) - BTS) - After Iron Man was
removed as head of Earth's superhuman forces and the corrupt Norman
Osborn was installed as the new head, Osborn publicly denounced Debrii
and the rest of Counter Force, now with the new Night Thrasher as a
reformed New Warriors, arranging wanted posters to be displayed across
the country. Deciding that the Initiative had no right to retain the
corpse of deceased Initiative recruit MVP, Justice led Debrii and the
other New Warriors towards Camp Hammond to gather MVP's corpse.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#21) - As Norman Osborn began taking over the Initiative, Ultragirl witnessed a wanted poster featuring Debrii and the other New Warriors being put up in the Camp Hammond Administrative Building. Arguing that Iron Man had agreed to let Counter Force go free, Ultragirl was informed that a lot of Iron Man's decisions were being reconsidered and Ultragirl was ordered to turn over her costume that had once belonged to Ms. Marvel. As the malfunctioning Thor construct called Ragnarok later attacked Camp Hammond, Debrii and the other New Warriors arrived on the scene to find the construct attacking the Initiative.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#22) - The reformed New Warriors engaged Ragnarok, who quickly gained the upper hand despite the determination of the Warriors. Gauntlet soon led the higher level Initiative recruits into battle to assist the New Warriors and during the battle, one of the Scarlet Spiders was killed. Eventually, the Initiative's Baron von Blitzschlag convinced Ragnarok to flee the scene to seek answers as to his Asgardian origins and in the aftermath of the battle, Gauntlet attempted to arrest Debrii and the other New Warriors as wanted fugitives. As a surprised Debrii watched, Ultragirl argued against the New Warriors' arrest and Justice refused to go into custody, instead revealing that they had come to take MVP's corpse home.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#23)
- Debrii remained by the New
Warriors' side as Justice publicly revealed to reporters how the
Initiative had been keeping the deceased MVP on ice and cloning him
with his family's consent. Refusing further questioning, Justice then
flew off with MVP's corpse, followed behind by Debrii and the rest of
the New Warriors. As they departed, Ultragirl quit the Initiative and
joined the New Warriors.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#25) - Traveling to a rural Mississippi safe house belonging to Brian Van Patrick, Debrii and the New Warriors touched down and delivered MVP's corpse to his father. An emotional Brian Van Patrick then asked the New Warriors to leave, noting that he could not prevent himself from being consumed by anger at the Initiative for what had happened to his son, and when Justice suggested they do just that, Debrii questioned where they would go since they were wanted fugitives. Night Thrasher assured Debrii that while Night Thrasher was wanted, Donyell Taylor was not and had all the resources of the Taylor Foundation at his disposal. A short time later, Debrii and the other New Warriors came to the rescue of former Initiative staff Gauntlet and Tigra, who had been targeted by Norman Osborn and members of his ally the Hood's Army. Revealing their plans to expose Norman Osborn's corruption, Justice invited Gauntlet and Tigra to join them and they accepted, renaming their group the Avengers Resistance in opposition of Osborn's dark Avengers.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#26 (fb) - BTS) - Debrii and the rest of
the Avengers Resistance took to basing themselves out of Chicago's
Taylor Foundation Building.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#26) - Debrii was present in the Taylor Foundation Building when some of the other Resistance members returned from a mission in North Carolina. Debrii asked Night Thrasher how the mission went and Night Thrasher admitted they received nothing but more bad press. Debrii then watched as Rage and Night Thrasher got into a heated argument about the Resistance's tactics but Justice and Gauntlet quickly broke up the fight, reminding everyone how they had to work together since failure was not an option.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#28)
- Debrii watched with the other
Resistance members as the heroic Heavy Hitters announced on television
that they were seceding from Norman Osborn's Initiative. Rage insisted
the Avengers Resistance needed to back the Heavy Hitters up,
questioning what they were doing if not helping against Osborn, to
which Debrii admitted she asked herself that same question every day.
The Resistance quickly agreed on a quick extraction mission to retrieve
the Heavy Hitters and discern the legitimacy of the secession claims
and Tigra soon ordered Justice, Scarlet Spider, Night Thrasher and
Debrii to act as the retrieval agents while Gauntlet, Slapstick, Rage
and Ultragirl acted as muscle to help clear a rescue path. Soon after,
the Avengers Resistance arrived in Las Vegas, where Osborn's corrupt
Initiative teams and members of the Hood's Army were attacking the
Heavy Hitters. During the battle, Night Thrasher was shot and Prodigy
convinced Justice to retreat as Debrii and the others were still
fighting. Justice reluctantly grabbed Debrii, the rest of the
Resistance and Heavy Hitters Telemetry and Nonstop and retreated from
the scene, leaving the injured Night Thrasher and Prodigy behind.
Debrii then accompanied the Avengers Resistance to a Los Angeles safe
house, where Tigra provided Nonstop with the address of Hank Pym for
assistance in getting out of the country. As Tigra was providing
Nonstop with advice, Debrii announced her plans to leave the
Resistance, noting that she never truly wanted to be a superhero, only
famous. Explaining how she had originally intended to stay with the
Resistance until they rescued the injured Night Thrasher, Debrii
remarked that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over
and over again expecting a different result and how she didn't wish to
part of any more superhero fights. She then commented that if Paris was
good enough for Josephine Baker, it was good enough for her before
hugging her teammates and wishing them the best. She then walked out of
the safe house with Telemetry and Nonstop, noting that she just
couldn't keep doing what she was doing.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#35
(fb) - BTS) - Moving to Paris, Debrii
became the "snarky" judge on a French television talent competition
show called Superpouvoir.
(Avengers: The Initiative I#35) - Following the repeal of the Superhuman Registration Act, the dissolution of the corrupt Initiative and the downfall of Norman Osborn, Debrii was not longer a fugitive but she remained in Paris to continue her work as a judge on Superpouvoir.
(Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt#1) - After being placed in charge of a
new volunteer Initiative program, Prodigy summoned several former
Initiative members, including Debrii. As news reporters broadcasted,
Prodigy asked the assembled young heroes to join his new Initiative.
(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z TPB Vol. 3 - Debrii
update text - BTS) - Debrii joined the Initiative's Heavy Hitters group.
(Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt#3) - Following an attack on Earth by
the Asgardian Serpent and his possessed followers, Debrii aided the
Heavy Hitters team, as well as Rage and Komodo, in setting a trap for
the Kuurth-possessed Juggernaut in Las Vegas, Nevada. When Kuurth fell
into the trap, only to immediately escape from it, Debrii sarcastically
commented on how awesome the situation was and asked Hardball what they
should do next. The Heavy Hitters, Komodo, Rage and Debrii soon engaged
Kuurth, who withstood nearly any attack they tried to mount.
Surrounding herself with a cloud of rock and debris to protect herself,
Debrii noted that nothing seemed to have an effect on Kuurth and that
he was like a force of nature. Shortly after, Debrii attempted to hit
Kuurth with bits of debris as Rage attempted to lift Kuurth but neither
attack had any effect. Hardball then began generating a large energy
sphere and ordered Debrii and Rage to retreat for their own safety.
(Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt#4)
- The Order was soon sent to assist Debrii, Komodo, Rage and the rest
of the Heavy Hitters and when they arrived and asked what they could do
to help, Debrii commented that she had no answer for them, as their
chosen decision-maker, Hardball, had just taken out a homeless
community living in the sewers where they had been battling Kuurth. The
Heavy Hitter Nonstop quickly argued that if Hardball hadn't generated
the large explosive sphere to get Kuurth out of there, many more would
have died, but Debrii sarcastically responded by commenting on the
acceptability of innocent deaths. The two heroines' argument swiftly
got heated, with each in each other's faces, but the argument was
interrupted by the return of the injured Hardball. Hardball was
immediately attacked by the incoming hero Gravity for causing the sewer
explosion and as the two heroes fought one another, Debrii and Rage
worked to clear some of the rubble caused by Hardball's energy
explosion. Rage noted during the excavation an earth rumble from the
southwest despite the Gravity-Hardball battle being north but Debrii
interjected when she found survivors in the rubble. Debrii then asked
for a clear path as she attempted to get the survivors to safety and
soon after, an earthquake rocked the scene.
(Fear Itself: Youth in Revolt#5) - When the earthquake did not subside, Debrii asked some of the Initiative members that had arrived to help what they should do next. She was later present when the earthquake was stabilized.
(Fear Itself: Youth in
Revolt#6) - Finding Desert Stars member Supermax looked depressed
nearby, Debrii assured him that the the worst was over and before the
two could discuss further, the injured Prodigy fell from the sky into
the rocky ground next to them. Getting back up, Prodigy remarked to
Debrii and Supermax that they had to stop Thor Girl, who had attacked
him in anger over being imprisoned. Armoring herself with earthquake
debris, Debrii joined Prodigy and Supermax in confronting Thor Girl,
who renewed her attack on Prodigy despite her pending transformation
into a higher level of existence.. Easily downing Debrii by smashing
her hammer through Debrii's armored form, Thor Girl was convinced to
allow Prodigy to explain himself regarding her imprisonment. Thor
Girl's transformation continued and Ultragirl subsequently arrived on
the scene and, having been told Thor Girl was going nuts, attacked.
Thor Girl easily swatted Ultragirl away, prompting Debrii and the other
assembled heroes to assume Thor Girl had lost control of herself.
Realizing Thor Girl was evolving into a new life form, Ultragirl tried
to warn the heroes against further attacks but they nonetheless
attacked Thor Girl anew. Debrii tried to hit Thor Girl with a cloud of
debris but her attack, like most of the others, had no effect. Thor
Girl ultimately left Earth, leaving Debrii and the other heroes behind
in the rubble, and Prodigy quickly reminded everyone that there were
civilians still in need of help. Debrii then joined the other heroes in
rushing to assist the earthquake survivors.
Comments: Created by Zeb Wells and Skottie Young.
The origins of Debrii's powers
were never explained. It's possible she is a mutant but she could also
be some sort of mutate or she could have gained her powers some other
way...
The Marvel Database lists Debrii as appearing in Avengers: The Initiative I#14 but I could not find her anywhere in the issue...
