First Appearance: Thunderbolts I#145 (August, 2010)
She likely has superhuman endurance and speed. She may or may not have enhanced olfactory senses. She is a savage and effective warrior, effective with the claws on the backs of her gloves and with an axe. She was previously feral, feeding on human corpses. Although she has become more socialized, she
still enjoys hunting and using her axe to wound or slay others. She can
catch a swimming fish with her teeth. She wields an Asgardian axe, forged from uru and
rendering it virtually indestructible, as well as -- in combination
with her superhuman strength -- able to slice through most objects and
beings.
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 100 lbs.; unless Asgardian flesh and bone are 3x denser than human, which has been stated repeatedly in past handbooks, but has been called into question; if they are, then she would be closer to 300 lbs.) Eyes: Light blue Hair: Brown |

Although the resulting daughter looked Asgardian, the Magzi raised her as one of theirs because of the heritage.
(Thunderbolts I#146 (fb) - BTS) - The
Asgardians captured some of the Magzi, including the young hybrid girl.
The Asgardians named her Gunna after her late mother, and Asgardian
matrons tried to bring her into Norse culture with little success. As a
result, she continued to be held in captivity with the Magzi. (Thunderbolts I#145 (fb) - BTS) - Along with an unspecified number of trolls, Gunna was imprisoned within a holding cell in the city of Asgard, which came to be based floating above the city of Broxton, Oklahoma, USA. When Asgard was destroyed during the Norman Osborn-led Siege, most of the imprisoned trolls were killed in the collapse, but three trolls made it out, and they began destroying everything in their paths, including killing an unspecified number of people. (Thunderbolts I#145 - BTS) - A group of
Thunderbolts -- Crossbones, Ghost, Juggernaut and Moonstone, implanted
with nanites under the control of Luke Cage and assisted by him and
Songbird -- were sent via the Man-Thing to the site where the trolls
were projected to be. As soon as the Thunderbolts arrived, the pair of
trolls attacked them. Cage instructed Songbird to stay with Man-Thing
to keep him out of trouble while the others struggled with the fierce
trolls. (Thunderbolts I#145) - Crossbones located and fired upon the third troll with his tranquilizer rounds (which were all he was allowed to use in order to prevent him from using lethal force or trying to betray his teammates and/or leaders), but rather than fall, she growled, grabbed her axe, and chopped down a tree, which fell on top of Crossbones. She then ambushed Ghost, striking and injuring his right elbow with her axe, despite his having been intangible. As Ghost sensed recently (within the last 30 minutes) devoured human corpses, Troll leapt to attack him from above, allowing him to see her true face, that of a girl. (Thunderbolts I#146) - Crossbones fired a tranquilizer dart into Troll's ear, dropping her. (Thunderbolts I#146 (fb) - BTS) - The
unconscious girl was brought to Thunderbolts Tower while Valkyrie
(Brunnhilde) was summoned to identify her. (Thunderbolts I#146) - After detailing Gunna's origins, Valkyrie offered to take her to Heimdall who would bring her to their new home; however, as the Magzi +/- Gunna had apparently eaten U.S. citizens, Warden John Walker insisted that she remain within Thunderbolts Tower until an American judge and jury had ruled on her fate. Cage defused the conflict by convincing both that Troll could remain there until Steve Rogers had arrived and delivered judgment. With Songbird -- as head of the women's ward -- assigned to orientate Gunna when she awakened, Cage told Songbird to tell her "Welcome to the Raft...Try not to eat anybody." (Thunderbolts I#147 (fb) - BTS) - Visiting Avengers Academy students set off an electromagnetic pulse at the Raft in a vain attempt to get vengeance on Norman Osborn. (Thunderbolts I#147 (fb)) - As Songbird was on the verge of being overwhelmed by escaped female inmates, Troll came to her rescue, fighting the inmates off. Only after the inmates had been driven back did Moonstone tear free a set of prison bars and contain them. When Moonstone tried to take credit, Songbird noted that she had just come in for the photo op, but that Troll had saved the day. |
.
.
(Thunderbolts I#148) - In the Raft cafeteria, a number of female inmates mocked Gunna for eating with her hands and then licking her tray. Songbird advised them that her name was Gunna, but they said it didn't matter what they called her, as she didn't understand it. However, when they asked Songbird if it was true that she had eaten the hunters around her, Gunna looked at them and replied, "Aye," shocking the inmates (including Moonstone) as well as Songbird.
(Thunderbolts I#153) - A trio of male prisoners approached the female section of the prison and taunted Troll with sexist comments. In response, she angrily smashed against the force field, after which guards led her back to the woman's wing. One of the guards suggested to warden John Walker that while she was strong enough to throw a truck, she was still too young for the Raft, yet she was too powerful for a juvenile facility. Walker agreed, noting that he had been giving the matter some thought and that he wanted to discuss it with the Thunderbolts. (Thunderbolts I#155) - Troll was a number of Raft inmates --
including one of the Blood Brothers, Dark Beast (Hank McCoy of
Earth-295/"Age of Apocalypse"), Mandrill/Jerome Beechman, Mr.
Hyde/Calvin Zabo, the Super-Skrull/Kl'rt --
selected by John Walker and Songbird to be a beta group of potential
Thunderbolts members. (Thunderbolts I#157 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Valkyrie, who was the official advisor for Troll, suggested a war axe for her. (Thunderbolts I#156) - Songbird interviewed Troll, clarifying that it was a formality as they thought she was perfect for the program and reviewing that she posed a problem for the legal system, as she was too young to be in prison but was potentially very dangerous due to her upbringing. Troll replied that she wanted to fight alongside Songbird. |
.
.
As Mach-5 and Techno explained the candidacy
system to the recruits, Troll rushed forward and hefted a war axe (that
Boomerang could not lift off the ground) into the air with one hand;
Mach-5 noted that Valkyrie had suggested it for her, after which he
began to explain the "no-kill" rule. When Techno reported an urgent mission in Najaf,
Iraq while the main team was still out, Mach-5, Songbird and Techno
took Troll and the rest of the beta team -- Boomerang, Centurius, Hyde
& Shocker -- there, alongside Ghost, Man-Thing, Moonstone and
Satana. There they were attacked by zombies. (Thunderbolts I#158) - As zombies threatened to overwhelm Boomerang,
Troll swung her axe, cutting in half the skulls of those zombies. After
Satana's mystic barrier failed to hold back the zombies, Centurius
determined there to be a spore spread through the air that attached to
the dead and was activated by an electrolytic impulse. After he further
identified an obelisk as the source of the impulse, Moonstone destroyed
the obelisk, and the Thunderbolts destroyed the still-moving zombies
until they "ran out of charge." Receiving reports of the Juggernaut (who had been possessed by Kurth of the Worthy) having instigated a breakout back at the Raft, the Thunderbolts had the Man-Thing transport them back there. Troll stood by the others as they intimidated inmates still on the shore into surrendering and being taken back into custody. (Thunderbolts I#160) - Alongside Ghost, Moonstone, Satana and the rest of the beta team within the damaged Raft, Troll apparently fed on emergency rations, after which she pounded on the walls. (Thunderbolts I#161) - Troll sat with the rest of the beta team
while Centurius monitored the Thunderbolts' conflict in Chicago
(apparently by having tapped into Fixer's systems). (Thunderbolts I#161) - As Satana accessed the power from the
Man-Thing's habitat, Fixer summoned Troll, Boomerang, Centurius, Hyde
& Shocker to the control room in preparation for departure for
Chicago. (Thunderbolts I#162 (fb) - BTS) - Satana transported Thunderbolts
Tower, including herself, Fixer, Troll, and Boomerang, Centurius, Hyde
& Shocker to Chicago.
Slashing some of the amphibious creatures with her axe, Troll watched
Hyde eat some of them, after which she did the same. Man-Thing subsequently absorbed all
of the amphibious creatures, growing to giant-size before burning out
this form; Satana captured the bulb of his future incarnation and
returned with it and Moonstone to Thunderbolts Tower. Later, as Fixer joined with Centurius, Hyde and Boomerang in a plot to escape via the Thunderbolts Tower. Troll apparently leapt onto the giant Man-Thing's form as it went up in flames and the Tower vanished. |

.
The group and tower were soon confronted by Nazis, and Troll joined the others in battling them, at which point they were joined by Captain America and Namor. Taking a more appropriate costume for the time period, Moonstone introduced her team as the American Thunderbolts. (Thunderbolts I#164) - While Satana, Boomerang and "Doc Century" also took on time appropriate forms, Troll and Mr. Hyde retained their original forms, and Troll was described as a Borneo wild girl. Captain America that their ally the Human Torch had been captured by Zemo. ![]() After Captain America and Namor departed and the other Thunderbolts went into the habitat, Troll jumped into the lake and caught a fish with her teeth. As she ate it, Mr. Hyde amusedly noted that she was a "right little beast" and told her to catch a few for him after they were done with the task, "the kind of job that goes to them who hain't trusted to lie." They captured a number of Nazis and then brought them to the habitat, and Hyde dumped them into swamp waters, where they were consumed and used as ingredients to restore the ecosystem. As the other Thunderbolts debated what was safest for them and the timestream regarding assisting the Invaders against Zemo, Zemo unleashed his army of Human Torch clones. (Thunderbolts I#165) - Hyde carried Troll in his hand as the Thunderbolts prepared to engage Zemo's Torch clones, and she hacked apart some clones with her axe. At least one of those was used to provide cellular analysis by Centurius. Hyde had to drag along Troll, who did not understand the plan, when Centurius had the others lead the Torch clones over to the north-facing slope of the mountain, after which Hyde caused an avalanche to douse their flames. As Troll and the others destroyed the cooled-down Thunderbolts, Centurius, Moonstone and the Fixer confronted Zemo, recovered and restored the vivisected Torch, and used Zemo's power sources to power the Thunderbolts Tower battery bank. The Thunderbolts activated the tower, intending to travel 800 miles north, and they vanished... |

(Thunderbolts I#166 (fb) - BTS) - The Thunderbolts arrived in London, England, some time before August 31, 1888, with their Tower ending up in the middle of the river Thames. (Thunderbolts
I#167 (fb) - BTS) - Satana's presence -- as a powerful matriarch -- triggered an ancient spell that
revived the Iceni, the warriors of the Celtic tribal queen Boudica from
2000 years earlier. Unable to rise in the light of day, the Iceni found
hosts in local prostitutes, who walked the streets at night. (Thunderbolts I#166 (fb) - BTS) - A ripperologist intrigued with the era, Hyde departed, and Satana pursued him, leading the others to adopt contemporary forms and search for them. (Thunderbolts I#167 (fb) - BTS) - The Iceni occupied Hyde and housed him to lure Satana to them. When Satana refused to join the Iceni's private war, they used a foul curse to imprison her. Seeking to kill the Iceni's Curse-Keeper to free Satana, Hyde began committing the Jack
the Ripper murders (see comments),
while the Iceni used their magic to prevent Hyde from reuniting with
the other Thunderbolts. They further caused the Thunderbolts to make
decisions that would prevent them from locating Hyde and Satana. (Thunderbolts
I#166) <September 30, 1888> - Constable Adolphus Williamson and Inspector Aberline, having glimpsed the tower in the
fog, arrived by boat, and the Thunderbolts appeared them in contemporary forms via image inducers. Centurius assessed that Satana was apparently using magic specifically against her allies
but not the local authorities, and he expressed that a brief alliance
would serve both their ends. To convince the constables of their
abilities, Fixer detailed a list of crimes to happen the next day. (Thunderbolts
I#166 - BTS) - Meanwhile, back in the modern time period, Valkyrie
led Cage, Ghost, Mach-V and Songbird to the Hardangervidda
plateau, Norway and had them use an ancient machine to make a
connection to Troll's axe. (Thunderbolts I#166 (fb) - BTS) <October 1, 1888> - Centurius worked with Troll on speaking properly, using at least some of the techniques from "My Fair Lady." (Thunderbolts I#166) <October 2, 1888> - Centurius continued to work with Troll on her speech, complimenting her on almost forming a proper sentence. Following Aberline's lead, they located Hyde and the Iceni-bound Satana and disengaged their image inducers. (Thunderbolts
I#167) <October 2, 1888> - As the other Thunderbolts attacked
Hyde, Troll sided with Hyde, who then hurled the Curse-Keeper at her.
As Troll lifted her axe to her defense and sliced the Curse-Keeper in
half, the binding spell was broken, and Satana regained her power and
broke free from the Iceni. After Satan tore out and consumed the souls of two of the Iceni, a third one tried to possess Troll, who initially shouted, "Off Troll! Off!" However, when the creature forced itself through her mouth and pronounced her a fitting target as a "warrior girl,"Troll denied that description and cast the creature out, and Satana consumed the third Iceni. Satana detailed the Iceni's history and threat and then led the Thunderbolts (as well as Williamson and Aberline) to a warehouse containing the corpses of dozens of indigents the Iceni had captured and used for power. (Thunderbolts
I#167 - BTS) - Back in the modern time
period, while the ancient machine locked onto the axe, the limited
connection to the axe of those present prevented them from passing
through the portal. Decreasing his mass to that of a single (atom?; he
never finished the thought), Ghost traveled back into the past. (Thunderbolts I#167 (fb) - BTS) - Troll and Hyde +/- Moonstone and Fixer transported the corpses back to the Tower's habitat and dumped them into swamp waters, where they were consumed and used as ingredients to restore the ecosystem. (Thunderbolts I#167) - Troll and Hyde watched as the swamp consumed the corpses. (Thunderbolts I#167 - BTS) - Satana, Centurius and Boomerang confronted and ultimately slew the last of the Iceni, ensuring that the death of Mary Jane Kelly would match the historical records of historical records of her death at Jack the Ripper's hands. |

.
(Thunderbolts
I#169 (fb) - BTS) <537 AD> - Boomerang
was instructed to keep Troll within the tower, but when she grunted,
"Hunt" a lot and bounced out of the room, he let her go. (Thunderbolts
I#169) - While
hunting a rabbit, Troll heard and smelled an approaching horse.
Recalling the beating she had received during her capture, Troll
attacked the rider, who turned out to be the Black Knight. She
shattered his shield with her axe, only after which did she realize
that he was not a Norseman. As Sir Percy drew his sword and confronted her, she yelled, "Unfight" to no avail; as their weapons struck, Merlin sensed the
Ebony Blade striking Asgardian metal. Although she swatted him back
with her superior strength, his superior swordsmanship swiftly shredded
her garments. Realizing she was a girl, the Black Knight paused, as chivalric code forbade him from fighting a woman, at which point Boomerang arrived and disarmed him before incapacitating him with an electric shock-rang. As he was running low on boomerangs, Myers claimed the Ebony Blade for himself, loaded the Black Knight up on his steed and sent him home and then returned with Troll to Thunderbolts Tower. (Thunderbolts
I#169 (fb) - BTS) - The theft of the Ebony Blade caused Merlin to lead King Arthur and the Knights of the
Round Table (including Lancelot and Galahad) to Thunderbolts Tower. (Thunderbolts I#169 (fb) - BTS) - Centurius coached Fixer on how to properly address King Arthur, and the Thunderbolts adopted forms appropriate to the age. (Thunderbolts I#169) - Although the other Thunderbolts asked Arthur's patience until they could peacefully depart from the time to which they had been sent, Boomerang refused to yield the Black Knight's sword. Ultimately, Hyde provoked a fight, but Merlin's magics turned their assaults back on them, and the Thunderbolts were incapacitated by Satana's sleep spell. (Thunderbolts I#169 (fb) - BTS) - The Thunderbolts were taken to Camelot's dungeon. (Thunderbolts I#169) - In the dungeon, the brother of Grendel told Troll and the others where they were and that there was no escape from this place. |
.
.
(Thunderbolts
I#170) - Although their bonds were unbreakable by force or magic,
Ghost then arrived with the key, freed
the Thunderbolts, and then led them up a passage only Merlin used,
leading to his observatory. After reclaiming her axe, Troll jumped atop a dragon that had confronted the group, and she ultimately took control if it and had it carry her and Hyde back to Thunderbolts Tower. With the Thunderbolts release of
the monsters from the dungeon and their subsequent slaughter by the
Knights of the Round Table, Merlin's plan to have those creatures
thwart Mordred's future attack -- which would be the downfall of
Camelot -- was undone, and Merlin (to get rid of them) peacefully aided
their time travel, tying it to Moonstone's Moongem to allow them to
head forward in time again. They then traveled forward in time, a few years before their time, where they encountered the newly-formed Thunderbolts. (Thunderbolts
I#172) - The modern/future Thunderbolts fled into the sewers to
avoid the past/present Thunderbolts,
but the contemporary group found them anyway. When Mach-1 prepared to
unleash heavy warheads against Mr. Hyde, Troll slammed her axe into the
ground, unleashing an energy shockwave that knocked Mach-1 back. (Thunderbolts
I#173) - Considering
Songbird a friend, Troll was taken out when Songbird formed a sonic
battering ram and smashed into the cavern beside her. After Satana incapacitated both groups of Thunderbolts to stop the fight, Fixer used anti-gravity discs to return Troll and the others to the Tower. There, Citizen V/Zemo made a truce by proposing they loot the vacant Castle Doom (with Doom having vanished during the final conflict with Onslaught) to utilize his time machine to send the future Thunderbolts back to their time period. During a peaceful party thereafter, Troll
sat on Hyde's lap reach for the keg of beer that he chugged down. Troll subsequently joined
surprised members of both groups in discovering the Fixer after he had
murdered his past self. (Thunderbolts
I#174) - As the temporal paradox of Fixer killing his younger self
caused atmospheric disruption like constant shooting stars, Troll
became afraid, noting, "Troll not like." She subsequently advised Satana, "Make Magic," but Satana told her that this was beyond her. When Centurius led the others to identify those slain by the Tower's arrival, Troll held up an identification card to Boomerang, noting, "Troll not read."; after confirming their future's reports that those people had gone missing, Centurius had Hyde feed them to the Man-Thing's swamp. (Thunderbolts I#174 - BTS) - Unbeknownst to Centurius, Hyde also threw Techno's corpse into the swamp. (Thunderbolts I#174) - Ultimately, Centurius surgically altered Fixer to match Techno's appearance and used his own enzymes to restore him to that physical age and then his own serum to remove Techno's memories prior to that point. Centurius also had all of the past/present Thunderbolts injected with a serum to remove their memories of the last six hours. (Thunderbolts I#174 (fb) - BTS) - The future/present Thunderbolts traveled through time again, leaving the past/current Thunderbolts to revive and think they had just encountered some after-effect of Onslaught. |
.
.
(Dark Avengers I#176) - Having escaped from the tower, Troll caught with her teeth a bone that one of the Australopithecus hominids threw at the building. Growling at the hominids, troll prepared to engage them before Moonstone swooped down and grabbed her, chiding her for escaping and risking being killed or disrupting the past. As Moonstone returned with the escaped Troll, Centurius warned that this far back in time, the "butterfly effect" of any alterations made would almost surely affect the course of history beyond their ability to right it.
When Moonstone accused Satana of causing them to go back in time and then threatened her, Troll told her "No touch devil lady! She Troll friend!" Seeing another time-traveler (Dr. Doom, although they did not recognize his unarmored form) assaulted by megalodons, the Thunderbolts resolved to save him in case he might have a working time machine. As Moonstone returned with Doom, the tower traveled backward in time again.
They then arrived in a period when the surface was more barren rock and
the atmosphere contained more ammonia, apparently the dawn of life on
Earth. Some of the surface water
present washed into the hole made into the bottom of the tower by the
other Thunderbolts team, mixing with the Man-Thing's habitat before
Moonstone sealed the wall. Re-formed as the first sentience on Earth,
the now-speaking Man-Thing revealed that
he had been pulling them back in time to reach the beginning where the
potential of life was most abundant. As everyone present heard the
Man-Thing speak in their own language/speech pattern, Troll was pleased
when he thanked her for feeding him. Requiring rest, the Man-Thing
noted that his will would no longer interfere with their temporal
settings
and that they may return home. However, Doom then activated the time machine and revealed his identity/presence. After Doom noted that he would send them into the far future where their tower would self-destruct, the Thunderbolts attacked Doom. (Dark Avengers I#177) - Transported to Castle Doom, Latveria, a few years prior to the time from which the Thunderbolts had departed, Troll joined the others in attacking the arriving Doombots. After Boomerang was saved from being electrocuted by a Doombot, Troll continued fighting, shouting that they would avenge "Boomer." |
.
.
Ultimately, after Satana briefly sent Doom's astral self to Hell, the Thunderbolts fled from Doom's overwhelming forces back into their Tower (with Satana levitating Troll behind her), which again traveled through time, this time emerging some 80 years in the future of Reality-12177, where they were observed by Boss Cage. (Dark Avengers I#178) - Realizing Doom had set their equipment to explode, Centurius warned the Thunderbolts they had seven seconds to escape the Tower, which they did. While possessing the power to move them through time, the Man-Thing's new sentience prevented it/him from doing it via instinct as before, and he knew not how to accomplish this. They were then confronted by Boss
Cage, who commanded their surrender while landing on Mr. Hyde, to which
Troll shouted, "Rharr! No drive on Hyde!" Troll subsequently leapt at Boss Cage, ax raised, but Cage projected some netting from his wrist that contained her. (Dark Avengers I#179) - As Octolizard and his Outlanders subsequently attacked and overwhelmed him, Boss Cage set his cycle's core to explode, and Man-Thing transported the Thunderbolts and (unintentionally) the Outlanders a safe distance away from the nuclear explosion. When the Outlanders noted that they were in the Tolerance Zone outside Mondo City 1 and suggested they force their way through the nearest zone gate and kill Boss Cage, Centurius advised them that their tribe needed to talk. After Ghost revealed how events happening in their present in Sharzhad had led to the future timeline they were in, Centurius and Ghost were surprised to receive a message from Pym and Cage from their own time, revealing how Pym had set up a transmitter in the center of the Nexus of Realities in the Man-Thing's swamp, which they could use as a target to navigate back to their own time. Centurius subsequently informed the Outlanders that they would help them break into the city, and when Troll asked, "Why we help uglies attack?", Ghost explained that they needed to get into the city to connect back to the signal Luke Cage and Pym had set up from their reality.(Dark
Avengers I#180 (fb) - BTS) - Man-Thing's first attempt to teleport the
Thunderbolts to the Outlander camp brought them to the other side of
the planet. (Dark Avengers I#180) - After the Man-Thing successfully teleported the Thunderbolts to the Outlander camp, Satana referenced their goal of connecting to the signal Pym and Cage had set up. Assuming she was allied with Boss Cage, Vulcha of the Outlanders leapt at Satana, but Troll chopped off a significant portion of Vulcha's right wing, shouting, "No claw Satana!" When Mondo City's Rigellian
technology proved resistant to the Man-Thing's teleportation, however,
the Thunderbolts were forced to re-ally with the Outlanders. After Ghost received information transmitted from their past timeline via Mach V, Centurius and the Ghost explained that the Federal Advisory Committee to the Thunderbolts (F.A.C.T.) had sent a team of Thunderbolts on a mission to the North African advanced nation of Sharzhad that would lead to the future of Reality-12177 in which they were currently trapped. Centurius noted that if they could reach Mondo City's tower that channeled the force wall energy, they should be in a perfect place to reach the signal and travel back to their own time. (Dark
Avengers I#180 (fb) - BTS) - Ghost sent a message back to Reality-616's
present time for John Walker to recruit the Juggernaut to help them
when they returned. (Dark
Avengers I#181) - As the Thunderbolts and mutates gathered outside
Mondo City, Troll joined the mutated in cheering for the impending
slaughter. Centurius noted that Moonstone could push through the steel
gate and that once they had traveled back to the past, they could
prevent this future from existing. However, once the gate was down,
Mondo City guards blasted a hole through Man-Thing, who was forced to
rest and regenerate rather than teleport them to the control tower as
planned. Projecting a force field, Centurius urged the others to reach
the tower. Seeing Boss Cage (or another Boss)
fighting with his back turned to her, Troll rushed to strike him with
her axe to help her teammates, although tears poured from her eyes,
apparently at the idea of killing (rather than slaying in fair combat).
Apparently appreciating this, Hyde grabbed Troll, told her she was no
killer and tossed her back into the city, where Moonstone caught her. Once Man-Thing recovered, he transported them to the control tower, and Centurius and Ghost found a console that allowed then to locate the signal/message sent by Pym, and Ghost transmitted the signal to Man-Thing. However, before Man-Thing could lock onto the signal and transport them back to their own time, Boss Cage confronted them. (Dark Avengers I#182) - After Centurius stated that this dystopian future would never exist if the Thunderbolts were successful in their mission (see comments), Boss Cage allowed them to depart. Via Man-Thing's power, Centurius and the rest of his team returned to their present in Sharzhad to aid the other Thunderbolts in preventing the events that would lead to Reality-12177's future. The Juggernaut then smashed a hole in Sultan Magus' dome, and ultimately Centurius stole Skaar's sword and used it to impale slay the energy-channeling Erik Wender to neutralize the energy build-up. When Songbird first greeted her,
Troll pushed her away, but following the conflict's resolution,
Songbird reached her, and Troll took off her helmet and hugged her,
saying "Troll back." (Dark Avengers I#183 (fb) - BTS) - Centurius and his group arranged with Man-Thing to teleport them away to escape at some point. (Dark Avengers I#183) - Troll and her team remained silent as John Walker arrived and collected the Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts and Ms. Kell to take them to prison. When Walker offered to take the work-release Thunderbolts back with him, Cage declined, noting that they had come back through hell to get there and stop the operation that was wrecking the world; he'd teleport back with them and take the blame if anything went wrong. When Toxie Doxie took control of Skaar and nearly crashed the ship, Man-Thing teleported the entire ship, with the Dark Avengers and Skaar, plus Moonstone back to the Raft. After the Man-Thing teleported back to the Raft, Cage correctly identified that only he, Songbird, and Mach-5 had phased into reality, as Man-Thing was going to teleport them elsewhere. As they teleported away, Hyde dropped Troll with Cage and Songbird so she could avoid a criminal path in life. Struggling futilely to go back through the portal, Troll was sad to have been left behind. |

Comments: Created by Jeff Parker and Kev Walker.
Jeff Parker's run on the Thunderbolts was REALLY
good, comparable in entertainment and intrigue to the original run with
Fabian Nicieza and Kurt Busiek, but with a different type of
creativity. The characterization was very strong, and it made every
character involved more memorable.
The whole Ripper thing ret-con would be a LOT more cool to me if there
weren't already multiple Ripper stories that I don't think really fit
with Hyde being the killer. I discuss the matter somewhat in the comments for the Iceni profile.
I'm no geologist or world historian, but while Dark Avengers#176 referred to the Pleistocene era, my "never-wrong on-line research" notes that it was rather the Pleistocene epoch.
In common usage, era and epoch are synonyms, but in geologic terms,
eras are divisions of eons, while eras are divided into periods that
are divided into epochs. Regardless, that time period spans from about
2.58 million to 11,600 years ago. The fact that there were
Australopithecus present (as identified by Ghost), would put it in the
early Pleistocene sub-epoch, between 2.58 million and 774,000 years
ago. And the fact that it is specifically referred to as the dawn of
man makes me think it is closer to the earliest part of that period.
The scene with the Thunderbolts tower was almost certainly purposefully
reminiscent of the scene with from 2001: A Space Odyssey with the
hominids and the Monolith.
Despite many stories seemingly showing changing the past as erasing or preventing a future, what typically happens is that just diverges the two timelines (preventing Earth-616's future from becoming the divergent one).
Troll is listed by some sites as appearing in Thunderbolts#163.1, and she does appear, but it is a symbolic image of a large number of Thunderbolts, rather an in-continuity appearance.
Similarly, in Superior Foes of
Spider-Man#4, Boomerang flashes back to his days with the Thunderbolts,
but it seems more symbolic than any point in the Thunderbolts'
history-->
