History:
(
2099 Unlimited#9/4) - Coming upon a dump in the "Midtown" region, Eyeball launched a missile that blew a hole in the ground.

Approaching the site where the missile struck, Frog saw a big hole and told Eyeball that he had blown a hole straight through to Pittsburgh (see comments).

As Frog got closer, he realized they had opened up the roof of some sort of storeroom. Eyeball helped Frog down into the room and then followed. eyeball-928-2099ad-comics

There were shelves with many boxes of Silver Age and older comics, but the two men could barely read and had no idea what they were looking at.

They decided that they could salvage the containers (comic bags) and swap them for porphyrin.

They dumped out all of the boxes and pulled the books out their bags, resolving to burn the useless paper inside.

Frog asked to keep a few books just to scan the optics.

After Frog burned the rest of the books and Eyeball gathered the bags, Eyeball appreciated that he enjoyed having the clean open space of the warehouse, while Frog was engrossed in the few books he had saved.

Comments: Created by Rick Parker

Eyeball had the circle pattern on his jacket, while Frog's jacket had the triangle pattern.

I don't know for sure what Midtown is meant to be in reference to...Midtown Comics? That was located in Manhattan, New York, but the city was still populated circa 2099 as Nueva York.

Additonally, I don't know if the reference to Pittsburgh was meant to be literal, or just a sarcastic reference to Pittsburgh being a dump or a hole in the ground, or something...
