History: (X-Force I#119 (fb) - BTS) - Succubus was presumably, secretly, recruited by X-Force team manager Coach, not for X-Force, but for his own rather unrevealed purposes.

(X-Force I#119) - When X-Force team leader Orphan refused to turn over young mutant Paco Perez to X-Force's financiers, Coach summoned Smoke and Succubus to attack the Orphan for his insubordination. A battle quickly erupted between the Orphan and his X-Force teammates, and Smoke and Succubus, until the Coach called the fight off when the Orphan feigned compliance.

(X-Force I#120) - The Coach sent Smoke and Succubus after the Orphan again when the Orphan arrived to stop the Coach from physically taking advantage of drugged X-Force teleporter U-Go Girl. During the battle, Succubus slashed open the Orphan's costume, allowing Coach to slice the over-sensitive Orphan with a knife, before the X-Man Wolverine arrived to save the Orphan. Coach immediately ordered Succubus and Smoke to deal with Wolverine but Wolverine killed Smoke by slicing him in half and the Orphan disabled Succubus with a nerve pinch to the neck. The unconscious Succubus then laid there while the Orphan checked on U-Go Girl, who had accidentally killed Coach when the two wrestled over a loaded gun.

Succubus had a profile in Marvel Encyclopedia HC Vol. 2: X-Men (2003).

A succubus, according to Webster's is "a demon assuming female form to have sexual intercourse with men in their sleep." In the MU, and in most fantasy-type stories it carries the connotation of a woman who steals mens' souls. This is in contrast to an incubus, which carries the denotation of being a male demon that takes human form to have "relations" with women in their sleep (it also refers to one that only lays on top of women in their sleep, or that oppresses or burdens like a nightmare), and the connotation of a man who steals womens' souls.

Profile by Proto-Man.
