History:

(Spider-Verse III#2/3 (fb) - BTS) - In 1700s Spain, the man known as Sea-Spider sailed the seven seas in his brigantine ship, the Aracne, while secretly posing as a nobleman on land.

(Spider-Verse III#2/3) - During his travels, Sea-Spider used his grappling pistols to traverse from the Aracne onto other ships and easily escape.

(Spider-Verse III#6 (fb) - BTS) - Sea-Spider was recruited alongside several other Multiversal Spider-totems to assist in locating Earth-18119's Spiderling, patternmaker of the Great Web of Life and Destiny.

(Spider-Verse III#6) - After Earth-19166's Spider-Zero learned that Spiderling was trapped inside a tangle in the Great Web, Sea-Spider and the other assembled Spider-totems converged on the tangle and attempted to unravel it. When the Great Web responded by opening portals to Earth-51778 and unleashing a swarm of Machine Bem Monsters, Sea-Spider jumped into battle against the monsters. During the fight, Sea-Spider yelled "Have at you!" at the monsters, prompting Earth-1411319's Spider-Monster to admit he liked Sea-Spider's moxie. Sea-Spider continued to help hold the monsters at bay until Spider-Zero and Earth-1610's Spider-Man (Miles Morales) freed Spiderling. Spiderling then began repairing the Great Web, banishing the Machine Bem Monsters and sending Sea-Spider and the other Spider-totems back to their home realities.

Comments: Created by James Gifford.

Sea-Spider is one of several Spidersona's who appeared in the back-pages of Spider-Verse (2020). "Spidersona" was a hashtag that launched around the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Amazed at the talent of creativity of people posting their creations online, Marvel reached out to some of these artists to create new Spidersona art especially for the Spider-Verse (2020) series. Every issue showcased several original pieces of Spidersona art by artists from around the globe after which most appeared in the story as well.

The origin of Sea-Spider's powers was never revealed so one can also presume he was mutated somehow like many other Spider-totems.

His eye color was impossible to determine, as he was only ever seen with a mask on.
