Powers/Abilities: The Supreme Soviet was large and strong, presumably at least enhanced human (lifting a maximum of between 800 lbs. up to 4000 lbs.)

    He wore an armored suit, the boot jets of which allowed him to fly, hover, and move swiftly to avoid assaults.

    He apparently fired energy blasts from his bare hands (or, at least, his left hand; or perhaps it was from his gauntlets, but his hands were unharmed by the energies apparently engulfing them), and he could punch with superhuman strength, striking with his bare hands.

    His arms and legs were only partially covered by the armor, and he was not visibly harmed after crashing into a metal-framed building.

History:

(Exiles I#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Supreme Soviet's origins are unrevealed. He ultimately sought to restore his native Russia to its former status (which had been diminished following the breakup of the USSR).

    As an armored mercenary apparently possessing superhuman powers, the Supreme Soviet was employed by the Los Angeles-based Malcolm Kort, who sought to control Theta Virus-infected individuals, who developed superhuman powers, for his own benefit. Kort sent the Supreme Soviet and his other agents, including Bloodbath, Bruut and Hot Rox, to capture these infected individuals. They were opposed by the Exiles team directed by Dr. Rachel Deming, who also sought to capture those developing the Theta virus, cure them, train them in their abilities, and recruit them to help her effort. The Supreme Soviet considered the Exiles to be amateurs in these early encounters.

(Exiles I#1) - Backed by a pair Kort's robotic Cybernoids, the Supreme Soviet was sent to Parkmoore High School to capture the newest person affected with the Theta Virus, Amber Hunt. As he blasted a hole through the wall of her classroom, he was confronted by Exiles members Deadeye, Tinsel and Trax. The Soviet insisted that Hunt was his, but Tinsel advised him that she was under the Exiles' protection. As he fired his own blast, Fyodor ordered the Cybernoids to blast the Exiles into atoms. Although Trax hoped to get Amber out of there, the Soviet reached her first. Amber cursed him as a "Russian butt-head," and warned him that her daddy was a lawyer, but Fyodor told her that he was a tool of international capitalism and then instructed the "American wench" to be silent and show respect to her superiors. Hoping to tackle the Soviet before he got airborne, Trax leapt at him, but Fyodor brutally punched him back, noting the American to be weak, like all of his breed. He further announced that when he had restored his country to its former greatness, "you all will pay for your decadence."

   The Supreme Soviet subsequently met with Malcolm Kort at his office at Visionary Productions, reporting his failure to capture Amber. When Kort noted his assumption that she had been terminated, Fyodor explained that she was instead abducted by the Exiles and that their forces had been overmatched. When the surprised Kort questioned, "By Deming's brats?" the Soviet explained that they were no longer the amateurs from previous encounters, that their mastery of their powers had grown and that they had learned to fight as a team, while the Cybernoids had been unable to adapt with sufficient speed. 

     Kort questioned that it was everyone's fault but his, and Fyodor advised him to next time give him troops and not robots and he would hand him the Exiles' brain matter. When he asked for his check,  Kort told him that he did not ordinarily pay for failure but that Fyodor had caught him in a generous mood, and his reward would be commensurate with his effort. As Kort quoted Karl Marx to Fyodor's bewilderment -- "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" -- Hot Rox grabbed the Soviet.  Added that Fyodor's ability disappointed and that he needed to get rid of him, Kort had Hot Rox place him in the m-RNA tank.

     Ignoring Fyodor's question, "Is this how you reward loyalty?" Hot Rox put him in the tank, where Kort had his assistant Deters put him through the genetic management procedure, intended to treat those with the Theta Virus. However, as the Soviet did not have the Theta Virus, they did not know the result.

    His genetic structure altered, the Supreme Soviet's heart rate accelerated, and his muscle mass increased dramatically. Bursting out of the tank, the Soviet shouted that Kort was a dead man, as he was going to take his head in the palm of his (now giant) hand and crush it like a...however, instead, Fyodor dropped to the ground as he rapidly decomposed and was left only a giant skeleton in the remains of his armor.

    Amused, Kort told Deeters to save the Supreme Soviet's arm as a memento, after which he added that one he had finished his analysis, Deeters should call custodial and have them clean up the rest.
