First Appearance: Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#1 (April, 2016)

Powers/Abilities: In addition to the abilities detailed below, standard to all Recorders, this Recorder apparently had its essence scattered across all space and time and had knowledge of the past, present and future across the space. It apparently enjoyed chaos, misery, tragedy and ruin, and so used its knowledge to generate such states.

    (Per Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#9) - Recorders are humanoid-shaped androids constructed from some extraterrestrial ferrous alloy and designed for information-gathering and analysis. 

    Recorders' information-gathering instrumentation is located in their head components, and is analogous to eye and ear placement on humanoid beings. The eyes of the Recorder takes in data across the whole electromagnetic spectrum (radio to gamma rays), not simply the visual portion of the spectrum. Their auditory units are vastly superhuman; they can register sounds from .3 to 150 deciBel (see comments). Recorders also possesses pico-processors, the olfactory register of which covers almost 90 mega-cubits of data space. 

    The sampling rate for average events is every .01 seconds; for relatively more interesting events it is .001 seconds. 

    Recorders' computer fluid resolution data/pico-processing system fill the entire chest cavity and have massive data storage capacity (see comments).

    Recorder units are equipped with vocoders permitting them to communicate verbally, and are able to understand and speak over 11,000 languages spoken throughout the Milky Way Galaxy (covering at least 96,000 cultures) and others explored by the Rigellians.

History:
 (Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5 (fb)) - Like all Rigellian Recorders, this Recorder was programmed to explore the universe, collect data on what he saw, and report back to his masters. 

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Those parties hired Deadpool and the Mercs for Money to secure but not open the package containing the Recorder (the Mercs did not know what the package contained) at the Beyond Corporation Research Facility Jackalope.

    Other parties (possibly the Recorder itself), hired the Crazy Gang to slay whoever had hired the Mercs for Money and to take the package from them.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#4 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, the Recorder contacted Evil Deadpool and forged an alliance with him.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#1) - After they slaughtered the guards, they took the package on their new small airship to the rendezvous point, where they found that their employers had been killed, after which the Crazy Gang attacked. After some battle, the Mercs escaped, regrouped at their secret base and opened the box, discovering a disassembled Recorder android that spouted a number of predictions (I don't believe any of them recognized it as anything more than a robot initially). '

     As someone had paid them a lot to recover the package and then someone else had paid the Crazy Gang to kill them and take it, Deadpool resolved to sell the android for more profit.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#2 - BTS) - Various parties hired Crossfire, Lord Deathstrike, Puma & Taskmaster to retrieve/steal the package from the Mercs for Money.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#2) - Left in charge of supervising the Recorder, Stingray complained that its non-stop predictions were giving him a headache. He further noted that it was like randomly switching channels on the radio dial and that he had catalogued nearly fifty of its strange non sequitors. As he started to wonder whether they were glitches in the system or if he could actually predict the future, the Recorder stated that his phone would ring in three seconds, and it did. He subsequently informed Deapool that he believed the Recorder was predicting the future.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#2 - BTS) - Deadpool and Slapstick took down Crime Master and his agents Blood Spider (Mike Bingham), Death-Shield (Tim Karlskin) and Jagged Arrow (Joe Emberlin), who sought to force them to give up the Recorder. Meanwhile Foolkiller and Solo met with Caroline Le Fay (backed by Scorpia and Titania), who gave them tea laced with a truth serum to force them to tell her all about the robot, after which she revealed to them that it was a very special Rigellian Recorder and that she wished to purchase it to escalate her plans for global destruction. Meanwhile, Terror and Masacre met with Mephisto, who offered them their heart's desire for the Recorder.

    Ultimately, Deadpool resolved to instead auction off the Recorder.

    As Taskmaster monitored Deadpool, Evil Deadpool confronted him, noting that they could team up to and split the profits but that they should just kill each other.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#3) - The Mercs put on suits and catered to a crowd of criminals at the auction, including Baylee Ann, Armadillo, Baron Zemo, Brain Drain, Charlie Chainsaw, Crime Master, Death Adder, Dr. Bong, Dr. Rot, a Doombot, Hammerhead, Hobgoblin, Jack O’Lantern, Kingpin, Caroline Le Fey, Leader, Lord Deathstrike, Mephisto, Mole Man and the Moloids, Norman Osborn, Sandman, Scarecrow, members of the Secret Empire, Skrulls, Swarm, Tater Pud, Tiger Shark, Vulture, the Wrecking Crew (Bulldozer, Thunderball, Wrecker, Piledriver); and possibly the Grey Gargoyle, Razor Fist and others.

    The Recorder briefly had the tape removed from its mouth to demonstrate its predictions, which led to a bidding war. When a fight broke out among the criminals, the Mercs got the Recorder out of there, and when Lord Deathstrike attempted to steal the Recorder, Rocksalt blasted Deathstrike, after which agreed to sell it to the Ozarks Kingpin, soon loading the robot into the Highwayman’s truck, with the Mercs for Money providing security for the transport.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, the Recorder contacted/hired the Crazy Gang to aid Evil Deadpool against the Mercs for Money.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#4) - As Masacre watched over the Recorder in the Highwayman’s rig's cargo hold, the Mercs for Money fought off Big Wheel, the Hand, the Orb and Slayback. At a local truck stop, they were attacked by Taskmaster, the Zapata Brothers, and Bruiser. After Slapstick took out the Zapata Brothers and Deadpool dropped Taskmaster, the Highwayman smashed his rig into Bruiser, after which the Mercs departed in his truck, unaware that Evil Deadpool was in the back with the Recorder, having slipped in with the Recorder's guidance. Evil Deadpool asked what was the plan, and the Recorder told him that once they reached their destination, they would kill the mercs.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5) - After detailing his origins, the Recorder insisted to Evil Deadpool that they could only act at the pre-ordained time, which was drawing closer. He further informed Evil Deadpool that he had arranged for some assistance in the coming battle.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5 - BTS) - As the Mercs, with the Highwayman, prepared to deliver the Recorder to the Ozarks Kingpin, the Crazy Gang and Evil Deadpool attacked, and a fight broke out.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5) - Advised by Solo, Deadpool resolved to destroy the Recorder so no one could have it. As Deadpool approached, the Recorder predicted that Deadpool would destroy him and fulfill his destiny. When Deadpool asked the Recorder to confirm that he was behind at least some of this encounter, the Recorder told him, "Throughout countless timelines...misery...tragedy...ruin...these things were constant...these things brought me comfort." Tell the Recorder that he would therefore love this, Deadpool through a grenade into the container and got a safe distance away before the powerful explosion, which destroyed the truck.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5 (fb) - BTS) - Evil Deadpool escaped during the distraction of the explosion.

(Deadpool and the Mercs for Money I#5 - BTS) - Deadpool convinced the Ozarks Kingpin that the Recorder was nothing but trouble and had likely spread rumors of its existence to start an avalanche of gratuitious violence and bloodshed. Having only wanted to make certain that his enemies did not obtain the Recorder, the Ozarks Kingpin was satisfied to let the breach of contract drop.
