History:
(X-Cellent I#2 (fb) - BTS) - During a period in which the mortally wounded X-Force member Zeitgeist was convalescing following the murder of almost his entire team, X-Force cameraman Doop grew the twisted Pood to keep Zeitgeist company and Pood began to enjoy inflicting pain on others. Years later, when the recovered Zeitgeist formed the X-Cellent group, Pood remained by Zeitgeist's side within the X-Cellent's Zeit House headquarters in the Mojave Desert.

(X-Cellent I#2 (fb)) - After Zeitgeist returned from a mission with the X-Cellent, Zeitgeist ordered Pood to keep the dying Joe Bomb alive long enough for his teammate Uno to upload a slow video of Joe Bomb's death "scene" before leaving the room to go watch television.

(X-Cellent I#4) - Following Zeitgeist's theft of several pages of spells from Doctor Strange's Book of the Vishanti, he showed the pages to Pood and asked if Pood would be able to decipher the spells. When Pood remarked that it would take time and that certain conditions had to be met first, Zeitgeist replied that he was aware of that and that his online followers should skyrocket after the X-Cellent's mission to a baseball game.

(X-Cellent I#5 (fb) - BTS) - Using a single photograph of the Book of the Vishanti, Pood created an exact replica of the Book to place the spells Zeitgeist had stolen in.

(X-Cellent I#5) - When the teleporting Toodle Pip appeared and attempted to stop Zeitgeist from attacking X-Cellent member Mirror Girl in anger, Zeitgeist telepathically stopped Toodle Pip from using her powers and had her brought to a room and hooked up to a device of Pood's design that prevented Toodle Pip from using her powers. Revealing to Toodle Pip that Pood enjoyed inflicting pain, Zeitgeist had Pood show Toodle Pip his copy of the Book of the Vishanti and explained the Rule of Apotheosis spell that would make him a god upon achieving 500 million followers.

(X-Cellent II#1 (fb) - BTS) - In an effort to allow the X-Cellent's Uno, a mutant resembling a large floating eyeball, to experience parts of life that he otherwise could not, Pood periodically injected Uno with a nutrient that mimicked the sensations of sex and fine wine.

(X-Cellent II#4) - Following an angry confrontation with an engineer operating the Matter Machine that was reassembling the molecules of the former X-Statix member Venus Dee Milo, Zeitgeist asked Pood to remind him that the engineer needed to be thoroughly taken care of once Venus was fully reassembled. When Zeitgeist mentioned another, more pressing problem that needed addressing, Pood asked about Zeitgeist's hemorrhoids but Zeitgeist assured Pood that his last treatment worked like a dream. Zeitgeist then revealed that the problem was with the recently-recruited X-Cellent member Dox the Digital Man, whom Zeitgeist had ordered to erase anything bad about him off the internet. Admitting that he did not trust Dox but needed him to find dirt on the rival X-Statix group, Zeitgeist grinned when Pood made a suggestion, noting that Pood's suggestion was a simple yet brilliant way to finally be rid of X-Statix. Pood and Zeitgeist later gathered the rest of the X-Cellent together and they attempted to make up damaging falsehoods about X-Statix that could be spread online. As they all brainstormed, Pood documented their suggestions and Zeitgeist eventually sought to summon Dox and Mirror Girl, only to realize they were plotting against him. After attacking and irreparably damaging Dox, Zeitgeist gloated about how Pood had come up with the idea of creating his own damaging falsehoods about X-Statix rather than utilizing Dox to find it online.

(X-Cellent II#5) - After Zeitgeist was transformed into a godlike form by the Rule of Apotheosis spell, Pood and the rest of the X-Cellent bowed down and prayed to him. Later, Zeitgeist monologued to Pood, questioning whether the X-Cellent truly deserved him, and when Pood suggested Zeitgeist could simply kill them, Zeitgeist admitted that Pood made a good point. Zeitgeist then suggested that perhaps he could simply take over X-Statix but Pood noted that X-Statix would never willingly join Zeitgeist. Pood was later present when X-Statix stormed the Zeit House, mostly avoiding the battle. When a mostly-reconstituted Venus Dee Milo teleported Zeitgeist away, Pood, Uno and Stripe lost their will to continue the fight and Pood accompanied X-Statix back to their headquarters in Bel Air.

Comments: Created by Peter Milligan and Michael "Doc" Allred.

While Pood's eyes were always seen as red, they initially appeared with red sclera and two white irises within each eye but in X-Cellent II#5, his eyes appeared reversed with white sclera and red irises. Perhaps his eyes appeared with red sclera and dual white irises whenever he was under the mental influence of Zeitgeist?
