Powers/Abilities: The ancient robot was composed of unrevealed metals and other substances. As long as it was connected through wires to the planet's systems it was powered by an energy source that enabled it to fire energy blasts from its hands. Connected to the planet's network it had full control over defense systems, including a planetary shield that prevented teleportation onto the planet and the ability to detect everything entering the planet's orbit.
The Oracle stored a treasure trove of data from the ancient past. This data was protected and kept in a digital mindscape that was protected by several programs anyone invading the Oracle's mind had to pass.
Due to its creators' programming it became delusional and believed itself to be a deity.
Height: Unrevealed (5'9"; by approximation)
Weight: Unrevealed (we don't know the materials the robot was
made off)
Eyes: Pink
Hair: None
History:
(Secret Defenders#12 (fb) - BTS) - The Oracle was one of the oldest
creatures in the universe, a survivor of a long-vanished civilization.
It was a repository of vast knowledge and information dating back to the
early history of the universe.
(Secret Defenders#13 (fb) - BTS) - It was created by a long-dead and forgotten civilization, which used it to store immense data. The Oracle eventually believed itself to be a god.
(Cosmic Powers#1 (fb) - BTS) - Over the millennia it recorded events of great scope including cataclysms and glorious deeds. Over time many tried to invade the Oracle's mind, but its defenses kept its knowledge save for millennia.
(Secret Defenders#12 (fb) - BTS) - A society of monks formed around the Oracle on the planet H'aarg and they worshiped it as a god.
(Secret Defenders#12 - BTS) - Thanos put together a team to kidnap the Oracle. He claimed that they would actually do the universe a service because the Oracle fancied himself a messiah and prepared its followers for Holy War, which didn't interest his team at all. Instead Thanos offered Rhino and Nitro the riches of the monks, Titanium Man the scientific knowledge the monks possessed and Super-Skrull a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of the Skrull Empire by preventing a holy war.
With Geatar as their team leader the "Secret Defenders" landed on H'aag in baffler-equipped ship that remained undetected and invaded the temple of the Oracle where they were attacked by a horde of monks.
(Secret Defenders#13 - BTS) - The "Secret Defenders" escaped the monks and fought their way through the Guardian of the Oracle in the audience room.
(Secret Defenders#13) - The "Secret Defenders" found the Oracle standing motionless in its private quarters. Geatar ordered it to come with them, but the Oracle didn't react at first. They were surprised when the Oracle revealed itself to be a robot. Nitro angrily attacked the robot, but was knocked out. Rhino tackled the robot and disconnected the wires connecting the Oracle to the planet-wide systems, inadvertently shutting off the shields that prevented others from teleporting onto the planet and other defense systems. Thanos teleported in and took the Oracle. The "Secret Defenders" demanded an explanation and Thanos revealed that the holy war and all the things he offered to them was a lie and that their ship had already self-destructed. He teleported out with the Oracle, leaving his pawns behind.
(Secret Defenders#13 - BTS) - The "Secret Defenders" were confronted by the Monks of the Oracle for the disappearance of the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge.
(Secret Defenders#14 - BTS) - The team got off the planet H'aarg after fighting their way through the Monks of the Oracle and taking their destroyed ship's escape pod.

(Cosmic Powers#1 (fb) - BTS) - Thanos had the Oracle prepared in an underground bunker on his nameless planet to invade the Oracle's mind. (Cosmic Powers#1) - The Oracle demanded to be released by Thanos, but the Mad Titan craved the robot's knowledge, which the Oracle was not willing to give to him. Thanos put on a "virtual reality" helmet that was connected the Oracle and entered the Oracle's mindscape. Inside the Oracle's mind Thanos seemingly traveled to a stronghold surrounded by a massive wall that he climbed. On the other side of the wall the Champion of the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge stood in Thanos' way, but he defeated the digital being in a sword fight and then tossed its body through a door to the Oracle's innermost mind, which presented itself as a treasure house with a manifestation of the Oracle sitting on a throne in the center. The Oracle told Thanos that he was not worthy of this knowledge and once again told him that it would not give it to him. Thanos grabbed the manifestation of the Oracle by the throat, choked it to death and then just claimed the treasure trove for himself. Thanos took off the helmet and mocked the Oracle that even its knowledge was incomplete because he was unable to cope with Thanos' experience. All the data inside the Oracle was downloaded to Thanos' mainframe and he ordered his drones to scan for any pertinent information and have it ready for him while the burnt out husk of the Oracle lay on the table. (Cosmic Powers#1 - BTS) - The Oracle's data was examined and Thanos' drones found information on a being known as Tyrant, whom Thanos believed to be a worthy challenge for him. |

At the end of the day the Oracle was merely a MacGuffin that led Thanos to a confrontation with Galactus' creation Tyrant.

|
(Cosmic Powers#1) - The Champion was the digital manifestation of a program created by the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge inside its mind to stop others from reaching the center of its mind. The Champion attacked Thanos with a gigantic katana, but Thanos drew his own sword, which was broken during the fight. Thanos swiped the Champion's leg, hit the digital being in the face and stabbed the Champion with the broken sword. Thanos then tossed the Champion's corpse through a door to gain entrance to the Oracle's treasure house. --Cosmic Powers#1 |
|
(Secret Defenders#13 (fb) - BTS) - The Guardian was a giant robot protecting the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge for a very long time. Nobody ever made it through the Guardian. (Secret Defenders#13) - The Guardian grabbed Nitro and tossed him against a wall before the other members of his team attacked with all their might. The Guardian was defeated after Super-Skrull wrapped himself around the robot, Rhino tackled the robot's legs and Titanium Man hit the robot with an energy blast from behind. --Secret Defenders#13 |

(Secret Defenders#12) - The Monastery of the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge was located on the planet H'aarg where it housed the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge and the Monks following the Oracle. One day Rhino crashed through a wall and invaded the temple with fellow Thanos pawns Geatar, Nitro, Super-Skrull and Titanium Man. (Secret Defenders#13) - The "Secret Defenders" got cornered inside the monastery by the Monks and literally had their backs to the wall. Rhino ran through the wall to give his team an escape round to a corridor that led them to the Oracle's audience room. They fought the Guardian of the Oracle inside this room and then made it to the Oracle's private chambers where they severed the Oracle from the planet's defense systems that also prevented outsiders from teleporting in. Thanos took the opportunity to teleport in and steal the Oracle, leaving behind his pawns to fend for themselves. (Secret Defenders#14) - The "Secret Defenders" escaped the monastery with the Monks close behind them. --Secret Defenders#12 (Secret Defenders#12-14 |

(Secret Defenders#12) - They were the loyal followers of the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge. Heavily armed and protected by shields that prevented others from entering the planet by any means, the Monks were rather surprised when the "Secret Defenders" broke through their monastery's walls shortly after an audience with the oracle. Brother Kamrik was crushed by the wall, but another monk gave the alarm and the "Secret Defenders" were quickly surrounded and attacked by the Monks. (Secret Defenders#13) - The Monks outnumbered the more powerful "Secret Defenders" and while several of the Monks died during the fight, they eventually had the "Secret Defenders" literally with the backs to the wall. Rhino smashed through the wall to give his team an escape, which led them right through the corridor that led to the Oracle's audience room. The Monks were locked out when Rhino and Titanium Man shut the door in front of them and Super-Skrull used an invisible brace to hold it. After Thanos stole the Oracle and left the "Secret Defenders" behind to fend for themselves they had to open the barricaded door and were faced by the Monks again, who blamed them for the Oracle's disappearance. (Secret Defenders#14) - The "Secret Defenders" fought their way through the Monks to escape the monastery, but the Monks followed them into the desert to the wreckage of the intruders' ship. They were held back by Super-Skrull's invisible barrier, but one of the Monks circled around and shot the Super-Skrull to take down the shield. Rhino and Geatar kept holding the Monks at bay until Titanium Man had the ship's escape pod fixed. The "Secret Defenders" made it inside the escape pod and Titanium Man flew it off the planet with the Monks screaming for their death behind them. --Secret Defenders#12 (Secret Defenders#12-14 |
