Powers/Abilities: Dogpool has a regenerative
healing factor, sufficient enough to completely recover from near-fatal
wounds within seconds. He also seems to possess two separate canine
personalities within his mind, occasionally communicating with the
other personality within the confines of his mind.
Dogpool has been known to possess near-human intellect and behavior at times.
He is extremely acrobatic, having honed skills while living with a circus, able to perform acrobatic maneuvers such as using his paws to briefly grasp objects such as knives long enough to throw them. He has also been known to wield weapons such as knives or cooking pots with his teeth. Dogpool also possesses surprising fighting skills for a dog, performing complex twists and turns and headbutting enemies.
As a dog, Dogpool has sharp teeth and claws.
Dogpool once carried a ring
capable of summoning a cosmic Elder of the Universe to his aid. While
in a cartoon-like reality, Dogpool once pulled an entire ship's anchor
from his costume.
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 2'0" in length)
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 65 lbs.)
Eyes: (pre-mutation) brown; (post-mutation) blue
Hair: Brown
History:
(Prelude to Deadpool Corps#3 (fb) - BTS) - Wilson was a dog with a
reputation for barking at all hours of the night and chewing shoes. He
was eventually acquired by Babelline Cosmetics' Mascara-X Project,
which sought to create a process for regenerative mascara.
(Prelude to Deadpool Corps#3) - After being hooked to a number of wires
and various monitoring devices, Wilson was lowered into a chemical vat
and bombarded with electricity. Mascara-X's Dr. Von Braun then had his
assistant Eigor retrieve Wilson from the vat to observe the makeup
testing's effects. Upon looking at the fried and unmoving Wilson, Von
Braun ordered Eigor to toss Wilson into a dumpster with the other
failed test subjects and Wilson was soon put into a garbage bag and
tossed into a dumpster as ordered. Undergoing a mutation due to the
makeup test's effects while in the dumpster, Wilson clawed his way out
of the garbage bag and emerged from the dumpster as Deadpool: Merc with
a Bark. Wandering, the lonely Deadpool attempted to come to terms with
his newfound mutation. He attempted to beg for food from a young girl
named Sally but Sally's mother suggested Sally not feed the dog,
concerned for what diseases he might have. After being chased away by a
mob who found him ugly, Deadpool began having dark thoughts and decided
to commit suicide. Darting in front of a car, Deadpool was hit by a man
named Marvin and was found lying in the road by a traveling circus that
had witnessed the hit. Healing from his injuries within minutes,
Deadpool jumped back to life, surprising the circus members, who
welcomed him into their fold. Deadpool soon became the circus' star
attraction due to his indestructible nature and his popularity drew the
attention of Dr. Von Braun and Eigor.

Following a night of circus shows,
Deadpool was confronted by Dr. Von Braun and Eigor and, recognizing
them from the Mascara-X Project, Deadpool attacked and forced them to
flee. After recreating the experiment that created Deadpool, Dr.
Von Braun added Adamantium to his next subject and sent the new test
subject, Wolverine, after Deadpool during one of his circus
performances. The two dogs fought furiously until Deadpool tricked
Wolverine into the circus cannon then signaled one of the circus clowns
to fire Wolverine into a vat of acid. As Dr. Von Braun mourned the loss
of Wolverine, Earth-616's Deadpool appeared from a dimensional portal
and recruited the dog Deadpool to help save other worlds.
(Prelude to Deadpool Corps#4) - Earth-103173's
Deadpool (now called Dogpool) was peeing on a house plant in
Deadpool-616's apartment when Deadpool-616 emerged from a dimensional
portal with the newest member of the so-called Deadpool Corps:
Earth-2149's zombie Headpool.
(Prelude to Deadpool Corps#5 (fb)) - Dogpool was sleeping on the
floor of Deadpool-616's apartment as the other Deadpool Corps members
discussed why they were all called together and why they still had to
prove themselves worthy to save the Multiverse. As Deadpool-616
explained to the others how the Elder of the Universe Contemplator had
become stuck in a "Capture the Flag" wager with his fellow Elder, the
Grandmaster, as to whose champions would save the Multiverse, the
Contemplator's high priest Kort summoned Dogpool and the other Deadpool
Corps members to his location, where Headpool was gathering the group's
supplies. Dogpool immediately growled at Kort but when Kort willing
served Deadpool-616, Dogpool relaxed and when all of the Deadpool Corps
answered to the name "Deadpool," Deadpool-616 decided to give everyone
in the group a nickname, going with "Cujo" for Dogpool.
(Prelude to Deadpool Corps#5) - Traveling into space with
the
Deadpool Corps to battle the Grandmaster's champions, the Mad Folk,
Dogpool was placed in a rock-like shuttle and fired towards a nearby
planet while Deadpool-616 and Lady Deadpool-3010 battled the Mad Folk
aboard their ship. Dogpool soon landed on the planet and rolled around
in the dirt until the surviving Mad Folk arrived on the planet in an
escape shuttle following their
ship colliding with another utilizing by the
robots
of Centauri-9.
When they emerged from their ship, Dogpool greeted them with an angry
growl, the flag prize in his mouth. After regrouping with the Deadpool
Corps, Dogpool and the other alternate Deadpools were congratulated by
the Contemplator for winning the right to save the Multiverse and
suggested it was time for the group to prepare themselves for their
greatest adventure.
(Deadpool Corps I#1) - Dogpool rolled on the ground as the
Contemplator revealed the enemy the Deadpool Corps would have to
defeat: the mind-devouring Awareness. Once the Contemplator had
finished, Dogpool accompanied the rest of the Deadpool Corps back into
space to accomplish their mission. After the Champion of the Universe
challenged the Deadpool Corps to prove themselves to him and was
stranded on a planet while distracted, Deadpool-616 went to check on
Dogpool, who was laying on the floor of their ship. Dogpool later
accompanied the Deadpool Corps onto a trader planet to refuel their
ship and while in an alien bar, they were attacked by the Champion and
his fellow Elder of the Universe, the Gardener. Deadpool-616 ordered
Lady Deadpool to return to their ship with the supplies while he and
Dogpool handled the Elders.
(Deadpool Corps I#2) - Deadpool and Dogpool prepared to battle the
Champion and the Gardener but, upon hearing the Gardener's name, both
Deadpool and Dogpool rolled over in a fit of laughter. Regaining his
composure, Deadpool ordered Dogpool to kill the Champion and Dogpool
leaped and sunk his teeth into the Champion. Unfazed by the attack in
the slightest, the Champion, with Dogpool still clinging to his skin by
his teeth, wondered if perhaps he were stuck in some sort of strange
dream. Deadpool eventually pulled Dogpool off of the Champion and
tricked the Champion into "leading" the Deadpool Corps on their
mission, inadvertently leaving Dogpool behind as the Deadpool Corps
departed the planet in their ship, newly dubbed the Bea Arthur. While
the Deadpool Corps were busy stranding the Champion on another alien
planet, Dogpool enjoyed being pampered by alien beauties and
eventually, Deadpool realized he had left Dogpool behind.
(Deadpool Corps I#3) - Dogpool eventually hitched a ride
with an
alien trucker and began traveling back to his teammates, unaware they
were being confronted by the votives of the Awareness. He was soon left
stranded on an asteroid and was picked up by the alien Keena and her
friends on their Spring Break vacation. When Keena's friend Shwirzel
began complaining about Dogpool, Keena asked Dogpool to forgive
Shwirzel since Shwirzel had never been with a boy, prompting a growling
chuckle from Dogpool. As Dogpool's trek continued, he found himself
hitching a ride with the alien Snix, who remarked that Dogpool wasn't
the first person to ask for a ride out to the Pyramid space station.
When Dogpool got into Snix's vehicle, he found himself sharing a ride
with the grumbling Champion of the Universe. The two then rode over to
the Pyramid with Snix then parted ways, soon regrouping with Headpool,
the only Deadpool Corps member to escape capture by the votives of the
Awareness aboard the Pyramid. Tasked with rescuing the captive Deadpool
Corps members, Dogpool made his way to their cell and savagely attacked
the votives of the Awareness. Severely injured, Dogpool flopped his way
over to the cell and pushed the button to open the doors with his
snout. Proclaiming Dogpool to be a good boy, Deadpool asked him what
the plan was and when Dogpool barked out the plan, Deadpool stood
silent for a moment before admitting that he thought he would've been
able to understand Dogpool. Having sufficiently healed from his wounds,
Dogpool then accompanied the Deadpool Corps towards their ship,
slashing their way through more votives in the process. The group then
escaped in their ship, destroying the Pyramid as they left.
(Deadpool Corps I#4) - Dogpool accompanied Headpool to pick
up
Deadpool, Kidpool and Lady Deadpool as they prepared to confront the
alien gangster Eyeball. Kidpool then embraced Dogpool and Headpool
sarcastically welcomed Kidpool back to the "B-team" as Lady Deadpool
and Deadpool ventured further to meet with the Eyeball. After the
Eyeball suggested they visit smuggler Broken Blade, Dogpool accompanied
the Deadpool Corps to Caligula Station, where he watched Deadpool
battle then woo the Broken Blade alongside Headpool. Ultimately,
Deadpool managed to convince the Broken Blade to lend them her ship,
which was equipped with tech capable of cloaking them from the
Awareness, and Dogpool and the rest of the Deadpool Corps served as her
crew.
(Deadpool Corps I#5) - The Deadpool Corps located and confronted the
Awareness, who accessed their minds, briefly incapacitating them all
with their own fantasies, Dogpool dreaming of a collie. The Corps
quickly broke free of their own fantasies but the Awareness mentally
projected them into a combined world of their own thoughts. As the
Deadpool Corps rushed to battle the Awareness, Dogpool fell into a trap
room where he was attacked by a giant bone and meat. While Dogpool and
his teammates were trapped in rooms representing their worst fears,
Headpool located the Awareness, in reality a small alien who
subsequently a gigantic Protector-Bot against the Deadpool Corps. Lady
Deadpool ultimately killed the Awareness, ending the threat that had
brought the Deadpool Corps together. The Contemplator then appeared and
congratulated the Deadpool Corps, presenting them each with a
single-use ring that would summon an Elder of the Universe to their aid.
(Deadpool IV#1000/4 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Dogpool
and the
Deadpool Corps visited Earth-20110.
(Deadpool IV#1000/4 (fb)) - After Earth-20110's former Avenger
Deadpool joined the Deadpool Corps, Dogpool accompanied the group to
Earth-20110 for the Avengers Day celebration of life. While there, the
beret-wearing and mime-like Corps du Chapeau attacked with the
transformed corpses of the Avengers. The controlled Thor savagely
attacked Kidpool and Dogpool and when Deadpool-20110 fell under Corps
du Chapeau control, Dogpool and the Deadpool Corps attacked the
newly-dubbed Mimepool, ultimately firing him at the Corps du Chapeau's
home planet on a rocket.
(Deadpool Corps I#6) - When the Bea Arthur became stranded
in space,
Dogpool slept as Headpool and Kidpool sent out a distress message
across various hailing frequencies. The distress call was soon picked
up by the Quantum Shark ship and Dogpool accompanied Deadpool and
Kidpool as they boarded the ship. The pirate Orblog quickly took the
trio captive and they were all led in the ship's gladiatorial Death
Cage, where they fight for the right to join the crew of the Quantum
Shark. Before each of them went into the Cage, Deadpool suggested they
purposely lose and Dogpool was the first to go down by taking a sword
through his midsection. Dogpool was then throw onto a pile of corpses
and both Kidpool and Deadpool followed suit. Their healing factors all
kicked in shortly after and they awoke free of the Death Cage and
determined to find Lady Deadpool, who had went undercover in the
Quantum Shark herself. Deadpool instead ordered Kidpool to take Dogpool
back to the ship while he continued the search for Lady Deadpool.
(Deadpool Corps I#7 (fb)) - Following the defeat of the captain of
the Quantum Shark, a partially amnesiac Champion of the Universe, the
Deadpool Corps were paid to take out the rebels on the planet Kagan 7
by the Omega Confederation. Dogpool subsequently accompanied the
Deadpool Corps to Kagan 7 and after the Deadpool Corps defeated the
mercenaries there, Dogpool joined them in meeting with the planet's
King Coldassian, whom Deadpool convinced to spare their lives in
exchanging for replacing the previous mercenaries. Deadpool
subsequently defeated the mercenaries when they fought against the
termination of their employment and Dogpool was later seen sleeping on
the ground during a celebration of Deadpool's actions.
(Deadpool Corps I#8 (fb)) - After the celebration had ended, Dogpool laid passed out from the celebration as a groggy Deadpool and Lady Deadpool awoke. When Omega Confederation ships approached the planet, Deadpool and Headpool split off from the rest of the Deadpool Corps while Dogpool and the others helped keep the planet secure. A group of Confederation mercenaries soon approached Dogpool and Lady Deadpool and revealed that they were sent by the Confederation to ensure the Deadpool Corps were on the Confederation's job of quelling the revolution on Kagan 7. Dogpool subsequently accompanied Lady Deadpool and Kidpool as they walked away dramatically following the slaughter of the mercenaries. As Deadpool began trying to improve Kagan 7's image to the rest of the universe, an inexplicable Sphere of Togetherness was erected on the planet and Dogpool and the rest of the Deadpool Corps, as well as Kagan 7's King Coldassian and Princess Teela, viewed the Sphere.
(Deadpool Corps I#9 (fb)) - Dogpool was sleeping by a campfire as Lady Deadpool met with King Coldassian to discuss his outrage with Deadpool.
(Deadpool Corps I#10 (fb)) - While the Deadpool Corps prepared for Omega Confederation frigates to arrive near Kagan 7, Kidpool played with Dogpool using a stick. When the Omega Confederation later sent troops into the Kagan 7 capital city, Dogpool and the rest of the Deadpool Corps went into battle against them alongside King Coldassian.
(Deadpool Corps I#11 (fb)) - As the battle continued, Dogpool accompanied King Coldassian and Kidpool and the trio found Lady Deadpool battling Princess Teela. Dogpool was still present when King Coldassian suggested an official duel between Lady Deadpool and Princess Teela for rulership of Kagan 7, with Lady Deadpool acting as his champion. Following Lady Deadpool's defeat of Princess Teela, Dogpool, Lady Deadpool and Kidpool were met by Headpool, who needed their help assisting Deadpool against Omega Confederation agents Bang and Boom. Dogpool remained at Kidpool and Lady Deadpool's side as they arrived and killed Bang and Boom sniper-style. The regrouped Deadpool Corps then absconded back to the Bea Arthur and into space with Kagan 7's gold supply.
(Deadpool Corps I#12 (fb)) - Dogpool was present aboard the Bea
Arthur when the Broken Blade arrived and prepared to blow up the Bea
Arthur and everyone on board, angry over Deadpool's transgressions
against her with Princess Teela. Ultimately, Deadpool talked his way
out of being blown up and the Broken Blade departed, content to live
her life without Deadpool but also sparing the Deadpool Corps by giving
them instructions on how to remove the explosive device she had planted
on the ship. Dogpool then watched as a seemingly saddened Deadpool
mourned the loss of his relationship with the Broken Blade but cheered
up at the possibility of his life going smoothly afterwards.
(Deadpool Corps I#7) - After an Omega Confederation spaceship came
out of Translight
speed and smashed into the Bea Arthur, causing the ship to leak oxygen
and destroying their engines,
Dogpool passed out and Lady Deadpool followed suit as Deadpool suited
up to see if he could plug the breach somehow.
(Deadpool Corps I#11) - Following the capture of Deadpool and Headpool and Dogpool and the rest of the Deadpool Corps being placed in stasis, Dogpool, Lady Deadpool and Kidpool eventually awoke.
(Deadpool Corps I#12) - Dogpool accompanied Lady Deadpool and
Kidpool on their plan to rescue Deadpool and Headpool and make their
way back to the busted Bea Arthur. When some of the Omega Federation
agents (including an alien named Brad) stopped the trio in their
tracks, they attacked and Dogpool took down one of the aliens with a
savage bite. Kidpool then interrogated one of the agents to learn where
Deadpool and Headpool were being kept and, after Lady Deadpool killed
the agent, Dogpool found grenades on the deceased Confederation agent.
Using the grenades to blast their way into Deadpool and Headpool's
cell, Dogpool, Kidpool and Lady Deadpool rescued their teammates but
the Omega Confederation leader unleashed the monstrous Graag creatures
against the Corps. The Corps then slaughtered the Graag and made their
way back to the Bea Arthur, using one of the Elders of the
Universe-summoning rings to summon the Gardener to fix the ship and
escape, leaving an explosive device behind to destroy the Omega
Confederation ship. Dogpool was subsequently present aboard the Bea
Arthur when King Coldassian and Princess Teela sent a communication to
the Deadpool Corps informing them that the gold stolen by Deadpool was
nothing more than painted gold and that the King and Princess had
reunited to help rebuild Kagan 7. When Deadpool tried to use another of
the Elder-summoning rings to transform the lead into gold, the
Contemplator appeared and proclaimed that Dogpool and the rest of the
Deadpool Corps had abused the power given to them by the Elders of the
Universe. He then announced that he would be taking back the rings and
sending each of the Deadpool Corps back to their own reality to make
the best lives they could. The Contemplator opened dimensional portals
and Dogpool entered the portal back to Earth-103173 as his teammates
entered portals back to their own realities as well.
(Deadpool Family#1 (fb) - BTS) - Dogpool and Kidpool
somehow made
their way back to Earth-616. At some point, Kidpool claimed they had
encountered some mutant space fleas that left Dogpool riddled with flea
bites (see comments).
(Deadpool Family#1) - As Kidpool made up fighting stances
to impress
local bystanders, Dogpool remained at his side, scratching himself
wildly. When one of the bystanders commented on how much Dogpool was
scratching, Kidpool claimed they had encountered mutant space fleas and
Dogpool's healing factor had not yet healed all of the flea bites. The
bystanders' attentions were soon drawn away from Kidpool when one of
them brought a box full of toy robots and the dejected Kidpool soon
suggested to Dogpool the idea to acquire his own robot. Learning of the
location of a giant Captain America-themed robot mech called Jet
Falchion in storage from Kidpool's informant, Kidpool and Dogpool broke
into the storage facility and stole the mech. As Kidpool powered up the
mech and filmed himself, hoping for Youtube likes, Dogpool noticed his
tail and started trying to bite it. The two soon returned to the park
where Kidpool was showcasing his martial arts moves to impress the
locals with his new, giant robot mech. Dogpool subsequently chased his
tail as Gen. Conrad Davenport of the US Army confronted Kidpool and
ordered him to stand down. As Kidpool tried to assure Gen. Davenport
that he was no terrorist, just a joyriding kid, Dogpool bumped into the
back of Kidpool's seat, causing Kidpool to stumble into the mech's
controls and accidentally fire a missile. Thinking the missile was an
attack, Gen. Davenport ordered his men to take down the mech,
activating the mech's survival sequence and causing it to fire all
weapons at the attacking planes as Kidpool and Dogpool remained in the
cockpit, unable to control the mech. Fearing that the attack would be
blamed entirely on him, Kidpool jettisoned the mech's control module,
launching himself and Dogpool out of the mech, which powered down as
soon the control module was jettisoned. As the US Army began a frantic
search for whomever was piloting the Jet Falchion, Kidpool and Dogpool
nonchalantly walked down the street and Kidpool remarked to Dogpool
that he was through trying to impress other kids. Soon overhearing the
same group of bystanders from earlier talking about one of their pet
lizards and how lizards were cooler than robots, Kidpool suggested to
Dogpool their next stop should be the Savage Land if kids like lizards.
(Deadpool Family#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Dogpool and Kidpool
rejoined the
Deadpool Corps.
(Deadpool Family#1/2) - Dogpool, Deadpool and Kidpool waited outside a therapist's office as Lady Deadpool and Headpool visited the therapist to discuss their problematic relationship. When Lady Deadpool and Headpool emerged in better spirits, Dogpool was lounging atop a bystander's vehicle with Deadpool and Kidpool equally hanging around the car. Content with her therapy session, Lady Deadpool suggested they all go get smoothies and Dogpool accompanied the Corps as they walked off together.
(Deadpool Family#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Deadpool and Dogpool visited the cartoon-like Earth-46116, where Deadpool became involved with a situation involving someone from the U.N. that Deadpool thought was a cab driver.
(Deadpool Family#1/3) - Deadpool and Dogpool traveled to
Earth-46116's Avengers
Tower, where Deadpool apologized to the Avengers for mistaking a U.N.
agent for a cab driver and Dogpool urinated on one of the Avengers'
house plants, unaware that the Avenger Ant-Man was hiding from his
responsibility in the potted plant. The angry Ant-Man immediately
leaped from the plant to yell at Dogpool, who only saw Ant-Man as
potential food. Dogpool chased Ant-Man onto a kitchen countertop, at
which point Ant-Man was rescued by Sunny the Sentry Dog. Annoyed,
Dogpool grasped kitchen knives with his paws long enough to hurl them
at Sunny. The knives easily bounced off the superhumanly strong Sunny
and Dogpool's attempt to follow up with a metal cooking pan also met
with failure. Sunny then retaliated with a superhumanly strong smack
from his paw that sent Dogpool flying out of Avengers Tower towards
Europe. Sunny quickly flew to catch up to the still-flying Dogpool, who
held onto an anchor from seeming nowhere to direct his fall into
Switzerland. Crashing into the Cern Research Facility, where the Hadron
Collider was housed, Dogpool landed in the middle of an experiment
designed to recreate the conditions of the Big Bang. Trapping the
pursuing Sunny in the experiment, Dogpool adjusted the dial towards an
unknown outcome and activated the experiment, depowering Sunny but
freeing the malevolent Voidmutt from Sunny's body. Voidmutt thanked
Dogpool for releasing him from Sunny's body and promised to make
Dogpool's death slightly less excruciating.
(Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe#4) - As Earth-12101's
Deadpool
traveled through the Nexus of All Realities, he caught a quick glimpse
of Dogpool and Kidpool.
(Deadpool IV#1000/4) - Dogpool and the rest of the Deadpool Corps returned to Earth-20110 to celebrate the anniversary of the death of Mimepool.
(Deadpool Kills Deadpool#1) - Dogpool and the Deadpool
Corps arrived
on Earth-616, crashing the Bea Arthur into a giant robot utilized by
the terrorist ULTIMATUM group that Deadpool-616 was battling. Dogpool
immediately jumped into Deadpool's arms, happy to see him again, and
when Deadpool asked what was going on, Lady Deadpool explained that the
Deadpools across the Multiverse were being targeted. Dogpool then
accompanied the Deadpool Corps back into the Bea Arthur but before
Deadpool could join them, an agent of the Evil Deadpool Corps attacked
and killed the Deadpool Corps' newest recruit, a Golden Age Deadpool.
Dogpool prepared to fight the Evil Deadpool Corps agent but Deadpool
managed to slash the agent's glider in two. Before Deadpool could kill
the agent, however, the agent teleported behind Deadpool and ran a
chainsaw through Deadpool's torso. The Evil Deadpool Corps agent then
prepared to permanently kill Deadpool but Dogpool leaped to attack,
prompting the agent to instead blast Dogpool, killing the mutt. Kidpool
yelled out in anger and Lady Deadpool stopped Kidpool from running into
the fray, reminding Kidpool that he could not do anything to help
Dogpool now. Deadpool then accompanied the Deadpool Corps back into the
Bea Arthur, where he tried to console Kidpool.
(Deadpool Kills Deadpool#2 - BTS) - When Kidpool
accidentally
activated a booby trap on the corpse of a fallen Deadpool Corps member
at their headquarters, he managed to mutter "Dogpool, I'm right behind
you..." before the headquarters blew up with him inside.
(Deadpool vs. Carnage#4 - BTS) - While battling Carnage with several
different symbiotes grafted to his body, Deadpool taunted Carnage by
claiming he was Carnage's spirit animal and his symbiote each changed
into animal versions of Deadpool, one assuming the form of Dogpool.
(Ziggy Pig & Silly Seal Infinity Comic I#4 (fb) - BTS)
- At some
point, a mask was made in Dogpool's likeness.
(Ziggy Pig & Silly Seal Infinity Comic I#4 - BTS) - When the criminal Scammers began operating a phone and email scam, one of the Scammers wore a Dogpool mask while working.
(Deadpool: Badder Blood#3 (fb) - BTS) - Using his reality altering
powers, the robotic Killville restored Dogpool, Kidpool and Lady
Deadpool to life (see comments).
(Ziggy Pig & Silly Seal Infinity Comic I#6) - Dogpool was one of several animal characters to descend on Ziggy & Silly's Totally Normal Not Sketchy at All Establishment after Ziggy Pig had the criminal Scammers impersonate the animals, ruining the animals' reputations so that he could improve his own.
(Ziggy Pig & Silly Seal Infinity Comic I#7) - After
taking down
the Scammers, Dogpool and the other animal characters confronted and
beat Ziggy Pig and Silly Seal in their offices.
(Deadpool: Badder Blood#3 (fb) - BTS) - Dogpool rejoined the
Multiversal Deadpool Corps and the group was placed within Killville's
mindscape scenarios alongside other Deadpool counterparts.
(Deadpool: Badder Blood#3) - Fighting from outside the scenario
Killville had placed Deadpool-616 in, Dogpool and the Deadpool Corps
managed to teleport Earth-616's Deadpool out of Killville's scenario
moments before he was flash fried by the Shi'ar Imperial Guardsman Starbolt.
When the Deadpool Corps were unsure if they had truly teleported the
right reality's Deadpool, Dogpool confirmed with a bark that it was
Deadpool-616. Deadpool questioned how the Deadpool Corps could be
there, as he thought they were all dead, but Lady Deadpool explained
how Killville could pull from space and time and make the impossible
possible. Dogpool then watched as Kidpool gave Deadpool one of his
energy swords in hopes that Deadpool could use it to stop Killville
moments before Deadpool was returned to Killville's scenario.
Comments: Created by Victor Gischler and Phillip Bond.
Dogpool was only called "Deadpool"
in his first appearance. He was not called "Dogpool" until his second
appearance in Prelude to Deadpool Corps#4 and even then, he was only
referred to as such in Deadpool's recap monologue on the credits page.
He was eventually given the Dogpool name by Deadpool-616, who was
trying to distinguish him from the other Deadpool counterparts in the
Deadpool Corps.
The last page of the Deadpool
Corps story in Deadpool IV#1000 shows the Deadpool Corps returning to
Earth-20110 to celebrate the anniversary of Mimepool's death. While the
story has Deadpool-20110 state that it takes place on Earth-616, it
clearly does not and it was later established that it took place on
Earth-20110. With that taken care of, there's still a bit of confusion
as to the timing of when the story could take place. Assuming the
Deadpool Corps in that story is the same one we've seen in the Deadpool
Corps comic (and there's really nothing to say it isn't them, other
than Deadpool-616 not being present), then the Deadpool Corps would not
have had a chance to visit Earth-20110 until after their first mission
together, against the Awareness. Since that storyline ended in Deadpool
Corps I#5, which was published the same month as Deadpool IV#1000, the
flashback in the story where they battle Mimepool could easily occur
right after the Awareness is killed and the Deadpool Corps decide to
stay together. However, their return to Earth-20110 on the last page
for the anniversary of Mimepool's death is a little more tricky with
Marvel's sliding time scale. If it is indeed the one year anniversary
of Mimepool's death then the last page would occur roughly in the real
life years 2013-2014, given the sliding time scale, despite the story
originally being published in 2010.
Kidpool claimed he and Dogpool had an encounter with mutant space fleas that left Dogpool riddled with flea bites but while making this claim, Kidpool was also exaggerating wildly to impressive local bystanders so the entire encounter with the mutant space fleas was probably (and entirely) fabricated or at the very least, horribly exaggerated. My guess is Dogpool encountered normal Earth fleas and Kidpool made up the whole mutant space flea thing to explain why Dogpool was scratching himself so badly.
The third story in Deadpool
Family#1 was Dogpool-centric but it's debatable how this story fits
into any sort of canon other than its own. It appears to taken place in
an alternate reality (later confirmed as Earth-46116), where Ant-Man
(Scott Lang) was not dead (he was dead
at the time of the story on Earth-616) and still wore his classic
Ant-Man costume (which he had ditched years earlier on Earth-616). The
addition of Sunny the Sentry Dog in Avengers Tower
also supports the story occurring in an alternate reality, as there was
no such character on Earth-616 at the time (or since). The story also
seems to
rely on cartoon-like jokes and in some cases, cartoony physics such as
Dogpool being able to open cabinets, pick up and throw knives with his
paws, and pulling out an anchor from seemingly nowhere. For the
purposes
of this profile, I am treating the story as if it does involve
Deadpool-616 and Dogpool-103173 but with the two of them visiting the
cartoon-like world of Earth-46116. It wouldn't be the first time the
Deadpool Corps had visited an alternate reality, as they are seen on
Earth-20110 in Deadpool IV#1000.
In Uncanny Avengers III#1, Spider-Man quits the Avengers due to Deadpool joining and when the Human Torch tries to get him to stay, Spider-Man remarks that the Torch wouldn't be lonely too long, as he was sure a talking chimichanga, a succubus or "some dog dressed as Deadpool" would show up to keep him company. While this is a throwaway line likely referencing Dogpool (and Shiklah for that matter), Spider-Man doesn't mention Dogpool specifically by name or anything so I chose not to include it as an appearance of the actual Dogpool. Spider-Man may've just been making a joke, as he likely wasn't even aware of Dogpool's existence, but had he referenced Dogpool by name, I would've included it...
It's not clear when (and why, really) Dogpool was resurrected by Killville. In Deadpool: Badder Blood#3, Deadpool meets the resurrected Deadpool Corps members again and even questions how they can be there when he knew them to be dead. Lady Deadpool explains how Killville could manipulate the past, present and even alternate realities, suggesting that Killville somehow arranged their restoration and for them to be pulled into his virtual scenarios. Now that WOULD somewhat explain how the deceased Lady Deadpool, Headpool and Kidpool were there, as it appears Killville used his powers to restore them. I guess he could've pulled them from the past, moments before their deaths or something. Kidpool for sure could've been pulled from moments before he was blown up. However, this does not really explain Dogpool because Dogpool showed up alive and well after his death in the Ziggy Pig & Silly Seal Infinity Comic, a full year before Deadpool: Badder Blood#3. I guess Killville could've restored Dogpool earlier but I'm not sure how Dogpool could be pulled from the past, as Dogpool's charred corpse was left in the wake of his death. If he was pulled from time by Killville, that corpse would not be there..though I guess Lady Deadpool did mention that Killville could make "what ifs" reality so perhaps Killville was able to restore Dogpool by altering the probability of Dogpool reviving from his death or something...Of course, Killville also placed the Deadpool counterparts within his virtual scenarios to fight one another so how was Dogpool able to confront Ziggy Pig before being trapped in the scenario with the rest of the Deadpool Corps? Maybe Killville resurrected Dogpool a good while before trapping him in the scenario? That's the only solution I can think of, even if it doesn't make much sense on Killville's part to resurrect him then let him go free for weeks to months before pulling into the scenario. Then again, I suppose it's also possible the Dogpool in the Ziggy Pig-Silly Seal Infinity Comic could be some sort of alternate reality counterpart but there's not really anything else that makes that Infinity Comic be non-616...aside from the silly humor, which, of course, has never been enough to contradict -616. Just look at Squirrel Girl...or Howard the Duck...or Damage Control....
While Dogpool's real name was only ever referred to as Wilson in-story, the Deadpool Corps entry in Deadpool Corps: Rank & Foul confirms that Dogpool's full name is indeed Wade Wilson.
