History:
(Amazing Adventures II#5/1 (fb) - BTS) - The young Joey's father taught him how to be a good person. Under unrevealed circumstances, Joey's uncle Roscoe ended up taking care of Joey, and Roscoe knew he had become the boy's only living relative. Joey retained memories of his father teaching him to be a good person.

(Amazing Adventures II#8/1 (fb) - BTS) - Roscoe taught Joey how to pick a lock.

(Amazing Adventures II#5/1) - Roscoe manipulated Joey into climbing up a narrow ladder and sneaking through a window so he could let Roscoe's criminal friends into a warehouse they wanted to rob. In tears, Joey refused to go through with it, saying his father wouldn't have wanted him to, and Roscoe slapped the boy for his defiance. The arriving Inhuman Black Bolt then shockingly attacked the criminals, knocking them out to save the boy from further harm. Overcome by the recent loss of his memories, Black Bolt collapsed and Joey rushed to his side, encouraging him to speak.

(Amazing Adventures II#6/1) - Joey saw Black Bolt rush toward the waterfront, where he attempted to speak, causing a huge ship to explode. Joey rushed Black Bolt to safety before the authorities showed up. Soon after, Lionel Dibbs found Joey and Black Bolt and held his cybernetic gun-arm on them.

(Amazing Adventures II#7/1) - Dibbs put his gun away and called Black Bolt and Joey back to his car, offering an alliance with them, but then Dibbs gassed them in order to keep them compliant and put them in captivity.

(Amazing Adventures II#8/1) - Joey broke out of the room that Dibbs had locked him in then knocked over the chair of the guard placed outside, knocking the man out when his head hit the floor. As Joey rushed downtown, he saw Dibbs defeated, and Roscoe--who'd been wearing Black Bolt's costume in a villainous plot--die from overloading the suit. Joey went back to Black Bolt for comfort.

(Amazing Adventures II#9/1) - Joey got Black Bolt, who was still amnesiac, a cup of java, but Black Bolt was startled by how hot it was and rushed out, scared to use his voice. Joey went after him but they were attacked by Magneto's mutates, who knocked out Joey with a punch while capturing Black Bolt.

(Amazing Adventures II#10/1) - Later that night, Joey revived and realized that Black Bolt had been taken; when he looked up, he saw three approaching lights in the sky -- Joey was then levitated upward and abducted by the Trikon, foes of the Inhumans.

(Avengers I#95 (fb) - BTS) - Under unrevealed circumstances, Joey was released from the Trikon and reunited with the still-amnesiac Black Bolt. They ended up in San Francisco, where criminals closed in on them.

(Avengers I#95) - The criminals broke in and one took Joey hostage, holding a gun to his head; but then Captain America arrived and disabled the criminal with his shield. The Inhuman Triton entered with Goliath (Clint Barton) and Rick Jones, having taken down the other criminals. Black Bolt's memories were restored and Joey realized that Black Bolt was royalty. Black Bolt urgently told the others that they needed to return to Attilan (which had been taken over by Maximus) and he invited Joey aboard the Quinjet with him. They met Iron Man, Vision and Thor at Attilan and Black Bolt lowered the shields around the city. Inside, Black Bolt led his allies in fighting back against the forces of his brother Maximus, who had seized control of Attilan, and soon the city was liberated. Joey stood with Black Bolt as he reclaimed power.
