(Deadpool III#29 (fb) - BTS) - Mercedes was high school sweethearts with Wade Wilson....or perhaps (see comments). (Deadpool III#32 (fb) / Deadpool Corps: Rank and Foul#1) - Mercedes and Wade Wilson met at a Calgary university where they had a philosophy class together.      Wade liked "No Exit" while Mercedes hated it.       She threatened to throw it in the fountain just so he would grab her hand.  (Deadpool III#27) - Wade Wilson gave Mercedes a locket with their picture and the inscription, "MY ANGEL, WITH THE DIRTY HALO." (Deadpool Corps: Rank and Foul#1) - Wade and Mercedes married after graduating with teaching degrees. (Deadpool III#32 (fb)) - Wade and Mercedes had their honeymoon in Hawaii.       As they hiked across Manapua Beachhead, Wade swore he would love her until Hawaii froze over.

(Deadpool III#32 (fb)) - They both worried that he was dead, but as they stepped into the shallow stream and began to fish him out, Wade realized the man was still breathing.      After they got the man onto land, Mercedes wondered whether he would make it, and Wade replied that they could only pray. (Deadpool III#30 (fb)) - Thinking him a lumberjack that had fallen into the river and washed downstream, they took him into their home, got him cleaned up, and fed him warm sweet potato soup.      Lacking a phone, they planned to wait until morning to take him into town, but a snowstorm made them unable to leave their house for a week.  .

. (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - Waking up in the cabin, Jack realized what a mess he had made of things, and he resolved that is was time to make himself disappear and usurp the life of Wade. With Wade happy to have another man around to talk to, Jack got him to tell him secrets about his life, his work, and his wife. (Deadpool III#33 (fb) - BTS) <At least according to T-Ray> - Jack planned to set the house on fire, kill Wade and be badly burned himself, after which he would use technology, plastic surgery, and falsified credentials to assume Wade's identity. He apparently believed he could even usurp Wade's role as Mercedes' husband. (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - When the snow finally stopped, Mercedes drove off, planning to go to the nearest neighbor and use their radio to call for help. (Deadpool III#33 (fb) - BTS) - Jack knocked out Wade (apparently with the blunt end of his axe) and doused the ground around Wade in gasoline.  (Deadpool III#33 (fb) - BTS) - Having forgotten her wallet and worried about getting a ticket even that remote area, Mercedes returned home.  (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - Mercedes saw Jack standing over Wade about to drop the match onto the gasoline.      Jack tackled Mercedes, hoping she would be easily knocked out, but Wade then jumped on Jack's back, stabbed him, and then tackled him through a window. Recovering, Jack repeatedly stabbed Wade, but when Mercedes approached with an axe, Jack reflexively stabbed her in the chest.  (Deadpool III#28 (fb) - BTS) - A battered Mercedes Wilson begged for help, "by all that's holy."  (Deadpool III#29 (fb) - BTS) <10 years after having met Wade> - Mercedes was slain in front of Wade Wilson. (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - As Mercedes died, Jack carried her away, shattered by having slain the innocent woman with whom he had plotted to live.

(Deadpool III#1) - At Hellhouse, T-Ray greeted Deadpool, "Long time, no see," and Wade told him not long enough and asked if he had killed any babies that week, to which T-Ray responded "Only ugly ones."      Patch was going to give away an assignment Deadpool wanted to T-Ray because Deadpool had showed up late, but Deadpool convinced Patch to give it to him anyway. (Deadpool III#3) - When Deadpool's healing factor began to break down, T-Ray apparently appreciated the situation and bet $3000 at Hellhouse that Deadpool would not regrow the finger within three minutes (or ever).      When Deadpool failed to regrow the finger, T-Ray claimed his money and taunted Deadpool that he wasn't fooling anyone, asked if it felt uncomfortable to have exposed weakness and advised that he get used to it.      Although legitimately concerned, Deadpool mocked the veiled threat from T-Ray and told him to go knock over a Quick-E-Mart and steal a pack of Tic-Tacs on his way home.      Deadpool further told T-Ray that his breath was so bad that when he nauseated people to whom he spoke on the phone. (Deadpool III#5 (fb) - BTS) - T-Ray made it clear to the others at Hellhouse that he did not want to hear Deadpool's name, and most of the other regulars were intimidated by him and avoided mentioning Deadpool's name when T-Ray was present.      Patch warned T-Ray about mixin' up mischief in Hellhouse. (Deadpool III#5) - At Hellhouse, when Weasel mentioned Deadpool's name during a game of billiards (pool), T-Ray showed up, intimidating the other players and reminding Weasel that he did like hearing that name and suggesting that no one really liked the man.      T-Ray further added that everyone just tolerated that name and the person because they were afraid of him but that he (T-Ray) was not. Apparently plucking a hair from Weasel's shirt, T-Ray additionally advised Weasel not to rely too heavily on his pal, as he would eventually get snuffed.      When Patch showed up and threatened T-Ray that one more incident of mischief-making <would perhaps get him fined or perhaps banned for Hellhouse temporarily or permanently>, T-Ray replied that there was no trouble there, and he intimidated Weasel into confirming this.      Later, as T-Ray leaned in a corner surrounded by empty beer cans and liquor bottles (which he may or may not have drunk), Roach told CF that T-Ray was not right, that everything went south when T-Ray came into Hellhouse, that he sat "all high and mighty, makin' like he was king of the mercs or somethin'--if I thought I had a shot, I'd pop a cap in his eye...I'd do it for Deadp--" and Fenway swung his baseball bat into his throat to silence him to protect him from T-Ray's wrath.      Weasel considered that everyone was scared of T-Ray and that no one would look him (Weasel) in the eye. He silently wondered if the rest of the mercenaries would take T-Ray's offer and try to eliminate Deadpool. He further considered that while Deadpool was somewhat inconsistent and unpredictable, at least he had a soul.      Appreciating that a number of the other mercs were watching him, T-Ray advised them, "After I butcher those of you who are staring, expect me to do things to your remains in front of your relatives."      After everyone looked away, he added, "Good doggies."

.      Patch subsequently announced an assignment that would pay three million dollars to kill thirty dirty wise guys (mafia or other mobsters, presumably) plus incentive bonuses for their kids.      Patch considered that no one would want that job, but T-Ray strode forward, snatched the assignment out of Patch's hand and told him to expect his cut by 6 pm. (Deadpool III#5 (fb) - BTS) - T-Ray completed the assignment, killing 47 people in total. (Deadpool III#5) - That evening, T-Ray sat alone in a room, presumably in his place, decorated with candles, human skulls and apparently numerous human corpses.      With a snap of his fingers, he lit the candles and considered that the assignment had gone smoothly and that he had kept evidence; while they sometimes asked for evidence, even when they did not, he showed them anyway, as they needed to see it and to be a part of what he had done.      Stripping off his clothes, he thought "I am an extension of their rage, greed, pain, lust soul, and they need to know that. I bring them evidence so that they can see that I am indispensable. It's better advertising than word of mouth."      He sat there and breathed, feeling his wounds scarring over and his bodily grudgingly repairing itself again and he recounted the details of the job to honor the dead, or else their spirits would haunt "us."     He considered the people he killed and how they died, sights, sounds and especially smells: Gunpowder, blood, skin in his mouth.     He then mentally spoke to Deadpool, noting that the dishonored dead flocked to him like flies on a walking corpse, clawing at him with anxious fingers, "my fingers."     Considering a number of names apparently tattooed on his own back that were crossed out with scar along with the still intact name "Wilson," he told him that he was not ready to tap him on the back yet.

(Deadpool III#7) - At Hellhouse, T-Ray advised Weasel that he was going to "nuke your pal, Wade, today about 8 pm" and that it was going to be ugly and permanent. He further noted that if Weasel wanted to warn him, it might make things more interesting for about 15 seconds. (Deadpool III#7 - BTS) - Seeking to warn Deadpool, Weasel tracked his teleporter and transported to his default coordinates. At Deadpool's home base, however, Blind Al -- disregarding any warning -- insisted Weasel depart immediately, as Deadpool would punish her and anyone who visited there, perhaps terminally. (Deadpool III#7) - Around 8 pm, Deadpool arrived at Hellhouse with Typhoid Mary, seeking to make her do mercenary work to pay the debt she owed him. When T-Ray arrived and advised Patch against utilizing Mary as she was dirty, Deadpool countered that when T-Ray jumped in the ocean, he left a ring around the beach. T-Ray went up to and put his arms around Mary, but she put a knife to his throat and advised him that these were not the old days and that he should take his hands off of her.      After Mary departed to fill out forms, T-Ray attempted to advise Deadpool against bringing Mary there and that she belonged in the asylum from which he had liberated her. He continued that while they (T-Ray and Deadpool) had no choice in their fates that Mary was trying to get out and have a normal life and that whatever happened Deadpool was responsible: "Your arrogance in thinking you can help her will be your downfall."     Disregarding T-Ray's advice, Deadpool told T-Ray his breath was going to burn his eyebrows off before stating that T-Ray could not handle his former girlfriend running around with him and that it was a reminder that no matter how hard T-Ray tried, Deadpool could always do him one better. Remaining silent, T-Ray calmly pulled out a small container, removed a piece of paper covered in something mimicking Chinese lettering (presumably meant to be a fulu, see comments)) and stuck the paper on Deadpool's forehead, after which Deadpool's head caught on fire. Although pained by the flames, Deadpool seemed to be more distraught about losing his mask and having his scarred face exposed, and he ran out of the room with his head on fire. T-Ray calmly stated, "Tag."     With T-Ray having broken his policy against fighting in Hellhouse, Patch told T-Ray to get out for a month, as he was on probation and not getting any jobs. When T-Ray asked who was going to show him out and still have breath to tell about it, Patch called him a belligerent, backwater punk. For challenging him in his own place, Patch offered $10,000 to the first person to "bounce this trash to the curb," with an extra $3000 if they could do it without scratching the floor. However, intimidated by T-Ray, none of the other mercenaries took the challenge.

(Deadpool III#12) - T-Ray used an apparent fulu to incinerate a goat inside some sort of mystic circle to gain information from the Earth that indicated it was time for him to engage Deadpool directly.      Soon after, when Deadpool traveled with Weasel via jeep across a remote region of Iowa in search of Siryn and had just lodged his hand in the jeep in frustration over not being able to find her, T-Ray confronted Wade, threatening that if he found first, it might put a cramp in his plans for a wonderful life. Deadpool replied that T-Ray had fallen out of the ugly tree and commented that it would be too bad if T-Ray's pale skin got melanoma in the blazing sun. Noting that Deadpool had come back to Hellhouse and "broke heads on his crew," which indicated that burning off his face was not a clear enough message for him, T-Ray told him outright that if Deadpool didn't just disappear forever, he would drag him kicking and screaming into darkness, across a line he did not want to cross.      With a fist stuck in the jeep, Deadpool futilely warned T-Ray to back off, but T-Ray prodded him with his recent dark experiences with Typhoid and then told Deadpool to meet him tomorrow at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco at noon. Before teleporting away, T-Ray advised Deadpool to settle his accounts because he was going down...way down. (Deadpool III#12 - BTS) - Deadpool ignored warnings from Weasel, Zoe Culloden and Blind Al not to engage T-Ray in his current mental state. (Deadpool III#12 - BTS / Deadpool III#13) - Typhoid further destabilized Deadpool by posing as Siryn and romancing him. (Deadpool III#13 - BTS) - Deadpool was devastated when Typhoid revealed her deception and taunted him. He considered not going through with his confrontation with T-Ray. (Deadpool III#13) - T-Ray considered that pieces were falling, destinies intertwining and worlds shifting. As blood apparently poured out of his glowing green eyes, he told Deadpool to come to him, as he was hungry..."Let's dance." (Deadpool III#13 - BTS) - Deadpool was further devastated by a perceived betrayal when Weasel traveled to his secret base (to help Blind Al deal with him), which he considered a violation of trust and privacy. He violently punished both Al and Weasel and then locked them in "the hole" in his base.      Landau, Luckman & Lake expediter Zoe Culloden plotted to prevent the confrontation, but Gerry LeQuare (formerly of Landau, Luckman, Lake & LeQuare) used a codeword to incapacitate her via LLL's neural kill switch. (Deadpool III#13) - After Deadpool teleported to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco at noon, T-Ray mocked his predictability, and Deadpool told him that the Village People would never go back on stage if he kept stealing their wardrobe. The two soon clashed swords, with each striking the other before Deadpool disarmed T-Ray and then shoved his sword through his chest. Feigning incapacitation, T-Ray welcomed Deadpool back to the other side as he pulled out a fulu and then blew on it, peppering Deadpool with a series of mystic blasts.      With another fulu, T-Ray healed his wounds and told Deadpool that he had not had a heart to wound since Deadpool had torn it out of him. Casting another fulu into the air, T-Ray summoned storm clouds and a lightning bolt before causing a snowstorm. T-Ray then taunted Deadpool with memories of what the snow represented before at least seemingly flying into the air and then blasting him. T-Ray continued to batter Deadpool while hinting of memories of fire and ice and the Patsy Cline song, "Crazy."      The recovering Zoe considered that all was lost, and she teleported back to LLL base just before T-Ray apparently projected a series of ghost, demons, or some other demon-looking spell that tore through Deadpool. As he battered his foe, T-Ray continued to hint how their enmity had started in the snow with T-Ray's ultimate loss and Deadpool's ill-gotten gain, "the contorted road that would lead us back together...and end here." T-Ray continued that he had taken Hellhouse and Deadpool's job from him, seen him crippled by a fool's quest to be something he was not, to turn on those dearest to him, his betrayal by Typhoid. As he mocked that Deadpool nothing, including no hope or self-respect, T-Ray apparently used a fulu to charge his sword and stab Deadpool.      As Deadpool collapsed, T-Ray took his teleportation belt and mockingly referred to him as "Wade," before teleporting away and noting that he would see him in Deadpool's nightmares.

(Deadpool III#14 - BTS) - As the snow continued over Golden Gate Park, reporting Nikki Teng noted that initial reports had identified Spider-Man fighting an "unidentified, pale-skinned behemoth," although it was later confirmed that it had been Deadpool, rather than Spider-Man. (Deadpool III#14) - T-Ray returned to Hellhouse, announcing his triumph to Patch, C.F. and Fenway, at least.      Mockingly congratulating T-Ray, Patch asked if he was going to trash the Hellhouse crew and take over. T-Ray voiced possibilities of torturing Patch before suggesting that he might just take a vacation. '      Noting that Deadpool had learned his first lesson, he stated that he would be back when it was time to teach him some more truths about life. He apparently left them with Deadpool's teleport belt, after he hurled a fulu that transformed into a knife and carried the belt along with it as it struck the bullseye on a dartboard.     Sitting atop the roof (somewhere, perhaps of his own home), T-Ray felt the air to be violent and evocative, and it reminded him of the emotions that the spirit that used to live in his body felt. If he still possessed the capacity to feel joy, he would consider it to have been a pretty good day.     Typhoid Mary visited him, and they both noted their pleasure in having taken down Deadpool. T-Ray advised her that someday Deadpool would climb back up from the hole in which he sunk, and they would just shove him back again. Telling Mary that in the meantime he would be lurking and learning, he bade Mary goodbye. (Deadpool III#14 - BTS) - Deadpool revived, and Zoe Culloden offered to take him to introduce him to the rest of his life.

(Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - T-Ray resurrected Mercedes with no memory of how she died. He plotted to put her in jeopardy and to manipulate into Deadpool into rescuing her. His goal was to have Deadpool fall in love with Mercedes, and when Deadpool's "heart was full of love and hope and glow," he would reveal the truth, intending to break Deadpool's spirit as he tortured him and forced him to watch as he took Mercedes away from him forever.

(Deadpool#26 (fb) - BTS) - Deadpool began to have hallucinations (involving bunnies and Mercedes Wilson, though he did not recognize her at this time) leading him to seek out Dr. Bong for psychological therapy.

(Deadpool III#26 - BTS) - Deadpool related recent events, including the hallucination, to Dr. Bong, who diagnosed him as being insane.

(Deadpool III#27 - BTS) - Deadpool continued to hallucinate about Mercedes, and Bong eventually explained the psychology behind his hallucinations. Deadpool accepted much of this, but realized the woman was someone who had stolen his heart before she died.

(Deadpool Corps: Rank and Foul#1) - T-Ray bribed Deadpool's ally Alestaire Grunch to send Deadpool on a mission where he encountered Mercedes fleeing from Bullseye, also hired to place her in jeopardy.

(Deadpool III#28 (fb) - BTS / Deadpool: Rank and Foul) - Mercedes found herself in Atlanta, Georgia, fleeing from Bullseye, and T-Ray manipulated Deadpool into rescuing Mercedes.

(Deadpool III#28) - After Deadpool saved Mercedes from Bullseye, Deadpool and Mercedes shared the feeling that Deadpool was her husband, Wade.

(Deadpool: Rank and Foul (fb) - BTS) - Deadpool drew hope from Mercedes' love and planned to rebuild their supposed idyllic life together, exactly as T-Ray had intended.

(Deadpool III#29 - BTS) - Deadpool coerced an unidentified Latverian scientist based out Castle Doom to analyze a sample of Mercedes' genetic material, and he confirmed that she was not a clone. Deadpool then pressured the scientist to perform another test to prove she was not an alien, although the royal guard arrived soon after. 

(Deadpool III#29 - BTS) - Alestaire Grunch cursed the day that he sold out to the likes of T-Ray and doubly cursed the day he heard the name Mercedes Wilson.

(Deadpool III#30) - As Monty got further information, including the marriage license, photographs, and black ops incidents in the area of the Wilson house, T-Ray ambushed Monty at his residence in Bolivia, noting, "Surprise, sunshine."

(Deadpool III#30 - BTS) - T-Ray subdued Monty and presumably magically transported him to Hellhouse in Chicago, Illinois.

(Deadpool III#30 - BTS) - After helping Deadpool fight off mercenaries loyal to T-Ray at Hellhouse, Patch took Deadpool to Grunch who was slain by a number of cats before he could reveal anything.

(Deadpool III#30 (fb) - BTS) - T-Ray left Monty hanging by his neck and wrapped in barbwire at Hellhouse. He stuck (with what looked like a bone) a note to Monty's chest that said, "Crazy See you Soon."

T-Ray's note allowed Deadpool to realize T-Ray was the culprit.

(Deadpool III#31 (fb) - BTS) - Mercedes accompanied Ilaney, Monty, and Deadpool via teleportation to a Landau, Luckman, & Lake facility to get treatment for Monty.

(Deadpool III#31 - BTS) - Deadpool considered that while he had no idea how T-Ray had found his home in Bolivia, "put the big hurt on Monty" and managed to string him up at Hellhouse, he thought that T-Ray had gone through the trouble just to show him (Deadpool) that he could.

    Mercedes was subsequently manhandled and thrown in a holding cell along with Deadpool and Ilaney due to unauthorized travel to the facility. Considering that ultimately they were there because of T-Ray, Mercedes asked Deadpool to promise that they would track him down like a dog and kill him. Surprised at Mercedes' intensity, Deadpool agreed.

    After Deadpool broke them out of their cell, LLL Overboss Zoe Culloden used her "Overboss Killswitch" to render the troops unconscious and then offered Deadpool passage through a doorway that would give him and Mercedes a chance of living a normal life together, somewhere T-Ray could never find them.

    Agreeing to start a new life together, Deadpool and Mercedes (and Ilaney) passed through the portal...but instead found themselves by the old Wilson cabin in Maine and confronted by T-Ray (presumably via T-Ray's mystic manipulations).

(Deadpool III#32) - Deadpool attacked T-Ray who transported them to some mystic/astral/whatever realm, leaving Deadpool, Mercedes, and Ilaney to watch a flashback of Wade and Mercedes Wilson finding and pulling a man out of the water. While Deadpool went off on the flashback Wilsons, trying to advise them to kill the man instead, T-Ray confronted Mercedes and Ilaney. When T-Ray offered Ilaney a chance to depart safely to her home, but -- fiercely loyal to Deadpool -- she refused, and T-Ray summoned flying piranha-like creatures to magically transport her away while seemingly consuming her. T-Ray then had Mercedes watch via a mystic crystal ball while restrained by mystic hands as he confronted Deadpool. 

    T-Ray challenged Deadpool with memories of Wade and Mercedes' life together, which T-Ray reviewed in detail while Deadpool only seemed vaguely familiar. Deadpool assaulted T-Ray, trying to force him to give Mercedes back to him. Instead, T-Ray  transferred Deadpool to a vision of Ilaney's plane crashing with Mercedes' parents, where he noted that he would leave Ilaney trapped in an endless loop of this crash unless Deadpool gave Mercedes to him. When Deadpool punched away Mercedes' mom (or a representation thereof) as a "guilt-inducing extra," T-Ray asked Mercedes how/why Deadpool wouldn't remember her parents.

    When Deadpool attacked T-Ray anew, T-Ray asked him why -- if T-Ray was the man who had destroyed his life -- when Deadpool discovered they were working together at Hellhouse, he didn't even shoot him a dirty look.

    T-Ray next transported himself and Deadpool to the Calgary university location where Wade and Mercedes first met, but when T-Ray asked him about it and Deadpool insisted that he knew that was NOT where he and Mercedes met, Mercedes confronted him, asking him how they had met. When he didn't remember, noting he was distracted with the killer T-Ray, Mercedes began to question why.

    T-Ray then announced that Deadpool had never met Mercedes' parents, and he asked Deadpool why he had chosen this date to torture him. Deadpool had no idea, but Mercedes realized it was her and Wade's anniversary. T-Ray then revealed that the reason Deadpool didn't remember is that they weren't his memories...T-Ray was Wade Wilson.
    Watching the flashback again, Deadpool was devastated as he realized that it was indeed him, not T-Ray, being pulled out of the water by Wade and Mercedes. 

(Deadpool III#33) - Mercedes and Deadpool both denied T-Ray's claims initially. T-Ray then revealed Deadpool's history as Jack, usurping others' lives, and detailed how Jack had assaulted the Wilsons. 

    Further detailing his own revenge plot against Deadpool, T-Ray then transformed Mercedes into a red-haired, pale-skinned form (reflecting T-Ray's own form?).

    As Mercedes watched, T-Ray apparently summoned all the people Deadpool had ever killed, and Deadpool was briefly overwhelmed upon seeing how many there were. 

    T-Ray then told Mercedes that he had given her new life and access to his own power, and now, as his final gift, they would together crush the spirit of the man who had destroyed their heaven.

    However, as T-Ray taunted Deadpool with what he had nearly had and had instead lost, Deadpool ultimately considered that while he had been a very bad person in the past, he had been actively trying to be a better person, and he felt like he had been succeeding. As a result, Deadpool laughed at T-Ray's convoluted plot. Deadpool then apologized to Mercedes for what he'd done, acknowledging that it didn't make it any better, and he reminded her she had a second chance, and she should make sure she didn't end up like him or T-Ray.

    Deadpool then confronted T-Ray, noting that he had brought his wife back from the dead to set her up with her murderer, just to torture the murderer. Deadpool then told T-Ray to ask Mercedes what was worse, death or this.

    Accusing T-Ray as a "twisted wreck of a man," Mercedes granted power to Deadpool to defeat him, but she withdrew her power before Deadpool could kill T-Ray. When T-Ray argued that he had given Mercedes power so they could share vengeance, Mercedes countered that he had used her, and that she would not let that happen anymore. 

    After noting that they would free Ilaney from the loop in which T-Ray had trapped her, Mercedes considered that she wasn't sure what was next, as not all endings were clean ones. Nonetheless, she denounced Deadpool for having killed her and having setting up her husband to become the devil. She continued that Deadpool still had to pay for what he had done; nonetheless, she told Deadpool that she was giving him a fighting chance, which is better than T-Ray would have given him. 

    As T-Ray and Mercedes vanished in a portal...

(Deadpool: Rank and Foul (fb) - BTS) - ...to an unrevealed dimension...

(Deadpool III#33) - T-Ray noted that they would continue their conflict on other worlds. T-Ray further told Deadpool to keep the name "Wade Wilson" as he didn't want it any more.

(Deadpool Corps: Rank and Foul#1) -  T-Ray eventually regained his faculties (Cable and Deadpool I#39 (fb) - BTS) - Secretly observing Deadpool, T-Ray appreciated that Deadpool was trying to re-establish his reputation as the go-to killer-thief-butt-kicker-for-hire, and he resolved that this was the perfect time to exact his revenge.      While Deadpool was rescuing Agent X (Nijo, aka Alex Hayden) from Hydra, T-Ray took hostage Hayden's associates, Outlaw and Sandi Brandenberg, in the offices of Agency X, knowing they would serve as bait to lure Deadpool to them. The powerless Sandi was tied to a chair, while Outlaw was chained and her mouth taped shut. (Cable and Deadpool I#38) - Sandi warned T-Ray that he would never get away with it and asked why he was doing this, and T-Ray advised her that he already gotten away with it, and that it was because both Deadpool and Agent X had his identity, and he planned to get it back from them...one little strip of flesh at a time. (Cable and Deadpool I#39 (fb) - BTS) - T-Ray kidnapped the women and transported them to his base in an old farm in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

. (Cable and Deadpool I#39 - BTS) - Deadpool attacked the patrons at Manhattan's Three Strikes Bar, notably battling the Slough and the Infinity T.A.P., demanding to know where was T-Ray. (Cable and Deadpool I#39 (fb) - BTS) - After Deadpool threatened to destroy all of the liquor bottles in the bar and the patrons insisted he tell Deadpool, the bartender told Deadpool of T-Ray's base. (Cable and Deadpool I#39) - Deadpool crashed through the window of T-Ray's base, but as he approached the kidnappees, T-Ray clocked him from behind with a baseball bat. (Cable and Deadpool I#39 (fb) - BTS) - T-Ray bound Deadpool to a chair. (Cable and Deadpool I#39) - T-Ray repeatedly broke Deadpool's jaw to prevent him from speaking, allowing T-Ray to relate his frustration that Deadpool continued to be the same psychotic idiot since the revelation of his true history. Deadpool nonetheless broke free and repeated battered him to prevent him from using his magic spells. After slashing T-Rays' throat and finding T-Ray did not demonstrate a healing factor, Deadpool concluded "you're not me."      Deadpool further noted someone had recently helped fix his head, getting rid of the black spots in his memories, and he stated that T-Ray's story was full of holes. When Deadpool asked if T-Ray would admit that his story was a lie, T-Ray summoned mystic sword and armor and stabbed Deadpool through the chest.      Knowing that Deadpool's healing factor was slowed by the sword's magic, T-Ray offered him to leave and live (although he would kill the women) or fight and possibly died. Although having been trying to avoid killing people, Deadpool through his own sword into T-Ray's head, seemingly killing him.      T-Ray subsequently vanished in a mystic flash.

. (Cable and Deadpool I#46 (fb) - BTS / Cable and Deadpool I#47 (fb)) - The sword used by Deadpool continued to fluctuate between planes, and the wound continued to leak ectotheric energies. As the lobotomized T-Ray attempted to escape extradimensionally, he tumbled headlong through various planes, and the black energies, which he had barely begun to understand, spilled from him like blood. This caused a fraying of the barriers through which he passed, which in turn -- like the toppling of dominoes -- came to gravely threaten the Earthly plane as well. (Cable and Deadpool I#46 - BTS) - Dr. Strange informed Deadpool of the disruption and the cause. (Cable and Deadpool I#47 - BTS) - To gather the needed mystic energy from each of the realms through which T-Ray had passed, Dr. Strange sent Deadpool (and Bob, Agent of Hydra) across those dimensions where he was forced to slay a number of beings. (Cable and Deadpool I#47) - Strange finally led Deadpool to T-Ray's form, and he explained that the mystic energy he had accumulated was necessary to replace that which T-Ray had lost upon his descent. Strange further explained that he had to restore T-Ray to life.      To accomplish this, T-Ray plunged his energy-filled sword into the wound in T-Ray's head, returning the energies and restoring the dimensional balance.      T-Ray's body vanished to another realm. (Cable and Deadpool I#48 (fb) - BTS) - Deadpool had to reunite T-Ray's body and soul to prevent the whole dimensional barrier from happening all over again.

(Cable and Deadpool I#47 - BTS) - Strange explained that it had gone to seek his soul, and Deadpool and Bob were sent back to Earth, arriving in the swamps of New Orleans, where they encountered Brother Voodoo. (Cable and Deadpool I#48) - Brother Voodoo showed Deadpool T-Ray's living husk, with the glowing aura around him being his soul. Voodoo further explained that T-Ray's darksoul was indignant, its anger unchecked, and that he (Voodoo) was preventing the body and soul from reuniting until the soul had been "educated" (humbled).  Voodoo then sent Deadpool to confront T-Ray's spirit, which was relatively giant. After Deadpool explained his purpose there, T-Ray smashed Deadpool after asking what if he didn't want to come back.      Returned to the fight by Voodoo, Deadpool willed himself to enlarge to T-Ray's size, and the two fought evenly until T-Ray shot Deadpool with his shotgun. This somehow shattered Deadpool into many heroic aspects that took the form of various super heroes who attacked T-Ray and overwhelmed him. Reintegrating, Deadpool held his gun to T-Ray's head, but when T-Ray taunted that Deadpool would only be giving him what he wanted and it would prove Deadpool's murderous nature, Deadpool instead shot himself in the head. This apparently had the effect of humbling T-Ray sufficiently for his soul to be reunited with his body.     Before departing, Strange explained that T-Ray had inadvertently positioned himself as the guardian for the integrity of the dimensional barriers. Before he departed as well, Voodoo told T-Ray and Deadpool that they shared a soul and had to rise above the limits they had allowed themselves to accept, and that they had the potential for greatness.      With both men accepting that they were opposing forces and needed each other in some fashion although they still hated each other, T-Ray departed, and Deadpool told him that they both knew who had won this round.

(Deadpool IV#61 (fb) - BTS) - FBI Agent Allison Kemp -- who had year ago been rendered quadriplegic when Deadpool took down an operation she had infiltrated and who had subsequently embezzled billions during her career in order to finance her revenge plot -- hired T-Ray and Slayback to help her take down Deadpool.     Additionally, Deadpool had recently lost his healing factor. (Deadpool IV#62 (fb) - BTS) - Kemp allegedly resurrected T-Ray (see comments). (Deadpool IV#61) - Two days after her retirement, having just completed a thorough briefing, Kemp asked if either of them had any questions. T-Ray replied, "Where's Deadpool...an' how many pieces do ya want 'im in?" (Deadpool IV#62) - Aboard Kemp's helicarrier, she sent T-Ray and Slayback to her virtual training facility to prove that they were ready to face Deadpool. T-Ray replied that this was not necessary as they already knew how to deal with Deadpool, but she reminded them that Deadpool had repeatedly defeated them in the past.      Kemp further advised them that she had spent over a decade studying Deadpool's every move and tactic he had ever used. Kemp insisted they use her training program, and she reminded T-Ray that she had brought him back to life and also assured him that she could and would reverse that process if necessary.     When they fought Deadpool in the VR program, Deadpool used gas grenades to weaken them before attacking with guns and defeating them. (Deadpool IV#63) - As T-Ray and Slayback trained in the weight room, Kemp informed them that Deadpool was on his way, after which the helicarrier announced a critical power failure, indicating that he was already there.     Slayback panicked, grabbed a parachute and jumped out, only to find that Deadpool had rigged a bomb in the parachute, killing him. Correctly suspecting that Deadpool would not be willing to blow up the helicarrier without his healing factor, T-Ray waited until the helicarrier came back on line. T-Ray subsequently located Deadpool in the gym and threatened him with a barbell, which Deadpool hinted he had bombed as well.      Again calling Deadpool's bluff, T-Ray beat him with the barbell, claimed the detonator and mocked his lack of healing. Per Kemp's instruction, T-Ray tossed Deadpool atop the carrier in her presence. After she told Deadpool why she wanted him dead, T-Ray raised the detonator high and triggered it. However, Deadpool had actually planted a bomb within the detonator, and T-Ray was apparently destroyed in the subsequent explosion.

In the initial origin stories of T-Ray, a couple things were different in Deadpool's relating events of the circumstances of Mercedes' death. Per Deadpool: (Deadpool III#28 (fb)) shows Mercedes begging for help and asking why someone hated her, both while she was in a parka. (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) shows she wasn't wearing a parka and had no discussion with Jack when he knocked her out and/or when she approached him from behind with an axe and he stabbed her. Obviously, Deadpool's memories were WAY SKEWED, but it's possible such discussion was had between panels in the actual encounter (Deadpool III#30 (fb)) - The skin of the man they pulled out of the river was bleached almost white from exposure. I don't think Deadpool realized at the time that T-Ray was the man he believed to have been involved. It wasn't until after T-Ray assaulted Monty that Deadpool realized/accepted T-Ray's involvement. (Deadpool III#30 (fb)) - Not wanting to leave any witnesses, the mercenary killed Mercedes, who died in Wade's arms, although Wade survived. (Deadpool III#33 (fb)) - Jack carried Mercedes off after stabbing her, so she presumably died in Jack's arms.  At the time of Deadpool relating the above account, he believed he was Wade Wilson, so if Mercedes died in his arms, that fits with that belief.     Additionally, a couple things were inconsistent in T-Ray's relating events from information revealed by Mercedes or what he had said himself: (Deadpool III#33 (fb) - BTS) - Jack buried both Mercedes and Wade Wilson, but Wade wasn't dead.  But then when Jack's former employers showed up, Wade was lying on the ground (above ground, and not covered in dirt). These two accounts were 5 panels apart... Per Mercedes: (Deadpool III#29 (fb) - BTS) - Mercedes was high school sweethearts with Wade Wilson.  Per T-Ray, which Mercedes remembered: (Deadpool III#32 (fb)) - Mercedes and Wade Wilson met at a Calgary university where they had a philosophy class together. Wade liked "No Exit" while Mercedes hated it. She threatened to throw it in the fountain just so she would grab his hand.

I think I read somewhere (possibly on Facebook), that Joe Kelly used the name "T-Ray" because it was the nickname of a former co-worker and the name thus has no intrinsic in-universe meaning in itself. Unless/until a subsequent writer gives it one, of course.

    I just realized what the band-aid is for. Not confirmed, but I'm pretty certain, given the other touches of Japanese culture T-Ray displays (the use of the sticky paper talismans, the kanji-style letters on his sword), trained as a sorcerer in Japan. T-Ray is a Weeaboo. What is that?
    "Weeaboo (or Weeb): This is a slang term often used to describe a non-Japanese person who is excessively or unhealthily obsessed with Japanese culture, to the point of fetishizing it or imitating Japanese customs, sometimes incorrectly. "
    And what part of Japanese culture is a band-aid across the nose?
    "The band-aid across the nose is a recognized element of Decora fashion, a Japanese street style that emerged in the late 1990s in Harajuku, Tokyo. While the exact origin date is unclear, the trend of wearing colorful band-aids on the nose became prominent as part of the style's embrace of "kawaii" (cute) aesthetics and accessories. Decora fashion is known for its boldness, playfulness, and layering of accessories, often including hair clips, bows, ribbons, colorful band-aids, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. The band-aid specifically fits into this aesthetic as it's a small, cute accessory that adds to the overall childlike and decorated look. " Which would mean that T-Ray is wearing it because he thinks it makes him look cute. Which is insane, but then so is T-Ray.

    It occurs to me that the band-aid might mean that he practices some sort of "blood magic" and consistently draws his blood from his nose and is thus constantly re-applying band-aids to it. As theories go, it's one of them.

    What are the papers T-Ray sticks to victims?

    He puts a sticky-note-on-Deadpool's-face-which-then-bursts-into-flame-and-burns-off-Deadpool's-mask bit is Kind Of reminiscent of Chinese vampire lore (apparently often seen in Hong Kong horror-comedy films) in which sorcerers use what amounts to magic sticky-notes to turn corpses into "hopping vampires" ("jiāngshī"), one of which was seen in a story in Strange Tales #2 (1998)...but I don't know the larger meaning of that, either.

    The sticky notes are indeed commonly seen in both Hong Kong and Japanese movies, not just Hopping Vampires but also spirits of other kinds (you'll see ghosts get trapped in jars that have those kind of notes used to seal them. The writing on them are various prayers and wardings, and the sticky notes aspect is just to keep the thing stuck to the target. And I think from the description of the scene you mentioned with Deadpool and T-Ray's note burning his mask off, you might well be right, since if you look at T-Ray's sword there seems to be hanzi/kanji on the end of the blade near the hilt. I've tried running them through Google Translate to see if they mean anything, but it looks like the artist just drew squiggles rather than finding real Japanese or Chinese letters.

Following up on that...per Wikipedia

    Fulu (traditional Chinese: 符籙; simplified Chinese: 符箓; pinyin: fulu) are asemic Taoist magic symbols and incantations, translatable into English as 'talismanic script', which are written or painted on talismans by Taoist practitioners.

    These practitioners are called 符 籙派; fulu pai; 'the fulu sect', an informal group made up of priests from different schools of Taoism. Like most aspects of Taoist practice, use of these objects is not confined to Taoism: they have been incorporated into several forms of Chinese Buddhism, and have inspired the ofuda used in Japanese Buddhism and Shinto and the bujeok used in Korean shamanism.

Etymology

    符; fu are instructions for deities and spirits, symbols for exorcism, and recipes for potions or charms used to treat ailments. A 籙; lu is a registry for the memberships of priests, which additionally lists the skills they are trained in.
