UNDERDWELLERS
(see comments)
|
. Classification: Semi-humanoid extraterrestrial race Location/Base of Operations: The Great Eye, a volcano on an unidentified planet, unidentified star system (likely the Gorfin system), unidentified galaxy (see comments) Known Members: None identified Affiliations: Eugene "Flash" Thompson Enemies: Gramosians under Mercurio, . . Powers/Abilities: Dwelling within the volcano known as the Great Eye, the Underdwellers appear to be rock-based life forms with a solid surface and a molten core, with an opening at the top, much like a volcano. Their rock-like forms likely grant them great
durability and strength, although they may have been relatively
slow-moving. They are presumably comfortable within the great heat,
pressure and gas content of a volcano; they may or may not be
vulnerable to cold, water, etc. It is unrevealed whether they can project magma from their forms, or if it just is contained with them, only spilling out through wounds or perhaps through the top of their heads. It is unrevealed whether the Underdwellers spoke, and it is similarly unrevealed whether they were male or female or just reproduced asexually, such as by budding, or perhaps they were born from the lava. . |
Type: Bilaterally symmetric rock-based bipeds History: (Venom: Space Knight#4 (fb) - BTS) - Gramos
required vast quantities of energy to survive. When the Gramosians
refused to take the energy from other planets, Mercurio went rogue and
began amassing weapons and power from "all over the galaxy." (Venom: Space Knight#3 (fb) - BTS) <Three cycles before the main story>
- Mercurio's agents planted a device within the Great Eye volcano on
the world of the Wugin and
Underdwellers, causing its
eruption and the befouling of their atmosphere. The Underdwellers
blamed the surface-dwelling Wugin for the damage to their Great Eye and
attacked them, and the Wugin fought back, led by their queen, Iqa. |
|
(Venom: Space Knight#3) -
As the Underdwellers battled the Wugin, Thompson encountered Iqa, who told him of the comet landing in the Great Eye
and causing it to open, as well as the Underdwellers' blaming of the
Wugin for the Great Eye and attacking them. Iqa feared that if the cause was not removed, her planet would be destroyed. Flash told her that if she could get him through the mess of warring Wugins and Underdwellers, he would jump into the Great Eye and sort everything. Iqa joined Thompson in fighting their way past the Underdwellers, after which Thompson climbed to the summit and dove into the lava, en route using his sword to knock back Underdwellers attempting to stop him. . (Venom: Space Knight#3 - BTS) - Thompson located and destroyed the Mercurian device. As Thompson re-surfaced, Iqa told him that he had succeeded, as their atmosphere had been restored. (Venom: Space Knight#3 - BTS) - Flash returned to his ship, and his "rumble suit" crumbled into pieces. |
Comments: Created by Robbie Thompson and Ariel Olivetti.
There are not images of the
Underdwellers without Wugin or Thompson in them, but I think it's
pretty clear who is whom. The volcano-headed rock people are the
Underdwellers, the snake-headed women are Wugin, and the human in the
environmental suit is Thompson.
It is unrevealed whether the
Underdwellers only live within the Great Eye or whether they are
present within other volcanos on the planet.
If so, it is unrevealed whether they are they isolated or perhaps connected via subterranean caverns
Underdwellers is the name
the Wugin gave them. It is unrevealed whether they have a different
name for themselves.
