History:
(Spy Cases I#14 (fb)) - Sweet Lotus was the lover of Ho-Shi, a grocer
in Kwahong who was sympathetic to South Korea's cause. Sweet Lotus,
however, had been sent as a Communist agent to control events in
Kwahong. She informed on Ho-Shi to the Communists, denouncing him as a
traitor to North Korea but offered to make him a wealthy man if he
would use his position of trust to betray the U.S. forces in Korea.
Lt. Doug Grant arrived in Kwahong with three fellow soldiers to install radio equipment in Ho-Shi's home. However, Sen-Shi realized that her brother had been swayed to the North Korean cause by Sweet Lotus and prevented him from turning them over to a Communist patrol. Sen-Shi warned Lt. Grant about Sweet Lotus and Grant decided to trick Sweet Lotus into thinking Ho-Shi had betrayed her by having Sen-Shi pretend to be a traitor and turn in Grant herself. When Sen-Shi brought Grant and two of the soldiers to Sweet Lotus and her North Korean allies, Sweet Lotus was enraged by Ho-Shi's absence. When Ho-Shi came to explain himself, Sweet Lotus didn't bother listening to him and instead shot him to death. A moment later, Lt. Grant and his fellow soldiers opened fire on Sweet Lotus and her North Korean allies, killing them all.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Sweet Lotus should not be confused with:
Ho-Shi was a grocer in Kwahong, North Korea. He was sympathetic to the cause of South Korea but was enraptured by Sweet Lotus and at her prompting agreed to betray Lt. Doug Grant to the North Korean in exchange for money. Realizing her brother was a traitor, Sen-Shi prevented him from turning over Lt. Grant and his men to the North Koreans and told all she knew to Lt. Grant. Grant had Sen-Shi pose as a traitor so that Sweet Lotus would think Ho-Shi had failed her. When Ho-Shi arrived to explain himself, Sweet Lotus angrily shot him to death with her gun.

Sen-Shi was Ho-Shi's sister and lived in Kwahong, North Korea. She was a South Korean sympathizer and worked faithfully to assist Lt. Doug Grant in Kwahong. She and Ho-Shi met Lt. Grant and his men when they arrived in Kwahong but she knew Ho-Shi intended to turn them over to Sweet Lotus and the North Koreans so she prevented him then informed Lt. Grant of her brother's true loyalties. Lt. Grant decided to have Sen-Shi pretend to be traitor and seemingly turn him and two of his men over to Sweet Lotus so Ho-Shi would seem to have failed her. Sweet Lotus killed Ho-Shi for failing to bring her the Americans and Lt. Grant and his men killed Sweet Lotus and her soldiers. Sen-Shi helped Lt. Grant and his men set up a radio transmitter in Kwahong and continued to maintain it even as more North Korean forces advanced to the town. When Grant dismissed his three subordinates to spare them from the expected battle coming to Kwahong, Sen-Shi remained with Grant to help him relay information to his side. Grant was injured in the battle over Kwahong but when U.S. forces advanced, Sen-Shi brought medics to Grant. After Grant revived, Sen-Shi kissed him.
