History:
(Marines in Battle I#1/4) - Lee-Sik confronted the U.S. Marines Iron
Mike McGraw and Sgt. "Gunny" Gorski. Wishing to collect a reward
offered by the Communist army for U.S. soldiers, she claimed to be a
South Korean guerrilla and used her knife to save the two Marines from
being shot by a Communist soldier. As the Marines were seeking
information on how the Communists were getting supplies to Chimney
Hill, Lee-Sik claimed she had discovered the secret and offered to show
them. Lee-Sik led the two men to the top of a peak overlooking Chimney
Hill and revealed there was a secret bridge that led across the hills
and above the river which separated them.
Having brought the two Marines near the Communist lines, Lee-Sik drew a gun on them and revealed her true allegiance. She led the two men across the bridge towards the Communists but Iron Mike suddenly grabbed her and hurled them both over the edge, alongside Sgt. Gorski. The three fell into the river. As Lee-Sik couldn't swim, Iron Mike offered to save her life in exchange for her gun. She surrendered her pistol and the Marines pulled her ashore.
The Marines noticed a large Communist patrol waiting near the river and Lee-Sik explained that they were going to head across the bridge under the cover of night to resupply their forces at Chimney Hill. At night, the Marines continued to guard Lee-Sik and forced her to assist them in sabotaging the bridge, removing planks so that in the dark the Communist trucks would unwittingly drive into the hole and into the river below. After several trucks had fallen from the bridge, Lee-Sik bit Gorski's hand and fled from the Marines. Lighting a torch, she attempted to wave down the next truck in the convoy, trying to warn them that the bridge had a gap. However, the driver was afraid her torch would signal a U.S plane and so sped up to run her over. As a result, the truck slammed into Lee-Sik as it went through the gap in the bridge; Lee-Sik was not only crushed beneath the truck but moments later, the ammunition in the fallen trucks went off in a spectacular explosion.
