brandishing a knife and claimed she was a spy working for their side.
Nita released them from their bonds and offered to guide them back to
their lines. Once Casey told her they were in the valley north of Kelly
Hill, Nita drew a gun, intending to shoot them both to death. Before
she could squeeze the trigger, Nita was shot to death by her father.
Comments: Created by an unidentified writer and Robert Q. Sale.
All Asian femme fatales owe a great debt to Milton Caniff and his creation the Dragon Lady from the newspaper comic strip Terry and the Pirates.
Nita had a shorter run than most femme fatales in these stories - she had just six panels from introduction to death!
Profile by Prime Eternal.
CLARIFICATIONS:
Nita should not be confused with:
Nita's father was a South Korean spy who was operating undercover amongst the Communists, posing as a colonel. He used the privilege of his rank to enable all the G.I.'s captured by his subordinates to be set free. When the colonel's men captured Combat Casey and Percival "Penny" Pennington, the colonel ensured that the two men would be kept alive and tied them to a tree. Nita set them free just so she could learn where their outfit was located, which she intended to share with the Communists. Before Nita could kill the two men, the colonel shot her to death then revealed to Casey and "Penny" that he was their ally and warned them their forces were about to fall into an ambush. Just as the colonel was putting up a prayer stick by his daughter's body, one of his captains intruded armed with a pistol. The captain intended to kill Casey and" Penny" then turn the colonel over to his superiors to be tortured. However, the colonel turned his pistol on the captain and the two men killed each other simultaneously.
