History:

strange-aethericdupe-docan4-creation1strange-aethericdupe-docan4-creation2(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#61) - When the Fallen sorceress Salome challenged Dr. Strange to reclaim the title of Sorcerer/Sorceress Supreme, Dr. Strange -- recognizing her and lacking the power to face her at this time -- conceded defeat. As he disintegrated, Dr. Strange told her she would not be an empress and would instead find that the role/title meant serving others.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme Annual#4 (fb)) - Dr. Strange disintegrated but then reconstructed himself, although he was bonded/contaminated with Salome's elemental energies (her "Dance"); he then traveled to a Null-Space dimension to rebuild his power; there he created his Forge Canal base.

In the moment of his defeat, Dr. Strange accessed the unpredictable stasis spiral, and everything except Dr. Strange himself froze in time. Outside of time and space, Dr. Strange left behind his Cloak of Levitation and molded chaotic energies/aetheric discharges into lifelike manifestations of aspects of his own power and persona, the calculating Dr. Vincent Stevens, whom he put to work developing wealth to investigate newer forms of magic; and the ruthless and powerful sorcerer Strange; neither being knew its origin, but both were also suffused with Salome's elemental energies.

Dr. Strange engendered these two "Strangers" with imprinted knowledge that he thought each would need, and he granted each a surface of character and a semblance of personality; Dr. Strange only used aspects of his own identity that he continually repressed.

Relieved of his burden, Dr. Strange then hid in his Forge Canal, leaving each of his creations as a machine that increased his power in the material world, which he could not directly access.

.

strange-aethericdupe-docan4-creation3strange-aethericdupe-docan4-lastpg(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#61) - Furious as Strange's arcane possessions vanished, Salome raged, but the aetheric Strange, embodying Dr. Strange's fury and destructive powers, then appeared and assaulted Salome, disrupting her elemental powers.

With Salome weakened and defeated, Strange and the others departed to confront the demon Zarathos.

(Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance#18) - Strange accompanied Blade, Blaze, Sam Buchanan, Stacy Dolan, Frank Drake, Ghost Rider, Hannibal King, Morbius and Vengeance (Victoria Montesi was pictured, but she had already been taken by Dr. Strange into his Forge Canal by this time) to the Cypress Hills Cemetery. Ghost Rider suggested that he, Blaze and Vengeance rescue Caretaker and the others...but Strange interrupted, instructing them that they all go together, as this was no time to divide their number. Nonetheless, Zarathos apparently sent dark magic out from the mausoleum that pulled Blaze, Ghost Rider and Vengeance inside before slamming the doors.

After Zarathos had seemingly slain Dan Ketch and absorbed Ghost Rider's powers, Strange and the others confronted him.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#4 (fb) - BTS) - Alongside Blade, John Blaze, Caretaker, Frank Drake, Hannibal King, Morbius, and Vengeance, Strange confronted the Fallen (Atrocity, Metarchus, Patriarch) in Glastonbury Tor, England as Zarathos watched from above (and while Sam Buchanan and Stacy Dolan watched separately). When Strange blasted Patriarch, the corrupt leader turned immaterial so that Strange's blast hit Blaze instead, after which he mystically teleported Strange away with a touch, noting his disappointment in his single minded brute assault (believing Strange to be Dr. Strange).

Returning, Strange then reanimated the long-dead soldiers/knights buried at Glastonbury and sent them against the Fallen. As they began to lose ground against their assailants, Zarathos had Patriarch teleport them Fallen away. While Strange cared not that the reanimated knights seemed to be truly alive and begged for aid, Drake used his Exorcist gun to destroy them. At Caretaker's advising, Strange teleported Buchanan and Dolan away, after which the others traveled through a Caretaker-created portal to the Blood's Nightclub base.

(Midnight Sons Unlimited#4) -At the Nightclub, Strange demanded further information from the Blood's Embyrre and Raydar, and Embyrre ultimately advised they seek out the lost Blood member Foundry, and Raydar led them to her temple in the South American jungle. Foundry explained that the Fallen were power batteries for Zarathos and taking them down would weaken him. She further showed them a sword Justicar that could kill the Fallen and discharge their energies, which had to be tempered by her blood/power/life.

As the Fallen arrived to confront them, Blaze and Vengeance departed with Strange via mystic gateway to Tibet confront Zarathos.

After Blade sank Justicar into the willing Foundry, the sword was used to slay the rest of the Atrocity, Metarchus, and Patriarch, the trio confronted the agonized Zarathos. However, Zarathos fought back, stunning the trio with a single blast, and Blaze realized he was still drawing power from somewhere. Strange sent a mental signal to Caretaker to this effect, and ultimately Embyrre (who had served with but renounced the Fallen) incinerated herself.

Strange and the others than attacked Zarathos en masse. Although Zarathos initially blasted them all back, they continued their assaults, weakening him until Blade could stab him with Justicar, rendering Zarathos a lifeless stone statue.

Caretaker then convinced the others to relocate Zarathos' statue to the Cypress Hills Cemetery atop a mausoleum, deep below which he forged the gathered warriors into the Midnight Sons. Strange informed the others he would not be leading, only advising, although he did bar Frank Drake from joining, apparently as he was too "human." Caretaker backed this decision, and Frank accepted, although he resolved to stick around, intending to prove his worthiness.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme Annual#4 (fb)) - To aid Dr. Strange in an eventual rematch with Salomé, Strange traveled the world to gather earthbound magical items.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme Annual#4 (fb)) - As Salome' observed remotely, Strange shrugged off Roman Carabinieri (Italy's elite police force) and penetrates a veil of aetheric fire that had withstood three millennia just to steal another artifact.

(
Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#62) - In Bucharest, Romania, a group of excavators, including Professor Cole, discovered the mystic item known as Oculus Oroboros. When Nathaniel Richards (posing as Dr. Doom) attempted to claim the Oroboros, Strange appeared, insisting that it belonged to him. As the sensors of "Doom" identified the energy signature/life force of Stephen Strange, Richards realized the instruments must be in error, after which Strange blasted him, claimed the Oroboros and then caused it to unleash the destructive Rend Eels. The Eels began to destroy the agents of "Doom" as well as (apparently) those who had uncovered the Oroboros.

As the Eels attacked "Doom," the imposter mockingly suggested his opponent spout some rhyming spells and invoke his sponsors to save the peasants, but Strange informed "Doom" of his erroneous judgment and threatened to boil the water from his brain with his aetheric fire. Unconcerned with the Rend Eels, Strange denounced "Doom" for abandoning himself in vain contemplation, and Strange's assaults threatened to shred Doom's armor. "Doom" further felt he sensed amusement from his attacker at the sounds of the innocents consumed by the Rend Eels and wondered who or what Strange was. After withstanding a retaliatory strike from Doom, Strange absorbed the Oroboros, noting "All earthbound magick belongs to Strange!"

Apparently sensing the true nature of "Doom," Strange's continued assaults forced Richards to disengage the neural interface for fear of not surviving another assault.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#63) - In Coober Pedy, Australia, at the ceremony of the Whole Moon Hawk, Strange arrived, unleashing elemental energy that drained the phone battery and destroyed the truck of scientists observing the ceremony. The elder continued the ceremony, and the Whole Moon Hawk (some sort of mystical energy bird) came into existence and assaulted Strange; energies unleashed by Strange during this conflict -- unwittingly or intentionally -- slew "Poindexter," a scientist seeking to protect the elder and/or claim the Blood Opal during the distraction. Both Strange and the Whole Moon Hawk looked down when the other scientist, "Flogger" held the elder at gunpoint and demanded the Blood Opal. Strange then confronted "Flogger" and was unharmed by his bullets, after which Strange watched as the Whole Moon Hawk apparently slew "Flogger."

Strange then told the Elder Singer that the time for blood had passed and that he would hear the song. After accepting another Blood Opal from his disciple (as the opals were actually numerous and of religious value only), the Elder Singer sang again. Cocking his head, Strange gathered "the precious rarity for which he came -- and fought!" (the song).

strange-aethericdupe-doc64cover(Midnight Sons Unlimited#5 - BTS) - As Salome observed Modred the Mystic and Wildpride plotting against her, she was interrupted by a summons by what appeared to be the aetheric Strange (actually an illusion of Strange created and controlled by Modred) to confront her at the Midnight Sons' mausoleum base in the Cypress Hills Cemetery.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#64) - Via the Anomaly Rue in Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange traveled to Dr. Strange's Forge Canal. Pulling the Oculus Oroboros from within his chest, Strange delivered it to Dr. Strange, who chastised Strange, noting that he had expected the Oculus hours ago. strange-aethericdupe-doc64-healingbisectionHe insisted Strange increase his pace as he (Dr. Strange) dare not slow his own. Strange further considered that there was one crucial artifact he had never prepared for, and he instructed Strange to deliver the rest and then leave him, as he (Dr. Strange) resolved to secure it himself

Strange then obediently tipped his head back and released the dry and fierce voice of the elder, emotionlessly singing the eerie notes of the Song of the Blood Opal. Although Strange requested that he be allowed to seek this new object, but Dr. Strange noted that it was in a politically sensitive area.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#64 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Strange contacted Namor regarding the Coral Crab., the existence of which apparently threatened the undersea realm of Aquaria. Namor, however, apparently refused to give up the Coral Crab to him.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#64) - Via her Skin of Necromancy, Salome' observed as Strange swam deep into the ocean and into a deep pit that contained the forbidden cavern of the Brilliant One; Atlanteans stationed there alerted Namor of the invader's presence. Unaffected by the pressure, cold and darkness, Strange's presence was sensed by the Brilliant One, stirring it to life. Magically sensing the Coral Crab, Strange claimed it from within the walls of the cavern and then headed back toward the surface, easily tearing through a net set by the Atlanteans' under Namor's guidance.

As Namor and other Atlanteans pursued him, Strange caused the water they breathed to evaporate while he stored the Coral Crab within his own chest.

Meanwhile, the Coral Crab's theft caused the Brilliant One to burst through ground, threatening Aquaria. Not realizing that this was not actually Dr. Strange, Namor attacked him and demanded he return the artifact, but Strange blasted him away, insisting that all Earth-bound magic belonged to Strange. Subsequently blasting the Brilliant One, Strange was bitten in half by the immense serpent, although his parts flowed back together; this caused Namor to realize that this was not actually Dr. Strange, although he nonetheless resented Dr. Strange for having sent this berserk creature to steal that which he had denied him.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#64 (fb) - BTS) - Having also appreciated Strange to not be Dr. Strange, Salome resolved to add Strange's strength to her own.

strange-aethericdupe-doc65-amorphousstrange-aethericdupe-doc65-decapitated.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#65) - After Namor attacked Strange again, Strange's mystic energies caused his hands to burn, while Strange began to lose cohesion for reasons he knew not. Strange was subsequently swallowed whole by the Brilliant One, but he magically forced an opening between the creatures and escaped, although he remained ignorant of the cause of his agony and lack of cohesion. Salome' observed as Strange resolved to seek out "the other" (Vincent Stephens).

While Strange flew over the East River, Namor intercepted and punched him; with Namor's rage mystically-amplified by Salome' (without Namor's knowledge), Strange crashed to the streets of Manhattan. The conflict drew the attention of Vengeance, who also believed Strange to be Dr. Strange.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Strange fired blasts at both Namor and Vengeance, liquefying concrete and steel. Salome' then channeled elemental energy directly through Namor, who blasted Strange, causing the Coral Crab to be ejected from his form. Namor then reclaimed the Crab and rushed back to the ocean floor to replace it and allow the Brilliant One to return to its slumber. Salome' was furious that Namor had not used her power to capture or destroy Strange.

Appreciating Salome's involvement and frustrated by his loss of the Coral Crab, Strange screamed and lashed out with elemental blasts that struck a nearby building. When Vengeance hurled a spike out Strange to contain it, he was surprised to see Strange briefly be decapitated. After Strange blasted Vengeance, he reunited his head to his body and prepared again to confront the other and resolved that he would destroy Dr. Strange if he interfered.

(Secret Defenders#15) - Within the Forge Canal, as Dr. Strange was warned of a mystic threat with which he had not the time to deal, Strange replied to let him deal with it. Telling Strange his duties lied elsewhere, Dr. Strange instead passed the responsibility on to Dr. Druid.

(
Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#66) - Strange watched in frustration from a distance as Xaos/Imei and Wong captured Vincent Stevens and transported him to Salome'. He stated that the other belonged to him and that wherever they took him, they would have to satisfy Strange.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#66 - BTS) - Dr. Strange transported Blade, Morbius & Vengeance to his Forge Canal. When Morbius told him that they had made a vow to work together, Dr. Strange told them that technically he had made no such vow, although he supposed he did, "in spirit." He further told them that he had been studying the manifestations Strange and Vincent Stevens, although he seemed to be somehow blocked from uncovering the origin of their magic.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#66) - With his new sanctum's geo-magickal boundaries acting as a magick amplifier, Dr. Strange blasted Strange as he flew eastward over the ocean. Initially, Strange flickered, as if his flame were being put out, but Strange subsequently glowed brighter than ever. Having reached inside the Midnight Sons' heads and seen the chaos the Strangers were wreaking, Dr. Strange considered that he had failed, although he could not understand why.

When Blade vowed to go after those demons (Strange and Stevens), Dr. Strange advised him that he would disintegrate if he physically departed his sanctuary. As he sent the others back to Earth, Dr. Strange encouraged them to go about their lives and to oppose Salome's evil, "but for the sake of all existence, whatever you do, stay away from the Strangers!"

strange-aethericdupe-docan4-vsalome(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme Annual#4) - As Salome' studied Vincent Stevens in her base in norther Iraq, Strange arrived and struck her, noting that something had prevented him from destroying her when first they met but that something was now gone. Salome' taunted Strange that he needed something from her, and when he asked her what she had to do with him, she told him, "Nothing -- and everything! Try to destroy me and find out!"

Strange was torn by his conflicting goals to oppose Salome', to deliver items of mystic power to Dr. Strange and to merge with Stevens. Strange apparently tried to pressure Stevens to merge, but Stevens resisted, after which Strange was driven to deliver Salome's mystic artifacts to Dr. Strange. Salome' asked Strange if he knew why he existed to oppose Salome' but to do so agonized him.

After Salome' detailed the Strangers' origins to them, she further explained that while they thought themselves to be independent, they were Dr. Strange's pawns, and that Dr. Strange and both Strangers were also bonded to her via elemental magic. She instructed the Strangers that only she could halt their progressive breakdown, and she offered that if they brought her Dr. Strange's skull, she would make them whole. However, Dr. Strange, who had been monitoring the encounter via Stevens, then attacked her through Stevens' form, driving his aetheric form as a computer drove a slave machine.

Dr. Strange then advised Strange to work with him, as it was their only chance, but refusing to accept boundaries or laws, intending to make his own destiny, Strange attacked Salome's base and followers. Dr. Strange silently appreciated that his reverse psychology had worked perfectly with the primal Strange. However, he also
considered that not everyone in Salome's camp was a violent fanatic, and he wondered how he could spare the innocent. With the militant dead or dying, Dr. Strange apparently guided the peaceful to being hurried new pilgrimages into the open desert.

Salome' subsequently attacked Strange, who was furious to find himself dissolving. Salome' offered him to merge with her, making them both stronger, but he refused. Meanwhile, Dr. Strange poured more power through Strange, accelerating the burnout in hopes of allowing him to humble Salome'. However, Salome' then unleashed her mystic power within Stevens and Strange, telling them and Dr. Strange that Salome was their only hope for survival. Agonized, Strange called out for Dr. Strange to do something.

Strange then channeled the power of Salome's dance within his own form to strike down Salome and to take command of the Strangers, channeling his full power through them both against Salome' as well. When Salome' reached back through the power to attack Dr. Strange, he severed all ties between himself, Salome' and the Strangers.

Pleased to achieve independence, Strange nonetheless contended with his own wildly warping form. As Salome' fled back to her sanctuary as defense due to her ebbing strength, Strange tried to force a merger with Stevens to restore their strength, but Stevens resisted, preventing their union, and Strange dropped him in the middle of the Iraqi desert.

After Stevens had used his telepathic powers to have his servants bring him back to the USA, Strange watched Stevens from outside the Tempo building. After Stevens' guests had departed, Strange magically pulled Stevens through the wall of the Tempo and again told him that if he wanted to live forever, they needed to merge.

(Secret Defenders#17) - After the Secret Defenders (Cadaver, Cage, Deadpool, Dr. Druid, Shadowoman) had thwarted the threat of Malachi, as Druid plotted on what to do with the Moebius Stone, Strange confronted him, telling him that he had fulfilled his role in this affair but that the Moebius Stone and all Earthbound magic belonged to Strange. Cadaver used the Sword of Bone to cleave Strange in twain, but he swiftly re-formed, repelled Cadaver with a blast and tried to claim his sword. However, the Sword of Bone rebelled at his touch, dropping him to his knees. Assuming Strange to be Dr. Strange, Deadpool attacked him ineffectually, and Strange blasted both Deadpool and Shadowoman back. As Cadaver attacked Strange anew, Cage recovered the Moebius Stone and threw it to Druid, who destroyed it to prevent Strange from recovering it. With the prize lost, Strange departed.

strange-aethericdupe-doc68-fullflystrange-aethericdupe-doc68-upperdramatic(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#67 - BTS) - Meeting with Dr. Strange in his Forge Canal and learning of recent developments, Clea advised Stephen that while he felt his "Strangers" had acquired his worst qualities, what if they also embodied his best. She further told him that the fierceness of Strange was what she needed at the moment.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#67) - Meanwhile, having observed while floating outside of the Tempo Building, Strange confronted "Jane," who had just repeatedly shot Vincent Stephens (presumably as an agent of some criminals with whom Stephens had been dealing), asking why she had done that to his aetheric other. She turned and fired several bullets through Strange, but he -- seemingly to barely notice -- asked if she intended to merge with and/or join her life with Stephens. Considering that she was not deserving and would not be missed, Strange hurled her out of the window, and -- if she wasn't killed by the impact and/or shattering glass -- she fell to her death on the sidewalk and/or street below.

Telling Stephens that an assassin's bullet meant nothing to either of them, Strange pressured him to wake up. Strange subsequently told him that he continued to counterfeit a human existence, the two of them would never merge and that they would instead terminate. Strange told Stephen he would not allow that to happen.

(
Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#68) - Strange continued to pressure Stephens, confronting him as he slept in his Tempo penthouse and reminding him that his weakness grew with each passing day and that he could no longer delight in the physical habits he craved. Although Stephens refused and tried to deny him, Strange continued to follow him.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#68 - BTS) - Seeking the means to preserve his existence without merging with Strange, Stephens was drawn to Mr. Azopardi, a man who had some luck and prescience abilities.

(
Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#68) - As Stephens drove with Azopardi back to his vault, which held certain mystic artifacts, the watching Strange was struck repeatedly with lightning (presumably as part of Azopardi's subconscious luck abilities), which both pained him and caused him to lose track of Stephens. Certain that Stephens was plotting against him, Strange searched the city and located a tower impervious to his keenest searching. This room, built by Azopardi at the very heat of a ley line dead spot, rendered all magic inert within its embrace. Stephens had unwittingly entered the room and was on the verge of discorporating when Strange smashed into the room, disrupting its power.

Focusing on Stephens and accusing him of betrayal, Strange's rage manifested itself as whipping tendrils of aetheric energy that lashed out around him, destroying everything they touched, including the Levant Rubric, a mystic tome with which Stephens had thought to stabilize his own existence. Azopardi desperately slashed at Strange with the Wakefield Falchion (a mystic blade), and the agonized Strange recognized the luck clinging to Azopardi and appreciated that he was the cause of the lightning strike. Strange subsequently destroyed Azopardi with a mystic blast.

Strange accused Stephens of plotting his destruction, but Stephens told Strange that he was planning their survival but then Strange had destroyed the book that might have saved them both in his blind rage. Stephens told Strange that he either could not or would not think or feel, and that if they were to survive, it would be from his (Stephens') brains. Again refusing Strange's offer to merge, Stephens ordered him to depart, and Strange flew away.
.
strange-aethericdupe-doc68-mergepolarisstrange-aethericdupe-doc69-discorporated(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#69 (fb) - BTS) - Strange resolved to find a being more deserving to merge with. Soaring across the sky over Yorktown (in Westchester County?), Strange suffered an episode of distortion and crashed into the ground in a wooded area. Appreciating that earth was not warped by his touch as he was a being of elemental magic (and he at least theorized that the elements air, fire and water were similarly unaffected), he felt that he may be able to recreate himself as the supreme force of magic.

Seeing a deer, he briefly considered merging with it, but he realized it was already whole while he needed something incomplete, like himself with which to merge. Attempting to mimic Dr. Strange's mystic gestures to access his memories, Strange was overwhelmed by pain, and he floated through the trees, discharging mystic energies.

Flying by this region, Polaris (Lorna Dane) and Forge of X-Factor's technology determined that this being's energies threatened to damage the Yorktown chemical plant and cause environmental hazard. Seeking to stop this threat, Polaris attacked Strange, and her magnetic powers liquefied him. Fearing that she had killed her target, Polaris apparently relaxed her assault. Sensing her emotions, Strange determined that she considered herself a mutant outcast, and he concluded that she was incomplete also, and he attempted to merge with her. Although her resistance made the process painful, Strange eventually merged their forms.

Having analyzed Strange's energies (and sent reports to Charles Xavier) and designed a nanotechnology weapon with which he blasted the combined form; focusing on reaching toward Lorna rather than protecting his own form, Strange was dispersed into colored energy globules.

Strange subsequently reformed and concluded that he needed to find a willing partner. As he departed, telling Polaris that while she wanted to sympathize with all beings of difference, he felt hypocrisy from her for rejecting him.

(Warlock & the Infinity Watch#36) - Seeking to acquire the Infinity Gems, Strange flew to Monster Island, where he rapidly claimed the Space, Time, Mind and Power Gems from Pip, Gamora, Moondragon and Drax. As he tried to take the Soul Gem from Warlock, however, Warlock used it to force Strange to sense Dr. Strange's memories that the Living Tribunal had decreed that the Infinity Gems could not be used in unison. As they were no use to him, Strange dropped the Infinity Gems and departed.
.
strange-aethericdupe-doc71-coverstrange-aethericdupe-doc71vHulk2(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#70 (fb) - BTS) - When Dr. Strange prepared to recruit the Hulk (Bruce Banner) for aid against Salome, but he aborted the telepathic summoning, deciding against manipulating his friend, in the process recalling the recent wedding of Rick and Marlo Jones. However, Dr. Strange's empathic connection to his Strangers caused them to sense his compassion for Bruce Banner and Rick Jones.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#70) - Strange sought out Rick Jones at the Colisseum casino, briefly transforming Suzi Berengetti into inhuman form before sensing and departing to follow an empathic trail to Rick. Strange confronted Rick at his hotel room, seeking to merge with him as Rick had previously merged with Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell). While Rick -- assuming he was dealing with Dr. Strange -- was less than willing, further negotiation was interrupted when Stevens, who had possessed the Hulk arrived. Hulk/Stevens smashed Strange into liquefied form on the beach, and when Strange unleashed an elemental blast against the Hulk, the Hulk was unharmed, and Stevens enjoyed feeling sensations he had been lacking.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#71) - Strange engaged the Stevens-controlled Hulk, arguing that this conflict would hasten their deaths, but the Stevens-Hulk proved immune to his attacks and instead tore Strange into shreds. Strange ultimately fled into the sand to escape.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#71 - BTS) - Rick Jones successfully taunted Banner such that he became enraged, which strengthened his will and allowed him to overcome Stevens' control.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#71) - Strange then used is Earth magic to stun the Hulk, after which Stevens evacuated the Hulk's form and agreed to merge with Strange so that they could survive. However, Stevens insisted that they do so at the Tempo as they would need his technology. Rick warned Strange that this might be another trap, but Strange accompanied Stevens, claiming to be prepared for either eventuality and that one-way or the other, this would be the final meeting of the Strangers.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#72) - Dr. Strange observed as Strange melted through the walls of Stevens' penthouse. He considered that he must re-absorb their energies before they disintegrated in order to save Clea.

(Midnight Suns Unlimited#8 - BTS) - In the future of Earth-950108, Strange -- under unrevealed circumstances -- served as the progenitor of a race of powerful magical beings known as the Kynd. These beings were warred against by the technology-based Clave. Unable to defeat the Kynd, the Clave instead accessed the Nexus of Realities to travel back to the modern time period of Earth-616 in the swamps outside of Citrusville, Florida, seeking to study and ultimately dissect magical beings (which they called proto-Kynd) in hopes of learning how to defeat the Kynd.

(Midnight Suns Unlimited#8) - With their magic-negating technology, the Clave captured Modred the Mystic, the Scarlet Witch and Strange for this purpose, little realizing that the latter was actually the Kynd's progenitor in their timeline. Unable to overcome the magic-negation, Modred advised the Clave that while they could learn more from himself and the Scarlet Witch via studying their living forms, Strange was not an organic being and would be perfect for them to dissect. As the Clave studied Strange and realized that he was their Kynd's progenitor, however, Blade -- who had been drawn by the Clave's attacks on various magic-users -- infiltrated the Clave base and neutralized their magic-negating technology. Strange began to vengefully slaughter the Clave, although as they struggled to re-start their magic-negation technology, he was wracked him with agony. Drawn by Strange's pain, the Man-Thing embraced him and absorbed/removed his pain. Strange then collapsed space-time around the Clave craft, sending it back through the Nexus of Realities to their own future reality.

strange-aetheric-doc75-merge(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#73) - Warping a hole into the Tempo, Strange met with Stevens, urging that he start his machines to initiate their merger, but they were confronted by Dr. Strange, who announced that the time had come to reclaim their magical energies. While Strange argued that they had made and deserved their own lives, Stevens tried to beguile Dr. Strange to believe that his protective aetheric armor was falling apart and used his own magics to create protective fields. Stevens led Strange to attack Dr. Strange to destroy his armor.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#74) - Strange was frustrated by Stevens' delay in merging, and Dr. Strange advised him that Stevens wished the two of them to exhaust their energies battling each other so they could enslave the victor. When Stevens urged Strange to the focal point to initiate the merging, Dr. Strange warned him that Stevens would betray him, while he (Dr. Strange) wished to reintegrate both of the Strangers into himself and would use their power to save the world. Stevens then activated his techno-magick, blasting Dr. Strange and liquefying Strange, who cried out that he only wanted to live. strange-aetheric-doc75-paradox

Dr. Strange's aetheric sword siphoned the energy that was uncreating Strange, painfully restoring his form. Accepting that Stevens had lied, Strange blasted his machines and then Dr. Strange blasted Stevens with the uncreation energy he had siphoned. When the fire prevention systems activated, Stevens' assistant entered the room, breaching Stevens' field, and Stevens degenerated into a chaotic pattern of aetheric static. Despite Strange's efforts to save him, Stevens remaining energies were apparently neutralized by the fire prevention systems. Screaming in rage and lament at being all alone, Strange unleashed a powerful energy blast that rocked the Tempo's penthouse.

Although Dr. Strange tried to assure Strange that he could still save him, Strange instead ambushed him from behind. Considering that Salome's dance spell was destroying Dr. Strange, Strange concluded that they were both doomed but that he would make sure Dr. Strange died first. Dr. Strange sliced Strange in half with his sword, but Strange reformed and then sent tendrils to penetrate Dr. Strange's armor and rip off his mask, which was protecting him from being destroyed by exposure to Earth.

A powerful explosion was unleashed, and Stevens' penthouse melted, after which Strange emerged triumphantly, claimed Dr. Strange's aetheric sword and announced that the was the supreme force of magic in the world.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#75) - When Strange placed Dr. Strange's aetheric helmet on his own head, it began to constrict, and the sword stabbed him as well. Dr. Strange then revealed that he had set a trap with the false helmet, and -- while apologizing for not having been a better teacher -- he prepared to reabsorb Strange. However, Strange fought back furiously, and when Salome' threatened to destroy Dr. Strange's power source in his Forge Canal, Dr. Strange had to confront her immediately. Appreciating that his errant creation deserved a chance at life, Dr. Strange instead sent Strange to the Dark Dimension where he could be a positive force and help Clea himself. Ultimately, Strange merged with Noble, who was dying from wounds at the hands of Dormammu. As the combined being Paradox, he then took Clea and flew her away from Dormammu and her forces.

(Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme#75) - Dr. Strange ultimately deceived Salome', draining her power until she withdrew her "dance" spells from him to restore her own powers. This allowed Dr. Strange to re-access his own powers, and he vanquished her. Dr. Strange then returned to Earth, no longer needing aetheric armor to protect himself.

(
Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#8: Paradox entry) - Paradox became one of Clea’s strongest and most loyal supporters, and he has remained in the Dark Dimension ever since

Nobel will get a profile in the near future. Paradox will get one in about a year.

Paradox had entries in the Marvel Legacy: The 1990s Handbook and the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z hardcover#8, which covered his existence as Strange in detail. It also suggested that Strange/Paradox’s status as alleged Progenitor of the Kynd suggests he might one day return to the Earth dimension.
