Powers/Abilities: Angela's body has numerous tendrils of tremendous tensile strength growing from her trunk and limbs. They exit directly from her body, but seem stronger and more durable than human flesh of that diameter would be. The tendrils compress very tightly, like psrings, and apparently wrap around her body, enabling her to conceal them with clothing. When last seen, she was 16 years old, so her powers can be expected to grow with age.
Angela has a good record from school and tends to be pleasant, but shy. She is not an aggressive warrior, though she risk her own life to save her teammates.

Height: 5'2"            Weight: 105#

History:
(Freex#5 (fb) - BTS) - Angela was one of a number of infants in a hospital injected by the woman known as Wetware Mary with nanotechnology derived from the Fire People, intended to create a race of super warriors.

(Freex#9 (fb) - BTS) - Angela's mother died when she was very young, and she grew up as her daddy's little princess.

(Freex#9 (fb)/ 2(fb)) - In school, Angela just wanted to fit in and be popular. She was nervous about the way she was maturing, but the boys liked it, and she liked that. Angela played soccer, but she never excelled because she never pushed it for fear of getting bruised and affecting the way she looked. One day after gym class, she began to itch all over and she noticed small tendrils growing from her shoulders. Angela got dressed and ran away before anyone could see what had happened to her, and she began skipping school. Feeling that she was unable to confide in her father, she began dressing large when she did go to school, so that she could still pass for normal. Boys were still hitting on Angela, telling her what a pretty face she had. Boys would kiss her, but would become upset when she refused to let them put their hands on her. The irony of her pretty face and what she saw as her ugly body caused her a lot of pain and frustration. Eventually--when her father sent her to a doctor--she ran away from home to prevent the doctor or her friends from learning her secret.

(Freex#1(fb) - BTS) - Angela was contacted by Michael (Plug) who told her where she could find others just like her.

(Freex#1) - Val (Pressure) became frustrated and smashed through their apartment closet, revealing Angela hiding there. Angela was confused and frightened and offered to leave, but Val tried to attack her. Angela struck back, knocking Val down, but only angering her more. Angela fled, but Lewis (Anything) caught up to her and convinced her to come back. They were then confronted by Michael, who had been the one to summon them all together.

(Freex#2) - Valerie initially attacked Michael, splitting up the group. Lewis again followed Angela and brought her back using his charm.

(Freex#3) - When Michael was shot by the police, Angela understood that he needed electrical power to save him, and she put him in contact with a neon sign. As they continued to flee, Angela was assaulted by the Lost Angel, who attempted to trap her within his realm. Angela resisted and escaped on her own. The team eventually regrouped and fought off the Master of the Hunt and his Bloodhounds. Angela helped break up the fight between the Freex and Rush, who had tried to convince Val to leave the others.

(Prime I#8/2) - Unable to sleep, the Freex discussed what they saw when they closed their eyes. For Angela, Lewis, Michael, and Val, it was how when they're powers surfaced their lives were changed; for Ray, when he closed his eyes, he saw little colored dots.

(Freex#4) - The Freex were again attacked by the Master of the Hunt and his Bloodhounds, and one of the Bloodhounds tore one of her tendrils off, sending her nearly into shock. She eventually rallied and fled with the others. After Lewis shared with her the surfacing of his powers with Angela, the Freex were taken in by the modern day hippie Ruby. The Master tracked down the Freex and shot Ruby.

(Freex#5) - The Freex managed to fight off the Master and his Bloodhounds, though Angela was terrified and did little to actively oppose their attackers. The Freex fled into the night.

(Break-Thru#1) -The Entity from the Moon bombarded Earth with a variety of energies. Val's mind was dramatically affected, and she sought to travel to the moon, releasing a burst of energy that bowled over the others.

(Freex#6) - After another outburst, Val lapsed into a stuporous state. The other Freex were duped into an alliance with Mangle, who led them to assault J. D. Hunt's estate and take down Hunt's robot guards in an effort to gain access to Hunt's son, Guy, until he was stopped by the Night Man. The Freex mistakenly fought the Night Man, and then fled again with Mangle, continuing the pursuit of Guy.

(Night Man#3) - The Freex followed Mangle's lead in pursuit of JD Hunt. Upon finding Hunt, they were attacked by his NuWare Wolves. Night Man arrived and fought the Freex loyal to Mangle and stopped the villain from assaulting Guy Hunt.
The Freex fled during the final confrontation.

(Break-Thru#2) - As the ultras on the Moon joined their minds and energies against the Entity, the minds of all ultras, including the Freex were joined with the group effort. Afterwards, the energies ceased, and the Freex regained their senses, though they refused an offer for further aid from the Night Man.

(Wrath#4) - Aladdin told Wrath that the Freex were a danger to society and sent him to bring them in. Wrath ambushed and defeated Ray and Angela, but was then confronted by Lewis and Val.

(Wrath#5) - The combined power of the Freex defeated Wrath, and they then left him bound in his own manacles to prevent him from coming after them again.

(Freex#7) - Lewis led the Freex to steal some clothes, which led to more in-fighting. Angela went with Lewis to try to check on Ruby, but they were forced to flee from the police. They returned to the others in time to save them from the Night Patrol. Angela disagreed with Lewis and joined the others in following Michael's plan to learn the truth about their powers.

(Freex#8) - Angela led the rest of the Freex to save Lewis from the Lost Angel, after which they were confronted by the Old Man.

(Freex#9) - The Old Man easily defeated the Freex, using Angela's tendrils to drop both her and Ray (Boom Boy), and told them that they needed a leader to train them. He then led them to escape another attack by the Night Patrol. However, Angela and most of the others agreed to keep searching for their origins on their own. After the Old Man was gone, they realized that Ray was missing (abducted by Contrary and taken aboard her ship).

(Freex#10, 11) - The Freex managed to track Ray to Mt. Shasta. The whole group was captured by Contrary and her Academy for the New Elite (Angela was KO'd by a single punch from Feline) who sought to force them all to join her. The Freex broke free, but as they battled Contary's young wards in the Academy, Ray announced that he had decided to stay with Contrary to gain an education. Cayman, one of the Academy, decided to join the Freex.

BTS - The Freex were again joined by the Old Man.

(Prime I#13/2) - Prime traveled to the Midwest in an effort to confront the monsters of the Fire People that had crawled up from their underground city.  The Freex were also investigating this--under the direction of the Old Man--and they ran into Prime while searching the China Lake Naval base.

(GS Freex#1) - After the standard fight of mistaken identities/motives, Prime joined the Freex and the Old Man in an investigation of the tunnels of the Fire People. In the depths of the realm of the Fire People, they found a number of statues with the appearance of the a number of unidentified superhumans, but also of what appeared to be the Freex themselves.

(Freex#12//Ultraforce I#1/2) - The Freex, Old Man, and Prime were attacked by several of the Monsters of the Fire People, but Michael located a group of headpieces that allowed them to control the Monsters. When one of them attacked, Angela used her tendrils to distribute the headpieces to her teammates, saving them from certain death. Prime returned to the surface as the rest of the Freex continued their journey, encountering the Guardian of the Cave.

(Freex#13) - An image of Prometheus appeared and proclaimed the Freex to be the Someday Champions he had sought to create. However, upon realizing that they were surface dwellers, he sent the Guardian after them again. They used their headgear to stop the Guardian, but unwittingly awakened the Savior of the Fire People. During a trip through the caverns of the Fire People, Angela had a romantic interlude with Michael. Returning to the surface, they were once again targeted by the Night Patrol

(Freex#14) - Contrary helped the Freex defeat the Night Patrol, and then Ray rejoined the Freex. They went back down to the realm of the Fire People, where they found the Savior breaking out of his containment. Ray forced the door to the Savior shut again, and he then elected to stay behind to hold the door in case the Savior threatened to break out again.

(Firearm I#15) - Rafferty told Firearm that he was going to kill one of the Freex, then beat him senseless and sabotaged his gun. The dazed Firearm stumbled after him and instead collapsed amidst the Freex.

(Freex#15) - Arriving in San Francisco back on the surface, the Freex and the Old Man joined forces with Firearm in an effort to stop Rafferty, the killer of Ultras. The Freex fought the Night Patrol again, but Michael was killed by an arrow to the chest from Rafferty.

(Firearm#15/2) - Firearm refused to allow the Freex to join him in going after Rafferty.

(Freex#16) - The Freex attended the funeral for Michael, along with the Academy members, Contrary, the Night Man, and Ruby. After the Freex had fended off another assault by the Lost Angel, the Old Man goaded the Freex into a fight. They defeated him, proving that they were now ready to stand on their own. They decided to head back down the tunnels and visit Ray. In the process, the distraught Angela found comfort in Lewis' embrace. They continued their journey, but they were pulled through a time warp.

(Freex#17) - The Freex arrived in ancient Egypt, where they encountered an early group of Someday Champions (recipients of the nanotech/wetware power created by Prometheus) as well as Rune (in the guise of the Priest of Amon-Ra). Val enjoyed the royal treatment, such as the luxury of  bathmaids. After over a month there, Angela began to suspect that she might be pregnant. The Freex helped drive off Rune when he attacked Analla (one of the Someday Champions).
The Freex then returned through the time portal back towards Los Angeles. However, upon returning they had gained a new member, AJ, whom they all remembered as if he'd been with them all along (in place of Michael).

(Freex#18) - As Angela expressed her love for AJ, Contrary tried to forge an alliance with the Freex. AJ recognized that she had ulterior motives and resisted her. As Angela shared a kiss with AJ, she realized that she didn't love him as much as she thought she did or as much as she wanted to. She realized that something was missing.
Contrary incapacitated the Freex  with a disruptor weapon that affected their helmets, and she then took AJ away to her citadel for further care.
Angela and the rest of the Freex (including Val and Cayman) found themselves trapped in the realm of the Fire People, and they heard the Savior stirring in his containment chamber.

Comments: Created by Gerard Jones and Ben Herrera.

And so, if we ever make it back to the Ultraverse (not likely), assuming the Ultraverse to not have the sliding timescale, there should be a son of Lewis and Angela (or maybe Michael and Angela), over ten years old. Maybe it would have some combination of their powers (though, with training, Lewis should be able to form tentacles just like Angela's).
