History: (Avengers West Coast#92 - BTS) - Kuroko, the Black One, arrived at Avengers Compound and claimed that Doctor Demonicus, Douglas Birely, had gone insane.
(Avengers West Coast#93 - BTS) - Doctor Demonicus explored a cave on Demonica, an island that he was in control of and when he returned, he seemed very different.
(Avengers West Coast#94) - When the Avengers attacked Demonica, Doctor Demonicus captured them and while they watched, he summoned forth the demon Raksasa, who claimed to have need of worshippers. Demonicus claimed that world outside the cavern was crawling with life and Raksasa explained that was why he spoke to Demonicus and brought him to the cavern. During the discussion between Demonicus and Raksasa, Mockingbird and U. S. Agent broke free and began a battle between them and the Pacific Overlords. Raksasa stormed that the "mortals" should have been killed long before his summoning and let loose his Demonswarm against the Avengers outside.
(Avengers West Coast#95) - As the battle ensued within the cavern, Morning Star and Klaw turned on the Pacific Overlords and Raksasa demanded that Demonicus finish the chant. As Klaw battles with the Avengers, his sonic powers disrupted the tectonic plates under Demonicus' base and the building collapsed, returning Raksasa to his home dimension.
Comments: Created by Roy Thomas, David Ross, and Tim Dzon.
The dimension Raksasa was based in prior to being summoned
by Dr. Demonicus was not named.
I think his name is based on Rakshasas, a name for a race of
demons from Hindu Myth.
