History: (Tales of Suspense I#23 (fb)) - An alien from another galaxy came to Earth when its vessel developed engine problems. It set down in the Florida Everglades and made repairs, then set out to explore the swamps. Unfortunately, it stepped into a bog and became trapped, unable to pull itself free.

(Tales of Suspense I#23) - The alien was found in the bog by John and Martha, an elderly couple on vacation. It pleaded to them to save its life as it was slowly sinking beneath the waters. John helped it out by bringing it some vines, and it pulled itself from the bog. The alien then rewarded the couple by restoring their youth to them with water from the Fountain of Youth. It then returned to its spaceship and returned to space.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Although John and Martha's memories were altered by the creature, you would think anyone else they knew would remember they used to be geriatric.

The tale of the Creature from the Black Bog was more or less retold in Chamber of Darkness#5 with the character Chalo.

John and Martha were an elderly married couple who took a vacation in Florida after retiring. They found the Creature from the Black Bog and helped it to escape the bog. As a reward, the creature used water from the Fountain of Youth to restore their youth to them, but removed their memories of being old so that they would not remember it.
