History:
(Great Lakes Avengers I#2 (fb) - BTS) - After befriending the hero Mister Immortal, Mike was paid by Mister Immortal to keep an eye on the hero when he buried himself alive with only a pipe to the outside world in an effort to get sober and think over his life. Mister Immortal made Mike promise not to let him out of his grave no matter what Mister Immortal said.

(Great Lakes Avengers I#2) - Mike came by the cemetery to provide water to Mister Immortal and commented on Mister Immortal's singing voice emanating from the pipe. Recognizing Mike's voice, Mister Immortal admitted he was ready to come out of his grave but a smiling Mike replied that it wasn't going to happen. Mister Immortal then implored Mike to see reason but Mike refused and suggested Mister Immortal open his mouth as he poured water down the pipe. Surprised when the water hit him in the face, Mister Immortal asked if Mike was trying to drown him and then thought that a drowning death wouldn't be such a bad idea. Mister Immortal then asked Mike to pour more water down the pipe in an attempt to get the water up his nose but Mike had already left the cemetery, leaving the unhinged Mister Immortal behind to talk to his cork Corky. Later, after Mister Immortal had died and revived, his former teammate Doorman located him and when Doorman prepared to get Mister Immortal out of the ground, Mister Immortal explained how he had paid Mike to make sure he stayed underground.
