Classification: Extraterrestrial (Kree) technology (robot)

Creator: Unidentified Kree scientists

User/Possessors: Crew of the Helion (Una) and presumably many other Kree

First Appearance: Captain Marvel I#1 (May, 1968)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: Mend-Meks are miniature repair robots, designed to repair Kree technology. They are apparently common technology among the Kree and found aboard vessels such as the Helion. They have the ability to speak but are non-sentient. They are also not capable of self-activation, requiring an individual to activate them; the robot's eyes turn blue when active. They have an apparent network access to monitor other near Kree devices but can be shielded using ionic interference.

(Captain Marvel I#1) - When Colonel Yon-Rogg confined his medic Una to her quarters on the Helion to prevent her from interfering with his secret scheme to have Captain Mar-Vell killed, Una went to the Mend-Mek in her quarters and activated it. She asked the Mend-Mek what the fate of Captain Mar-Vell was. The Mend-Mek answered that Mar-Vell was in battle with Sentry #459 on Earth at that moment. Una asked the Mend-Mek to update her on Mar-Vell's activities but at that moment Yon-Rogg activated ionic interference to prevent the Mend-Mek from continuing its observation. The Mend-Mek was left unable to access the ship's data.

Comments: Created by Roy Thomas, Gene Colan and Vince Colletta.

As it was in Una's quarters, I wonder if it had any particular medical applications?
I'd imagine it might, since "Mend" is even in their name. --Proto-Man
