(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29 (fb) - BTS) <10 years before the main story> - Having achieved vast power via the Zalkor, Count Abyss came upon Egolix-7, easily conquering it. To legitimize his claim, he took the teenage royal family member Maya as his consort.

(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#16 - BTS / Warlock and the Infinity Watch#33 (fb) - BTS) - Abyss transformed the Egolans into monstrously deformed slaves.

I was never really clear whether Egolix-7 was only the name of Maya's kingdom, or if it was the entire realm. The name Egolix-7 would seem to imply that it was a planet, like the 7th from its sun, but that's not necessarily the case.

"In the realm of Egolix-7"is very vague, but it makes sense that it would mean that Egolix-7 is a world in that realm...but that's not the only interpretation.

I'm really not certain what exactly happened, but it kind of seems like the restored Egolans were celebrating in Count Abyss' former castle. We never really saw a planet or, actually, anything beyond what seemed like a castle.

Count Abyss' fortress had dimensional portals to many realms that he had conquered, as well as that of the Zalkor, but we also know that Abyss was much less powerful away from his realm. I still struggle in figuring it out.

If Egolix-7 is a dimension, it seems to be almost like the Negative Zone (without the anti-matter, of course") with many floating worlds within a breathable atmosphere.

The identification "Egolans" for the race of Egolix-7 was confirmed in Darklore's OHotMU entry, if not before.

I don't think I had previously realized -- prior to doing this profile and the one on the Egolans that issues #33-34 were not written by Starlin. I don't know if there was some loose plot that was followed or whether John Arcudi just had the storyline dumped in his lap, and he resolved it as he saw fit.
