History:
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29 (fb) - BTS) - Maya was born to
the royal family of Teraxtola, the ruling clan of Egolix-7.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29 (fb) - BTS) - Count Abyss came upon Egolix-7, easily conquering it. To legitimize his claim, he took the teenage Maya as his consort.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29 (fb) - BTS) - Count Abyss wiped out the resistance movement on Egolix-7, converting the survivors into monstrous servants.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29 (fb) - BTS) - Maya served as Abyss' consort for approximately a decade.
(Warlock and the Infinity
Watch#14) - Maya listened as Count Abyss told her of his recent
discovery of the Infinity Gems, showing particular interest in
the Soul Gem held by Adam Warlock.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#23) - Maya contemplated the risks of following Abyss to learn where he periodically disappeared, but instead chose to remain seated, sipping her wine.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#26) - Abyss sent Maya to Earth to dupe Adam Warlock into drinking a powerful love potion to sap his will. He also gave Maya an antidote to the potion so she could drink it without harm, though the antidote was a farce as there was no true cure or prevention for the love potion. Maya materialized on Monster Island where she encountered one of the Moloid subterraneans. As she asked him for directions she was struck from behind and knocked out by a blow from Hercules (who was under the control of the Man-Beast and thought that she was one of the Infinity Watch). Her unconscious body was discovered by Gamora just before she was attacked by the Avengers.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#27 - BTS) - Maya remained unconscious as the Avengers and Infinity Watch battled until Warlock removed the Man-Beast's influence from their minds.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#28) - The still unconscious Maya was brought into Adam Warlock's chambers and placed on a bed to recover while the others wondered who she was. After the Man-Beast was revived, Maya revived and introduced herself to the Watch.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#29) - Maya began to explain her origins, using the Dance of Unreality to protect herself when Gamora tried to stab her after she revealed her connections to Darklore. Maya then met with Warlock in private, revealing her past, including how she had been sent as agent of Abyss. However, she also told Warlock that she was secretly working with the non-existent resistance movement of Egolix-7, allegedly brave freedom fighters dedicated to overthrowing Abyss. Maya proposed an alliance between Warlock's forces and the resistance; Warlock, having been at a loss on how to deal with Count Abyss, agreed to this alliance. When Maya prepared they seal the bargain with the centuries old tradition of a toast. Warlock told her he didn't drink spirits, but she convinced him to have a sip as the tradition was a strong sign of good faith and trust to her people. As Moondragon had scanned the "ambosia" for toxins and found none, Warlock toasted with Maya, and they drank the love potion. As the antidote was false, Maya was affected as well, and they both were consumed with passion and rushed forward, kissing and embracing. The Watch observed them kissing.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#30) - After
Gamora and Drax pried Adam and Maya apart, Moondragon correctly
identified the "ambrosia" as having been magically
altered (by the all-powerful Zalkor). Adam marshaled his will and
allowed Maya to be taken from him so that he could think more
clearly and plot a resolution. Meanwhile, Abyss took steps to
being the Watch to his dimension, where his power would be
greater than theirs.
After the Watch had exhausted their efforts to
overcome the Zalkor's spell, including summoning Dr. Druid for
help, Count Abyss sent his minions to Monster Island. While the
Watch battled his minions, Abyss himself appeared, capturing Maya
and bringing her back to his realm.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#31 - BTS) - Maya remained Abyss' prisoner as Warlock took the bait and led the Infinity Watch to Abyss' dimension to recover her.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#32) - Maya
tried to commit suicide to prevent her from being used as bait
for Warlock, but Abyss easily stopped her. She then stood by
helplessly as the, despite the assistance of the sorcerer
Darklore and his familiar Meer'lynn, the Infinity Watch were
easily defeated by Abyss, who then claimed the Soul Gem for
himself.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#33) - Abyss
forced Maya to work as his servant, taking food to his prisoners
while he taunted her with the fact that the powerful passion she
felt for Warlock was a farce. When she entered the prisoners'
cell, she found that Abyss had placed a barrier which prevented
her from even touching Warlock. She told them of Abyss' reasons
for wanting the Soul Gem, and Warlock and Darklore used that
knowledge against him, depriving him from the power of the Zalkor
and banishing him to a distant dimension.
Darklore returned Abyss' former servants to
normal, and Maya was named as ruler of Egolix-7, with Darklore at
her side as her king. The pain in her heart was evident in her
eyes, and the same was true of Adam as the Infinity Watch wished
them well and returned to Earth.
(Warlock and the Infinity Watch#34) - Maya and Darklore were wed, unknowingly observed from a distance by the lovesick Warlock.

I'm not positive whether Count Abyss' fortress was in Egolix-7, but it was never named as otherwise, was it? There was no mention of traveling anywhere after Abyss' defeat and before the announcement that Darklore and Maya were to wed. Maybe they didn't go back to Egol
