History:
(Daredevil V#16 (fb) - BTS/Daredevil I#604 (fb) ) <1408> - Sigismund von Luxembourg, King of Hungary, founded the Ordo Draconum as a militant Catholic order.

(Daredevil I#604 (fb) ) - They orginally used to protect the king's territory from incursions by foreign empires.

(Tomb of Dracula II#3/2 (fb) ) <1431> - Vlad the Elder took his infant son Vlad to Nuremburg where Sigismund inducted Vlad the Elder into the ranks of the Order of the Dragon and named him prince of Wallachia. He took the name Dracul.

<1438>Vlad the Elder betrayed the Order of the Dragon by making forbidden deals with the Turks and joining them in a ravaging expedition into Transylvania accompanied by his son Vlad.

(Daredevil I#604 (fb) ) - After a century the Ordo Draconum went underground and began to defend the territories against less ordinary threats.

During the 16th century the Ordo Draconum fought in the Vampire Wars.

During the 17th century the Ordo Draconum fought plague zombies.

During the 18th century the Ordo Draconum almost lost everything while fighting the Fjord Queens.

During the 19th century the Ordo Draconum faced off against vampires once again.

During World War II the Ordo Draconum fought Nazi mutates.

(Daredevil I#604 (fb) - BTS) - At some point a Van Helsing, one of their members, was said to have died fighting a yeti-demon in Nepal.

(Daredevil V#16 (fb) - BTS) - Unlike most of the militant branches of the Catholic Church the Ordo Draconum was not disbanded.

(Daredevil I#604 (fb) - BTS) - In modern days the Ordo Draconum ran watchposts all over the world. Father Jordan ran the watchpost in New York City.

When the Hand took over New York City, guided by their demonic master, the Beast of the Hand, Father Jordan assembled the Ordo Draconum.

(Daredevil I#604) - After taking their last rites from a priest on boar their plane, twenty members of the Ordo Draconum donned flying suits and guns and began battling the Hand across the city.

(Daredevil I#605) - The Ordo Draconum joined heroes Blindspot, Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Elektra, Moon Knight, and Daredevil, as well as the local police, in fighting and defeating the Hand and their leader, the Beast. Some of the members perished and Jordan realized he needed to recruit new soldiers. He started with Blindspot.

Comments: Adapted by Peter Gillis (writer). Reimagined by Charles Soule (writers) & Goran Sudzuka (artist).

The Van Helsing, who was a member of the Ordo Draconum, could've been any descendant of Rache van Helsing (excluding Abraham, his wife Elisabeth, their daughter Eveline, their great-granddaughter Rachel and the adopted Noah as their deaths had been documented in comics already).

The Ordo Draconum, or Order of the Dragon, has basis in actual history. King Sigismund is a real person and former ruler of the Holy Roman Empire. All 21 founding members of the Ordo Draconum were close political allies of Sigismund. Among later additions to the Ordo Draconum was Vlad the Elder, the father of the historical figure the the vampire-lord Dracula is based on.

I am surprised there wasn't done more with the Order of the Dragon before the Daredevil story.
