Powers/Abilities: Gordon Nobili was a criminal of mediocre talent with connections to some prominent crime families, including the Paguros. After undergoing Terrigenesis, Gordon Nobili emerged with purple skin, his head covered in spikes, and large white eyes. Possessing enhanced strength (killing a few men with his bare hands), Nobili took the name Lineage after discovering he could communicate with any one of his Inhuman ancestors, channelling their faces onto his skin and asking them about their memories. Upon activation of Lineage's powers, a kind of after-life realm seemed to exist within his body, or to be connected direclty to his body, where all of his deceased ancestors seemed to be trapped in a Purgatory, kept from escaping by demonic guards who could seemingly kill them if they tried to escape (though in at least one case, Karnak was able to escape this purgatory, fighting through the guards and bursting forth back to life after emerging from Lineage's body). The memories of Lineage's ancestors gives him a thorough knowledge of Inhuman history dating back thousands of years. Lineage can also question his ancestors, developing knowledge from their life experiences, but he needs to be able to hear them to access these memories. In one case, Lineage manifested his ancestor Monan, who was then killed when Maximus the Mad stuck a fork into Monan's face, which had manifested on Lineage's abdomen; Monan seemingly died and Lineage was left with a stab wound. Lineage also seems to possess an advanced healing factor as he has recovered from massive wounds (most notably when Karnak burst forth from him).

Lineage once bragged that a telepath who tried to read his mind perished, but this has not been verified. However, at one point, Lineage consumed the liquid of the Inhuman Codex (and absorbed the consciousness of the Capo into his own form for a time), which granted him advanced telepathy, the ability to fire energy blasts, the ability to turn off powers in Inhumans, and the ability to mutate humans and grant them powers, but these skills diminished when the Codex was destroyed.

History:
(Thunderbolts III#15 (fb) - BTS) - The Nobili family once had a strong reputation in the criminal community, but it faded over time.

(Thunderbolts III#14 (fb) - BTS) - Gordon "Gordo" Nobili ran a small crime family that included his sons Carmen and Joseph, but they developed a reputation as bumblers and failures.

(Thunderbolts III#14) - The Nobilis went to the prestigious and well-connected Paguro family, including Pops and Ferdinand, asking for help, but they were refused. When the Nobilis refused to leave, the Paguros asked other criminals to beat them in order to teach them a lesson.

(Thunderbolts III#15 (fb) - BTS) - Beat up and bandaged, the Nobilis tried looking for work with other crime families, but they were laughed at.

(Thunderbolts III#15) - Gordo met with his sons and they cursed the Paguro name. The Nobilis were grabbed by Elektra, Punisher, and Venom of the Thunderbolts, the "heroes" threatening them for information on the Paguros, but Gordo was more than willing to talk about them, despite the Paguros being considered untouchable by many criminal families. Just then, Thanos' forces attacked the city.

(Thunderbolts III#16) - The Nobilis ran from aliens chasing them, returning to the Paguro stronghold, where they offered information on the Punisher in order to get refuge inside. They warned Paguro that Punisher and his team were coming, but claimed they hadn't told him where to go. While Paguro armed his men, the Nobilis thought they could sit out, but Paguro said they were part of the fight. When Carmen tried standing up to them, he was kicked in the groin.

(Thunderbolts III#17) - The Nobilis stayed hidden as Punisher and the others slaughtered the Paguro family. When Joseph wanted to join the fight, Gordo slapped him, seeking to save his life. The Terrigen Mists blanketed them and the Nobilis were all transformed in cocoons, emerging as Inhumans with super-powers.

(Thunderbolts III#18) - The Nobilis began adapting to their new powers and appearances. As Joseph (middle name Raymond) moved his elongated limbs about, he realized he could paint with light, but just then one of the Paguros shot and killed Joseph. Gordon reacted in fury, killing the gunman with his bare hands, then Carmen realized he had super-strength. Tired of all the years of abuse, Gordon was determined to get revenge, and they killed all of the Paguro men around them. Carmen suddenly grabbed a gun and committed suicide, unable to live with his new appearance. As he grieved, Gordon was shocked to see his Uncle Louie's face manifest on his skin, as well as the faces of other ancestors, and he realized he could access his entire family line. Nobili began planning revenge on the Punisher.

(Original Sins#3/1) - Taking a bath and drinking wine, Lineage communed with his ancestors, learning about buried caches of gold, how George Washington hated cats, and hidden stockpiles of Terrigen Crystals buried when a past Inhuman civilization was buried by a volcano. A new relative showed up on his skin talking about how he'd been out walking his dog Raji before encountering a super hero fight where Black Bolt had declared war on the Kree, who'd been experimenting with mists on Earth. Lineage realized he could use this information to achieve power.

(Inhuman#2) - Nobili put a suit on and prepared to put his plans in action. He went to Attilan, where he was shown in to meet Medusa by Elejea. Using the name Lineage, Nobili tried convincing Medusa that she was failing at leadership, and he said he knew Black Bolt's plans.

(Inhuman#3) - To bypass Elejea, Lineage showed two of his ancestors in his own skin, Kovad (minister of court to King Perrus) and Floria. Medusa summoned Sterilon to read Lineage's mind, but Lineage convinced her that a past telepath who had tried that ended up dead; Medusa dismissed Sterilon instead. Lineage claimed he knew of a great threat that Black Bolt had been preferring, and then he led her to the city of Orollan, where Lash had gathered many Inhumans to serve him, including Mother Bones, Grove, Kacy, and Korvostax. After a brief battle, Medusa managed to pin Lash, and Lineage stepped forward, explaining that an ancient threat was coming and that they needed every Inhuman alive to face it. Medusa left Lash's people with a warning.

(Inhuman#4) - Lineage brought beers to talk to Jason and Inferno. He told Jason that he knew the truth about his heritage, and that his parents were in Africa.

(Inhuman#6) - The Unspoken briefly took over New Attilan, so Medusa and Gorgon had him imprisoned. They questioned him about Black Bolt's whereabouts, and the Unspoken claimed to know nothing. Lineage revealed he had a vial of Terrigen and wanted to barter with the Unspoken for information, though Lineage said he already knew where Black Bolt was.

(Inhuman#9) - Elejea welcomed Sterilon, Lineage, Frank McGee, Triton Ms. Marvel, Inferno, Gabriela Pertuz, Gorgon, Naja, and others to the funeral for Vinatos. Medusa shockingly entered, her personality having been inverted by a spell, and she cruelly flung Vinatos' coffin into the river. Later, Lineage was present when Medusa declared war on the humans.

(Inhuman#10) - Lineage advised Medusa not to go to war, but she slashed his cheek with her hair, reminding him who was queen. Later, Medusa returned from the United Nations furious at someone for betraying her. She initially suspected Lineage, but then turned her rage on Triton and Gorgon, then left New Attilan in a rage, abandoning the city.

(Inhuman#12) - Lineage watched carefully as Black Bolt defeated the forces of Ennilux in combat. In the wreckage of the Capo's ship, he pulled free the Inhuman Codex. Lineage then watched as Medusa kicked Black Bolt out of the city, leaving herself there to rule alone.

(Ms. Marvel III#15 (fb) - BTS) - Lineage recruited two new young Inhumans, Kaboom and Kamran, and asked them to bring him Ms. Marvel, a young Inhuman in Jersey City who had connections to a powerful Inhuman family line that Lineage wanted to manipulate.

(Ms. Marvel III#14) - Kamran apprehended Ms. Marvel and placed her in a cell. Ms. Marvel fought her way free, battling the guards, but she soon found Lineage on a throne, flanked by Kamran and Kaboom.

(Ms. Marvel III#15) - Lineage was furious when Ms. Marvel texted someone for help and ran for it instead of listening to his plan. After Kamran and Kaboom failed to apprehend Ms. Marvel, Lineage expressed disappointment in them, but he felt he had other ways to get Ms. Marvel's attention.

(Spider-Woman VI#10) - Lineage visited the Quiet Room bar.

(Inhuman#13) - Lineage accessed Eldrac the door, offering the immobile Inhuman a way to move around and hear music, treating him like a human. In exchange, Lineage sought a favor, for Eldrac to deliver Medusa to a particular place. Later, Lineage went to Medusa, who was flanked by Elejea and Triton, and told her that one of his ancestor voices had informed him that Black Bolt had destroyed a Kree facility; Medusa agreed to trust him, and said she wanted him to accompany her to investigate, along with Frank McGee. Lineage passed through Eldrac with the others, but then immediately returned to New Attilan, leaving Medusa and her aids stranded near Orollan, where Lash would find them. Lineage was in his room communicating with the Codex when Gorgon entered, asking questions about Medusa. When Gorgon saw the Codex (with Capo's consciousness in it), Lineage shot him in the spine with a handgun.

(Inhuman#14) - Lineage equipped Eldrac with a robot body, then the door went running for it, thrilled to be mobile again. Lineage soon rolled Gorgon, who was now in a wheelchair paralyzed, outside to get some sunshine. Holding Capo in the Codex, Lineage explained to Gorgon that he had access to perspectives on 20,000 years of Inhuman history, and he'd learned the true power of the Codex, then he consumed the contents of the Codex. Soon Iso rushed into the room.

(Inhuman Annual#1) - Wielding the Codex as a staff, Lineage easily turned off Iso's powers before she could attack him, then he used the Codex to speak into the minds of every Inhuman on Earth, saying it was their time to seize power. Lineage then used the Codex to begin altering the human genome on the civilians of Jersey City, New Jersey. Eldrac returned Medusa, McGee, and Triton, though Elejea had fallen in combat. Lineage used the Codex and was prepared to kill Medusa, but just then Karnak burst from Lineage's chest, having returned from the afterlife. Lineage survived, but Medusa separated him from the Codex.

(Uncanny Inhumans#8 (fb) ) - Medusa and the Human Torch walked by the cell containing Lineage. Lineage demanded to be freed, but they ignored his pleas, telling him he was lucky not to be extradited for punishment in New Jersey.

(Uncanny Inhumans#13 (fb) - BTS) - After parts of New Attilan were destroyed, the cells containing Lineage and the Unspoken landed underwater, though the air around them was secured.

(Uncanny Inhumans#13) - Triton and Maximus the Mad swam down and found Lineage and the Unspoken. Though Lineage begged for release, Maximus planned to make him wait.

(Uncanny Inhumans#14) - Maximus broke Lineage and the Unspoken out of jail and took them away from New Attilan in a boat.

(Uncanny Inhumans#18 (fb) - BTS) - The Unspoken, Lineage, and Maximus spent months living in a hotel room wasting time, interacting with humans, gambling, and eating.

(Uncanny Inhumans#18 (fb) ) - Maximus took Lineage and the Unspoken to a party where he mind-controlled the guests and made the police let them go when they arrived. Later, after seeing footage on the news of Attilan being attacked by mutants, Maximus wanted the chance to question one of Lineage's ancestors about the origins of Terrigen. Lineage scanned the relatives within him, sensing a Rundoc and a Rinduck before selecting Monan. Maximus made Lineage put on headphones and Unspoken leave the room while he questioned Monan, learning how to remake Terrigenesis, then he stabbed Monan with a fork and killed him. Lineage screamed out in pain and bandaged himself while Maximus seemed excited about a new plot.

(Uncanny Inhumans#18) - In New Mexico, Maximus gave Unspoken some Terrigen, turning the former king super-strong so he could break Triton out of prison, and he convinced Triton to help them.

(Uncanny Inhumans#19) - In Vietnam, in the South China Sea, Maximus had Triton, Unspoken, and Lineage jump into the realm of the Maw Queen, where they fought guards and entered a sea beast before meeting the horrible creature. Lineage whispered to the Unspoken that he planned to betray Maximus, but Maximus traded the Unspoken to her as her new consort, mentally forcing the Unspoken to submit, so he could get the Maw Queen's deep-eggs, the first ingredient in recreating Terrigen. Lineage felt terrible for the Unspoken, but Maximus revealed he could read Lineage's mind and knew of his planned betrayal. Lineage and Triton accompanied Maximus on capers in Madagascar, London, Tibet, and Niger, gathering ingredients (some of which Maximus said they didn't need, but he wanted to toy with them), before they met Banyan and Kludge in Mumbai, where Maximus planned to recreate the Terrigen.

(Uncanny Inhumans#20) - Lineage spent the following days playing poker with Triton and watching Banyan's old movies until Maximus revealed he'd built a giant robot. The Unspoken attacked with the Maw Queen aboard a giant sea monster, and a battle broke out that resulted in Maximus betraying and manipulating the others. In the end, Maximus claimed he'd decided not to rebuild the crystals.

(Inhumans Prime#1) - Maximus led the Unspoken, Triton, and Lineage into the Grand Canyon before Karnak, using Lockjaw, attacked, seeking to apprehend them. Lockjaw brought more Inhumans to the fight when the Unspoken used more Terrigen to transform and fight back, but in the end, Lineage was arrested and returned to a cell in New Attilan.

(Marvel Voices: Identity II#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Kamran stole an artifact, the Eyes of the Dragon, from the Five Weapons Society; he planned to use the Eyes to drain the life of Ms. Marvel and then transfer that life to Lineage. Kamran ultimately failed.

(Women of Marvel IV#1/4 (fb) - BTS) - Keeping track of Kamala and Bruno Carrelli on social media, Kamran and Lineage learned about their upcoming trip to New Orleans, and he realized he had a chance to spring a trap on Photon, who could provide him with a limitless source of energy.

(Women of Marvel IV#1/4) - Kamran lured Ms. Marvel into a trap, then Photon arrived and they tried to trap her in an energy net, but the villains were swiftly defeated and arrested.
