IBLIS

Real Name: Iblis

Identity/Class: Extradimensional (Daimon Hellstrom's Hell realm) demon

Occupation: Steed for Daimon Hellstrom

Group Membership: Presumably Hellstrom's Horses (Hegal, Malah, Zulum, others)

Affiliations: Alexander, Conan, Daimon Hellstrom

Enemies: Unidentified human traffickers working for Kulan Gath;
    formerly Conan

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Daimon Hellstrom's Hell realm

First Appearance: Savage Avengers I Annual#1 (December, 2019)

Powers/Abilities: Iblis can coat himself in hellfire, causing his mane and eyes to burn with unearthly flames. He is capable of traversing dimensional barriers, such as traveling from Daimon Hellstrom's Hell realm to Earth.

As a Demon-Steed, Iblis is likely a demon bound into equine form and forced to serve the wielder of the Satanic Trident. He also is likely capable of transforming consumed flesh into energy unlike Earth horses, who primarily consume grains and grasses. While not displayed, Iblis appears immune to Earthly needs such as respiration and warmth. Like other Demon-Steeds, Iblis is superhumanly strong, swift and durable, resistant to all but mystic injury (see comments).

Height: 5' (at the withers) (by approximation) (see comments)
Weight: 1300 lbs. (by approximation) (see comments)
Eyes: Yellow
Hair: Fiery yellow (Iblis' "hair" was actual flames)

History: (Savage Avengers I Annual#1) - Upon hearing prayers from a trafficked woman named Esme, Daimon Hellstrom summoned Iblis to his side and departed for Earth. Utilizing Iblis to arrive on Earth in the Brazilian jungles, Hellstrom rode Iblis into battle against the human traffickers transporting Esme. During the fight, Hyborian era barbarian Conan revealed himself, having been hired to take down the slavers, and attacked Hellstrom and Iblis, thinking them enemies. After Esme led Hellstrom, Conan and the arriving Black Widow to the traffickers' camp, Conan stole Iblis and rode Iblis into the camp, cutting down any slavers he came across. Once the slavers had been defeated, Hellstrom found that the ink in the sickle tattoos on the traffickers was mixed with foul blood and got back on Iblis, preparing to return to his realm to investigate the blood. Hellstrom then rode Iblis away from the scene.

Comments: Created by Gerry Duggan and Ron Garney.

Iblis' height & weight were approximated from the official height & weight given to Hellstrom's Demon-Steeds in the Hellstorm's Horses Marvel Handbook entry.

While not shown to be a demon bound into equine form, the Hellstorm's Horses Handbook profile establishes that as the origin of Daimon Hellstrom's Demon-Steeds. Many of his Demon-Steed abilities were not outright displayed in his only appearance but these abilities are typical for Hellstrom's Demon-Steeds and Iblis likely shares the same powers as other Demon-Steeds.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Iblis has no known connections to:

Alexander

Alexander was a former savings and loan banker whose soul was sent to Daimon Hellstrom's Hell realm upon death. As torture for his predatory banking behaviors, Daimon Hellstrom had Alexander, now degenerated into a demon, read aloud the prayers of those harmed by Alexander's former predatory banking practices. While Alexander was reading, Hellstrom sensed a prayer from a trafficked young woman named Esme and Hellstrom decided to answer Esme's prayers, ordering Alexander to continue reading as he traveled to Earth. Smiling suspiciously, Alexander promised to not only continue reading aloud, but also to keep Hellstrom's lake warm for him until Hellstrom returned.

Alexander was a demon capable of surviving in the intense heat of Daimon Hellstrom's Hell realm. It was unrevealed what other demonic abilities he might have possessed.
