History: (Savage Avengers I Annual#1 (fb)) - Esme, along with many other women, was trafficked from South America into America.

(Savage Avengers I Annual#1) - Upon arrival in the United States, Esme and the other women were lined up and processed into different vans, one sending them to work in a nail salon and the other, a brothel. While in line waiting to be processed, Esme was given an extra phone card by another woman, Mary, and Esme managed to thank Mary before one of the traffickers angrily reminded them that there was to be no talking. Noticing other women praying to the heavens for salvation, Esme instead prayed to Hell and her prayers were sensed by Daimon Hellstrom. Esme continued her prayers until Hellstrom showed up to attack the slavers. While the other women ran for their lives, Esme stayed in the van until Hellstrom killed the slavers (with the assistance of Hyborian era barbarian Conan and super-spy Black Widow) and once the slavers had all been either defeated or killed, Esme emerged and Hellstrom recognized her as the one who prayed to him. Esme then pointed out the sickle tattoos on the slavers and informed the three heroes that they were more women held captive elsewhere. When the heroes asked Esme to show them, Esme led the trio to the human traffickers' camp, where Conan slaughtered nearly all of the traffickers with the help of sniper Black Widow and Hellstrom from afar. Following the defeat of the slavers, Conan welcomed the freed Esme and other slaves to accompany him north, promising to protect them.
