History: (Nightwatch#1 (fb) ) - The villainous Gauntlet hired Warforce, a mercenary team assembled by the cyborg Salvo, to break him out of jail in the guise of recruiting his cellmate, the assassin Deep.

(Nightwatch#1) – Warforce hijacked a news helicopter and took it to Ryker’s Island, where they demanded the release of  Deep. Before a number of hostage reporters, Salvo made their demands, but he was interrupted when the vigilante Nightwatch attacked. As the prison guards tossed in smoke bombs, Salvo gave the order to execute the hostages. Nightwatch disarmed Tranq and Cutter, but Salvo blasted him, damaging his costume. Spider-Man soon joined the fray, and shielded the hostages with a web-barrier. While Nightwatch and the web-slinger took on Warforce, Salvo and Shell slipped away to the helicopter and escaped. As the two heroes took down the remaining mercenaries, the guards opened fire on the copter, killing Shell while Salvo escaped. Nightwatch soon chased down and captured Salvo.

Comments: Created by Terry Kavanagh, Ron Lim, & Al Milgrom.

Given that Salvo is connected to Morelle Pharmaceuticals, as are like 90% of Nightwatch’s enemies, I don’t think it’s implausible to suggest that the botched steroid experiment that empowered Tranq was a Morelle project.

It’s kind of hard to tell, but the Impakov Twins are dwarves.  And not, like, Asgardian dwarves, but little people.  There’s a man and a woman, I think.

Yeah, not a lot of good images of Warforce members outside of the main.  Shell is the woman, Tranq is the big bald guy, Cutter is the guy with the mask, the Impakov Twins are the two little people, and Salvo is the redheaded guy with dinky shoulder guns.

So Warforce is a mercenary team created by Terry Kavanagh, and it has a name with “force” in it, a set of twins, and also a member named “Shell”.  Sound familiar?

You know what's fun to say?  Warforce.  Warforce Warforce Warforce.

(Nightwatch#1) – Cutter and the rest of Warforce hijacked a news copter and came to Ryker’s Island prison, where they took several reporters hostage and demanded the release of the assassin Deep to join them. The vigilante Nightwatch quickly disarmed Cutter with his cape; soon afterwards, Spider-Man knocked Cutter out with a kick to the face.

 Impakov Twins

(Nightwatch#1) – Cutter and the rest of Warforce hijacked a news copter and came to Ryker’s Island prison, where they took several reporters hostage and demanded the release of the assassin Deep to join them. The vigilante Nightwatch took out one of the Impakovs, but when Tranq grabbed Nightwatch, the remaining twin drew a bead on him until Spider-Man clogged his weapon with a web-ball, blowing it up and knocking him out.

The Impakov Twins carry conventional firearms, and are hard to hit due to their small stature.

-- Nightwatch#1

Shell

(Nightwatch#1) – Shell and the rest of Warforce hijacked a news copter and came to Ryker’s Island prison, where they took several reporters hostage and demanded the release of the assassin Deep to join them. While the others battled Nightwatch and Spider-Man, Shell and her lover Salvo retreated to the helicopter and escaped.  Shell inadvertently shielded Salvo from the guards’ gunfire below; if she wasn’t killed by the hail of bullets, she was by the fall from the copter.

Shell carried conventional firearms.

-- Nightwatch#1

Tranq

(Nightwatch#1 (fb) )Tranq was the sole survivor of a botched steroid experiment, which granted him superhuman abilities.

(Nightwatch#1) – Tranq and the rest of Warforce hijacked a news copter and came to Ryker’s Island prison, where they took several reporters hostage and demanded the release of the assassin Deep to join them. The vigilante Nightwatch quickly disarmed Tranq with his cape; he grabbed Nightwatch and tried to hold him so one of the Impakov Twins could shoot him, but Nightwatch broke free of his grip and Spider-Man punched the mercenary’s lights out.

Tranq is superhumanly strong and durable, and carries conventional firearms.

-- Nightwatch#1 (1 (fb), 1

Deep

(Nightwatch#1 (fb) ) – An assassin for an unspecified Eastern intelligence agency, Deep was disavowed by them after a failed assassination in the United States. He was convicted and sent to Ryker’s Island prison.

(Nightwatch#1) – The mercenary team Warforce claimed to want to liberate Deep from Ryker’s so he could join them, but they were repulsed by Nightwatch and Spider-Man. The guards later informed Deep of their failure; he claimed to know nothing about them.

Deep is a skilled assassin.
