Powers/Abilities: Twigly is a massive quadruped
covered with blue-green grass-like fur and a number of rock-like
structures.
Her massive bulk provides her with
great strength and she likely has significantly superhuman durability
(although she can get splinters in her feet).
She was unharmed by a fall from at least several
dozen feet.
She can bellow and stomp her feet, at
least approximating song and dance.
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 15'-18' at the
shoulder); approximately 35' from nose (with neck extended) to tail tip.
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately multiple tons; difficult to
approximate given)
Eyes: Black with central white structure
Hair: Blue-green fur
Other Distinguishing Features: The
ventral surface of her neck, and possibly the ventral (bottom) surface of
her thorax and abdomen, is covered with scutes.
She has yellow, blue and green plates projecting
dorsally above the top of a brow-like plate.
She has feet/toes like a tortoise or pachyderm, with
superficial divisions for different digits without actual separation
between the digits.

BTS) - Obtaining the Infinity Space Gem (see
comments), Jeff the Landshark transported himself, Alpine, the pet cat of Winter Soldier; Cherie, the Flerkin of
Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers); Coal, the Spirit
of Vengeance-bonded cat ally of Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes); and Liho, the pet cat of Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) to the
space station Knowhere on the edge of the universe.

BTS) - Cosmo apparently claimed the Space Gem.
(Infinity Paws Infinity
Comic#3) - Seeking to provide some recreation away from Knowhere,
Rocket and Cosmo (Knowhere's Head of security) took -- via spaceship --
Alpine, Cherie, Coal, Jeff
the Landshark and Liho to an unidentified nearby planet.
(Infinity Paws Infinity Comic#3) -
Exploring the planet, Jeff, Alpine, Chewey, Coal and Liho frolicked in
what appeared to be a patch of blue-green grass. When the cats
sharpened their claws and seeming rock, Jeff decided to do the same
with his teeth, leading to a rumbling as the hill beast awakened and
confronted them. The terrestrial animals prepared for a confrontation.

Comic#3) - Instead, the animals discovered that the creature had some
splinter problems, and while Jeff pulled them out, Alpin, Chewey and
Liho massaged the hill beast, who moaned with pleasure; Coal made a
nearby campfire.

Comic#3) - When Rocket and Cosmo looked for and found the others, Cosmo
telepathically explained the creature to be "a living hill beast with
splinter problems" and that Jeff thought that her name should be Twigly.

- BTS) - Rocket, Cosmo and the other animals left this unidentfied
planet.
(Infinity Paws Infinity Comic#5 (fb) - BTS) -
Alpine, Cherie, Coal, Jeff and Liho were captured by the Grandmaster and imprisoned on
his lair/arena/space station.
(Infinity Paws Infinity Comic#5
- BTS) - Seeking their missing friends, Lockjaw the
Inhuman dog teleported Dr.
Shapiro, the hyper-intelligent cat with a mechanical vocal projector;
Lucky the Pizza Dog; Tippy-Toe, Squirrel Girl's partner; Black Cat
(Felicia Hardy)'s cats Irene, Lupin, Raffles and Simon; Gambit (Remy
LeBeau)'s cats Figaro, Oliver & Lucifer in search of them. After
they arrived on Knowhere, Cosmo detected their location and transported
himself and them to the Grandmaster's Arena, where the Grandmaster
captured all of them as well.

Comic#6 (fb) - BTS) - The Grandmaster gathered and captured a number of
other animals for his planned competition/experiment, including Twigly,
Alligator Loki, Bats the ghost-dog Lockheed the Dragon and possibly
others.

Comic#6) - As the Grandmaster related his plans, Twigly and the other
animals lost interest and fell asleep, with many animals sleeping on or
against Twigly.

Comic#7 - BTS) - Throg, the frog of thunder, arrived to save his
friends but was captured by the Grandmaster as well.
Twigly apparently did not participate in the first
shown contest, a race.
(Infinity Paws Infinity
Comic#8) - During a contest presided over by judges Beta Ray Bill,
Howard the Duck and Nebula, Twigly backed up the singing Jeff the
Landshark, bellowing and dancing, or at least stomping her feet.
 
During the distraction, Cosmo and Jeff stole
the
Grandmaster's Infinity Gems and teleported themselves and their
animal
friends back to Knowhere.
(Infinity Paws Infinity
Comic#9) - Rocket was surprised to open the screen of his chambers
and
find the immense face of Twigly filling it.
The Guardians of the Galaxy (Drax, Groot,
Gamora,
Mantis, Rocket, Star-Lord) and Cosmo bade farewell to Twigly and
the
rest of their animal guests; Jeff kept the Infinity Gems and used
them
to transport the group.
(Infinity Paws Infinity
Comic#10) - Twigly and the animals arrived in Earth's atmosphere,
above
a battle between the Avengers (Black Widow, Captain America,
Captain
Marvel, Iron Man, Thor), Dr. Strange, Ghost
Rider, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel and other forces including Abomination,
A.I.M., Amora the Enchantress, MODOK and the Wrecking Crew.
Twigly
landed on top of the Abomination, MODOK and a number of AIM
agents,
trapping them beneath her bulk.
The other animals helped defeat the
villains, some of whom fled elsewhere via Amora's mystic portal,
and the
heroes greeted the animals. |

My instinct would be to write off the whole story to
some alternate reality...there are elements of the Marvel Cinematic
Universe, like the flesh-tone, inhuman appearance of Mantis...there are
things that are a little off, like the Infinity Gems (which are called
Infinity Stones in the MCU, and then they all went from gems to stones
in Reality-616, too) being in possession of the Grandmaster...and being
gems instead of stones in the face of otherwise very modern continuity,
such as many of the animals seen in this story...
Maybe it's some all ages continuity...
However, it was mostly just a lighter
version/digital comics adaptation of events that happened in
Reality-616, and whoever adapted it just got a few details wrong...so
perhaps a version of the story occurred in Reality-616.
This profile was
completed 08/08/2026, but
its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th
anniversary 's celebratory event.
