History:
(Edge of Spider-Verse IV#1 / 3 (fb) - BTS) - Earth-2099's Spider-Man 2099 and Earth-616's Madame Web discussed the hypothetical pros and cons of founding a Multiversal group of Spider-themed heroes that they nicknamed the Spider-Society.

(Edge of Spider-Verse IV#1 / 3 - BTS / Web of Spider-Man III#1 / 9 (fb) - BTS) - When she sensed a future event speeding towards the present time and perhaps even already occurring, Madame Web summoned Spider-Man 2099 to Earth-616's New York, where she mentioned that it was time to talk about actually starting the Spider-Society. Spider-Man 2099 questioned whether it had to be done now, as they were both still in the pros and cons stage of creating the Spider-Society but Madame Web warned that they may already be out of time based on what her precognitive senses were telling her. She then explained that whatever was coming would be targeting the most powerful Spider-totems and that they needed to form the Spider-Society from Spider-heroes that the threat would not expect. Commenting that they needed a Spider-Society that the threat would never see coming, Madame Web suggested recruiting Earth-982's Spider-Girl, Earth-616's Arana and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), Earth-8311's Spider-Ham, Earth-65's Ghost-Spider, Earth-1610's Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Earth-194's Night-Spider, Earth-138's Spider-Punk, Earth-72's Weapon VIII, Earth-834's Spider-UK and Earth-71490's Web-Weaver. Realizing that he could choose his own team for the Spider-Society, Spider-Man 2099 passed on Spider-Ham and questioned who Weapon VIII even was. Madame Web replied that Weapon VIII was a long story and Spider-Man 2099 opted to copy profiles on Madame Web's suggestions to review later and when Madame Web insisted that time was something they didn't have, Spider-Man 2099 replied that he understood the urgency and assured Madame Web that he would have his choice of roster by the next morning. Madame Web explained that she trusted Spider-Man 2099 to come up with the Spider-Society roster as he promised and expressed concern that the threat she sensed was not already present before departing. Spider-Man 2099 then monologued about creating his own "fantasy football draft" for the Spider-Society before he was attacked from the shadows by the Multiversal Sinister Squadron. Once Spider-Man 2099 was down, the Squadron's Lady Octopus gloated about how they had taken down one of the Spider-Society before the group could even gather together. Earth-31's Kraven the Hunter-Spider commented back that while the Spider-Society would nonetheless still form, they would not stand a chance against them. The Squadron's Goblin also chimed in that even a society would fall against an army.

(Web of Spider-Man III#1 / 9 - BTS) - After escaping the Sinister Squadron, Spider-Man 2099 was pursued by the Squadron's Goblin and while dodging the Goblin, Spider-Man 2099 thought back to how he had gotten in the situation and how Madame Web had asked him to choose the founding members of the Spider-Society. As he battled the Goblin, Spider-Man 2099 continued to think of who he would like to recruit into the proposed Spider-Society, with Earth-616's Arana first coming to mind followed by Earth-616's Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew). Thinking of Earth-8311's Spider-Ham, Spider-Man 2099 admitted to himself his disbelief that Madame Web would have even suggested Spider-Ham, though he wished for any help against the Goblin. He soon realized he would need backup and attempted to escape, thinking that perhaps he needed to get the Spider-Society up and running faster than he initially thought.

(Edge of Spider-Verse IV#4 / 3 (fb) - BTS) - With Spider-Man 2099 off the board, Madame Web tasked Earth-616's Arana to continue the mission of gathering together the Spider-Society.

(Edge of Spider-Verse IV#4 / 3) - As part of her recruitment drive for the Spider-Society, Arana visited Earth-72, interrupting a battle between the spider-totem Weapon VIII and the Black Widow, who sought Weapon VIII for Russia. Helping defeat the Black Widow, Arana explained how a large threat was looming for all Multiversal spider-totems and how they needed as many spider-totems as possible to stop the threat, also revealing how Madame Web had tasked her with recruiting in Spider-Man 2099's absence. Despite both his handlers and the Black Widow trying to keep Weapon VIII from leaving the scene, Weapon VIII ultimately agreed to join Arana in an effort to make his own decisions and together, they departed Earth-72 to regroup with the rest of the Spider-Society.

(Spider-Boy I#9 (fb) - BTS) - The Spider-Society took to basing themselves out of the Simms Building in Earth-616's New York.

(Spider-Boy I#9) - Feeling as if his prior existence being forgotten was becoming a serious problem, the young Spider-Boy of Earth-616 visited Arana at the Spider-Society's headquarters and begged for her to fix the problem of him being forgotten. Arana explained that the Spider-Society was currently helping another spider-hero at the moment but nonetheless asked what the problem was. When Spider-Boy  claimed that Arana had restored his existence incorrectly before, causing his prior existence to be forgotten, Madame Web showed Spider-Boy a glimpse of the Multiverse and all of the other spider-totems within it, informing the boy of the Spider-Society's mission to protect the great web of spider-heroes. Arana then explained how Spider-Boy's thread on the great web had come loose and they had restored it as best they could before remarking on how the Spider-Society was currently in the process of trying to help Spider-Duck. When Spider-Boy questioned whether "Spider-Duck" was truly a spider-totem or if it was simply Howard the Duck attempting to mooch off the Spider-Society's free food, "Spider-Duck" was exposed as Howard the Duck as Spider-Boy had suggested and the Spider-Society kicked Howard to the curb. Arana then questioned how the precognitive Madame Web did not sense Howard's ruse as Silk assured Spider-Boy that he now had the Spider-Society's full attention. After reiterating how Spider-Boy had been restored, the Spider-Society admitted that they did still have the artifacts necessary for Arana to attempt to perform a spell to properly restore Spider-Boy and Spider-Boy assisted in determining the order in which the artifacts should be used before readily agreeing to allow Arana to perform the spell a second time. The spell deposited Spider-Boy into the great web itself and he fell through the Multiverse with the Spider-Society determined to bring him back to Earth-616. When the Spider-Society accidentally pulled Spider-Man-51778 from the Multiverse with Spider-Boy replacing him, they guided Spider-Boy on defeating Spider-Man-51778's foe, King Bowler. Upon King Bowler's defeat, the Spider-Society managed to sync Spider-Man-51778 back to his proper reality but only succeeded in shunting Spider-Boy into another reality.

(Spider-Boy I#10) - The Spider-Society feared Spider-Boy had become lost in the Multiverse until Earth-67's Spider-Man appeared in their headquarters, cluing the Spider-Society in to where Spider-Boy had wound up. When the Green Goblin showed up to threaten J. Jonah Jameson on Earth-67, the Spider-Society put Earth-67's Peter Parker in mental contact with Spider-Boy, who defeated the Goblin, only to be shunted to Earth-51914. The Spider-Society quickly synced the Earth-51914 Spider-Man's mind to Spider-Boy's long enough for Spider-Boy to defeat Spider-Man's foe Hotshot before Spider-Boy was again shunted to another reality. Arana then asked the Spider-Society how Earth-51914's Spider-Man could be there when he had been killed by Earth-001's Morlun and Silk reminded Arana that those killed by Morlun had been restored during their last encounter with Morlun, inspiring Arana to try pulling Spider-Boy along the Multiversal Great Web rather than outright plucking him from it. Arana then cast a spell in an attempt to remove Spider-Boy from the Multiverse by pulling him through the Multiverse but the spell resulted in their connection to Spider-Boy being severed. Suspecting they would need a spider-totem with multiple connections to the Great Web, Madame Web rushed off, promising to return shortly, as the Spider-Society tried to determine which reality Spider-Boy had now been shunted to. Silk and Arana soon located Spider-Boy shortly after a very brief jaunt to Earth-982 and they found him spiraling towards the edge of the Multiverse. Madame Web soon returned with Earth-616's Spider-Man, who agreed to donate Multiversal threads of his own life to restore Spider-Boy. Arana then cast a spell that sacrificed Spider-Man-616's memories of the additional life he had once led while severed from the Great Web himself to restore Spider-Boy, bringing him from Earth-92131 back home to Earth-616. Spider-Boy soon discovered that Spider-Man and the Spider-Society remembered him with his restoration but Madame Web warned Spider-Boy that getting what he wanted always came with a cost.

(Spider-Society I#1) - Earth-65's Ghost-Spider was visited Earth-1610's Spider-Man (Miles Morales) on Earth-616 when they both received a summons from the Spider-Society's Madame Web. The two swung off towards the Simms Building, unaware the Sinister Squadron was gloating about their spy within the Spider-Society. Upon arrival at the Simms Building, Ghost-Spider and Miles discovered that the rest of the now-much-larger Spider-Society had been waiting for hours for Madame Web to arrive and explain why the Spider-Society had been assembled. Eventually, Earth-332's Spider-Woman arrived and expressed an interest in getting the meeting underway, only to quickly realize that none of the Spider-Society had seen Madame Web. As the Spider-Society began to grow suspicious that not only Madame Web, but Spider-Man-616, Arana and Spider-Man 2099 were all missing, an injured Arana appeared and weakly announced that Spider-Man 2099 had been captured. She then managed to warn the Spider-Society about the Sinister Squadron seconds before the Squadron arrived in the Simms Building. The Squadron's Green Goblin reminded the rest of the Sinister Squadron that the Spider-Society was to be brought in alive as the Squadron fiercely attacked the Spider-Society. While the rest of the Squadron kept the Spider-Society busy, the Green Goblin attempted to capture both Ghost-Spider and Miles Morales but Madame Web showed up to confront the Goblin.

(Spider-Society I#3 (fb)) - The Green Goblin successfully captured Miles Morales-1610 as other members of the Spider-Society fell to the Sinister Squadron.

(Spider-Society I#1) - The Goblin deadened Madame Web's ability to see the future and Arana managed to save Madame Web from the Goblin. Madame Web then guided Arana to retreat to save specific members of the Spider-Society chosen by Web before the Sinister Squadron could get to them. After a reluctant Arana helped rescue Earth-194's Night-Spider, Spider-Cat, Earth-31's Kraven the Hunter-Spider, Earth-71490's Web-Weaver, Earth-54202's Spider-Ramen, Earth-72's Weapon VIII, Earth-138's Spider-Punk and Earth-332's Spider-Woman, leaving the rest of the Spider-Society to be captured, Madame Web revealed how her deadened powers were preventing her to determining any information on the Sinister Squadron.

(Spider-Society I#3 (fb)) - From the nearby rooftop where they had escaped to, the remaining Spider-Society watched as the Sinister Squadron continued battling the falling Spider-Society members that were left behind despite Arana's protests at leaving her teammates.

(Spider-Society I#2 (fb)) - The Sinister Squadron captured the Spider-Society members not saved by Arana, including Ghost-Spider-65, while other members of the Sinister Squadron began going after the Spider-Society's loved ones or counterparts thereof.

(Spider-Society I#1) - When Arana suggested the remaining Spider-Society members go on the offensive against the Squadron, Madame Web suggested they instead go underground. Revealing that she was late to the Spider-Society meeting due to having discovered where the captured Spider-Man 2099 was being held and how important he was to the downfall of the Sinister Squadron, Madame Web rallied the remaining Spider-Society members and tasked them with rescuing Spider-Man 2099. Arana soon led most of the remaining Spider-Society on a search and rescue mission for Spider-Man 2099, finding him on Earth-42 being tortured by Earth-2099's Halloween Jack on behalf of the Sinister Squadron for the secrets he possessed. Spider-Man 2099 quickly ordered the confused Arana and the Spider-Society to leave and when Arana ordered Kraven the Hunter-Spider to take out Halloween Jack, Kraven refused. Spider-Man 2099 broke free and grabbed Halloween Jack, revealing to the Spider-Society that they had been led into a trap and that Kraven the Hunter-Spider was a spy working for the Sinister Squadron. Kraven then attacked Arana as the rest of the Sinister Squadron approached from outside.

(Spider-Society I#2) - Members of the Sinister Squadron began to approach the Spider-Society as Spider-Man 2099 battled Halloween Jack. During the battle, Kraven the Hunter-Spider attacked Web-Weaver and the rest of the Spider-Society and shortly after Kraven was defeated, the Spider-Society realized that the Sinister Squadron were started to break into the building. Arana sent Web-Weaver and Weapon VIII to engage the Squadron while Spider-Man 2099 attempted to hack into the Squadron's computer systems for intel. Eventually, Arana, Spider-Woman-332 and Spider-Punk joined in to assist Web-Weaver and Weapon VIII in an effort to buy Spider-Man 2099 more time. Spider-Man 2099 soon managed to hack into the Sinister Squadron's comm channels and he had Spider-Cat screech into the comms, downing the Sinister Squadron and buying the Spider-Society time to escape Earth-42. As they escaped, the Sinister Squadron's leader, Earth-24122's Madame Web visited Earth-616's Simms Building, where the Squadron's Green Goblin had captured Spider-UK-834, Silk-616, Spider-Man-1610, Ghost-Spider-65, Spider-Rex-66, Spider-Woman-616. Gloating that taking Ghost-Spider and Spider-Man-1610 off the board would only increase the Squadron's power, Earth-24122's Madame Web asked Green Goblin about the status of the rest of the Spider-Society, to which the Goblin replied that it was only a matter of time. Sensing the truth, Madame Web accused Green Goblin of lying, revealing how the Spider-Society had escaped with Spider-Man 2099, and when Ghost-Spider gloated about her teammates' escape, Madame Web revealed the captive loved ones in an effort to shut the heroes up.

    The remaining Spider-Society members soon made their way to one of their Madame Web's safe houses, where Spider-Man 2099 learned from the Sinister Squadron's computers that they had captured some of their loved ones from across the Multiverse. Before the Spider-Society could become too upset, Madame Web-616 reminded them that they had to work to do and sent Arana, Weapon VIII, Spider-Punk and Web-Weaver to Web-Weaver's home reality of Earth-71490 to acquire the thread of the Great Web of Life and Destiny that Web-Weaver had there for safekeeping while Web herself and Spider-Man 2099 attempted to determine why the Sinister Squadron was so intent on capturing him. When the Spider-Society agents arrived at Earth-71490's Ravencroft Institute, they found themselves against facing the Sinister Squadron and they were all quickly downed. Revealing herself to be a counterpart of May Parker, the Squadron's Madame Web had the Squadron gather up most of the unconscious Spider-Society and Squadron member Vermin acquired the thread of the Great Web from Ravencroft before the Squadron departed Earth-71490 with their captives, unaware that Weapon VIII had escaped capture.

(Spider-Society I#3) - The captured Spider-Society were taken to a cell by the Sinister Squadron and Ghost-Spider-65 and Spider-Man-1610 were soon thrown in the same cell with their Spider-Society teammates. As Ghost-Spider revealed that the Sinister Squadron had found Spider-Man 2099 and Earth-616's Madame Web, the two remaining Spider-Society members were on Earth-2099 still trying to determine why the Sinister Squadron wanted Spider-Man 2099 out of commission. Madame Web sensed that the Spider-Society was in trouble mere moments before Earth-2099's Travesty attacked them on behalf of the Sinister Squadron. While Travesty apprehended Spider-Man 2099 and Madame Web, the rest of the captured Spider-Society were discussing their predicament and Web-Weaver asked Ghost-Spider what she would if she were the Green Goblin, to which Ghost-Spider admitted she burn the Squadron's entire operation to the ground. At that same moment, the Squadron's Green Goblin, tiring of following the orders of the Earth-24122's Madame Web, disabled the security protocol for the newly-captured Weapon VIII. Weapon VII then escaped, taking down the Squadron's Hobgoblin and Silvio while Spider-Woman-332 short-circuited her power-dampening collar and freed her Spider-Society teammates. Finding their way to regroup with Weapon VIII, the Spider-Society took down the individual members of the Sinister Squadron but when Arana confronted the Squadron's Madame Web, she gloated that the Spider-Society had already lost and with the Spider-Society fallen, the entire Multiverse would soon kneel before her.

(Spider-Society I#4) - When the Sinister Squadron's Madame Web revealed the captured Spider-Man 2099, Madame Web-616 and Spider-Man-616, Arana's ragtag group of remaining Spider-Society members confronted her and Spider-Punk, tired of the Squadron, attacked Madame Web on his own. Web easily downed Spider-Punk, igniting a fierce battle between the Spider-Society and the Sinister Squadron, during Madame Web revealed his origins and how she had secretly arranged certain events to help create the members of her Sinister Squadron. Deducing that Madame Web was inadvertently destroying the Multiverse as she siphoned the Great Web's energies, the still-captive Spider-Man 2099 had his digital assistant Lyla communicate with Arana and explain the situation, prompting Arana to rally the Spider-Society to take out the device Madame Web was using the siphon the Great Web's energies. Confronting Madame Web once more, Arana hurled Spider-Cat into her face, distracting her while Weapon VIII and Web-Weaver attempted to disable Madame Web's siphoning device. Upon realizing that the Great Web's siphoned energies would have to be funneled through a spider-totem to restore the Great Web, Arana prepared to sacrifice herself to restore the Multiverse, soon drawing Madame Web's power back into the Great Web. The loss of power soon freed the captured Spider-Society members and they arrived to see Arana funneling the Web's energies. Angry that she had not been in control of her own destiny and that the Squadron's Madame Web had arranged events to turn her into the Green Goblin, the Sinister Squadron's Goblin fought her way free of Spider-Man-1610 and Ghost-Spider-65's grasp and slammed Madame Web into the siphoning device, funneling the siphoned energies through Madame Web and rescuing Arana. The energies successfully exploded back into the Great Web, apparently destroying both the Squadron's Madame Web and the Green Goblin and restoring the Multiverse. The Spider-Society members then worked to send its various members and captured loved ones back to their proper realities and Madame Web-616 confirmed that the individual Sinister Squadron members the evil Madame Web had created were no longer able to tap into the abilities she had arranged for them. With the Spider-Society having won the battle against the Sinister Squadron, Arana asked Madame Web-616 what would come next.

(Amazing Spider-Man V Giant-Size#1 / 4) - After finding Earth-91029's Kid Venom, Spider-Girl-982 brought him to the Spider-Society for help in getting Kid Venom back to his home reality. The Spider-Society, now with new members Spider-Man-9349 and Spider-Zero-19166, admitted that getting Kid Venom home would be difficult, explaining that while they could traverse the Multiverse, they couldn't transcend time. When Spider-Man-616 emerged from a Multiversal portal to joke about time travel, Kid Venom's symbiote, Clinter, sensed the call of the symbiote god Knull and entered the portal to Earth-616, emerging outside the Baxter Building under the thrall of Knull.

    The Marvel Database Wiki mentions Earth-19338's Spider-Man and Earth-92100's Spider-Man as members of the Spider-Society in Spider-Society I#1 but I did not see Spider-Man-19338 anywhere among the Spider-Society in that issue and the six-armed Spider-Man in that issue could not Spider-Man-92100, as Spider-Man-92100 was killed by the Earth-001 Inheritor Daemos. Sure, many of the Spider-totems killed during Spider-Verse were later resurrected during the "End of the Spider-Verse" storyline but only the ones killed by Morlun were restored, not the ones killed by the other Inheritors. Therefore, unless there's an untold story somewhere, Spider-Man-92100 was still dead at the time of Spider-Society I#1 and the six-armed Spider-Man in the Spider-Society was a different counterpart, perhaps Earth-8910's Spider-Man, Earth-28204's Spider-Man (Parker Peterman) or Earth-39811's Spider-Man with his mutation disease not flaired up. Personally, I'm leaning more toward it being Spider-Man-28204, mostly because he had already encountered Multiversal Spider-totems (Spider-Ham) before and would more likely have been known by the Spider-Society and therefore recruited by them. Plus, Spider-Man-8910 is a creation of the Impossible Man, who likely would have sensed his reality's Spider-Man leaving the Earth he created and would want to become involved himself. Then again, we do see Earth-31198's Armored Spidey among the Spider-Society and there is a Scarlet Spider counterpart (albeit one with inverted costume colors) so that could support it being a non-flaired up Spider-Man-39811. There's really no concrete to say either way but for the purposes of this profile, I'm going with Spider-Man-28204. If something comes along to later confirm it was Spider-Man-8910 or Earth-39811, I'll update the profile to reflect that.

    Similarly, the Calypso seen among the Sinister Squadron is likely Earth-9391's Calypso, as that reality's Calypso was the only one (I'm aware of anyway) that resembled the Earth-616 Calypso (as the Sinister Squadron's Calypso did) AND did not have beads, etc. in her hair. Most of the other Calypsos from other realities looked significantly different than the Earth-616 Calypso and the only other one that looked similar (Earth-19726's Calypso) had beads in her hair. The Sinister Squadron's Calypso did not have beads in her hair, leaving the only option of a previously seen Calypso as Earth-9391's Calypso. I mean, sure, Calypso can take beads in and out of her hair but since Earth-9391's Calypso matches the one in the Sinister Squadron, it seems likely that could be her. On that note, the Goblin 2099 seen in the Sinister Squadron could only be the previously unseen and only referenced Earth-68926 counterpart, as the Earth-928 Goblin was presumably destroyed when Earth-928 was merged into the composite Earth-2099 and the other counterparts (Earth-16713, Earth-31945 and the one seen in the Spider-Man Unlimited mobile game) all looked different than the one in the Sinister Squadron (who more closely resembled the destroyed Earth-928 counterpart).

    The Marvel Database Wiki states that the Spider-Society is referenced in The End 2099#2 (2026) but I could not find any reference to the group in that issue. The closest would be a statement from Spider-Man 2099 where he mentions having encountered numerous other spider-heroes before but that's not any sort of direct reference to the Spider-Society. Spider-Man 2099 has encountered spider-heroes many times before in the various Spider-Verse crossovers while solo and (at that point anyway) once alongside the Spider-Society. Just making a statement that he's encountered many spider-heroes doesn't necessarily mean that it was with the Spider-Society. Therefore, I have not included that "appearance" in the Spider-Society's history since there was no reference to the actual group.
