SNOW
QUEEN
Real Name: Unrevealed; possibly Snow Queen
Identity/Class: Terrestrial tiger mutated (evolved)
Occupation: Warrior
Group Membership: Knights
of Wundagore
Affiliations: High Evolutionary (Herbert Wyndham)
Enemies: Beast (Hank
McCoy)
Known Relatives: White
Tiger (evolved Siberian Tiger; brood sister)
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: At least formerly the Citadel
of Science, Mount Wundagore, Transia
First Appearance: (Unidentified)
Uncanny
X-Men#488/2 (September, 2007);
(identified) X-Factor III#21/2 "Endangered
Species chapter 3" (September, 2007)
Powers/Abilities: A humanoid tiger, Snow Queen possesses
enhanced human strength (lifting perhaps 1 ton), speed, agility and
reflexes. She can swiftly
leap great distances .
Her senses are superhumanly keen,
particularly her olfactory sense (smell), and she can likely track her
prey over distances or identify disguised persons by their scent.
She likely had weak color vision
but excellent nocturnal or low-light vision (likely enhanced by a
reflective tapetum lucidum) and is adept at spotting motion.
She can likely stalk her prey
soundlessly when necessary.
She has three fingers and a thumb
on each hand (and likely four toes on each foot), each of which contain
sharp claws able to rend flesh and possibly wood and/or soft metals.
History:
(Quicksilver I#11 (fb) / Heroes for Hire/Quicksilver '98) - At some point following Exodus' assault on Wundagore Mountain (circa Avengers I#380-382), the High Evolutionary realized that this was but the first of other such battles, and he decided that he needed to create new Knights using Isotope E to defend his Citadel. At that time, he created Lady Vermin and the White Tiger, as well as Sir Wulf.
(X-Factor
III#21/2) - Snow Queen was the brood sister of White
Tiger.

Beast
queried whether she had asked her lord and master if he was
prepared to
talk to him, and Snow Queen replied that the Evolutionary
was her
creator and that they had standing orders. Beast asked how
long those
orders would stand if the X-Men visited them, and Snow Queen
told him
to bring them and they would see. Comments: Created by Mike Carey and Mark Bagley.
Obviously she's a retcon character, but if she was from the same brood/litter as White Tiger, where was she during the events of the Quicksilver series that featured the Knights of Wundagore. They certainly could have used another powerful warrior against the Acolytes, Man-Beast, etc.
Her
sister was specially-conditioned to make her immune to the
Man-Beast's telepathic power, but there's not evidence
that Snow Queen
had such abilities.
A very visually interest character and skilled warrior, it's a shame we haven't seen her again.
If she was on Mount Wundagore at the time of Mighty Avengers#22, she was presumably slain by Modred. Here's hoping she was elsewhere!
(Mighty Avengers I#22 (fb) - BTS) <Hours before the main story> - Modred apparently slew all of the Knights of Wundagore within the Darque Hold, the caverns deep within the mountain, where Chthon had written the Darkhold. Perhaps Modred led them there and then slew them, or he slew them and then brought them there.
