have led to his (nick)name.
He also apparently likes to smoke tobacco via a pipe.

a bill (with upper and lower teeth), but doesn't have wings.
History:
(Crazy Magazine#36 "Other Versions of Howard the Duck") - Sheerluck Duck presumably was a detective, possibly active in the 19th Century.
Comments: Created by Jim Newsome.
Sheerluck Duck appears in a
single panel with the name "Sheerluck Duck" as one of a number of
Howard counterparts in the "Other Versions of Howard the Duck" in two-page feature in Crazy Magazine#36.
Clearly, Sheerluck Duck
was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, the legendary 19th Century English detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
No further context is available, but it makes me wonder:
- Is his first name actually "Sheerluck," or is it a
nickname (a play on his being successful by sheer luck?), and his real
name is Howard or something else?
- Did Sheerluck travel from his anthropomorphic animals world (or
Duckworld, depending on the version) to Earth, arriving sometime during the 19th Century or another time period?
- Did he stay on his native world?
- How much of Sherlock Holmes' history does Duck Fury share?
- Being based in South Downs seems appropriate.
- Did he live at 221B Quacker Street? -- Grendel Prime
- Or maybe 221B Draker Street.--Helena Nash
- Did he have a partner named Quackson ?
- or Waughston? --Kevin Garcia
- or Ducktor Waterfowlson? --Loki
- or Doctor John Widgeon? --Helena Nash
- Did he have an enemy named Von Bock?
- Did he have a female counterpart in Marine Waddler (instead of Irene Adler; Destiny's namesake)? --Kevin Garcia?
- From Loki
- The Adventure of the Muscovy Ritual (The Adventure of
the Musgrave Ritual).
- The Adventure of the Grebe Interpreter (The Adventure
of the Greek Interpreter)
- The Duck with the Twisted Bill (The Man with the
Twisted Lip)
-
From Helena Nash:
- Pity he wasn't
originally called Shelduck Holmes. That would've been cool.
- The Hound of the
Baskerbilles.
- The Red-Legged League
(The Red-Headed League).
- Inspector LeCanard of
Scotland Yard (LeStrade).
- Watson's accounts of
the adventures were chronicled by Arthur Conan Fowl (Doyle).
Perhaps someday, someone will flesh out the
story of Sheerluck Duck and the seven other characters from this
featurette: Duck Carter of Mars, Batduck, Duckula, Duc Savage, Duckey Crocket and Drake Vader. and Duck Fury, Agent of Q.U.A.C.K.
Physical features were estimated based on the Howard active on Earth-616.
