History:
(Avengers VII#52 (fb) - BTS) - World War II soldier Alfred Anders married a woman who became Mrs. Anders. Some time later, after Mrs. Anders' vision started going and Alfred died, a teary-eyed Mrs. Anders was surprised to see Captain America at Alfred's funeral. Mrs. Anders admitted her vision wasn't what it used to be and that she didn't recognize Cap. When Cap replied that he had served with Alfred in the war, a confused Mrs. Anders suggested that Captain America must be mistaken, as Alfred had served in World War II. Cap only agreed that Alfred had served bravely in WWII and Mrs. Anders continued, mentioning how she had wanted pallbearers for the funeral but how all of Alfred's longtime friends in uniform had passed away as well. Captain America then assured Mrs. Anders that they had not all passed and told her to not worry about pallbearers.

(Avengers VII#52) - As Mrs. Anders was comforted by other funeral attendees, Captain America picked up Alfred Anders' coffin and carried it to the burial site by himself. As Captain America kneeled next to the coffin and Mrs. Anders, Captain Marvel and the young Starbrand discussed why they were present at the funeral as well. Mrs. Anders then watched as Captain America saluted Alfred's coffin

Comments: Created by Jason Aaron and Juan Frigeri.

Mrs. Anders' eye color was impossible, as she was only ever seen in shadow or with her face hidden behind a funeral veil.

should be distinguished from:

Alfred Anders

Alfred Anders was the husband of Mrs. Anders and he served in World War II, at least once alongside Captain America. Following Alfred's death, Mrs. Anders held a small funeral that was attended by Captain America. When Mrs. Anders mentioned wishing she could have had some uniformed men to act as pallbearers, Captain America picked up Alfred's corpse in its coffin and carried it to the burial site, where he paid his respects with a salute.
