History:

(Iron Man I#179 - BTS) - Gretl Anders, a homeless alcoholic, learned she was pregnant. She celebrated the news by getting drunk with her fellow vagrant Tony Stark.

(Iron Man I#182) - Gretl gave birth to Timothy outside in a New York City doorway during a severe blizzard. Gretl died soon after holding her baby for the first time and she insisted Tony looked after the boy. Stark kept the child safe from the elements until they were spotted by rescue workers. Despite the severe circumstances of his birth, Timothy required very little emergency care.

(Iron Man I#199 (fb) - BTS) - After being cleared from the hospital, the baby was placed in the care of the nuns who ran an orphanage in the Bowery. The sisters officially named the child Timothy.

(Iron Man I#199 - BTS) - Intimately familiar with Timothy and several other of Tony Stark's friends and acquaintances, Obadiah Stane ordered his minions to kidnap Timothy from the orphanage.

(Iron Man I#199) - When he learned of Stane's plans, Tony Stark rushed to the orphanage to protect Timothy but Stane's operatives were already in the process of abducting the child. Without his Iron Man armor, Stark was unable to stop them from leaving with the baby.

(Iron Man I#200 (fb) - BTS) - Obadiah Stane ordered his men to place Timothy in suspended animation cells along with Mrs. Arbogast, Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts. The cells were rigged with circuits capable of generating 200.000 volts if someone breached them, killing anyone inside in an instant.

(Iron Man I#200 - BTS) - Wearing his new Silver Centurion armor, Tony laid siege to Stane International, easily defeating Stane's forces and forcing Obadiah to don his massive Iron Monger battlesuit to deal with Stark personally. Unable to defeat Iron Man in a direct confrontation, Stane lured him to his underground complex where he teased Stark with his captive friends. By then, Stane had taken Timothy out of his cell.

(Iron Man I#200) - After safely removing his friends from their cells, Iron Man closed in on Stane who threatened to kill Timothy if he didn't stand down. To end the stand-off, Iron Man temporarily knocked out his opponent by targeting the Iron Monger's remote control unit. Iron Man quickly rescued Timothy and handed the infant to a nearby fireman, asking him to take real good care of the child while he went back to deal with Stane.

Comments: Created by Dennis O'Neil (writer), Luke McDonnell (pencils), Steve Mitchell (inks).

Whatever happened to poor Timothy? He hasn't been seen since late 1985, are we to assume he went back to the orphanage after Stark defeated Stane? Tony isn't much of a father figure so adopting him wouldn't have worked, but sending him back to squalor? He could have used his vast wealth and influence to track down relatives, possibly Gretl's parents? If nothing else, uncle Tony could have set up a trust fund for the kid or provided some other type of (financial) support.

Even though Timothy was captured along with Mrs. Arbogast, Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts, they're not listed under affiliations. They were all comatose and at a few months old, Timothy barely recognized his own fingers let alone Tony and his friends.
