History:
(Journey into Mystery#95/3) - For the Lizard Men travel through galaxies
was possible.
The Lizard men were at war with the planet Mimm and
feared their spies, who could shapeshift and infiltrate easily into
enemy lines.
The Lizard Men managed to send soldiers on a red
planet, far from the known galaxies. The red planet was believed to be
uninhabited by other races.
One day a human spacejet soared the skies of
the red planet. Lizard Men soldiers hid from be sighted and followed its
landing.
A human in red suit got out of the jet and explored
the territory. The Lizard Men captured him, believing that he was a Mimm
sent there to spy on them. They didn't believe at all to the documents he
carried with him. They didn't kill him outright because they had to wait
for their general. The next day, the general would judge the spy and
give the order of execution. Thus, they tied the prisoner to a tree.
During the night, however, the human escaped and succeeded in calling for help to another human spaceship.
The humans landed near the Lizard Men camp taking them by surprise, determined to free their comrade. The Lizard Men fought back, but the weapons of the humans were superior, so they had to abandon their camp and flee.
The human prisoner stole the humans'
secondary ship and fled, leaving the humans behind on the red planet.
Once out of their reach, the human shapeshifted into
his real form of Mimmian.
Comments: Created by Stan
"The Man" Lee and Larry Lieber.
The story voluntarily does not
clear whether the Lizard Men knew by unrevealed means that the human
pilot was a Mimm, or they were paranoid about the Mimmians'
shapeshifting and infiltration abilities.
