the mimmian transformign from the human formHistory:
(Journey into Mystery#95/3) - In the year 1996 of the Mimmian time, travel through galaxies was possible. Mimmians and Humans had the technology level to travel in open space using spaceships. Planet Mimm was at war with the alien Lizard Men race.

The inhabitants of the planet Mimm were renown to be able to assume any form they desired, so in those years, their governors regularly sent spies into the Lizard Men territories.

A Mimmian spy was flying far from the galaxies when his his space-jet had troubles with the engines. The Mimmian had assumed the shape of a human being, and had documents that proved that he came from planet Earth. The pilot found a planet where it was possible to land in order to repair the spaceship. The world atmosphere contained oxygen; moreover, soaring the surface, it seemed nobody inhabited it, thus the Mimmian landed and started exploring it.

Shortly after he, was found and captured by some Lizard Men that had observed his landing. They immediately restrained him, believing he was a Mimm sent there to spy on them. He wasn't able to deceive them into believing that he was a human.

The "human" Mimm was bound to a tree, to wait for the day after, when he would have probably been executed as a spy. During the night, he managed to free himself from the ropes and got on his jet to fly away, only to find that it had been sabotaged. The "human" Mimm, then transmitted an S.O.S. to another human spaceship which was near enough to the Red Planet.

The humans went to rescue the "prisoner". They landed near the Lizard Men outpost, and, with their technologically superior weapons of concentrated solar beams, overpowered the Lizard Men, who run for the hills. During the battle, the Mimm stole the reserve ship from the humans' spaceship and fled. The Mimm didn't want to risk that the humans could uncover him.

Comments: Created by Stan "The Man" Lee and Larry Lieber.

The Mimmian didn't know that the Lizard Men were on the red planet. He had already assumed a human form, so he probably had already spied on the humans, and was going back home.

The Mimmian stated that the he was traveling in 1996. It was told as he was a human being speaking to readers of year 1963, so it seemed to refer to a future era. However, nothing denies that he was referring to the Mimm time system. The thing that sets the story in the future (or in an alternate timeline) is that the humans depicted in the story have advanced galaxy-travel and weaponry technology level.
