History:
(Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance#1 (fb) - BTS) - Long ago after Lilith was imprisoned, Creed led the Lilin like a father and kept the old legends alive.

Over the centuries Creed gave up on the old legends and distanced himself from the other Lilin. He tried to forget the past and find peace.

(Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance#1) - Creed was meditating in his church when his sibling Pilgrim teleported in with their mother. Pilgrim explained to Creed that their mother had finally returned like the legends foretold, but this only annoyed Creed, who had given up on old legends and distanced himself from the other Lilin to seek peace. Creed jumped Pilgrim and choked him until Lilith picked up Creed's head to reveal that Pilgrim was telling the truth about her return. Creed agreed to serve her because Lilith was there to protect her children from those that sought to destroy them. Creed started by attacking Blackout, who was eavesdropping on them, but Lilith felt that he was her grandchild and asked Creed to leave alone because Blackout could lead them to Blaze and Ghost Rider.

Blackout led Creed and Pilgrim to the current location of the Quentin Carnival in Providence, Rhode Island. Blackout couldn't wait to kill for Lilith, but Creed told him that he would only kill if Creed told him to. Blackout threatened to kill Creed, who picked him up by the throat. Pilgrim was shocked at Blackout's threat because Creed had been like a father to the Lilin in the past, which angered Creed as well because he just wanted peace and nothing to do with the Lilin anymore. The three Lilin broke into Blaze's trailer and Creed prevented Blackout from harming the children. Creed took Blaze's son Craig and vowed not to hurt him or anyone else of Blaze's family because he was only after Blaze and Ghost Rider. Pilgrim then opened a portal and the three Lilin disappeared with Craig.

Not far away Creed, Pilgrim, Blackout and Craig waited for the arrival of Blaze and Ghost Rider. Creed was sure the two adventurers would find them because he felt that there was something special about Blaze. Ghost Rider took hold of Pilgrim with his chain to prevent the Lilin from escaping again. Creed then talked to Johnny Blaze after asking Blackout not to hurt Craig. Creed explained to Blaze that either Ghost Rider or Blaze had to die because they posed a threat to Lilith, but Creed didn't want to hurt Blaze or his son. Creed easily deflected Ghost Rider's chain and Blaze then agreed to sacrifice himself if Blackout released Craig. Creed asked Blackout to let Craig go, but Blackout didn't agree with him. Blaze pulled his hellfire shotgun on Creed, but Creed didn't even pay attention to him and assaulted Ghost Rider with mystical energy beams. Blaze shot Creed before he could hurt Ghost Rider any further and Creed released his extremities to take out Blaze, but Blaze shot Creed's arms and legs out of the sky and then shot Creed's head off of his body. Creed thanked Blaze for finally giving him the peace he sought. Blackout and Pilgrim escaped and took Creed's head back to Lilith, who left his head in his church and vowed that there would be no peace for Creed.

Comments: Created by Howard Mackie & Adam Kubert.

Creed had crosses all over his outfit, but I don't think this is the official garb of any kind of real world priest. The unnecessary pomp on his outfit screamed Catholic, but I am not sure. Maybe he served one of dozens of offshoots or a completely different religion with similar iconography.
