(Paradise X#4 (fb) - BTS) - When the first Celestial Host arrived to experiment on the DNA of mankind, their towering forms blocked out the Moon, which the primitive Moon People tribe worshiped. The disappearance of the Moon caused them to go into hiding, as a result they weren't genetically manipulated by the space gods. Now different from the other tribes, the Moon Clan found themselves the object of scorn and persecution by the more evolved mankind. They exiled themselves, eventually settling in remote places like the Canadian wilds where they continued to evolve naturally. As part of their culture, they left their newborn out in the woods. One child was actually found by Mr. Howlett and his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Hudson-Howlett. The wealthy family had just lost their young heir and they decided to take the baby as their own, calling him James.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - Young James was raised by his adoptive parents Elizabeth and John, but his family soon grew to resent the boy because of his superior health and abilities. They confined him to bed and tried to convince him he was a sickly child. During one of those days, young James was visited by his friend Rose O'Hara, Dog Logan and his hateful grandfather.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - One day James witnessed the drunken groundskeeper Thomas Logan murdering his father John after he fired him for being unable to discipline his son. Filled with blind rage, James jumped Thomas and killed him with his newly manifested bone claws and scarring Dog's face with claw marks. James and his childhood friend Rose O'Hara then ran away from the Howlett Estate. No longer under the protection of the family name, he took the groundskeeper's name; Logan.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - As an adult, Logan lived with a pack of wolves for some time.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - When Logan first encountered the man known as Sabretooth, his scent alone made him an instant enemy. He was unaware Sabretooth was a descendant of the Bear Clan, who had a similar origin to the Moon Clan. Logan barely survived their first meeting.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - After gaining a reputation for being a fierce, seemingly unkillable brawler thanks to his healing factor, Logan found himself targeted by the covert government Weapon X program. After they captured the woodsman, they laced Logan's skeleton with a malleable but indestructible metal known as adamantium. Logan only survived the lethal grafting process due to his healing factor.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - Following the grafting procedure, Logan managed to escape the Weapon X program and returned to the wilds where he was eventually encountered by James MacDonald Hudson and his wife Heather Hudson. They managed to calm him down and restore him to a semblance of humanity. As Wolverine, he eventually joined the team of Canadian superpowered agents called Alpha Flight.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - After leaving Alpha Flight, Wolverine was sent to track down a menace in the Canadian wild which led him to intervene during a fight between the Wendigo and the Hulk.

(Paradise X#4 (fb)) - Wolverine was eventually invited to join the X-Men by their leader, Professor Charles Xavier. There he was introduced to a other recent recruits including Banshee, Colossus, Storm and Thunderbird along with original X-Men members Beast, Cyclops and Jean Grey.

(Paradise X#8) - Wolverine and the new incarnation of the X-Men were standing on the Institute's front steps when Cyclops and Charles Xavier arrived.

(Earth X#6 (fb)) - While smoking a cigar, Wolverine noticed Cyclops walking alongside Jean Grey near the Xavier Institute.

(Universe X#0 (fb) - BTS) - Wolverine and his fellow X-Men made their way to limbo when young Illyana Rasputin had been kidnapped by Belasco.

(Universe X#3 (fb)) - Trapped in limbo's time warped reality, Wolverine and the X-Men even fought versions of themselves.

(Universe X#10) - Having located young Illyana Rasputin, Wolverine and the X-Men were quickly surrounded by Belasco and his demons, unaware Belasco was in fact a future version of their own Nightcrawler.

(Universe X#0 (fb)) - With the help of a magical empowered Storm from another dimension the X-Men stopped Belasco's plan and made their way back to Earth.

(Paradise X#6 (fb)) - Logan pursued and eventually won the heart of Jean Grey. Both continued to serve with the X-Men, celebrating their love by posing for a photograph.

(Earth X#5 - BTS) - Logan and Jean decided to leave the X-Men to marry, move in together and enjoy a "normal" married life.

(Earth X#11 (fb) - BTS) - Now going simply by Logan, he lived with Jean in a tiny New York apartment for 10 years.

(Earth X#5 - BTS) - Over time, Logan found himself deeply frustrated with his life. Turning to alcohol for comfort, he began to drank so much his healing factor was no longer able to keep up. Now fat and balding, his relationship with his wife grew toxic, often badmouthing her and acting like a slob feeling he "was the man Summers could never be".

(Earth X#0 - BTS) - Wolverine was among the many heroes Uatu the Watcher referenced when he told X-51 how he'd been moved by mankind's nobility and bravery.

(Earth X#5) - During a non-specific day Logan sat in his lazy chair watching television as he yelled at Jean to get him another brew, visibly irritated by his manners Jean told him to stagger to the fridge himself as the exercise would do him good. He then noted he was "sorry" he wasn't "Slim" (Scott Summers) for her taste.

(Earth X#6 - BTS) - While talking to X-51, Uatu thought of Wolverine standing alongside the many who'd helped spread Xavier's dream.

(Earth X#6 - BTS) - When Reed Richards travelled to the ruins of the former Xavier Institute to locate Cerebro he accidentally activated the Danger Room which played out and event where Wolverine and other X-Men fought Sentinels.

(Earth X#11) - Logan and Jean Grey watched the news and learned the Skull was on his way conquering the United States. Disappointed in her husband Jean urged Logan to get involved only to be told to shut her mouth. Having had enough of living with a pig, Jean packed her bags and decided to leave him, in an effort to really hurt Logan she "revealed" she was in fact Madelyne Pryor, Jean's clone after which she left. Wolverine was unaware it was a lie.

(Paradise X#3 - BTS) - Logan was formally invited to the wedding of King Britain (Brian Braddock) and Queen Medusa of the Inhumans, along with many other heroes.

(Paradise X#3) - Logan arrived at Windsor Castle in England where he witnessed the wedding ceremony between King Britain and Queen Medusa. During the ceremony Logan was seated next to Jean Grey and also Scott Summer's new incarnation of the X-Men. Afterwards during the wedding reception Logan confronted "Maddie" who'd left him, however, Jean Grey was quick to explain she wasn't a clone but had said so to "snikt" him. Visibly hurt, Logan admitted his senses weren't what the used to be. Just then Logan came face to face with an alternate reality version of himself, the Wolverine of Earth-811 (Days of Future Past). The alternate reality version had been recruited by X-51 to be part of a group of "Heralds" to warn alternate Earths of the possibility of a Celestial embryo growing at the core of their planet. The alternate reality version was teamed up with Spider-Girl from Earth-982, Iron Man 2020 of Earth-8410, Deathlok of Earth-7484, Killraven of Earth-691, Bloodstorm of Earth-1298, and Hyperion of Earth-1121. The alternate reality Wolverine, who was older but still in great shape, confronted Logan he thought their healing factor was supposed to prevent them from turning fat, Logan, however, quickly noted that if he wanted insults he'd move back in with Jean.

(Paradise X Heralds Special) - Surrounded by several former X-Men, Logan talked with Wolverine.

(Paradise X#3) - Their conversation was cut short when Cyclops violently reacted to seeing someone who looked like the dead X-Man Banshee. He attacked the man, actually Mephisto, who escaped and turned himself into Grey Gargoyle who petrified members of Excalibur.

(Universe X#X - BTS) - When the Absorbing Man attacked New York, he literally absorbed Manhattan and grew into a lumbering, gigantic city of a man. He was eventually stopped by Loki who convinced Creel to do the right thing and turn to vibranium to restore the Earth's depleted core (following the extraction of the Celestial embryo). With Creel gone, Manhattan was permanently transformed into a towering statue of the man. Logan's apartment like so many in Manhattan now stood vertically causing the city's citizens to drastically change the way they lived.

(Paradise X#6) - Now living in his vertical-turned apartment Logan was drinking his brewski's while watching a show when he was visited by the Wolverine of Earth-811, he'd met before. The alternate reality Wolverine had learned their true Moon-Tribe origin from the new Watcher, X-51 and came to convince Logan he could change his life from the sad one it had become. Wolverine slashed Logan's beer to gain his attention after which he explained he wasn't just a man struggling with his bestial side but quite the opposite after which he left. Logan took a minute to process what had happened after which he started to laugh and for the first time in years noticed a ray of sunshine coming through the window. Logan left his apartment, stripped of his clothes and dived right into the Hudson. Finally embracing himself for who he was, Logan left for the wilderness.
