Powers/Abilities: Synapse possesses bio-electric powers that allow him to send out small jolts of electricity, or to rewrite human memories, stealing the memories of those he is replacing. The source of Synapse's powers are unrevealed, nor are the full extent of them. He can scramble the brains of others as well, potentially resulting in brain damage or disruption to the nervous system.

History:
(Daredevil I#379 (fb) - BTS) - Max Mullins developed bio-electric abilities that allowed him to send out electric zaps, and to steal memories and relace them with others. He was an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. for some time. He was eventually recruited by the Kingpin to join his Emissaries of Evil in Paris, France, alongside Stilt-Man and le Concierge. At Kingpin's orders, Synapse stole the memories of a S.H.I.E.L.D. "volume agent", a man who knew the identities of all deep cover agents around the world. Kingpin made plans to auction off Synapse's skills, and the list of deep cover agents, to the highest bidder among the European crime families. Before the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent died, he crossed paths with Dr. Claudia DuBois.

(Daredevil I#376) - Synapse and le Concierge discussed the potential threat of DuBois, and Kingpin responded by sending Hand ninjas to handle her.

(Daredevil I#377) - Synapse was ordered to deliver an electric jolt to Stilt-Man's armor, preventing the villain from speaking to the hero, Laurent LeVasseur (secretly Daredevil).

(Daredevil I#378) - Kingpin was questioning Claudia DuBois when she made a joke about his obesity. When Synapse laughed at the joke, Kingpin punched him, knocking him unconscious. In revenge, Synapse was planning on using his powers to rewrite Kingpin's memories, but Fisk hit him again and reminded him that he needed Synapse's powers to complete the mission. Le Concierge returned with a captive Daredevil (though the hero had actually traded costumes with le Concierge) just as Kingpin was ready to meet with the criminal heads of Europe to discuss the sale of the list.

(Daredevil I#379 (fb) - BTS) - "Laurent" freed himself and knocked Synapse back, but Kingpin quickly got the upper hand.

(Daredevil I#379) - Kingpin saw Daredevil restrained, then took Synapse and "le Concierge" with him to confront the criminal members of the underworld. Kingpin prepared to have Synpase rewrite the memories of Claudia DuBois to demonstrate his abilities before the underworld, and Synapse threatened to make her think she was a dog. Laurent (back in his costume) returned to fight them, freeing Claudia. After a fight, Kingpin restrained Daredevil and ordered Synapse to rewrite his brain again, but Synapse accidentally restored his original memories, not realizing that S.H.I.E.L.D. had reprogrammed Daredevil's mind with technology previously. As S.H.I.E.L.D. rushed in to arrest everyone, Kingpin and Synapse disappeared.
