History:
(Daredevil I#206 (fb) - BTS) - Professor Horatio Piper was a well-connected professor at Empire State University.

(Daredevil I#213 (fb) - BTS) - Piper taught anthropology, but he grew bored with his life.

(Daredevil I#202 (fb) - BTS) - When the Kinjorge Tribe (white English settlers who'd been displaced for nearly 200 hundred years) were discovered in East Africa at Mt. Suruba, they became worldwide sensations. Piper went to study the tribe, and he brought back the tribe's Chief, Micah, to the United States, as well as Micah's wives, M'Tha and Sra. He put them up in a hotel and went to find legal representation for them.

(Daredevil I#202) - Piper introduced Micah, M'Tha, and Sra to attorneys Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock, as well as their assistant Becky Blake, and he explained they'd need help in negotiating book and movie deals. When Micah tried grabbing fruit he hadn't paid for and attacking a civilian, the police got involved and arrested Micah after an altercation, leaving Piper to calling the lawyers.

(Daredevil I#202 - BTS) - Piper had his university vouch for Micah, it agreeing with Piper's theory that Micah's actions were in accordance with his own tribal customs.

(Daredevil I#202) - Judge Carstairs agreed to set bail for Micah, with strict warnings to Micah to maintain good behavior. Outside, Piper, and Nelson saw Officer Mulcahay make peace with Micah just as M'Tha wandered out in traffic and was killed by a car.

(Daredevil I#204) - Piper escorted Micah and Sra to the subway, as Foggy Nelson and his wife Debbie Harris flanked them. An assassin, Crossbow, attacked Micah, but Daredevil intervened, saving Micah, then savig Sra from getting hit by the subway, as Piper watched.

(Daredevil I#204 - BTS) - Murdock called Piper, worried about the attempt on Synn's life. Piper theorized that Micah descended from an old British family line, that of the Synn family, dating back to King Henry IV, and Becky Blake realized that Micah's only living relative, Barrington Synn, was in town.

(Daredevil I#206 (fb) - BTS) - Piper brought more of the Kingorge Tribe to New York and planned a dinner for them.

(Daredevil I#206) - As the media, including Bernie, recorded the Kingorge feast, Piper (along with Foggy Nelson and Debbie Harris) was horrified to see the tribesmen savagely devouring the food on the floor. Piper chose not to call the police, hoping the Kingorge would settle down soon.

(Daredevil I#210 (fb) - BTS) - Piper worked with Nelson to get a case where Micah could claim the Synn family inheritance. Piper saw that Micah stated to the newspapers that Daredevil should be locked up.

(Daredevil I#210) - Piper, Micah, and the Kingorge met Matt, Foggy, and Debbie at the office, where they discussed Micah getting a restraining order against Daredevil.

(Daredevil I#211 (fb) - BTS) - Piper saw the attorneys get a more permanent restraining order against Daredevil for Synn. He then welcomed a tribal elder of the Kingorge, the Vikah.

(Daredevil I#211) - Piper introduced the Vikah to the media, and told them about the restraining order.

(Daredevil I#212 (fb) - BTS) - Piper got news that Becky Blake was calling a press conference, in which she was accusing Micah of trying to kill her and actually murdering another woman.

(Daredevil I#212) - Piper rushed into Micah's home with warnings about the press conference, but he discovered Becky's claims were true, as the corpse of Heidi DeVoto lay on the ground in front of a torture device and an idol of Mow. Micah laughed and said Piper would now be serving him. Later, Piper saw Vikah discussing the reporter Gene Jackson with Micah as they held a human skull. Piper cried, wondering what he'd gotten himself into.

(Daredevil I#213 (fb) - BTS) - Piper began capitalizing on his celebrity. He put together a book he was calling "Micah and the Kingorge: One Anthropologist's Informal Evaluation." He found an agent and began dating beautiful women. Piper also made several different television appearances.

(Daredevil I#213) - Piper felt horrified as he studied the Mow idol and the torture device. He informed Micah that he'd set up an interview for him at the Post, then he left for meetings with his agent and faculty. One of the Kingorge tripped Piper as he walked out, and Micah laughed. He saw Debbie Harris cry out for help, but he chose to ignore her, and Piper left. Piper gave an interview with the media about Kingpin being a criminal. At Empire State University, Melissa kissed Piper on the cheek and Piper bragged to his colleague Otterson, but just then one of the Kingorge committed a robbery and shot Otterson, who soon died. Piper stood there in shock. Daredevil waited in the dark of Piper's apartment and told him that what he was doing was wrong and unethical. Feeling terrible about his choices, he set a fire (burning his own paycheck) in the Kingorge building and used the distraction to help Debbie Harris escape. Micah found the burnt check and knew Piper was behind it. He chased Piper through the building, and Piper ran into the room with the Mow idol. The Vikah killed him with the spiked platform. Foggy Nelson soon discovered his corpse.
