Powers/Abilities: Hi-Vo is a massive monster seemingly composed of electrical energy, whose size changes depending on how much energy he currently contains. Hi-Vo can absorb electrical and nuclear energy, and perhaps other kinds of energy, and can discharge electric energy from his own form. He is able to fly on electric currents through the air. Speaking through bursts of electrical energy, Hi-Vo couldn't be understood by Kid Kaiju until a translation device was developed by Moon Girl. Hi-Vo may have originated on an alien planet or may be a creation of Kid Kaiju. Hi-Vo is a component of the composite monster Smasher, which is at times assembled by Kei Kawade to battle larger threats. Hi-Vo has lost some of his own strength when Kid Kaiju's confidence suffers.

History:
(Monsters Unleashed II#4 (fb) - BTS) - Kei Kawade, an Inhuman child who used the name Kid Kaiju and who had the power to draw monsters and summon them from anywhere in the universe, began drawing original monsters, but he never finished them.

(Monsters Unleashed II#5) - During a battle with the Leviathon Mother, Kei finished drawing several original monsters, bringing them to life, including Mekara, Fireclaw, Scragg, Hi-Vo, Aegis, and Slizzik. They battled the massive alien beast and Fireclaw was soon killed. Kei then turned the other five monsters into one giant composite monster, Smasher, and used it to defeat the alien. The five monsters soon accompanied Kei and his parents, Minouru and Deanna Kawade, and Elsa Bloodstone to the terraformed island Mu to live, where they would be under the supervision of S.H.I.E.LD. and Damage Control.

(Monsters Unleashed III#1) - Hi-Vo and the others helped Kei defeat Animax in Salt Lake City. Back on Mu, they heard Gloria Clark of Damage Control scolding Kei. Later, they interacted with his instructor H.E.R.B.I.E. before Leviathons under the control of the Mole Man attacked a tanker at the coast of Texas.

(Monsters Unleashed III#2) - During the fight with the monsters, Hi-Vo used his electric powers to savagely attack the monsters. Kei's monsters soon realized that Kei and Elsa had been kidnapped by Mole Man. Soon, S.H.I.E.L.D. approached, determined to contain Hi-Vo and his friends.

(Monsters Unleashed III#3) - Hi-Vo and the other monsters were shrunk down to small size by Pym Particles (by Dum Dum Dugan) and contained aboard the Helicarrier. Kei then summoned the smaller monsters to his location, where he was being held by the Intelligencia (with the Awesome Android).

(Monsters Unleashed III#4) - Hi-Vo and the others provided counsel to Kei as the Intelligencia tried manipulating him. When Lady Hellbender and Elsa Bloodstone fought, the monsters were freed, and they attacked the villains despite their small size, with Hi-Vo attacking the Leader. Kei summoned Commander from Krangro to aid as the fight resolved, then he restored his monsters to their giant size. He combined the monsters into Smasher, then rushed back to Mu to fight a composite Leviathon monster.

(Monsters Unleashed III#5) - Smasher defeated the composite monster, then Hi-Vo and the others defeated the individual Leviathons. The monsters then joined Kei in defeating the Intelligencia. Back on Mu, they had barbecue with the Mole Man.

(Monsters Unleashed III#6) - Hi-Vo and the other monsters helped stop a nuclear reactor from exploding in Japan, and focused on saving civilians, and Hi-Vo was able to absorb the energy from the reactor, averting a disaster.

(Monsters Unleashed III#7) - Hi-Vo began wondering about their origins. The monsters were summoned by Kei and Elsa to the Savage Land to battle the Poison Fin Fang Foom, but they were swiftly overwhelmed as they realized their powers were weakened.

(Monsters Unleashed III#8) - Kei summoned the real Fin Fang Foom to battle the Poison one, and soon he restored his monsters to full strength when his confidence returned. The Poison Foom was killed, and the monsters returned to Mu. The monsters began to realize that they were connected to Kei in ways they couldn't understand.

(Monsters Unleashed III#9) - Hi-Vo saw Kei plan a mission with Scragg. Later, Kei and Scragg brought giant bees back to live on the island.

(Monsters Unleashed III#11 - BTS) - Kei got the idea to contact Moon Girl so she could build him a device that would allow communication with Slizzik and Hi-Vo. A Technarch named Egg was brought back to Mu, and Hi-Vo realized he could communicate with the alien.

(Monsters Unleashed III#12) - Kei took Slizzik and Hi-Vo to New York City, where they romped with Devil Dinosaur in Central Park. Moon Girl used a device that helped Kei communicate with Hi-Vo, who enthusiastically spoke to Kei at rapid pace about all of his thoughts, and Kei asked Hi-Vo to slow down. Miss Mech attacked the monsters with giant robots, and Slizzik, Hi-Vo, and Devil did their best to hold them off, but Hi-Vo found himself unable to destroy the robots. They soon befriended Miss Mech instead. Later, Kei regrouped with his monsters back on Mu.

(Venomized#3) - Kei summoned Hi-Vo and the others to New York City to aid in a battle against the invading Poisons.

(Venomized#4) - Kei had Hi-Vo and the others stand against the Poison Thanos.

(Venomized#5) - Hi-Vo and the others saw Scragg fall before the Poison Thanos, though Scragg was later revived in a miniature form. As the battle ended, the monsters returned to Mu and began rebuilding their lives.

(Marvel Monsters II#1) - Kei summoned Hi-Vo and the others to an island where they battled the monsters of Maximillian Frankenstein.

Comments: Created by Cullen Bunn and Adam Kubert.

Hi-Vo seems to be short for high voltage. While Mekara and Scragg are shown to have memories of their origins before being summoned by Kei, Slizzik isn't shown to have anything; it is hinted that these monsters are all aliens, but they may be original creations by Kawade.
