History:

(Sub-Mariner I#62 - BTS) - Arkus and the Atlantean army fought Dr. Hydro and his mind-controlled human-amphibian army. With the help of Namor, Namorita and Tamara the enemy army was freed from their mental control and Dr. Hydro defeated.

(Sub-Mariner I#63) - No sooner after Namor and the Atlanteans defeated Dr. Hydro the waters around Atlantis began to churn and boil as Arkus and his men tried to escape in an Atlantean perimeter-patrol ship. Hurled away by the giant waves the ship managed to reach the city's Northern edge and were joined by Namor himself who helped the men escape the ship which temperature had risen to dangerous heights. Namor ordered Arkus to rest as he would investigate the phenomenon personally.

(Marvel Comics Presents I#12/4) - Arkus and a squadron of the Atlantean army made their way to the slums that lay in the shadow of the city of Atlantis as several Atlanteans had been captured by the misguided School. The members of School had captured several Atlanteans amongst them Namorita as a way to force Atlantis to acknowledge and assist the poor who lived in the slums. As the army captured the members of School and freed their prisoners, Arkus who only saw them as savages proposed to discuss the situation with Namorita over a homecoming in the Royal Palace. Upset with the state of affairs she declined to which Arkus responded that every city had it's problems. Namorita swam away realizing her eyes had been opened to her potential to fix problems.

I only choose to list Arkus cousins as I'm uncertain from which side of the family Arkus will be and thus who his expanded family will be.

As part of the Atlanteans Arkus received profiles in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe I#1 and Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition#1.
