ONGULIAN race

Classification: Semi-humanoid extraterrestrial race

Location/Base of Operations: Presumably mobile;
    formerly an unidentified frozen wasteland planet;
    formerly Ongulia (destroyed);
Kak identified Deadpool as being from "a far away galaxy," indicating the Ongulians' origin galaxy was distant from the Milky Way

Known Members: Bluzia (deceased), Kak, Wongus (deceased), at least 18 other unidentified survivors

Affiliations: Funtzel, Obb, Orksa, colonists of Urrulu (not sure if they would consider the Ongulians allies or not);
formerly Deadpool (Jack, aka Wade Wilson)

Enemies: Deadpool, Id, possibly the colonists of Urrulu

First Appearance: Deadpool IV#33 (April, 2011)

Powers/Abilities: The Ongulians did not demonstrate superhuman powers. They designed interstellar ships, though only their command ship survived the destruction of Ongulia; their command ship was apparently destroyed in the destruction of U-235.

It is unrevealed whether the Ongulians designed and/or constructed the weapon or the rocket used against Id (or whether they paid others to do so).

The image to the left shows their skeletal structure, and reveals that they have three toes.

It is unrevealed whether any female Ongulians survived their planet's destruction. Based on the females' body proportions, it would appear they have mammalian features, which would indicate that they reproduce sexually. However, a female referred to her spawning group; spawning generally referring to a release of eggs and sperm into water (by non-mammalian aquatic species) to be fertilized by each other, though it may refer to offspring from a common stock...and might just mean relatives.

Traits: The Ongulians appear to be driven by a sense of honor and duty. They are willing to sacrifice others for what they perceive as the greater good. Most seem to be serious, with little appreciation for humor.

Prior to their planet's destruction and the annihilation of their race, they had similar social media (such as Spacebook) and events (such as weddings, with chaplins and chapels).

Type:  Bilaterally symmetric semi-humanoid bipeds
Eyes
: Three (on head; solid yellow-orange color seen)
Fingers
: Four (including opposing thumb)
Toes
: Three
Skin color: Green, with darker spots on top of face plate
Average height: Approximately 6'2" (Kak seemed to be 3-5" taller than the 6'2" Deadpool, and the Ongulians looked to be a couple inches shorter than Kak)

History:
(Deadpool IV#33 (fb)) <6 years before the main story> - Id destroyed the planet Ongulia and everyone on it, laughing maniacally as he did.

Aboard the command ship of the Ongulian Defense Fleet, their planet's destruction was noted, seconds before discovering the blast wave was approaching the forward gunships at incredible speed. Commmander Kak instructed his crewmen to send the order for evasive maneuvers, but it was too late, as the other ships were already gone. Before the blast wave hit the command ship, however, Id neutralized the blast wave in the process of inhaling the debris of both the planet Ongulia and the destroyed fleet.

Commander Kak, noting that he and his crew were the only evidence that Ongulia and its people ever existed, vowed that they would scour the galaxy to raise an army of fierce warriors willing to fight by their side, to avenge their families, friends, neighbors, and their world. One of his crew noted that he more appropriately meant "suicidal" instead of "fierce," as that what they'd have to be; Kak responded that that was what he was looking for then.

(Deadpool IV#34 (fb) - BTS) - The Ongulians bided their time, tracking their enemy and learning Id's aberrant ways.

(Deadpool IV#34 (fb) - BTS) - Over the years, the Ongulians were forced to sell off components of their vessel to fund their quest.

(Deadpool IV#34 (fb) - BTS) - The Ongulians specifically engineered a weapon to destroy Id; a robotic drilling machine, it would, once engaged, burrow into Id's core, at which point the Ongulians could remotely detonate its high-powered nuclear explosive. They were only able to design a single such weapon, and it was limited in that it had to be placed precisely upon one of the fault lines on Id's surface, and thus required someone able to survive on Id's surface long enough to place it appropriately.

(Deadpool IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - Kak attempted to hire Funtzel Intergalactic Towing & Recovery to destroy Id, but was turned down.

(Deadpool IV#33 - BTS) - After Deadpool joined Funtzel Intergalactic, Funtzel and his friend Obb decided to accept Kak's offer, hoping that Deadpool would be killed in the process of trying to destroy the powerful Id (amongst other issues, Deadpool had married Funtzel's sister, Orksa, who Obb was in love with).

(Deadpool IV#33) - Kak offered Deadpool an exorbitant sum on behalf of the last surviving members of the Ongulian civilization to destroy Id. Deadpool accepted.

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - Deadpool asked Kak to say a few words to the remaining Ongulians.

(Deadpool IV#34) - Kak spoke to his remaining troops (looked to be at least 18 of them), announcing that they time for vengeance had finally come. Kak announced that he would personally lead the charge, while the good and true citizen-soldiers would follow him, but they would be joined by a fierce warrior from a far away galaxy who, spurred by the justness of their cause, had agreed to pick up arms and, if necessary, lay down his very life to preserve the memory of Ongulia and to bring its destructor to swift and terrible justice.
However, as Kak prepared to introduce Deadpool, an aide whispered to them that Deadpool was not available because he was physically trapped underneath the massive and inebriated Orksaa.

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - Kak brought Deadpool to the Ongulian command vessel.

(Deadpool IV#34) - Kak explained to Deadpool that, due to Id having been spotted in the D'Krian quadrant, that he thought Id had targeted the planet Urrulu, because it was populated (as Id liked it), though only with one settlement composed of about 1000 terra-farmers. After telling Deadpool of Id's origins, Kak revealed his plan to destroy Id while Id was distracted in the process of shattering Urrulu by approaching from his blind side and launching Deadpool onto Id's surface within a rocket carrying the weapon designed to destroy Id. After Kak gave Deadpool a sensor that would alert him when he was standing on a fault line, Deadpool asked what about the people on Urrulu. When Kak explained that, though he had not made the decision lightly, he was willing to sacrifice the colonists to save countless other worlds, Deadpool shot Kak in the arm, took over the operation, and  forced the Ongulians to change their plans to save the colonists on Urrulu.
Unhappy with the lot of farming the inhospitable planet they had inherited from their grandparents, the colonists happily agreed to Deadpool's evacuation plan (he told them he'd take them someplace "cool"), but first he forced them to carve a large message on Urrulu's surface for Id to see: "They're gone -- I'm the guy that did it" (surrounding a picture of Deadpool's symbol). One of the Ongulians questioned why Deadpool would antagonize Id, and Deadpool shared that he wanted Id to chase him, and told him he would find out why later.
The colonists were less happy upon arriving on their new world, a frozen wasteland. Deadpool encouraged the colonists to blame the Ongulians helping to unload their freeze-dried food packets within an icy shelter; while one of the Ongulians futilely tried to appease the colonists by discussing the positives (a cave for shelter and freeze-dried food packets), Deadpool took the Ongulians' ship and left Kak and the other Ongulians with the angry colonists.

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - As planned, Id was antagonized by the message, and he bypassed the frozen world of the former Urruluan colonists and the Ongulians, as there was neither happiness nor revelry there.

(Deadpool IV#35 - BTS) - Deadpool sent the Ongulian weapon into the core of U-235; as Id destroyed and consumed the planet, Deadpool escaped in the Ongulian rocket and the remotely detonated the weapon, destroying Id.

It would seem that the Ongulian ship was destroyed along with U-235, as it was docked there, and only the rocket was seen to escape.

(Deadpool IV#35 - BTS) - The Ongulians were apparently recovered from the frozen planet, and they paid Deadpool.

(Deadpool IV#35) - Days later, Kak thanked him, not just for destroying Id, but also for teaching Kak a lesson and saving him from making a decision that would have haunted him for the rest of his life. Nonetheless, Deadpool -- frustrated that this major success wouldn't earn him any credit on Earth -- dismissed Kak, who left, puzzled.

    Heh...he said "duty."

As Norvo pointed out: "Kak" in Dutch actually means, well... crap of the feces variety. Guess that makes Kak doing his duty sound extra funny :-)

Probably should have given Kak his own profile, but I just wanted to move on. If someone wants to make a profile for Kak given what's here...go for it!

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Ongulians have no known connections to

Bluzia and Wongus

(Deadpool IV#33 (fb) - BTS) <6 years before the main story> - Wongus was called for duty in the Ongulian Defense Fleet.

(Deadpool IV#33 (fb)) - Wongus met with his beloved, Bluzia, informing her of his duty and -- as part of his marriage proposal -- told her he would not raise a family in the shadow of terror. Bluzia cheerfully accepted, adding that they would have the most glorious wedding the planet had ever seen: She would invite her entire spawning group, and they would "freak" when they saw her status update on Spacebook. Wongus informed her that the wedding would have to wait, as he would report for duty in the morning. He instead romantically told her that, for now, they would have to consider the night sky as their chapel, the stars as their guests, and the moon as their chaplin...Bluzia was surprised to note that there were two moons, and Wongus realized it was something different than a regular moon, scant seconds before Id destroyed the planet Ongulia and everyone on it, laughing maniacally as he did.

Kak

Former commander of the Ongulian Defense Fleet, after Ongulia's destruction, Kak dedicated his life to the single-minded goal of Id's destruction.

(Deadpool IV#33 (fb)) - Aboard the command ship of the Ongulian Defense Fleet, the planet's destruction was noted and reported by a crew member, seconds before discovering the blast wave was approaching the forward gunships at incredible speed.

(Deadpool IV#33) - Funtzel contacted Kak at a bar (which he attended along with at least two other Ongulians). Having heard of Deadpool, Kak and the two other Ongulians traveled to Funtzel Intergalactic to meet Deadpool, who Funtzel said was "the best." Though surprised by Deadpool wearing a women's two piece bikini swim suit along with his belt and a few other pieces of his outfit (Deadpool had been interrupted while preparing for some romance with Orksaa), they nonetheless offered Deadpool an exorbitant sum on behalf of the last surviving members of the Ongulian civilization to destroy Id. Funtzel and Obb told Deadpool they thought the job was way too dangerous, and that if he took it on, he was taking it on alone. Deadpool accepted, though, for his own validation, he made the Ongulians say they wanted him to kill a planet (rather than JUST a moon).

Kak subsequently watched as Obb used his tow-truck to lift Orksaa off of Deadpool. Kak questioned that Funtzel had told him Deadpool was the best, but Funtzel assured him that Deadpool was the best..."inside that head o' his hides an incredibly intricate and delicate mind." Deadpool then told Kak he had figured out how to kill Id; when Kak asked him how, Deadpool answered, "With my brain. Duh." Deadpool then told Kak to follow him and "put some pep in your step."

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - Kak brought Deadpool to the Ongulian command vessel.

(Deadpool IV#34) - Deadpool told Kak he didn't expect his ship to be so "crappy," and Kak explained how they had had to sacrifice portions of their vessel to fund their quest, and to pay for Deadpool's services; Deadpool simply told him, "Perfection comes at a price, Tri-Clops."
Kak then explained to Deadpool that, due to Id having been spotted in the D'Krian quadrant, he thought Id would targeted the planet Urrulu, because it was populated (as Id liked it), though only with one settlement composed of about 1000 terra-farmers. After telling Deadpool of Id's origins, Kak told him that Id was going to continue destroying planets until someone stopped him. After Kak confronted Deadpool with not actually having a plan (at which point Deadpool asked, "Are you a telepath?"), Kak revealed his plan to destroy Id while Id was distracted in the process of shattering Urrulu by approaching from the rear (which got a snicker out of Deadpool) and launching Deadpool onto Id's surface within a tube rocket (which got another snicker) carrying the weapon designed to destroy Id. After Kak gave Deadpool a sensor that would alert him when he was standing on a fault line, Deadpool asked what would happen to the people on Urrulu. When Kak explained that, though he had not made the decision lightly, he was willing to sacrifice the colonists to save countless other worlds, Deadpool pulled his gun and asked who could fly the ship. When no one responded, Deadpool shot Kak in the arm, which convinced another Ongulian to speak up, that he could fly the ship. Deadpool then explained they were going to save Urrulu, and Kak angrily told Deadpool they hired him to kill Id, not to be a hero. Intimidated by Deadpool, the Ongulians changed their plans.

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - Deadpool loaded the colonists onto the Ongulian ship.

(Deadpool IV#34) - One of the Ongulians questioned why Deadpool would antagonize Id, and Deadpool shared that he wanted Id to chase him, and told the Ongulian he would find out why later.

(Deadpool IV#34 - BTS) - Deadpool guided the Ongulian ship to bring the colonists to an unidentified frozen wasteland planet.

(Deadpool IV#34) - The colonists were less happy upon arriving on their new world.

(Deadpool IV#34) - As planned, Id was antagonized by the message, and he bypassed the frozen world of the former Urruluan colonists and the Ongulians -- as there was neither happiness nor revelry there -- in favor or pursuing Deadpool to the planet U-235, which Deadpool also evacuated.

(Deadpool IV#35 - BTS) - Deadpool sent the Ongulian weapon into the core of U-235; as Id destroyed and consumed the planet, Deadpool escaped in the Ongulian rocket and the remotely detonated the weapon, destroying Id.

(Deadpool IV#35 - BTS) - Kak and the Ongulians were apparently recovered from the frozen planet.

(Deadpool IV#35 - BTS) - Kak paid Deadpool

(Deadpool IV#35) - Days later, as Deadpool recovered, Kak came to thank him, not just for destroying Id, but also for teaching Kak a lesson and saving him from making a decision that would have haunted him for the rest of his life. Nonetheless, Deadpool -- frustrated that this major success wouldn't earn him any credit on Earth -- told him he didn't care if  Kak thought him a hero. Kak wondered if it was because he wasn't like Deadpool, and Deadpool told him there was nobody like him. Kak stared at the silent Deadpool briefly before walking out the door.

rocket

Intended to carry their weapon (as well as a being who would bring the weapon to a fault line) to Id's surface, Deadpool instead used it to escape the surface of planet U-235 after the weapon had already tunneled into its core. Because Obb had traveled to U-235 in a misguided plan to kill Deadpool, Deadpool cut off his own limbs (the last arm with Obb's help) to be able to squeeze into the rocket with Obb). The pair escaped and were picked up by Orksa in Obb's tow-ship.

weapon

A robotic drilling machine, it would, once engaged, burrow into Id's core, at which point the Ongulians could remotely detonate its high-powered nuclear explosive. They were only able to design a single such weapon, and it was limited in that it had to be placed precisely upon one of the fault lines on Id's surface, and thus required someone able to survive on Id's surface long enough to place it appropriately.

Deadpool instead delivered the weapon to planet U-235 and had it tunnel to that planet's core. After Id destroyed and inhaled planet U-235 (and the bomb, which apparently was durable enough to not be destroyed by Id's seismic attack), Deadpool remotely detonated the weapon, destroying Id.
