Powers/Abilities: Lavour was initially a normal human. After her transformation, Lavour’s body was capable of generating intense heat, as well as being impervious to the effects of magma. She had no need for food, sleep or oxygen. As a noblewoman, she was well versed in diplomacy. She wielded a whip, made from magma, with great skill.

History:

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#1 (fb) - BTS) - At some point, perhaps through an arranged marriage, Lavour was engaged to Crystar, one of the twin princes of Crystalium. Despite the obvious attraction his brother Moltar held for her, she ignored him.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#8 (fb) - During a lull in the Chaos War, a gala party was held at the palace. Leaving her servant girl to mingle with the Royal Guard, Lavour stayed by Crystar’s side as word came of a monster terrorizing a remote village. She expressed some jealousy at the thought of Crystar going off on an adventure.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#1) - With the Chaos War coming to a close, Lavour often spent her free time with Crystar. During a wrestling match with his brother Moltar, her serving girl Ambara accidentally dropped a serving tray. It was Lavour’s reaction, not the incident itself, which distracted Moltar and caused him to lose. She was not present when the wizards Ogeode and Zardeth appeared, but she did arrive before the coronation ceremony in time to see Moltar stab Crystar. Horrified at the possible loss of power, she decided to back Moltar and appeared at his side, unaware of Crystar and his uncle being spirited away by Ambara. When shards of crystal rained from the sky and struck only Moltar’s followers, Lavour was not unaffected and fled with them to the Caverns of Chaos. She was transformed with the rest, although her body was as altered differently than the rest of the Magma Men. She was among Moltar’s forces as they attacked Galax, and with them as they were pushed back.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#2) - Thinking on her feet, Lavour was the first to blame their troubles on Zardeth. She changed her tune as the wizard appeared before them and quickly silenced their complaints. She stood by and watched as Moltar ordered three of his men to go into Galax and gather information.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#3) - It was Lavour, along with Zardeth, who convinced Moltar not to launch another attack on Galax.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#4) - Lavour again convinced Moltar that an attack on Galax would be foolish. Instead, she suggested a peaceful march with overtures of a peaceful meeting. When Crystar and his forces attacked, Moltar then claimed that he was the victim, citing his unarmed envoy.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#5) - Lavour was left at the Caverns while Moltar and Zardeth left to discuss a possible treaty with Crystar. When two bases were accidentally placed next to each other, Lavour was among the first to notice the slip up as she bumped into Koth and Kaliber. She also began to suspect that Crystar was not as broken up about the end of their engagement as she thought.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#6) - When the Earthling Nightcrawler accidentally teleported into Crystalilum, he was welcomed as an emissary sent from Chaos. Lavour welcomed the X-Man, but was among the first to figure out he that wasn’t a demon. She was also admonished by Moltar and forbidden to appear before him. She took exception to the orders and after a tense confrontation with the newly arrived forces of Order, mainly over the fact that Crystar went from her to a serving girl, she publicly declared her loyalty and love to Moltar.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#7) - Lavour stood proudly by Moltar’s side as the Magma Men entered into talks with the Green Hill People.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#8) - Lavour was lost in thought as Moltar took a day of mourning over the anniversary of Captain Heyatt’s death.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#9 - BTS) - Perhaps due to a growing mistrust, Lavour was left back in the Caverns of Chaos with Moltar as per Zardeth’s orders.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#10) - Lavour was silent as Moltar finally voiced his concerns and doubts. She expressed her pride in their forces as plans were made for a final assault on Galax.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#11) - As the final battle between Chaos and Order raged, Lavour found herself side by side with Moltar as he finally confronted the wizard Zardeth. Unsure of what to do, she was struck by how brave Moltar was. Her heart melting for the first time, she vowed to stay by his side as Zardeth started to curse the pair before Crystar slew him. His spell would still curse them, however, as with his dying breath he turned Moltar back into a regular human while leaving Lavour trapped in her magma form. The pair, after finally declaring their love for each other, was now struck by the realization that they never could be together without the intense heat from her body causing Moltar pain. Despite this, they stood as close as they could while Crystar was declared King.

Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, John Romita, Jr. and Jim Shooter. Concept expanded on by Mary Jo Duffy (writer) and Ricardo Villamonte (pencils & inks).

Issue #4 was a bedtime story told by Kalibar to his children, so the events within and how they transpired is suspect.

Couldn’t Ogeode just undo the spell? Or maybe turn her into crystal?

Extra special thanks to Madison Carter for clarifying this question - yes, Crystar and all related characters are in fact Marvel owned and created. You might remember these guys from the Remco toy line, but the toys were a tie-in to the comic and not vice versa.
