History:

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#8 (fb) - While attending a party during a lull in the fighting, Stalax celebrated his recent commission to captain. As his parents bragged of this accomplishment, the parents of Warbow compared the two in a good naturedly way. When a war party was formed to go and investigate the rumored sightings of a Chaos demon, Stalax was among the captains who were ordered to stay behind and guard the city.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#1) - After the war and his parents' deaths, Stalax spent more time at the palace. He was closest to Moltar and looked up to the prince. When the wizard Zardeth appeared, Stalax leapt to the prince’s defense. He reluctantly left when ordered. As Moltar pledged his allegiance to Chaos and Crystar underwent his transformation, Stalax was with the other captains, trying to decide on a course of action. When the newly transformed Crystar arrived with the wizard Ogeode in tow, Stalax pledged his loyalty to the prince and was transformed along with the rest of the loyal captains. With the small band ready, Crystar attacked Moltar’s forces. Stalax personally confronted Moltar. The prince, enraged by Stalax’s display of loyalty to Crystar, struck the young captain with almost deadly force. A deep crack developed in Stalax’s chest and he fell. Moltar’s forces were later driven from the city, but Stalax was unaware of the victory.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#2) - Stalax was taken from the field and placed in a bed in Ogeode’s home. Due to his body being crystal instead of flesh, his wounds were not healing. He sat and listened to Ogeode as the wizard explained his plan to save him.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#3) - A search party was formed when Crystar and Ika vanished. Stalax stayed behind, as he was still too weak. Ambara and Warbow stayed with him, the former to provide medical assistance and the latter to protect them.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#4) - Stalax was ready to fight as he wounds finally healed, although he was still weak. When word reached of Moltar’s forces advancing on the city, Stalax stayed behind as fighting broke out. The fight ended almost as quickly as it had begun when both Moltar and Feldspar reprimanded Crystar and his forces. Feldspar ordered Crystar and his group to leave Galax, but gave them enough time to say their goodbyes. Stalax prayed before his parents' tomb before leaving.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#5) - As Crystar and Moltar entered into talks, Stalax stayed behind with Ika. When Ika pitched the idea of trying to banish the forces of Chaos from the planet, Stalax agreed to help her. His help consisted mainly of sitting with her and concentrating as she tried the spell, but perhaps due to either her lack of trying or his lapse of concentration, the Caverns of Chaos were deposited right next to the Royal Palace. He and Ika sheepishly admitted what they did as a ceasefire was called.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#6) - Stalax stayed behind as Crystar entered into talks with Moltar. When the X-Man Nightcrawler arrived, Stalax helped in the search and took part in the standoff between Crystar and Moltar.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#7) - Stalax urged Crystar to return to Galax when informed of the attack by the Green Hill people. He and Warbow walked through the countryside as the older captain explained the Hill people’s beliefs to him. He sailed with the rest of Crystar’s forces towards the Council of Order after the battle.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#8) - Stalax listened with the others as Crystar explained his reasons for mourning.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#9) - When the faux Feldspar and his envoy arrived, Stalax was the one to expose them as Zardeth and Malachon, as their mounts showed no signs of a long journey. He helped defend the Council against the invaders.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#10) - After sailing back to Galax, Stalax waited with the others as Crystar tried once more to argue before his uncle. When the Magma Men attacked, Stalax and Koth defended Ambara. During the fighting, Stalax saw Koth go over the side of a cliff and assumed he died. He reported the death to Warbow and the pair quietly told Crystar.

(Saga of Crystar the Crystal Warrior#11) - As the final battle was waged, Stalax rode with Crystar and Alpha Flight to rescue the captured Koth. He fought bravely during the battle and was among the witnesses as Crystar assumed the throne.

Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, John Romita, Jr., and Jim Shooter. Concept expanded on by Mary Jo Duffy and Ricardo Villamonte.

Issue #4 was a bedtime story told by Kalibar to his children, so the events within and how they transpired are suspect.

All of Crystar's captain's were made into action figures, but they were not packaged the same as normal and came with deluxe sets. Stalax came with the Crystal dragon.

Extra special thanks to Madison Carter for clarifying this question- yes, Crystar and all related characters are in fact Marvel owned and created. You might remember these guys from the Remco toy line, but the toys were a tie-in to the comic and not vice versa.
