History:

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#4 (fb) - BTS) - Hrolf was turned into a vampire by Deacon Frost.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#1 (fb) - BTS) - Hrolf became the leader of a pack of vampires. At some point he became through Darius Venginian a member of the Silvereye operation. He sent members of his former pack to retrieve the buried body of Blade for him and led at the same time Silvereye to the place Blade was buried because it was all part of a simulation designed to test Blade's fighting skills. His unsuspecting pack followed him blindly and none of them expected that he had betrayed them.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#1/1) - Hrolf led a group of vampires against the dug up Blade. He told them to shoot him and tried it himself too, but most of the vamps only hit each other because Blade was too fast. Tinker's arrival not only surprised Hrolf, but also brought more disadvantages for him and the other vamps because Tinker brought Blade a sword. Hrolf continued to shoot and miss.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#1/2) - Blade cornered Hrolf at a crypt and all the other vampires stopped fighting. Hrolf tried to persuade Blade that he was now one of them because he was bit by Morbius. This conversation bought Hrolf enough time to survive until Silvereye's Silverfang Units landed. Hrolf jumped to safety when their ships started firing on the other vampires. He ordered the vampires to attack the Silverfang Units and killed one who questioned his order. The rest followed his order and he laughed because he sent them out to die. A few moments later he met up with a Silverfang Unit.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#2) - Hrolf talked with the Silverfang Unit about the operation. Everything had worked fine except for the fact that Blade was gone. That moment Hrolf saw Blade running towards them. The Silverfang Unit wanted to use their weapons, but Hrolf ordered to use the Freak and Hrolf's plan worked. Under Freak's control Blade thought Hrolf was his friend and happily went with the Silverfang Unit.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#2 - BTS) - Hrolf returned with the Silverfang Unit to Silvereye's HQ Blackeye 1.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#3) - Hrolf took a nap after sucking two women dry. He was woken up by Commander Dallas because Blade was gone missing again and Dallas wanted Hrolf to find him again. Hrolf found Blade in Lab A on Level 5 and watched Blade fight his former allies Mikado and Mosha. Blade was still controlled by Freak and Hrolf asked him to tell Blade to kill the women, but Blade didn't do it. Hrolf realized that it was the thirst for blood that was getting to Blade and ordered Freak to tell Blade to drink the blood of the assassin. With anticipation Hrolf watched as Blade was ready to bite his former ally Mikado.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#4) - Hrolf cheered Blade's moves and kicked Mosha in the face when she tried to interfere. Blade's bite was nevertheless delayed by Patriot, who was first attacked by Blade and then brutally beaten up by Hrolf, who was mad at the old man for leaving his tank. Hrolf and Freak continued to tell Blade to drink Mikado's blood, but suddenly he stopped and remembered his true past. He smelled Deacon Frost on Hrolf and let Mikado go. Hrolf got angry with him and was going to drink Mikado himself, but Blade continued to heckle him about the smell of Frost on Hrolf and then attacked Hrolf and Freak. Hrolf wasn't bothered by Freak's death or Blade's hostile attitude and even stopped the Silverfang Units that were ordered to stop Blade. He wanted to fight Blade on his own. Their fight was even, but it ended when the room was flooded with gas. Hrolf took a gas mask from a Silvereye agent and waited until the gas pumped out again. The gas was gone, but Blade and his allies were too and Hrolf wanted to know from Dallas what was going on, but Dallas was no more. Instead of him Spencer was now the Commander and Hrolf wasn't too happy about this. When he thought his day couldn't get worse Blackeye 1 was hit by the Reaper and the demon directly broke into Lab A on Level 5. Hrolf ordered the other agents to take the monster down.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#5) - Hrolf hid while the other agents fought the Reaper and overheard how the Reaper mentioned the Daywalker. After all agents were killed Hrolf was found by the Reaper's girls. They showed him to Reaper who smelled the ancient smell on him. Hrolf was spared by them and he ran away as fast as he could. Commander Spencer ordered Hrolf and the Fang Units to go after the monster again. Hrolf was mad at Venginian because he knew that Venginian was behind Spencer's orders. When Blackeye 1 had to be abandoned Hrolf was one of the first to get to the escape pods.

(Blade: Vampire Hunter II#6) - Together with a few other vampire agents Hrolf left Blackeye 1 in an escape pod and they watched their former HQ crash into the cemetery where they found Blade. One of the vampires made fun of Hrolf and he killed everyone around him. Shortly after that the escape pod landed at Venginian's Diva Complex in New York City.

Comments: Created by Bart Sears (writer/pencils), Raymond Krissing & Andy Smith (both inks).

This series occurred after Blade was bitten by Morbius in Peter Parker: Spider-Man II#8.

Hrolf was described as a red-haired vyking of a mongrel vampire. Was this a hint to his origin or just thrown in because he looked that way?
